I got a little tired of having to look at pixelated Greek (?) books in my Sims’s bookcases and even these ones by plasticbox were in the Greek alphabet so I’ve made some actual Simlish book recolors of the BiblioFile Bookcase using some default book textures by Epi, Slig and Sims in Low Space (links to their books below in the credits). The CinderBooks by Retratech bookcase uses the exact same textues so there are recolors for that one as well. The mapping by EA is horrible as usual so there will be some books turned upside down and random spines for almost everything and some pixels will overlap, but it still looks good!

If you have the Asian Fusion bookcase by HugeLunatic you are in luck, because recolors will work for that bookcase as well. If there are other custom bookcases with their books slaved to the BiblioFile books (or CinderBooks books) recolors will work for those as well.

Leefish extracted some of the books here, and the BiblioFile recolors will work for those as well if you want to fill empty bookcases with individual books.

Dec. 14, 2022 Update! @tvickiesims has very kindly improved the paper textures and gave me permission to share them. In my opinion they look much better than before so I just updated the download with the new textures.

Bookcase Books Default Replacement

@lottes-little-place recent bookshelf books recolors inspired me to finish my own default for the book sculptures. And then it resulted in a default replacement of almost all bookshelf books.

BiblioFile Bookcase and CinderBooks by Retratech have their textures replaced with one of Lotte’s recolors (rec3 to be exact so you can delete it if you had it as recolor). I only slightly modified the paper pages part of it. Other textures were created by me with parts of book textures by @sligpants and @simsinlowspace (their book replacements can be found here and here).

I also included a replacement for BILLY bookcase books (I use this bookcase way too often in my game), but maybe not all of you would like to replace it so it’s standalone.

Please note that some weird texture stretching and bleeding here is caused by Maxis mapping, I can’t fix that without mesh editing.

All affected bookcases in their new look:

I’m just going to slip in one random recolor before I finish off the remaining base game desks. This one’s my favorite cheap bookcase, so I just had to get it done sooner rather than later. >.> It comes in all 110 colors of the AKS Object Rainbow 4 (1). A few colors/actions are borrowed from others; each individually packaged recolor file is labeled with the original creator, palette, and name, but it’s all abbreviated so check the included documentation to fill in the missing letters.
