One of my favorite "identity / secret" reveal situations I've ever read in a book series was when the "orphan" protagonist had been kidnapped and the kidnappers were trying to ransom him to this guy he'd only heard of in passing before. And it was a relatively serious scene, but in humorous summary, it went a little like this:
Kidnappers: "We have your son."
Some Guy: "I don't have a son."
Kidnappers: "..."
Protagonist: "..."
Some Guy: "Wait, let me call my ex."

There's something about a roof isn't there? It makes you feel like it doesn't matter what's going on below. All of those things that get in the way of your dreams - you're above them. Anything is possible.

Lucinda redesign
Love my girl Lucinda , I did some extra doodles from bits n pieces of her backstory and some silly. I’ll do her hair journey chart later and what is associated with that style
Btw!! My redesign post’s and my rewrite post are going to be separate so I can have more time to think about the character other than the designs :3
Also if you were wondering who I do ship her with 🙄.. it’s Lo , no further questions teehee ( I just like their dynamics )

However this is admittedly the first season without Theo Dimas
Tina Fey
And Steve's wife (I know she's not useful to the plot, but it was cute to see her here and there).
And that, my friends, is not good.

I'm working on a Queen of Attolia reread at the moment, and I'm going INSANE over the parts where Eugenides is slowly recuperating. People always mention the pages in Twilight that are just blank except for month labels as a creative portrayal of depression. BUT MAN. The extent to which so much feeling is expressed in prose that doesn't even MENTION feelings... Incredible.
Eugenides sits. And he practices handwriting. And he goes to dinner. And all throughout it's just the most oppressive feeling of emptiness and inner absence. He gets a "he supposed" or "he thought" MAXIMUM every two pages.
This is so impressive to me because when I write I am shouting my character's feelings. I am tapdancing their inner monologue through the streets. I am dropping flyers of their thoughts from airplanes. And I know I'm still not conveying emotion half as effectively as these chapters are.

lowkey obsessed with the fact that Cinda’s new Poppy assistant also has shoulder-length blonde hair, tortoiseshell glasses, and a beige sweater. She still can’t stand working with people who don’t look like her 😅

Freedom From – Part 3
Tumblr media
previous chapters: FOUND HERE synopsis: Aemond x Peasant OC; Lyn gets her first taste of the Lannister lifestyle and its sickening. ~2k wc music inspiration: that scene in Spirted Away where her parents feast themselves into pigs warnings: none? interim chapter, nothing much happens. next steps: Now that the "plot" is happening in this story, I'm going to go back and edit the previous chapters to make them more coherent and flow together, rather than being in a race against my own motivation to get the story on paper. Would love to hear what people think, and want more of! I love this story so much, I'm excited to share it with everyone~
Tumblr media
There was no time to think, and Lyn was glad of that. It had been promised to her that she would never be forced to think again, and perhaps they had fulfilled that promise. She hadn’t had time to think about it.
Lyn was hungry, or Lynora, she did not know who she was anymore. The tent was as much a puzzle as a field of wheat swaying in the breeze. The bitter wind from the swamps fluttered the walls and made Lyn dizzy, as hands grabbed her from every direction and pulled her into new room after room.
Her hands and face was scrubbed, by bristles as soft as lace, not that Lyn had ever had the pleasure, Aeditya would never allow her to touch a fabric so fine, her lowborn hands might stain the fabric.
Lyn regarded her hands, turning them over as the rose petals washed away the dirt and a sponge of a yellow cloud wiped away her impurities. Were her hands still those of a lowborn? If someone like Aeditya could not tell them apart. Lyn had always thought of Aeditya a lady so fine, with her soft fabrics and cups of polished silver.
But, compared to the ladies Lyn had before her, she wasn’t so sure any longer. The women washing her hands, more diligently than Lyn had done anything before in her life, “Are you a maid?” Lyn asked, the woman’s clothes had thread of gold weaved around her neckline.
The woman scoffed and did not answer, simply continued to scrub her hands.
“Ow!” Lyn jumped as another woman passed a small wooden rod beneath her fingernails to remove years of dirt, clearly the sponge scrubbing had not satisfied the noble looking ladies.
The two ladies before her, looking concerned at one another when regarding Lyn’s plain clothes, Lyn looked down and startled as one of the maids screamed at her to not wipe her nearly clean hands on such filthy skirts.
Another woman was called in and Lyn’s overdress was untied so quickly, Lyn was sure the woman had cut the laces with a knife. There was no time to protest, as there was no time to think. She was ushered into sleeves and an apron, of silken brocade crimson, followed by an overdress, faceted in the front with golden buckles.
Lyn watched herself in the polished stone, and could not believe what she saw.
“You look like a servant,” one said, massaging her temples that arched with annoyance.
“This is more fine than anything Ive ever owned,” Lyn replied, still not daring to touch any of the fabrics with her clean hands.
“It’ll have to do,” the ladies threw up their hands in surrender, finally ushering Lyn behind another curtain tapestry.
Her mouth was open, her eyes could not see all that there was before her, her nose could not understand. There were others at the table, the beautiful woman with the smile too large for her face, who claimed to be her aunt, a younger version of that woman, and the lying prince, whoever he was.
Lyn or Lynora had never seen so much food in a single place after the countless number of markets she had sold her baskets at. Out of all the markets, out of all the food, nothing even began to compare to this feast. She was surely Lynora now, as Lyn had surely died and went to the seventh most heaven.
She did not even wait for the servers to place the dishes before she started putting new and fascinating things into her mouth. Some were sweet, some were bitter, some she was sure was not meant to be eaten, but Lyn did not care.
First came greens of all shades and colors, so fresh Lyn was sure the lion nobles had dragged around pots of dirt to carry their royal leafy greens. She had never seen green in such colors and textures. Some had curly tops, greens curled together it resembled hair on a bird. Some were long and stringy, with little stalks and bursts like the tiniest of felled tree. Some was even purple, on a leaf, and she ate it. She ate it all.
There were breads with creams and sprinklings of greens that tasted like the finest dessert and heartiest meal she had ever tried. The bread snapped in her mouth, toasted and crunchy and the cheese mushed and spread.
There was soup as bright red as the fine silks that wrapped around every surface in her view, it was a good thing, as the red stains did not show up as she dribbled droplets from her spoon on the way to her mouth. Lyn solved the problem by drinking the soup straight from the bowl.
Lyn heard a giggle, and was snapped out of the trance the meal had found her in. She had never had so many flavors in her mouth at once, and it was strangely overwhelming.
“What?” she asked to the small girl seated beside her. She had a round face, and a round body to match. Her decorated clothes and painted face gave her the appearance of someone much older than Lyn suspected she really was.
The girl offered Lyn handkerchief, a beautiful white amongst the reds.
Lyn smiled and tried to remember all the things she had learned about being polite and how to speak to ladies as she accepted the handkerchief, but her mind was sucked back into her dream as the largest crisped first was placed before her. She forked the eyeball and moaned into the taste
She had spent the past dozen winters feeling hollow and hungry, she knew the ache of giving away her bread to those more unfortunate and the anger when someone does not pay back in kind. She knew what it felt to be cheated, to be wronged, to have the last dregs of food stolen from her.
Lyn still not had time to decide if she believed the golden haired woman with a smile too large, but she was not going to waste a good time worrying about it. The lion nobles could not steal her food if it were already in her belly, and she had no coin to give as payment. Lyn was not going to waste the opportunity before her, she was here to eat, just in case they kicked her out the way she came after realizing her mistake. She would be out with a fully belly.
There was a goose next, or a duck, Lyn could not be sure, as it was massive either way. Fresh fruits stuffed down its throat and into its belly, turning the meat so succulent and moist, she had forgone the utensils and tore into the meat with her hands.
A savory sauce in a short pitcher, Lyn had only ever seen these during the feasts at Erenford Keep, otherwise they were locked away in their most prized cupboard. Lyn tried to remember what she had seen the nobles doing with the brothy liquid, but she settled for dunking the meats into it. It was a delicious idea.
The youngest lioness girl was excited as she watched the strange woman Cinda had found, Cordelia imagined this was what it was like eating with a wildling she had heard so many stories about.
She removed her rings, joined in tarring into the bird, though much more delicately than the wildling, daintily dipping the tendons in the brown sauce. “Did the Motherhouse not have utensils?” she asked, eager to hear the answer. She had never heard the Septas preach about such things.
“We more did not have the food,” Lyn spoke with a mouth filled with meats trickling out. There was something white mash coming from behind the curtains, Lyn craned her neck to see. “When young, we could gather all the bowls and plates from the Motherhouse and we we would pretend to have feasts just like this with all the empty–“
“This isn't a feast, this is luncheon!” Cordelia laughed.
Both girls dipped their fingers into the newest dish offered at the table.
It was time for the woman at the head of the table to laugh, with her mouth too wide and her gums more bright than her painted lips. Her laugh was short and controlled, like bells from the steeples of the temple. Lyn had not noticed for sticking she was as a figure. Her deep red gown, the color of dried blood, hung nearly off her shoulders, revealing a lower neckline than even Lady Aditya ever dared wear. Blue jewels on golden chains hung around her neck, just above the cleft of her breasts. Lyn could almost blush at the thought of wearing something so revealing of her womanly features, those were to be hidden under layers of thick fabrics, not to give anyone the wrong idea.
Lyn supposed the woman at the head of the table could give anyone any idea she wished. Her nose stopped at a sharp point, amongst thin cheeks. The lashes her of eyes were so dark and luscious, Lyn could see them framing her eyes from across the table. Her upper lip disappeared into her smile, exposing layers of pink healthy gums, holding onto her overly large teeth. Lyn had never seen teeth so perfect. She, herself, had lost a tooth on the side of her face as a child, and another one deep inside her mouth from searing pain and rot. The first tooth was knocked out in a hard tumble, and the other was pried out by a Maester with thick irons. Lyn supposed this woman had never lost anything in her life, let alone teeth.
Well, she supposed, except for…her? Lynora.
She licked the fluffy sugared white froth from her fingers, Lyn had always had a knack for making the younger kids laugh, and Cordelia was no exception. The young lion noble dragged her fingers from the whipped creams and nearly lost herself to laugher when Lyn dotted the cream onto her own nose.
“Don’t you start in,” Cinda chuckled at the movement of the white haired boy.
“I’m not a child!” he snapped back, shooting straight into his chair back.
Lyn stopped, mid sip from her ruby wine. She looked at Cordelia who looked away. The silver haired boy looked unhappy, his arms crossed around her chest, Cinda looked jovial.
“And…” Lyn started, wiping the cream from her nose and turning towards the white haired boy with only one eye, who had been quiet at the table until now, “who are you?”
Both Cinda and Cordelia enjoyed that.
“Oh, you have never met?” Cinda asked, raising her glass. “I’m so surprised!”
Aemond and Lyn locked eyes, Lyn’s mouth stopped chewing her food, she was going to be sick.
“Your paths have never crossed before? You mean to tell me you’ve never been to the Red Keep or King’s Landing? Or even Dragonstone?”
“Have you?” Cordelia asked, Lyn shook her head, Cinda was only jesting, and Lyn let out a breath.
“Never?” Cordelia wondered. “It’s not very far, I think only a few weeks ride.”
“I’ve been to The Twins a few times,” Lyn admitted.
“Do you really not know who he is?” Cordelia asked, looking between Lyn and the white haired man.
Lyn mimicked Aemond, as he shook his own head. She eyes had not left hers.
“No – are we related as well?” she asked, reluctantly. Everything she had learned today had been so strange already, she would not be surprised if another pale haired person was in her newly sprouted family tree.
“My dear, this is the Aemond Targaryen,” Cinda put her glass down, as if that meant something to Lyn, “a prince of the seven kingdoms, second son to King Viseryrs and Queen Alicent.”
Lyn was going to be sick.
Cinda sighed and motioned towards something.
A person appeared at Lyn’s side with a large golden bowl, startling Lyn, her stomach lurched, she had not realized how many other people had been in the room with them while feasting. The walls were lined with people. Servants she supposed.
Lyn had to admit, she did look more similar to the servants than the beautiful nobles at the other end of the table.
“A prince?” Lyn asked, she burped air into her throat. Perhaps the liar prince had not been a liar after all. She watched him with new eyes, his dark leather clothes were fine, and free from debris or distress. It looked as soft as silk, and under all the black, dark stitchings of dragons weaved around his chest. He really was a prince. A dragon prince. Perhaps she should not have joked about him having her killed so many times.
“You two are not related, though you do share relations with Prince Aemond’s elder half-sister,” Cinda continued, as she waited for a servant to finish filling her cup.
Lyn could taste all the flavors coming back up into her throat.
“Our shared foremother – yours, mine and Cordelia’s that is, hails from The Vale, and is half-sisters to Princess Rhaenyra’s own mother, the late Queen Aemma…”
Lyn hugged the large golden bowl against her chest. Perhaps there was one way the lion nobles could have all their food back.
“Elys Arryn joined House Lannister through marriage not long after the birth of the future Queen Aemma Arryn, and had a son all her own, mine own father, your grandsire the Lord–“
Lyn was sick into the golden bowl.
authors notes: thanks for reading! There’s going to be a few interim scenes, I’m excited for them, but I know they can be boring to write, so I’m trying to chug along! I’m going to go back and start editing the earlier chapters so they are easier to read going forward~ I’ll repost the bits as I edit them~
Sneak Peak for themed from next few chapters:
Cinda: “I’m offering you family!”
Lyn: “You offer me family with conditions.”
Cinda: “Every family comes with conditions. Only a child would think otherwise.”

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Are you sure you wanna do this?” Sephie turned her head to look at her very worried boyfriend’s face. He was concentrated on the door in front of them and was fidgeting with his fingers “it’s not that my family will hate you. They’re just….. a lot, all the time” finally he looked at her. She smiled and nodded. “I’ve already spoken to Daria and she seems to like me, I’m sure the others will, or at least ,tolerate me”
Idia gave her a small smile back, before knocking on the front door. She tightened her grip on the basket she was holding, it was filled with some baked sweets she’d been preparing since earlier that morning. ‘Everything will be alright’ she thought to herself before the door opened.
Who greeted them was a lady with chocolate skin, dark night blue eyes and with long blonde wavy hair decorated with flowers. She wore a flowery yellow dress. Once she saw the two of them, her eyes softened and a warm smile appeared on her face. “Idia dear, how have you been?” She opened her arms slightly and surprisingly, Idia hugged her.
After a second he let go and the lady turned to her. “Hello sweetheart” she spoke softly and calmly, it made Sephie feel calmer and warm inside “I’m Dimitra, you must be Sephie. Such a pleasure to meet you darling” again, she opened her arms slightly, as if to say ‘you can hug me if you’d like’ but her face said ‘it’s ok if not’. Sephie ended up hugging her slightly before pulling away. The lady smelled like the sun and flowers, it was nice.
“Is that my baby?!” The lady, Dimitra, stepped away and another lady showed up. This one had pink hair tied in a low bun, light tanned skin and green eyes. She wore the most beautiful pink dress that reached just above her knees with small flowers decorating it. “Idia, baby! Come give your mamma a hug dearest!” Idia, for the second time today, hugged the lady without question.
After the two stopped hugging his mom grabbed him by the face and furrowed her brows “have you been cooped up in your room the whole week again? Idia, baby. You need to stop doing that you’re pale! Isn’t he pale Dimitra?” Dimitra sighed and grabbed Sephie’s forearm gently before pulling her inside “They’ll be at that for a while dear. Why don’t you come inside and meet the rest of the family?”
Sephie turned back to look at her boyfriend and boyfriend’s ,mom who were still at the door talking. “Um” she turned her attention at the blonde walking besides her “I brought some baked goods?” Dimitra looked at the basked the black head was holding up and took it from her hands. She lifted the lid and smiled “muffins, scones, macaroons and some tea leaves?” She looked up at her “thank you darling these look delicious”
“What looks delicious?” The two turned their head to who spoke. It was a dark skinned girl with brown and pink long hair, one of her eyes were gold while the other was pink. She wore an off shoulder red dress that barely reached her knees. Next to her was a guy with light caramel skin, red eyes and a man bun. He wore a black shirt with some beige pants, and for some reason had a dark beige hand bag. Instantly Sephie recognized the girl as Lillian Agape, one of the models that you always saw everywhere.
“Ah. Lillian, Lex. This is Sephie, she brought baked goods and tea leaves” Lillian peered into the basket and grabbed a scone before taking a bite out of it. “Mm” he hummed “this is good Sephie!” A small blush appeared on her face at the compliment. “And I love your hair, it’s so nice! You have to tell me what you do to it!!” Lillian grabbed her hands without warning and smiled at her “you are gorgeous. And so cute! Isn’t she Lexy?” “Yup” said the guy as he ate some muffins. “Where are my manors, As miss Dimitra said. I’m Lillian, the idiot stuffing his face is my boyfriend Lex. And you know Miss Dimitra how?” “Oh I just met her. I’m dating Idia” “what?!”
Sephie jumped a bit at the sudden shout “what do you mean you’re dating Idia?!” Lex came over and asked “You look far too good to be dating Idia” Sephie frowned at that. She didn’t know why people would say things like that. Yes, Idia was a big weird, but he could be a sweetheart when he wanted. And the fact that someone from his family would think something like that was horrible. Before she could say anything, Lillian hit Lex in the chest, earning a small grunt from him “don’t be mean! Idia’s a great guy! Ignore him Sephie, Lex is a dumbass all the time”
She gave a last glare to her boyfriend before locking her arms with Sephie and walking away. Sephie kept glancing back at her. When she came here she didn’t think she’d meet someone like Lillian motherfucking Agape. She was known as one of the most gorgeous people in the world. Her skin was as soft as feathers and hair extremely shiny. She basically looked straight out of a painting. The best part about her? The fact that she managed to become such an inspiration for plus sized people in a community as brutal as modeling. “What type of tea did you bring?” Sephie jumped slightly before looking away quickly, her face going a bit red as she’s been caught staring at the girl besides her. “Pomegranate, Daria asked me to Bering her some today” Lillian only hummed as the two continued to walk.
“Ah, I’m sure you’ve already met our beloved Ortho” Lillian nodded towards the robot who was too preoccupied with what looked to be a tea party with a child and another teenager. “The kid is Xena, She’s Lex and Daria’s youngest sister. The one sitting in the middle is Aison, they’re the second youngest of the Olympia family at 16” Lillia informed her as they walked closer. “Hi you three! I brought a guest with me!” “Hello Sephie Rose!” Greeted Ortho with his usual enthusiasm “How have you been today?” Sephie smiled at him “I’ve been well Ortho, what about you?” “I’ve been well as well”
The kid, who had tan skin one yellow one green eye and brunette bangs while the rest of her hair was grey fashioned into two pigtails, looked up at her with big wondering eyes before holding up a cup to her “Earl grey tea miss?” She asked with a bright smile that reached her eyes. “I’m Xena by the way! Nice to meet you! You’re really pretty!” Sephie smiled back at the child and took the cup from her hand “thank you, you are also very pretty Xena” Xena giggled and went back to her tea. “I’m Aison, if Lillian didn’t tell you” the other teenager, with chocolate skin with white patches here and there, almost black purple wavy hair that almost reached his shoulders and purple eyes while he wore a white and pink shirt underneath a colorful jacket and blue jeans.
Sephie smiled at them as well “well it is lovely to meet you as well, Aison” Aison simply smiled before chugging the still hot tea and pouring himself another cup. Before Sephie could even process what they just did Lillian dragged her to another room. “Sorry about Aison. They’re nice and cool and all, but so weird” Sephie glanced back behind her at the three, a bit worried for the teenager, only to find the three laughing with one another. “Don’t worry Sephie” Lillian reassured with a smile “they’ll be fine, they just like messing around is all”
Sephie returned the smile before averting her gaze and looking back in front of her. She was glad Lillian was with her since Idia was busy being berated by his mom. The day before she was freaking out internally over meeting the Shrouds and Olympia’s, but so far things seemed ok. “Lillian, Lex is looking for you” Hearing that voice somehow made Sephie relax a bit “Good evening Daria” the brunette nodded her head at her in acknowledgment before turning to the pink eyed girl standing arm in arm next to her.
“I’ll continue showing Sephie around. Go deal with your dog” Lillian rolled her eyes at the taller girl “Lex is not a dog, he’s my boyfriend. Honestly sometimes I feel like you hate your brother” Lillian spoke as she let go of the black haired girl next to her “I’ll see you around Sephie” her smile returned as she addressed the younger girl “Daria will take great care of you. I just know it” before leaving she gave Sephie a quick kiss on the cheek and a small wave.
Daria let out a tired sigh before turning around “follow me, Dinner is almost ready so let’s get this over with” Sephie nodded and followed after the girl, who she noted was moving a bit slower then usual. As the two walked in silence Sephie started to wonder where exactly her boyfriend was. There’s no way Acantha still had him at the front door talking about his complexion and diet. Though, from what she heard about the lady she wouldn’t put it past her in all honesty.
“You’ve yet to meet the twins and Nestor, correct?” Sephie was broken out of her thoughts by Daria’s question as they walked into a room. She shook her head in response before stopping as Daria placed a hand in front of her “carful, who knows what those three planted” Sephie blinked in confusion before her eyes wandered to three teenagers. One was on a ladder placing a bucket on top of a door while the other two were at the base of the ladder telling him a bunch of things.
“The one on the Ladder is Nestor. He’s the Kleptomaniac of the family, but he’s also very reliable and often delivers messages from and to dad” the one she was speaking of was a brunet boy wearing a messenger hat and a blue hoodie, she also noticed that his shoe had little wings on, which she thought were adorable.
“The silver haired girl is Cinda. She’s the only one of us that doesn’t go to Royal Sword, She’d also the only one that would rather spend her days with her pets then with actual people” the girl, that as Daria noted had Silver hair, had dark skin and was wearing a crop top with baggy pants and had sunglasses on her head, she also wore an earring in the shape of the sun.
“Lastly is Cyrus, he’s the blond and dad’s favorite. He’s the singer, the doctor, the nicest. Basically he’s everything parents want from their kids. But he’s also the bitchiest of us all” Sephie stared at Cyrus, and just as she thought, it was the Cyrus she thought of. He was taller then she thought, but other then that he was just as he looked in the magazines and album covers.
The two approached and the first to notice was Cinda, who gave the two a small nod before going back to holding the ladder for her brother. “We have a guest you three. This is-“ “Sephie Rose, Idia’s lover, she’s in pomefiore. Yeah I know who she in Darie” Sephie blinked in confusion. Had Idia or Daria told the boy about her. From Daria and the twins expression they weren’t surprised that he knew who she was.
“Cyrus” the blond said and gave the back of her hand a small kiss “pleasure to meet you miss Rose” Sephie’s face went pink a bit at the sudden kiss, Which rewarded Cyrus a slap on the head by his sister. “Ignore him Sephie, he’s like that with everyone” just then Nestor dropped from the top of the ladder. That’s when she noticed that the hat he was wearing casted a shadow over his eyes making them completely invisible. “So, Sephie” he said as he tapped the ladder with a small keychain, causing it to disappear “where is our beloved blue haired cousin?”
Sephie blinked at him but quickly responded “last time I saw him he was talking to his mother at his door” “oh aunt Acantha is here?” Cinda asked as she placed on the pair of glasses “sweet, well, nice to meet you Sephie and goodbye” she gave the Raven haired a small pat on her shoulder and left, not bothering saying goodbye to her siblings. Daria lets out an annoyed sigh before walking away “dinner’s almost ready” “coming Darie!” Nestor responded as he followed behind his eldest sister.
Cyrus smiled at the girl and offered her his elbow. Reluctantly, she looped her arm around his forearm then started walking with him. She glanced up at the blonde, he was a few cm taller than him, and just like the magazines and interviews said, he was gorgeous. “Is everything alright, Miss Rose?” He asked, looking at her with the corner of his eyes “you’re staring”. She quickly looked away, a bit embarrassed by being caught.
“Apologies” she said , still not looking at him “I didn’t mean to stare” Cyrus let out a small chuckle “It’s alright I get it. I’m gorgeous” he said in a joking tone “you are, and I love your songs. The ocean and I is my favorite album of yours” “really? Most people aren’t too fond of that” As the two continued to walk to where Sephie assumed was the dining room, they talked about music, movies, magazines whatever came to their minds. And surprisingly, the two had quite a few interests in common.
Soon they arrived at the dinning room, a large room with a long table in the middle. All the chairs were empty except for two. One was occupied by a guy wearing a simple plain grey jacket. The other chair, which was a bit further from the first guy, was occupied by a man in a black turtleneck. The most notable thing about him was his hair, flaming and blue, just like Idia. “Good evening Uncle, Seraphim” Daria greeted with a nod of her head to the two males. “This is Sephie, She’s a guest. Treat her with respect” She sat down and gestured for Sephie to do the same, which she did with no question “that’s my second eldest brother, Seraphim. And that’s India’s father, and my Uncle, Ambrose” Sephie nodded at the information given to her “it’s a pleasure to meet the two of you” “Like wise miss Sephie” Ambrose responded, not looking up from the book he was reading. Seraphim, however didn’t respond.
Cyrus and Nestor sat a few chairs away from them and next to Seraphim. Or, well, Cyrus did. Nestor decided to rest his cheek on his older brothers’ head and watch him work on whatever it was he was working on. Sephie sat there in silence, unsure if she should start the conversation or not. Cyrus was on his phone, Ambrose was working on some paperwork, Daria was reading and Nestor and Seraphim were talking in hushed voices.
“Good evening everyone” Greeted a soft voice. A small smile tugged at Sephies face as the owner of the voice sat down next to her son, with Cinda sitting at the other side of her. Cyrus greeted his mother with a kiss to her head, while the others gave their own version of a greeting. “The rest are on their way”
After what felt like forever, but was probably only a few minutes, Idia appeared and sat next to her. She smiled at her boyfriend and placed her hand on top of his. In response to that, he looked at her and gave her a small smile before gripping her hand lightly.
In the corner of her eyes, she caught sight of Idia’s mother staring at her as she sat next to her husband. Upon being caught, she gave the teenager a warm smile before she started speaking to her husband.
Soon, almost all the seats at the table were filled. Lex Seraphim and Lillian sat together in silence. Daria sat with Nestor and who she learned was his mother, Lucia. Cinda and Cyrus were bickering about something while their mother sat in between listening. and the shrouds were sat opposite on Sephie and Idia. only two seats remain vacant.
After a few minutes a yell was heard outside the dinning room, causing everyone to go quiet. right after heavy foot steps started making their way to the room, then the door burst open.
standing there, drenched from head to toe in water, was a man with grey hair and dark blue eyes. behind him was a tall dark skinned women trying -and failing- to not laugh. "would any of you" the man walked inside "like to explain this?" he asked, stopping at the head of the table, the lady following him.
"it was raining?" asked Nestor. "You got hosed down?" inquired Daria "You fought a shark?" guessed Aison. "You fell in a puddle" stated Cinda "You showered in your clothes?" asked cyrus. "you took a dive in the swimming pool" "no no, in the lake" said Lex after Lillian.
the man let out a sigh as he rubbed the bridge of his nose and sat down "no, a bucket fell on top of me" he looked around the table "Any ideas how that happened?" "Maybe its Karma" the lady sat next to him said, causing most people around the room to not and agree. "Nester?" the brunet looked up at the man "wanna share something with the class?"
he stayed quiet, then said "You haven't greeted our guest yet" while pointing directly at Sephie. at that moment, everyone's gaze turned to her, the two new arrivals a bit shocked to see, causing Idia to tighten his grip around her hand a bit. "apologies" the lady said "I hadn't realized you were there. I'm Eileen, the lady of the house. this" she pointed at the man "is my idiotic husband, Aegaeon" "I apologize for that whole show Miss?" "Sephie Rose, its a pleasure" "The pleasure is ours, miss rose" Aegeon replied with a nod of his head.
soon the food was being placed on the large table and the room was filled with chatter and laughter. Sephie realized that around his family, Idia was a lot calmer and talkative. he joked around with his cousins, and even got into a debate with his uncle and older cousin. After everyone finished they moved to the garden where they had sweets, her own pastries and teas sat near the center.
everyone was talking and having fun. the adults sat at a table taking while having tea, Cinda and Xena were playing withe some wolves that just appeared, Idia Ortho and Seraphim were gathered around a table talking bout something she couldn't hear, Daria and Lex walked around the large garden talking, which left Lillian and Cyrus sat next to her, Cyrus was playing a ukulele while Lillian was quietly humming along and asking Sephie question about herself.
she smiled softly to herself, she felt like she'll enjoy being part of this chaotic family.
