"Well I had friends to keep me company. Jack, Johnny, Smirnoff." Grinning as she waved the younger woman toward the doors of the service stairwell that would lead them down toward her suite, Sada fell into an easy step beside her. "That's exactly right, less of the cold to feel. Besides, I have plenty of warm jackets downstairs, I can lend you one."

As they made their descent, Sada swelled a little with visible pride even at the mention of her precious club. "Eden's Garden. It was rather exclusive, though, I assume most of my clientele are either dead or shuffling these days." Despite the dark humour in her words, her tone was more or less matter of fact. "It was a gentlemen's club for the crème de la crème of New York high society." Money made people bored and boredom made people horny, which meant her club itself had been highly profitable outside of it's job as a front.

They only needed to go down two floors before they were stepping into the decedent hallway of the tenth floor, Sada pulling her keys from her clutch to open the double dead bolts to let them in. "Make yourself at home."

Painful as it was, Cilla had to agree - she wasn't the only one who had lost someone and this kind of sadness would probably keep them all company throughout the stay. She nodded in appreciation, smiling despite the difficult topic. "Several weeks? All alone in a club? No wonder you enjoy being around people more." If she had a club, she had to at least tolerate other people. Cilla couldn't imagine a 100% introvert running a club and choosing to stay away from people was different from surviving on your own when zombies flooded the streets. The offer was met with enthusiasm since sitting here and staring at her results wouldn't get Cilla anywhere she'd like to be. "And the booze will keep us warm, so what's not to like. I'd love to."

She stood up and fixed her clothes, letting her big hoodie cover her legs better. Being used to low temperatures had its perks; she could stick to her favorite outfits for a little longer and it would probably take a while before Cilla noticed a difference between knowing it was cold and feeling cold. The whole "remember, it's your ghost outfit forever if you die" philosophy made more sense than ever before. "Which club is yours, may I ask? I'm not really a party animal and don't go to clubs often, but there's always a chance I've heard the name."

//Zach's team might have brought some goods with them but he's disappointed they have lost Dalton. the situation they come back to dampens his mood further, but instead of comforting his friends and brother, he locks himself up "for a quarantine", trying to process everything that happened that day.

he tries to comfort Eric ( @denverdav ) when he learns that Cilla ( @cillalicia ) is missing, and talks to Ria ( @rhianwells ) about her husband, but he can't bring himself to talk to Ember ( @emberwexley ) about Skyler's ( @skylerb ) death despite knowing that the longer he waits the more difficult their conversation will be. he only helps her retrieve some of the items from Bane's apartment before anyone else finds it, so his criminal side remains secret.

some time passes and Zach finally finds it in himself to talk to Ember, knowing how painful losing someone is and tries to comfort her. they end up kissing but she breaks into tears. after a bit of talking they agree they should wait until their feelings for Skyler and Courtney allow them to move on.

certain that Vince ( @justaprick ) must have been responsible for Courtney's death and the most recent outbreak, he goes back to his 'investigation' - mostly to keep himself occupied with something and not focus on what went wrong. he shares his doubts with Ria and Ash ( @ashton-ryder ), but decides the community's morale is low enough already and all the theorizing should stay between them. for now, at least.

spring is almost there and Ria starts complaining about her dark blonde roots reaching her jawline, which results in Zach giving her the rest of his hair products. he helps Ria dye her hair cool light blonde and makes a spontaneous decision to shave his blue strands off.

Mini Event 05 - Carbon Monoxide

Who; All residents. Especially Residents of evenly numbered suites.

What; Carbon monoxide leak

When; Morning of Dec 16

-8:00 am: The rear side of the building has been found to have a carbon monoxide leak early in the morning while most residents are at Rosie's Diner for breakfast rations, the alarm raised by Roman who came across Charlie in the third floor hallway cradling an unconscious Skyler, and Cilla who recognized the symptoms and rushed to alert other residents.

-8:10am: Mr. Wexley, alerted by Ember, who assists in first clearing his family and staff out of the penthouse and to the atrium, recruits Valerie, Zach, Mal, and Ashton in assisting in making sure no one else was down in other affected apartments and find the source of the leak.

-8:15am: Lead by instructions from Mr. Wexley, The Butler and Lane start preparing beds on the recliners and sofas in the media and common rooms while instructing everyone at breakfast not go upstairs at any costs, and to remain on the Atrium level while Mal and other volunteers try to find the source. Word spreads quickly that Skyler Bane was nearly a victim of the leak, but was recued in the nick of time by Charlotte Rose and he's been moved to a cot in the diner office to be looked after by her.

-9:00am: The source of the leak is found to be a blocked fireplace in the unoccupied penthouse suite.

-9:30am: Mr. Wexley announces the source of the leak and that the blockage will take most of the day to clear and then affected apartments will need time to air out before residents will be allowed back in those suites, who's doors have been taped up. All Residents are advised to stay on the atrium level until safety of all apartments can be assured.

This mini event will run until the 28th of February. There is no need to pause pre event threads. IC the leak will last four days from Dec 16 - Dec 20th. The W bar is opened for extra living space but is still devoid of alcohol which remains locked up to be rationed. The recliners and sofas in the Media and Common rooms are made up into extra beds for residents, and linens from storage are found and brought up for makeshift beds scattered around the atrium. Mr. Wexley takes up The W's manager's office as a temporary office while unable to be in the Penthouse.

Motioning to the chair across his desk from him, Mr. Wexley returned to sitting in his own seat, having stood when the young lady had made her entrance. "I'm Tobias Wexley Sr, most people around here just call me Tobias, or Mr. W. And who do I have the pleasure of sitting across a desk from? I just like to talk to all our newcomers, ask some questions, and then I can assign you a suite where you'll quarantine for twenty four hours. There's also a small blood test, but I can explain that in more detail when we get to it."

"He was... a friend, I guess." Despite herself and her grief, the idea of saying she'd been involved with him was embarrassing considering the rumours surrounding just how Hawthorn had been found. "I can't believe he's just... gone. I just..." Refusing to let herself cry in front of everyone, she didn't want to make a scene. "He was a really, really nice guy, you know? He was really brave."

Cilla had just joined this community a week ago, she didn't know as much about her neighbors and their relationships as others, but she recognized this emotion on Ember's face easily. She could tell where it was coming from and it made her feel so sorry, she quickly forgot where Hawthorn had been found and the circumstances surrounding his death. "I'm so sorry," she said softly. "Was he... a good friend of yours? "

Rosie wouldn't know a panic attack from a gas attack; thankfully others did. She was sorry so many had to go through the ordeal, but on the list of problems attacking the Wexley, it wasn't at the top what with all the infected outside. Everyone's immunization tests had only seemed to only make the residents more jumpy.

Rosie nodded as she saw to everyone's breakfast herself and knew for certain he'd gotten a share, "If we do anything here right it's make sure everyone gets breakfast."

She hadn't picked up on Cilla's sly notion for seconds. "If he doesn't eat after waking up then it's still there for him when him later. I'm glad you're up to eating -- you look much better than before."

She had seen and experienced this before first-hand, a few winters prior. Nausea, dizziness, and loss of consciousness, seemingly out of nowhere... It's a miracle she's still alive, and now, thanks to Charlie, Skyler could tell the same story about himself – everything ended well for him and he seemed to regain consciousness fairly quickly.

"Cold, but still delicious," she told the person sitting next to her, finishing her breakfast that had been interrupted so brutally. "D'you think Skyler has already had breakfast?" Of course, Cilla wasn't worried if the man could be hungry, but if there was a chance for seconds. "I'm positive his appetite has dropped below zero."
