It's my birthday yet again and I just want to say thank you for always answering my requests and I love Agni very much ( What does a Tural vacation look like with the Valinau family <3
(HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAR <3)
Estinien Varlineau was often impressed with his wife, though in this moment, he was a mix of impressed, slightly scared, and incredibly turned on.
"Bakool Ja Ja, you stepped on my bloody tacos when we first met, and since I saved the world...again...and you're....well, both of you aren't shitheads anymore, I would greatly appreciate if you buy me replacement tacos." She crossed her arms over her amazing, perfect, no notes chest with her very best "I am not amused" expression on her pretty face.
The two heads of Bakool Ja Ja stared at each other and then glanced down at Agnes.
"I suppose we could--" The Head of Reason began but stopped when he saw the Warrior of Light glare. "Yes, of course."
Estinien leaned towards the sleeping Hamignant and Marcelin (napping in the stroller Cid made specifically for Agi) and muttered, "See boys, that's a masterclass by Mummy. One look from her, and that two-headed bastard is buying her tacos."
"'aco!!!!!" Esme squealed, clapping her hands as she I wouldn't call it "drawing" but she's surely doing something with crayons on that paper. "'aco!"
He chuckled. "Shhh, inside voice, Es. The boys are asleep."
The toddler brought a finger to her lips and loudly said, "Shhh brutters seepin'."
After a few minutes, a grinning Agnes returned with a plate of frankly delicious-looking tacos and a thoroughly chastised Bakool Ja Ja.
"Now," she sat next to Esme at the table and licked her lips. Oh, it's taco time for sure. "Thank you so much, Bakool Ja Ja, and remember, if I hear you've been acting like a twat, I'll be coming to visit you...and your mother." That two-headed bloke...blokes? Blokes. Those blokes look like Agi threatened him with Solar Bahamut.
"Yes, Mrs. Agi." The dumb head said quickly, and then Bakool Ja Ja was gone.
MRS. AGI?!?!? HOW IS SHE MRS. AGI HERE?!?! HAVE THEY BEEN TALKING TO THE NEIGHBOR KIDS IN RADZ-AT-HAN?!?!
As Agnes bit into the first taco, she practically moaned. Shit. Fuck. Maybe we can leave the kids with Wuk Lamat for a few bells... "Mmmm, love! These are so good! Are you sure you don't want one?"
He shook his head. "Nay. You enjoy."
Perhaps we can enjoy each other later? Please? Just a cuddle and maybe a bit more?
"'aco! 'ummy 'aco!"
Ruffling her daughter's dark red hair, Agnes giggled. "Yes, my little love! Mummy has tacos!" Mayhap later, Mummy will have some co-- "Estinien."
He blinked. "Aye, my angel?"
Oh fuck me, she's giving me the little pout. "I love you. I know you had your reservations about bringing the children with us, but I think it's worked out, no?"
"Heh, I love you too. It has worked out, even when the world was threatened." He chuckled. "Nothing's ever simple with you, Agi."
Her response was to take a frankly large bite of a taco and smile widely.
And I wouldn't have it any other way, my love.

i love Cid/Fortuna they are so real to me. 26, 49, and then pick your favorite to talk about in the ask game :3c
If I can get everyone to look at Cid and be like "that's Fortuna's husband" then I will have succeeded. They r so everything
26) What sacrifices do they make for each other?
They both have to sacrifice a little bit of their sanity for different reasons. Cid knows Fortuna is the Warrior of Light and she'll be in danger all the time, going to different worlds and even back in time, and despite how insanely capable she is he cannot help but always worry about her, at least a little bit. He knows she'll always make it out but every time she goes off he can't help but hear a voice in the back of his head ask if that's going to be the last time he sees her. So Cid sacrifices a little bit of his sanity to worry, but she always come back just fine.
Fortuna, meanwhile, will wonder when she's off on an adventure if her husband has decided to create a new project to keep him busy and worry he will blow himself up. Listen I've already told you how he managed to turn a grill into something that freezes and encased another in a block of ice by reversing its properties. Cid is an engineering marvel and Fortuna KNOWS it's only a matter of time before she's off in, for example, Radz-at-Han, and hears "Oh yeah the Ironworks exploded. Badly." Fortunately she keeps in constant contact with Jessie who keeps Cid in line when she's not there but Cid has also burned off his eyebrows before when Fortuna was away and singed some of his beard. He misses his wife so so much he just goes stupid on inventions while he waits for her to return. And Fortuna knows this so she sacrifices some of her sanity wondering if he's going to finally try and make something to bring spring back to Ishgard.
Their kids keep him busy, of course, so he's not as liable to go crazy go stupid when they're around, because he is NOT doing anything if they're in the house. But, say they're at someone's house for a sleepover, spending the day with Auntie Tataru, they're out of the house... there are no guarantees.
49) Do they keep secrets from each other?
Cid and Fortuna are opens books about everything with each other. They don't feel a need to be secretive about anything other than birthday/nameday or anniversary gifts. There have been times where Fortuna has perhaps fibbed a little about how actually dangerous something is to keep Cid from going mad with worry, but she always comes clean in the end. And Cid always knows when she does this and knows she's just trying to have him not worry, but it doesn't bother him at all because it's what gives her peace of mind. (Not like it matters in the end as she always tells him the full truth but it still happens anyway.)
AND MY FAVORITE QUESTION HMMMMM...... I'm going with 39 because if I picked 41 - What would they do if they lost each other - I'd cry writing it. Cid has plot armor I do not see it and Square Enix do not make a liar or fool out of me!!
39) When and how did they admit that they loved each other?
Let's go back to old Praetorium. There was a cutscene right after the first boss, where you talk with Cid and he tells you to go on ahead and he'll remain there. He says "We'll stay in contact via linkpearl. Be careful, alright?" Do you know how much that meant to me. As a wolshipper. Seeing that for the first time. I blew up I exploded. Anyway right then is when they admit it, not so much in words, though. They stand there for a moment after he tells her to be careful, and then they both go in for the kiss. They just knew it was going to happen right there.
And Fortuna tells him she had to do that before she rushed off into danger. Cid says he was really hoping she would. He repeats himself and tells her to be careful before she goes off. Cid goes to say "I love you" but Fortuna stops him and says "Let me survive this first. Then you can say it."
Then the rest of Prae happens and the Ultima Weapon and beating up Lahabrea when it was an 8-person smackdown. Cid and everyone outside and he's freaking out that he can't get in contact with Fortuna, knowing he can't fly into the Praetorium to save her. Fortuna leaping out on the magitek armor and Cid going "Yes! The hero returns!" He does go up and helps her get down, and he really wants to kiss her again. Fortuna can tell and she goes "What, here? NOW? In front of everyone?" She's so embarrassed but Cid points out "Didn't you say I should let you survive this first? Well, you survived." And she's a woman of her word, and she goes, "Okay. You can say it." And he pulls her in for a quick kiss and whispers so only she can hear it "I love you" and she says "I love you, too."
(Fortuna was embarrassed at first that they're doing a whole public display of affection in front of EVERYONE but after A Realm Reborn she did just stop caring. During the Ivalice raids when Cid is there she would just stand behind him and drape her arms around him and rest her head on top of his as he kept on hand on an arm and kept the other free for gesturing. They are so truly madly deeply in love with each other it hurts. They will do PDA and they do not care who sees it.)
Also as a bonus I'm sharing Fortuna's playlist which is essentially a Fortuna/Cid playlist because you CANNOT separate them. Package deal.
THANK YOU RHYS MWAH :chu:

ILLYRIA: considered herself aromantic & poly & self identified as a slut until she met Haurchefant. Then they were co-sluts & he was her fiancee.
Yeah.
Also she found out after the Vault that she was pregnant. So. Also a Yeah. (there's a reason that in the timeline where she's The WoL she basically told Feo Ul to put her in a coma and let other people take over the job)
Anyway in the Ryuu & Kian timeline she's basically yelling at Estinien to hold still for more than 30 seconds, not even for sex reasons (though that would be nice!) but for Cathartic Conversations about Stuff reasons
***
RYUU: "Hi I'm aro-ace except woah this Ysayle lady is hot AND has a point about dragons -- nope I'll never love again! Except this Y'shtola lady is attractive & oh no not again. And wow Lyse is cute AF but she's with my childhood friend Kian so I'll keep a respectful distance. But mainly, there's NO WAY I could POSSIBLY fall for my childhood friend, the Warrior of Light, Kian Asmadi. ESPECIALLY not after we find out that our Ancient Unsundered selves were married. I'm absolutely not entertaining wild fantasies about sex between Lyse, Y'shtola, myself, and Kian, that's very stupi--- oh no Endwalker happened I guess. Whoops we fucked on top of Anyx Trine so loud my cousin* Fylgja trolled us by bringing us breakfast afterwards & complimented my "singing voice." Uh. Oh no Y'shtola and G'raha are teasing us about Hyur/Elezen hangups about polyamory.
Oh no Lyse is like "I get a wedding first but if you idiots don't start planning right after I'm doing it FOR you and marrying you BOTH. AND Shtola.
Y'shtola: /sage nod
G'raha: I wish both WoL's would make of me a sandwich. ... I mean. ... Nevermind. * cousin Fylgja: Ryuu is basically the Paul Atredies to a heretic breeding program designed to "bring back" Ratatoskr by uniting various Elezen bloodlines of the people who, um, ate her. Rather, her grandparents went "fuck no we're not letting Nidhogg kill our daughter because this entire endeavor is stupid" and then said daughter married a man who was decidedly Not the Correct Bloodline (tm). Regardless, she reads as one of Ratatoskr's Brood to dragons, and Vrtra, Azdaja, Tiamat, Hraesvelgr, and Estinien are all like "!!! SISTER" at her. Estinien much to his consternation and I DONT EVEN KNOW HER. NEVER MET HER. ... I WILL FUCKING EVISCERATE YOU IF YOU HURT HER, BUT TBH SHE'S PROBABLY ALREADY KILLED YOUR ASS ANYWAY.
***
SESHAT: no she's super aro ace. She's too busy building stuff. Sex is something Cid and Nero do.
***
~bonus Ancients~
Dionysos: sex and sexuality are societal constructs. I could be having sex RIGHT NOW. you don't know. is there someone under my robes sucking me off right now? Does that bother you?
Hyperion: THAT'S MY WIFE /points at Selene
Hyperion: and that's my wife's girlfriend Sappho and this person my wife had like three days of mind blowing sex with for diplomacy reasons and this is my wife's [this goes on for a while]
Hyperion: and that's my ... .... Let's not talk about Hades ok, but that's my other fuckbuddy Hythlodaeus, and -- /this goes on
Seshat the Elder: ???? /Too busy coming up with new kinds of Math and wanting to be a kitty cat. Didn't hear the question.
I'm at work most of this afternoon (tragic) and there's only one thing that can get me through the day,,,,
tell me about your wol/oc's relationship status right now!
taken? single? it's complicated? happily married or still looking for that special someone? if they're generally uninterested in romantic relationships, how are things with their friends?

Thoughts on Patch 3.56 Story Quests *MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD*
Sorry it’s taken me a little while to get around to this but work’s been keeping me busy. So you want to hear my thoughts on Patch 3.56′s Story Quests, the finale to Heavensward? Well tough, I’m going to say them anyway!
Surely you know the drill by now. A “Keep Reading” is being thrown down to protect people from spoilers, yadda yadda yadda, MAJOR SPOILERS FROM ALL OVER FFXIV AHEAD, read at your own risk and all that. Let’s get this done for the final time in Heavensward.
I’m going to be honest with you here guys... I was a little underwhelmed by the finale to Heavensward. It wasn’t... bad per say, but when you consider ALL that we went through at the end of A Realm Reborn this seemed a bit... small in comparison. Well, maybe that’s a BIT unfair to say.
Tumblr media
After all we got this epic freaking battle between Omega and Shinryu! That was pretty awesome! Maybe I feel a bit underwhelmed though because it didn’t feel as personal for our characters like A Realm Reborn’s ending did. I mean, we were branded criminals, separated from our friends, an important figure was presumed dead, Raubahn lost his freaking arm, a LOT of crap was happening at once. But the thing also was: We’d been building up to that point as well. As well as dealing with the stuff with Iceheart getting us more involved with Ishgard’s issues there was also an ongoing coup being staged in Ul-dah, and both plot points eventually came together to bring us into Heavensward.
Ala Mhigo and Doma however have only been brought up a few times in Heavensward’s plot. While we did get the plot point with The Griffon in Patch 3.4, there wasn’t a heck of a lot of build up to his revolt. I think The Griffon probably should have been made a factor of the plot a LOT sooner than he was. Sure, we got that brief shot of his mask and all, but what I mean is that he should have been properly integrated into the story sooner as an issue we had to deal with on top of dealing with the ending the Dragonsong War stuff. More mention of Omega would have been welcomed too. That way it would feel more like we built up to this moment and it would feel more satisfying to see it play out. Heck, maybe the Warriors of Darkness could have played more of a role in this thing rather than their story just coming to an abrupt end.
In the end what I felt we were left with was just “Hey here’s a big epic battle! Looks cool right?! Now go to Ala Mhigo and begin Stormblood!” I don’t mean to imply this ending was bad... just a bit underwhelming... and considering it involved a giant tokusatsu fight... that’s a real shame...
However, I don’t only have negative things to say about this ending.
Tumblr media
I LOVE this Gosetsu guy already! In just a few short scenes he’s become one of my favourite new NPC characters! That speaks wonders for how well written of a character he is. It was also nice to get a preview of what’s to come with Samurai with this guy. I can’t wait to find out more about him in Stormblood!
Tumblr media
... Tataru... marry me... I’m not beating around the bush anymore, I want you to be my wife... not my “waifu”, my wife! I want to start a family with you and have 400 babies! ANYBODY who has THAT kind of comeback for Nero’s snobbishness has a one way ticket to the center of my heart! Oh, speaking of:
Tumblr media
YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD! HOW are you back?! I just... WHY WON’T YOU DIE?! Though I do like how NOBODY trusts him and for good reason! I really like how Cid even mentions the crap he pulled LAST time we trusted him during the Crystal Tower stuff. If anything Nero, you’ve earned the right of being called this game’s answer to Starscream!
That being said though... I LOVED Nero’s dialogue in these quests. He’s such and arrogant, egotistical, snobby prick... and it’s hard not to love him for it! Does that mean I believe the character’s turned over a new leaf? HELL NO! I KNOW he’s up to something! He has an ulterior motive involving Omega, and it probably involves gaining absolute power! But his dialogue and interactions (especially with Tataru) make him such a great villain. You could say I enjoy hating his guts! He’s a complete prick and he KNOWS it!
Tumblr media
Still, he DID lend us his Magitek Armour to go on a rampage with so... I’ll give him points for that. When this thing flew in I was thinking (and Pepean’s face indicated he was thinking the same thing) “Oh dis gon’ be gooooooooood!”
Well I suppose that’s everything isn’t it? There’s nothing else that happened which I need to talk about. Nope. Nothing at all. That’s it. So as always if there’s anything else you want my-
Tumblr media
Ah right... that... So, our lady in red finally has a name. Looks like people were right in their theories, she is indeed Yda... or rather, who we knew as “Yda”. It’s nice to finally see the real you... Lyse. Sadly, I’d kind of already figured this out in some of the things Papalymo said back in 3.4, in fact if you go back and read my thoughts on it you can see I was even theorizing that the person we know as “Yda” isn’t the real Yda. I probably wasn’t the only one who worked it out either. This does in fact all make sense though. I often wondered why our Yda was in the Circle of Knowing when she didn’t have the intelligence the others possessed. Clearly she didn’t understand the stuff they studied like the others did, so why did Louisoix welcome her in? Now it all comes together, this isn’t the Yda who was in the Circle of Knowing. This was some pretty heavy and hard hitting stuff. The only thing I would have done differently with this scene is that I would have had her reveal this in front of ALL the Scions. I know Y’shtola and Thancred already knew, but still I think they all needed to be present in this scene. Heck... Thancred has had barely ANY involvement in this final chapter at all! In any case, I did enjoy this scene and it really brought to light just HOW important Papalymo was to Lyse. Like I said last time: Whether you think it was romantic or just a close friendship there’s no denying that the two loved each other very much. Personally I think she was a little in love with him, whether those feels were returned or not I don’t know, but that’s what I think at least.
Oh and by the way: What is it with FFXIV finales and killing Lalafells?! Nanamo and Telegi in A Realm Reborn (though the former turned out to be alive, but at the time we THOUGHT she was dead) and now Papalymo in Heavensward! Don’t YOU start embracing the Lalabuse now Square! You’re better than this! Why not kill of some of the Miqo’tes instead! Let those snobby slut players know how WE feel when they say “Lalafells don’t matter”! (I’m only joking by the way Miqo’te players! I mean that entirely in jest, it’s only a game after all).
So yeah overall my feelings on this finale are... mixed. There’s some good factors about it but... I feel a bit underwhelmed by it, though hopefully you can understand my reasons why. If you enjoyed it then that’s great, you’re free to disagree with me. It’s not even that I didn’t enjoy it but you get that by now I’m sure. Am I still looking forward to Stormblood? Absolutely. Regardless of how I feel about this finale I know that Stormblood is a new beginning and that Square will have plenty of epic stuff planned for it.
If you agree with me or not do be sure to let me know. If there’s anything I left out that you want to know my opinions on do feel free to ask. I’ll see you all in Stormblood. May you ever walk in the light of the crystal.

sibling reunion;
Finally! The reunion I’ve put off writing. Reminder that my Nero blog (and the Nero in this fic) is @exscientiavir. This takes place after Luci’s thread with @vandarnus, probably by a day or so.
Nero had no idea what time it was, once again -- it was some point around dawn, perhaps, but he couldn’t entirely tell as Mor Dhona was experiencing that odd sort of aetheric gloom that happened at times, making it incredibly hard to tell what color the sky actually was. But it seemed like dawn, maybe? Who knew.
It had been another few long, long days he’d spent in Carteneau, especially since the Alliance had up and decided to run a skirmish with its Grand Company members in the middle of that. He’d tried to hide best he could, which had mixed results -- he’s half sure he’d been seen, but that the adventurer had just assumed he was one of theirs and ran off again. Even so, it was harrowing to realize there were a good several dozen adventurers running hither and yon fulms away from him, weapons drawn.
But he couldn’t just...stop. Even if Thancred was busy enough to be unable to come along, he still had to go. With that eikon hovering above Baelsar’s Wall...they needed Omega. They needed him. He had to finish his work. If he did this...if he did this he’d achieve all he’d ever wanted, wouldn’t he? People would know his name. Maybe not as better than Cid, but they would know him. Eorzea would know him as the man who’d helped save them. It was nothing like his dreams of years past, when he was Tribunus, but...the end result was still the same. He’d be known. He’d be lauded and he’d be...he’d be worth something. He had to admit that last one to himself, painful as it was. But his father’s words never left him, and so...so he had to prove he was worth something. Worth more than his failures. And if he did this…
His thoughts are rather immediately and rudely interrupted by something small and egg-shaped nearly crashing right into him, whirring and chirping frantically. ‘Master, Master! It’s you!’
“Hold on, hold on,” Nero managed, trying to settle the little thing that was still beeping at him desperately. “Is that-- Amicus?” His eyes widened. “Amicus?! What the-- what are you doing here, where’s--”
“Amicus!” A young woman’s voice echoed around the corner, and she herself followed -- mid-twenties, blonde hair in a braid, dressed in plain Eorzean-style clothes...he didn’t recognize her at first, but...gods. It had to be her, who else? When she turned, the third eye on her forehead was unhidden, and he knew. She stopped dead when she was him holding the node, her own eyes widening as she took in the sight before her.
The last time she’d seen him he’d been a slight, small, gangly boy of twelve, not quite thirteen yet, with a mop of hair and bright eyes that a decade of abuse at the hands of their father and eldest brother had dimmed. He’d left with Minister-Provost nan Garlond (Cid’s father) to the Academy, and that had been that. He’d written, of course, but then he’d graduated second six years later and her father had forbidden her from writing again. He’d vanished then, disappearing into the military, and...and now, he was here. For the first time in two decades.
She hadn’t changed much, she knew that -- taller, of course, and older. A young woman instead of a tiny five year-old with ribbons in her hair. But she was still mostly the same, untouched by the ravages of life. Easily recognizable. But her brother...oh, her brother…
He’d filled out, of course -- skinny and gangly no longer, but tall (every bit inheriting the Scaevas’ natural height) and broad-shouldered. Built like a soldier...something she knew he’d never wanted. His hands were scarred and callused, decades of work without gloves leaving countless scrapes and burns marked on knuckles and fingers. And his face...his face, with the purple shadows thick under his eyes, the cheeks unshaven, his hair a disheveled mess...he looked exhausted, life having taken its toll. Exhausted and worn down.
“Nero?” She ventured, unable to tear her eyes away.
He didn’t even register that he’d let go of Amicus -- he’s crossing the room in seconds, gathering his little sister in his arms and hugging her as tight as he can manage. She let out a soft gasp, but returned the gesture, hands clutching at his coat. Neither of them were sure who started crying first, but soon they both are, slowly sliding to the floor as they wept into each other. Two decades apart, but they were still siblings. Still each other’s favorite, the only ally in a household that treated them terribly.
“Why--” Nero finally croaked out, hoarse from his tears. “How are you here? Did you come alone? Are you-- what did Father--” He had dozens of questions, but they tapered off -- too emotionally exhausted to put them into words.
Lucilia sniffled. “He disowned you,” she said, and she could barely watch him flinch as if slapped, cringing low as if he were still a child waiting to be beaten. Even after all these years away, their father was still a terrible spectre at his back, wasn’t he? “After-- after you disappeared, when the XIVth fell. He disowned you, and I-- I couldn’t…” She shook her head. “I ran away. I didn’t want to stay there and wait to be married off to some ugly old man for political reasons, when the only family I ever really cared about is here all alone. Valens is okay, but…” But he’s still too afraid to act. Not that she blamed him -- he’d been the main target after Nero left, his androgynous appearance and preference for ‘women’s work’ the things Father had tried to get rid of. It hadn’t worked, but Valens had folded inwards, terrified and hurting. He was sweet, but there would be no protection there.
She shook her head, smiling a little sadly. “I stole Father’s sword and some money and sneaked onto one of the supply transports, bribed someone to let me onto a ship bound to Ala Mhigo. And then I just...sneaked onto a supply transport heading to the wall, and got into the Shroud that way.” She laughed weakly. “It was terrifying, but...you were here. So I wasn’t going to let it stop me.”
He hugged her tightly when she finished. “Gods,” he managed. “You’ve gotten so damned brave. I don’t know if I could have done that. You stole his sword, Luci…” He laughed himself, strained and weak. “He’ll kill you, if you go back. That or beat you senseless.”
“He won’t,” she said bitterly. “I need to stay pretty so he can sell me off for marriage. He’d probably just lock me in my room until it was time to be sent away to my new husband’s place.” She made a face at that, burying herself into her brother’s arms. “I hate him. I hate him and Ennius. They hurt you, and they hurt Val, and mother doesn’t give a damn, and I’m just...I’m a piece of furniture at best and a bargaining chip at worst. I’m a woman. All I’m good for is to be married off. We’re not ranked enough for me to have studied medicine, and too far from the capital besides. So all I am is a wife-to-be, and I-- I refuse that.”
Nero smiled faintly. “So you’re here,” he said. “You’ll...I think you’ll like it here. It’s nothing like home, but I think it’ll suit you fine.” It was big and bright and full of color and life, variety and adventure...his baby sister would flourish. Hells, she was in the Stones with him -- that thought made him blink. “How did you end up here, of all places?” He asked. “This is…”
“Thancred,” she said with a laugh, and he had to do the same. “I ran into him when I got to the Toll, and he recognized me as Garlean, and he realized I was your sister after we spoke. So he offered his help.”
Nero looked amused. “He’s good at that, apparently,” he admitted. “There was a bit of a mishap, and we...ended up befriending one another, I suppose. It was neither of our intentions, but so it goes.”
“Well,” she said. “At least you have a friend besides Cid!”
That got him to laugh again, leaning his forehead against her shoulder. “I suppose,” he muttered. “Though I haven’t seen the man in some time. He’s always busy running around with the local heroes, and I’ve…” Tried to avoid him, he thought, but doesn’t say. “He’s doing well for himself, though.”
“I heard,” Luci said, and then her voice grows concerned. “And I heard about all that stuff that happened with that Crystal Tower. Thancred told me.”
Nero groaned, silently cursing the Scion for telling her, and Luci smiles thinly. “I’m glad you’re okay,” she said. “And I suppose I owe that Warrior of Light for saving your dumb ass...and I’m here now, so you won’t be alone, okay?”
“Alright,” Nero said, unable to disguise how much that meant to him. “I’m glad you’re here, Luci.”
He won’t be alone...gods, that sounds good. His family is here, the only family that mattered. And he was...this was his home now, for better or worse, wasn’t it? Everything he cared about -- Cid, Lucilia, the Allagan ruins that so fascinated him -- it was all here. He would never completely cut the ties to his motherland, of course, but...this was home. Eorzea was home.
And by gods, he’d make sure it stayed safe. He didn’t want to lose the place he’d come to belong, the place Cid loved so much, the place his sister had travelled to just for him.

14 for your wolship!
14) Anything they both dread?
What Cid and Fortuna both dread is mainly Fortuna dying. She's the one going out and saving the world and from time to time Cid helps - and they do PDA even when it's Saving The World stuff and are very cute and sometimes it's so cute it's sick but what can you do - but when he isn't he's just waiting for any kind of word that she's okay. When she goes off to the First he is raising their daughter mostly alone - he'll go to the Rising Stones and hang out with literally anyone he can find so he doesn't go mad with worry also he's new to the whole dad thing and he needs all the help he can get, also Tataru makes the baby clothes it's VERY cute - and she's back fairly soon. It feels like that to them anyway, but it's a lot longer on the First since time passes differently and all that.
In "Endwalker" he's VERY aware of the stakes, and that while going to a completely different world entirely is one thing, going to the far edges of the universe is completely different and absolutely terrifying to him. That's mainly because he's helping build the ship that's going to get all of them there so he's doing tons of hard work making sure everything is perfect and the trip goes smoothly, but the worst part is the waiting. Cid knows Fortuna will succeed, she always does, it's just feeling the minutes and the hours pass by so slowly it's agonizing. He's pacing around all nervous, trying to find something to build or fix, finding something to work on, overthinking, and then snapping a wrench in half because he cannot bear thinking about living in a world without Fortuna. Nero's just off to the side seeing Cid accidentally break tools like 👁️👁️ okay I hope Jessie doesn't charge us for that because he cannot read the room.
And sure, Cid can get into some factory accident and there's a horrible explosion that mortally wounds or maims him, even though he is incredibly careful. Most of the time, anyway, because when Fortuna is off on an adventure he comes up with increasingly wild inventions to take up time. And then she'll come home and be like "Why'd you make the grill freeze things instead of cook things" and he just says it was because he got bored and missed her so much. Cid is very much a malewife and he won't shut up about being married to the Warrior of Light it's very cute.
But at the core of it they dread losing each other, or being separated, or having to live without the other. That's what keeps them up and what they have nightmares about and dread more than anything.
Thank you !! :]
