ghost rei, at the root of it all, highlighted rei’s solitude. the story itself did a damn good job of it lol, rei so far is the only person to have taken down his ghost without having his team fight alongside him. but some other interesting things to note lol

ghost rei, while using the kids’ spiritual energy for something (we haven’t yet learned what this energy is for) genuinely wanted to protect the children from a world that’s made up of lies

he point blank says that ‘he will guide the children away from a life full of mistakes and setbacks’

(a ghost kuukou parallel mind you)

ghost rei schemed to have a confrontation with rei, believing he would understand that their minds together, a real mind and one of artificial intelligence, but still rei, can solve the mysteries of mira

(a ghost jakurai parallel might i add)

and ghost rei’s ultimate goal in all this was to free himself from the unknown in a sense. if he learns why he was created and what he was meant to do, he can use that to shape his own goals and his own world and unchain himself that’s bound to data

(directly opposes ghost ichiro relying on his original’s data)

something i thought was neat was how in order help ghost rei’s pass on peacefully (lol) about the kids navigating reality, he pointed to sasara and rosho actually. to rei, these two are adult figures the youth can rely on
