The disgraced former DC Comics writer turned Comicsgater, Chuck Dixon, was so blatantly homophobic & puritanically sex-negative in his behind-the-scenes comments, that artists working on his books at DC repeatedly made the art as intentionally queer-coded & homoerotic as possible, just to piss Dixon off!

That has got to be one of the most ingenious ways of trolling a bigot that I have ever heard of! The fantastic YouTuber Dane Whitman from “Actual Fandom/Forced Adversity” even covered this thread in detail on one of his livestreams!

I've fallen down the DC comic rabbit hole. Who are your favourite characters and why?

My absolute top two are Connor Hawke and Kyle Rayner. Connor is just so fun and different from other characters. He was on the justice league for a minute and said what the fuck I just have a bow and arrow I am out of here. Also Chuck Dixon his writer was so puritan and misogynistic that he ended up making the most asexual homoromantic character that has ever existed. Connor is actually canon asexual now in canon using his 90s run as a basis for it.

And Kyle because he protected the entire universe on his own for years and is just so special and well you have to read his 1990 Green Lantern run to see I'm afraid

Connor and Kyle also used to be best friends and Kyle asked Connor is he was gay like on their second meeting. Kyle fun fact is also far as I have ever seen the only person to drop an uncensored faggot and he did on 9/11 in 2002
