My Year of Art.❤️

JANUARY - Actually my last big piece for Oceanhorn. Depicted is Chronos, the god of time and space, about to give judgement...

FEBRUARY - ... judgement for this man: Mesmeroth. Here without the mask in a more modern setting. I aaaaaactually did this in Jan, too, but I have nothing for February .... T_T

MARCH - Due to the new job, I couldn't finish the illustrations for an Oceanhorn short story. But I shared what I had.

APRIL - The only thing I published was another part of a year-long commission: telling the story of Ivan Dreyar from Fairy Tail. (Oh, also, AFK Journey dropped but no art yet).

MAY - Help. Valen arrived. I didn't think I'd draw more. I seriously did NOT think I'd draw more.

JUNE - Still not believing I'd draw so much more. But, I was too tempted to draw Valen in AFK Arena style, so...

JULY - More doodles and sketches. Also this small masterpiece: a pin-up Valen.

AUGUST - My famous art trade with @feli026 . The start of my AFKJ style journey. <3 I am finally joining the Discord and apply for the EsperiArt role.

SEPTEMBER - There we go. The new Season came round and I celebrated it with a Sinbad (before I knew his personality). I also completed my Knight Of The Dark story with Lavinia (a great achievement for me).

OCTOBER - That's why she's properly featured for October: Lavinia, my AFK Journey OC.

NOVEMBER - Toughest group picture to date: Thanksgiving for the Maulers. I am exhausted from work, but I am looking forward to the Christmas break.

DECEMBER - Finally a chance to draw a Christmas themed image featuring Hogan, Valen and Fay. A worthy conclusion to the year, full of colourful art, new friends made and a great game experienced.

We’re about to start off strong

So, I know that the reason incest is in mythology is because one person or one small group of people create the world and then the gods, so it’s hard to ignore. However, I wouldn’t want to put that into a personal story, let alone an existing work that I’ve enjoyed since childhood.

The world began with the creation of Raine, the goddess of rulership. Along with Raine was Alexiares (god of the underworld (similar to Hades’s roll in Greek mythology), the celestial spirt king (whose name in mythology is Atlas and is obviously a star god), Adohira (goddess of chaos, art, and creativity), and Elm (planet god).

Raine as the goddess of rulership had the others begin to make the world. As they did so, other gods like Chronos and Ikusa-Tsunagi (both of which canonically exist in fairy tail) poofed into existence. Raine soon married Alexiares. She soon was pregnant, except, the children weren’t her husband’s but Atlas’s. In an attempt to hide the affair, she alters their dna to fit both fathers. This is the birth of Ankhseram (another god of death who I’ve also combined with darkness, space, mourning and loss, revenge for the dead, and balance) and Mirakand (god of the moon, chaos, fun, pleasure, and revenge for the bored).

However, a ruler is a person in power, and power corrupts. So she has another affair, but this time with Elm. This produces Edith (war, metal, courage, and revenge for soldiers), Junto (the ocean, purity, and revenge for the pure), Katsumi (air, victory, beauty, pride, and revenge for the betrayed), and Sophia (earth, wisdom, magic, and revenge for the earth). This one wasn’t covered up, and led to the world they were building falling apart. The two do make up, but their marriage is never the same.

And finally, she cheats once more with Atlas again. She hides the parentage again, as she had lost some of her power and couldn’t afford the end of her marriage. This produces Kuno (fire, stars, love, the hearth, food, luck, and revenge for love) and Ophelia (light, goodness, life, family, healing, music and dance, and revenge for family).

The world is being recreated and now with life and fire/ food (something that makes humans, humans) life begins to take hold on the planet. Humans sprout up and the humans love them. In truth to their godhood, Mirakand and Adohira create copies of the world in which something is different, creating edolas and elentear and all the other worlds.

At some point, Ophelia and Ankhseram get into a fight as humans develop in magic. Magic can be wonderful and is often portrayed as such. And Ophelia is seeing how people are using it to help others. Ankhseram, however, sees the dangerous and evil stuff they are doing with it. Sophia, despite being the goddess of magic, didn’t take sides as she believes that with good comes bad.

The fight escalates and causes conflict within the gods. Kuno sides with Ophelia. Most of the others of the born ones (which are Raine’s children as they are the only ones that were born) stay out of the conflict, Mirakand flip flopping for fun. Due to the anger between them, Ankhseram creates a curse that targets the love of people and life, an attack on his younger siblings. However, he does still love them, so they are immune to it.

They do end the conflict and Ophelia creates laws for all of her creations (humans, dragons, animals, etc). They are now unable to force others to or bring back the dead themselves. They also can’t travel to other worlds with malicious intentions. These are enforced by Ophelia personally punishing them, unlike Ankhseram’s curse.

As time goes on, the gods get bored of the creatures on the planets. They begin to mess with them, causing chaos to every live creature. Now, Raine is a power hungry ruler, bad partner, and a bad mother, but the gods are destroying the life below and will until it’s all gone. So she makes a decree saying that the gods will split into two groups. Group A and group B. Group A will head down to the planet and live a human-like life as a kinda human. They will have to prove they are worthy of their god title. Then, once everyone but the born’s parents have died. They are left alive because they are the born’s parents. So they stay down to put the borns on the planets. Then they go through the cycle.

It’s different for each world. In earth land they get three lives and stop aging at 25. Everything can end a life except for aging. In edolas they only have one life due to the magic levels. In elentear they have five lives. It’s based on magic levels in each world. (Now that edolas has no magic that people can wield (you know that quote that’s like just because you can explain it doesn’t mean it’s not magic, like science. Science still exists in edolas, so they still have magic, just not wieldable) they age).

They also aren’t different people. Like in people in edolas have different smells and magic energies than the people in earth land. They aren’t the same. But reincarnated gods are the same. They have the same scent and magic. They are just different from their circumstances. But unlike others, their morals, actions, and abilities are all from their god self personality.

For the gods proving themselves, Raine in one of her lives would have to be a good ruler. Ophelia would have to create good outcomes and help heal people and support family. Kuno would have to protect love. Etc.

They also have to follow stuff similar to the myths humans create. Ophelia and Kuno have to fight Ankhseram while being human. This war means more than what other gods follow. Whoever wins determines the overall outcomes of major events. If it would mean bad things or good. The last war Ankhseram won, which lead to the dragons taking over. Which doesn’t seem bad until you remember the dragon wars, Acnolgia, and all the death it caused. Because Ophelia lost, after she gets her godness back she can see visions of the future. If Ankhseram had lost he’d get the same ability. However, they don’t have to follow the myths only after they remember stuff. They follow myths not knowing they’re gods.

Now. The gods aren’t fully human. They still have different soul types (bixlow’s quaking). When Ophelia goes down she has a half god; 1/4 celestial spirit; 1/4 demon, soul. They work like humans in like bodily processes, death, and magic. But after they fulfill their godness, they get their god memories back. They also gain a god mark on their body. Everyone looks different and is on a different part of the body. All of the born ones have their mark on their right forearm (the area of the arm below the elbow. I don’t know what it’s called) since they’re related.

They can also put marks on other people. It is not in the same place as the god’s own mark. They also each have two colors. One is when they are blessed by the god. The other is when they are scorned by the god. They are passed down through generations. They disappear around five generations down. Sophia has a colony that gets blessed every five years as she likes them and they are her main worship group that does everything it can for the planet. Jellal’s mark on his face is a god mark. It’s Ophelia’s mark. A child blessed by a god from a lineage like Jellal and Sophia’s colony, has traits similar to their god’s speciality. Sophia’s colony is incredibly wise and has lots of magic. (I love art but I got hit with my depression during COVID so I got stuck pretty bad and stopped practicing. So I would love to draw what the marks and colonies look like, but I can see them better in my head and they’d look weird). Jellal actually is very good at medical practices and celestial magic (which he practices). Similarly, Mystogan is good at music and dance. Now, this isn’t to say that they aren’t talented on their own or can’t have other talents that don’t fit the god, but should they commit to the skill, they’ll have extremely good luck in those departments.

After gods remember everything, they have slight access to their god magic. They can bless people (something they can’t do as regular humans), and use certain abilities. For example, Adohira can cause things to flip on people. Like she can make it rain chocolate milk (like discord from mlp). But she can’t mess with other worlds like she could in the god world (which is kinda like another dimension like the celestial spirt realm and the underworld). The part demon, celestial gods have a little bit more stuff they can do. They can fly and have their royal rights in those kingdoms. Their hair floats. Ophelia, for example, has her hair turn into fire and it floats. Mirakand’s hair floats and turns white like the moon rocks.

They can also recruit gods. During one of Ankhseram and Ophelia’s wars, Ankhseram killed the gods of the dusk and dawn. Permanently. As in they don’t get reincarnated or got back to the god realm. It was before they got their memories back. Once they did, Ankhseram felt incredibly guilty. Because those gods were perma-dead they can have replacements picked out from the living creatures on the planet. They live the rest of their lives normally, but when they die they become part of the god realm and start to follow the system.

They CAN be incredibly smart. They aren’t necessarily, but because of them being a part of the world for so long, they usually are in some aspect.

When they are on earth, they don’t get their gods names and get renamed for their human lives. They can also be cursed by Ankhseram’s curse while human. Except for Ophelia and Kuno, who are immune to the curse per its creation.

While one group is down with the humans, the other group is in the god realm. So when they are summoned they are summoned as gods. Atlas doesn’t follow the same system, as he’s not a god in the sense like the rest are. He just comes down and does the deed when he needs to and then continues with his king life.

The current group that’s down on the plant is Group B.

The gods are still worshiped and they have festivals and days. However it’s not as hardcore like prayers everyday or anything. It’s sort of like how some people view Christmas. Like it’s about the celebration, not the meaning. The Valentine’s Day equivalent is Kuno’s day and is considered his birth. Towns are named after gods in aspects of myths. In Fiore, some examples are Marigold (for Adohira. They sell tons of art supplies and have beautiful architecture. Their festivals are truly beautiful and colorful.) and Snowdrop (For Ophelia. Their festivals are very lively since they’re filled with music. Unlike Adohira’s festivals, they are very floral. Like Adohira gets confetti and Ophelia gets flowers.)

They also have a ranking system. I drew a picture. The born have underlings, that are below them. There are more but it’s to just demonstrate.

This also added into demon stuff. There’s the existing demons, Zeref’s (which are etherious), the demons on the island (galuna island). But there’s ghastly demons. Which are underworld demons. They are mainly underneath Ankhseram, but it’s like he’s the boss and Alexiares is like the ceo.

Godslayers are in a similar situation to dragonslayers. Gods in human form taught people god magic and they turned. But they didn’t have a war. Then it was passed down. So godslayers are older than dragonslayers.

Ahhh, okay! So my Fairy Tail OC is very similar to my MHA and PJO OCs. If we want all MCU, you could say they are variants of each other with the PJO version being the OG.

Meet, Callie Wells or Callista Wellsium in Fairy Tail. She is around 5'4, has olive skin, and dark hair with amber or blue eyes. It depends on the mood I am in tbh. Her magic is one of my favorite things about her. It's a magic I created called Summoners Merge. It's a mix of Lucy's Summoner Celestial Magic and Mirajane's Take Over. How it works is Callie collects charms of different ancient deities (most with Greek origin bc I am a mythology nerd). She can make contracts with them and use their power as her own. The more powerful the deity the more focus and energy she uses to keep the power under control.

In her backstory, she grew up in a mountain village who worshiped the Greek inspired deities. Callie would go on to study and create her magic by worshipping and contracting the deities. Only, one time she got to cocky with one of the powers (aka Chronos's power) and nearly destroyed her entire village. So she left and became an independent wizard taking odd and dangerous jobs. She'd meet Laxus during his exile and join Fairy Tail during the Seven Year Gap. She has some ties with Sabertooth, befriending Minerva, Sting, and Rogue while on a mission. She also likes to talk with Rufus because we all know he's a bookworm. Same with Levy.

Callie is super happy-go-lucky and loves to make people laugh so she can ignore her own pain. (Like me! Anyways) She has zero self-preservation skills, impulse control, or filter. I literally have her first words of meeting Laxus being "big man, big coat" because of course I can.

Big man big coat about sums up Laxus. Nelly and Callie seem fairly similar which is cool! The only difference being Belly grew up in fairy tail and Callie joined later. Her magic is awesome (I am also a mythology nerd)

The reference to “old man” is likely done so that we can make the connection with the male Jackal since both the second and third experiments were done to make sure that a being like the Jackal would never be born on Earth again.

The first sounds of the smithy began to be heard. They penetrated into the depths of the Earth and reached the Seventh Ancestor, whom men [humans] had killed. As the rhythmic sounds of the bellows blowing up the fire and the hammer striking the anvil came down to him [her], the Seventh Ancestor Nummo took his [her] spirit form of a human trunk ending in a reptile. Rising up on his [her] tail, with regular movement of his [her] arms held in front of him [her] and rhythmic jerks of his [her] body he [she] swam into the first dance movements, which brought him [her] underground to the tomb of the old man.

To the rhythm of the work of the Smith, he [she] made his [her] way to the north of the body where the skull was and proceeded to swallow it. He [She] took it into his [her] womb and gave new life to it. Then always in time to the same sounds, he [she] expelled into the tomb a torrent of water and the transformed being. On the place where the body had been, this water, symbol of rushing torrents and of stagnant pools, lay in a great sheet, from which issued five rivers flowing in the directions of the head and the limbs.

The water was also the water of parturition. The Nummo’s womb had transformed the man’s bones into coloured stones and ejected them into the bottom of the tomb so as to form the outline of a skeleton laid out flat on its back in the place where the body had been, with its head to the north.

This passage describes the oldest man’s death and how his (her) consciousness was taken into the Seventh Ancestor’s womb, where he (she) was given new life and transformed into a new being. The “rhythmic sounds of the bellows” made by the Smith alerted the Seventh Ancestor to Lébé’s death. The entire process was orchestrated to a rhythmic motion. It was done to the “rhythm of the work of the Smith.” Music, dancing, and rhythm were all associated with the expression of the “Third Word”.

The Master (Mistress) of Speech heard the first sounds of the smithy and went to the grave of Lébé. “To the rhythm of the work of the Smith, he [she] made his [her] way to the north of the body where the skull was, and proceeded to swallow it... Then always in time to the same sounds, he [she] expelled into the tomb a torrent of water and the transformed being." Water here becomes a symbol of the eternal essence. It is identified with the Nummos’ essence and the waters of the womb. It gives us an image of rebirth.

When the Master (Mistress) of Speech ate Lébé, who was the Eighth Ancestor, the old man and the Seventh Ancestor became one. It was similar to the people eating the Seventh Ancestor. The eating signifies the union between humans and the Nummo. It shows how Lébé was regenerated using the Master (Mistress) of Speech’s DNA.

Some key symbols are fire, sun, smithy, hammer, anvil, granary, and seed. Fire is the soul or spiritual essence of the Nummo, which is associated with the sun and their biological nature. The hammer and anvil together symbolize the Nummo, the hammer being their male aspect, and the anvil being their female aspect. Both the granary and the smithy symbolize the Nummo spaceship, where the biological engineering occurred. The seed is the human seed, or DNA. The meanings of these symbols were determined by cross-referencing them with their meanings in other stories in the Dogon religion. The symbols need to be understood in an overall context to make sense. It is important to remember that this mythology was created in an oral culture and its symbolism is what holds it together.

In Ogotemmêli’s story, the Smith, or Jackal, steals a piece of sun in the form of fire from the Nummo workshop. Throughout the Dogon religion, the sun symbolized the female sex and was identified with the androgynous Nummo, who were perceived as being more feminine than masculine. Sun and fire were interchangeable because the Nummos’ spiritual essence, symbolized by fire, was inextricably connected to their DNA. Their genetic experiment failed because the Nummo initially thought their spiritual essence was separate from their DNA. They discovered too late that their spiritual essence was connected to their biological essence. This was also why the smithy and the granary were seen as one. Fire, or the spiritual essence, was stored in the smithy, just as the seed, or DNA, was stored in the granary. The smithy and granary were the same structure, which also happened to be the Nummo spaceship. The fact the Nummo were known as “Heaven’s Smiths” reinforces the importance of the Smith and the smithy to the Dogon religion.

In this story, the Smith, or Jackal, is chased by the Nummo. The female and male fires shot at him are symbolic of the Nummos’ androgynous essence. To protect himself from the Nummos’ fire, he raises the skin of the bellows, which holds the essence of the sun. The skin of the bellows symbolizes human skin, or the biological nature of humans. The passage is telling us that the Nummos’ spiritual essence, which is tied to Nummo DNA, cannot prevail against the spiritual essence of humans, which is tied to human or Earth animal DNA. Even though it is underdeveloped in relation to the Nummos’ DNA, it is still connected to the Earth animals, and the Nummos’ DNA cannot override it or change it. The dual fires of the Nummo show how their spiritual essence is eventually changed in humans when they become single-sexed beings and lose their androgyny and immortality.

The biological and spiritual connection is reiterated in the story when Ogotemmêli says that without the fire of the smithy and the iron of hoes, there wouldn’t be any crops to store. The fire in the smithy makes the iron hoes which are used to work the fields. Without the help of the hoes, the seeds won’t germinate properly and the crops won’t grow. Ogotemmêli is saying that the seeds rely on the fire. In other words, the seeds which symbolize human seed or DNA rely on the smithy’s fire, which symbolizes the sun, and indirectly the spiritual nature of Nummo and humans.

Ogotemmêli further states that the name for granary is “stolen” to remind the Dogon of the connection between the fire, the seed, the smithy, and the granary. The word for stolen is Gouyo, which was still part of the language in the 1940s. It also meant granary.

It may tell how it was a group of individuals born like the Jackal who were involved in the ship’s crash. It is possible that because they didn’t understand the androgynous Nummo and were separated from the Nummos’ spiritual essence, the male offspring rebelled against them. The Jackal may be symbolic of that male rebellion.

WITH HUMANS GAINING THE ABILITY TO MAKE AND USE NUCLEAR WEAPONS, AS WELL AS THE LEVELS OF DAMAGE THEY'VE ALREADY CAUSED TO PLANET EARTH, IT HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL FOR THE HIGHER POWERS, THE NUMMO, TO FIND AND INSTITUTE A SOLUTION BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. THAT IS WHY I WAS WILLING TO HELP THEM AND WHY I TOOK IT ALL THE WAY, BECAUSE IN THE END IT WILL BE SEEN THAT IT WAS WHAT WAS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE ON THE PLANET LIVING IN SUCH A STATE OF MISERY RIGHT NOW, THEY HAVE NO ELECTRICITY AND LIVE ON LESS THAN A DOLLAR A DAY, AND THEY MAKE UP THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE ON PLANET EARTH. THEIR DESIRE FOR HEALING, OR EVEN JUST ANY KIND OF RELIEF FROM THE MISERY, FAR OUTWEIGHS ANY VOTES OF ONLY 1% OF THE HUMAN POPULATION, THE ONES HOARDING ALL THE WEALTH. THIS WAY, EVERYONE CAN HAVE A GOOD LIFE AND A GOOD QUALITY OF LIFE. WE HAVE GREAT THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO AS THE ANCIENT ONES AND THE OLD GODS RETURN TO POWER ON PLANET EARTH!

One of the things that fascinate me about adventure fantasy manga like One Piece and to a somewhat lesser extent Fairy Tail is the constant presence of Japanese culture in series primarily based on non-East Asian settings like certain characters having Japanese names (Nami, Sanji, Natsu), the presence of Japanese weapons (the game Chrono Trigger has a class of weapons called “Japanese swords” despite there seemingly not being a Japan to receive the name from) and random Japanese cultural details like onsen and Japanese food. There’s never a clear reason beyond the creators being Japanese, and I’ve wanted to explore that in a fantasy setting.
