you know i said i was near immune to nostalgia but i think i may just have a very different relationship to nostalgia than the rose coloured sweet and sentimental version thats emphasized in marketing. my mother talked to me once about a similar thing she feels, an emotion that feels like a yearning but not in a way that makes you feel warm but a way that makes you feel confused and maybe even scared. isnt one of the root words for nostalgia something to do with pain. why am i missing the alphasmart neo 2.

#that big ass giant thing #actually now that i think about it as an adult it was probably not as heavy as i remember it i was probably just 9 #edit: actually the more i think about it i probably just had a neo1 since it wasnt actually mine #it was like the schools but they brought them out for kids who had special needs with writing (me)#and i highly doubt they had the budget for the brand new neo when they already had the old ones #so i lugged it around for a few grades #chromebooks wouldnt be common in local schools for another 5 years so this is what they used!#also it turns out writers fucking LOVE this thing which makes a lot of sense #honestly i think id enjoy it a lot nowadays. when i was 9 not so much but as a 25 year old im into it #i have stronger arms now. i can carry it easy
