Planning In Advance - do you have revolver?
We start thinking the unthinkable very early on in the Oxfam bookshop – we think about Christmas from August onwards. Yes, I can imagine your rolling eyes, and indeed the rolling eyes of professional shop designers who obviously start thinking about Christmas in January. But bear with me, if you can. So, long-time readers may know that from August (maybe even July) we start putting aside books…

A beer that can only be found in Mexico arround #Chritams time, a colorful magic town in the middle of the hills and the widest tree in the world "El Tule". A #Montzuma #Cypress, better known in mexico as #Ahuehuete. Which means old man of the water in #Nahuatl. Coming back to the beer it is one of the few #seasonal beers and the first #bock beer to be produced in #Mexico. It is a full body bitter #darkbeer produced by #Cuauhtemoc #Moctezuma. Its name comes from the world-known mexica flower #Nochebuena (the red flower in the lable) that similarly to the beer only #blooms during christmas season. . . . . #Taxodium #mucronatum #flordenochebuena #santamariadeltule #eltule #visitoaxaca #magictown #pueblomagico #bockbeer #beersnob #beeradict #christmastime #cervezanochebuena #craftbeer #cerveeza #biere (at Santa María del Tule, Oaxaca) https://www.instagram.com/p/BrwqsHCgzsE/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1mzd4oc6iudr7

Without a doubt, my favorite Chritams occurred 25 years before I was born. Christmas 1921, the afternoon when my grandmother Mary gave birth to her first child a daughter named Mary.
For the next 92 years, Mother Mary was bright presence in the lives of her family which included two younger sister and a younger brother....Rose, Helen and Tommy. She married her husband Vinnie the day before he went over to the Phillipines in WW 2. When Vin returned he and Mary began the baby boom. I showed up on Dec 30, 1946.
Mary gave birth to my brother Deke in 1952 and my sister Terri in 1958. Terri was born on my birthday.
Somehwere along the line, we started my mother calling her "Red" because of her hair color but also because other people called their mothers Mom and nobody else had a mother as great as our mother so calling her Mom didn't do her justice.
She lived a courageous, energetic, disciplined, joyous life. In the mid-fifties my father got hurt and my mother went to work. Even when my father recovered, my mother continued to work. She was a feminist before anybody heard about feminism and she took a certain amount of shit from people because she worked.
Wherever she worked whether it be our local paper the Democrat and Chronicle or City Hall she always got promoted because of her reliability, her ethich and her ability with shorthand. She's reach a certain job title and then she would become preganant, surrender her job and take off some time to get the kids started. Then she would return to work and somehow manage her schedule in such a way that we never even realized that she was gone. She was omnipresent both at her job and in her home.
I didn't think much of my family. I lved them. They loved me. It took me many years to figure out that our simple family might be the exception to the rule.
We lived in the city. One day the neighborhood loudmouth was out screaming about something. The whole neighborhood was watching what might have been a nervous breakdown. My mother walked over to Marge's house and calmed her right down.
She had similar effect on everybody. Our house became a gathering place for my friends most of whom did not enjoy domestic tranquility. They found peace, empathy and fun at our house.
She knew everybody's name. She made cookies. We played music on our brand new 4 speed hifi system. We were strictly middle class but we always had music and fun.
Of course, we had the occasional melt down and disagreements

Good luck too you may your Chritams weekend be somewhat sane.
(Spending the next week in the family home with my mum who has all the options and they usual mean trouble for me and my brother and her boyfriend who have no opinions. Why oh why did the "be polite" part of my upbringing stick so hard?)
hm, apparently i’m spending the 25th with my dad and stepmom, and I like my stepmom just fine but last time we communicated was in september when she posted a facebook text saying that all illnesses came from bad feelings and I told her it was bullshit. Now, I wouldn’t care if it was just her being stupid, but she’s an unlicensed feet therapist and her clients actually believe what she tells them. Anyway, besides that she’s a delightful person and I do have fun with her.. But still, wish me luck.
my dad: Your stepmom says she has a nice red wine to share with you me: (internally screaming) Oh, nice! Can’t wait!
and there will be alcohol involved.

Dwaraka Movie Review
New Post has been published on http://www.tollywoodhours.com/dwaraka-movie-review/
Dwaraka Movie Review
Dwaraka Movie Review
Director : Srinivasa Ravindra
Producers : Pradyumna Chandrapati, Ganesh Penubotu
Music Director : Sai Karthik
Starring : Vijay Deverakonda, Pooja Jhaveri
Dwaraka Movie Review. “Dwaraka” is one of the 3 movies releasing this Friday and despite the competition, this film managed to create a pre-release buzz. The main reason behind this curiosity is Vijay Deverakonda who was the lead in last year’s surprise superhit “Pelli Choopulu”! “Dwaraka” is his second film as the main lead and so let’s read on to see what Vijay has in store for the audience.
Story
“Dwaraka” gets to the plot very quickly by introducing Srinivas(Vijay Deverakonda) as a small-time thief who cons people along with this two friends. One day, while trying to escape from a failed robbery attempt, Vijay takes refuge in an apartment complex named Dwaraka. Prudhviraj, who plays a pujari, conveniently proclaims Vijay to be Swami Krishnanand for his own benefit.
A series of lucky coincidences result in the Swami becoming famous for his problem-solving abilities. Seeing his fame, Prudhvi along with Prabhakar & others set up a trust in the Swami’s name to swindle the donations.
Oblivious to this, Vijay is enjoying his Swami avatar as it gives him a chance to interact with Vasudha(Pooja Jhaveri) with whom he is hopelessly in love with. In parallel, we have Ramakrishna (Murali Sharma), a rationalist, who has exposed fake Godmen and his latest target is Swami Krishnanand.
The second half sees Vijay trying to come clean about his Godman image to impress Vasudha while Prabhakar and others want him to continue the profitable drama. Soon, the CM (Prakash Raj) gets involved and the story gets complicated. How does Vijay handle the devotion of his followers and come out of the Swami act is what the rest of “Dwaraka” is about.
Artistes’ Performances:
Going by his performance in the movie, one can say Vijay Devarakonda is not one film wonder. He shines in his role impeccably by showing many variations in his acting in one character.
After Vijay Devarakonda, it is Prudhvi who gets meaty role and the star comedian has used the character to his benefit. He doesn’t do comedy but whatever his pravachanams are, he does evoke laughs.
Heroine Pooja Jhaveri is okay. Murali Sharma as rationalist, Prakash Raj as CM have done neat job. Kaleyaka Prabhakar as villain is good.
Plus Points:
Concept
Minus Points:
Old story Slow narration Climax
Technical Aspects:
There are only four songs and they flow with the narrative with “Entha Chritam” standing out for its lovely picturization. There are some continuity issues especially with Vijay’s looks which could be because the film was a long time in the making. Most of the time, the film has the look of a very low budget film.
