The comic Sweet Tooth follows Gus, a deer/boy hybrid who leaves his forest home to find the outside world ravaged by some cataclysmic event. Gus joins a group of humans and other human/animal children in search of answers about the world and his origins. The series will stars Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, and Will Forte, with James Brolin as the voice of the Narrator.

Sweet Tooth hits Netflix on June 4, 2021.

"Sweet Tooth" ya es una de las mejores series de Netflix

Con tan solo un día de vida en la plataforma de ‘streaming’, la crítica la ha tachado como una de las mejores ficciones de este 2021.

Sweet Tooth: El niño ciervo, producida por el mismo Robert Downey Jr., se ha estrenado en Netflix el pasado viernes 4 de junio y ya se encuentra en la lista de las mejores series de este 2021 y de todo el catálogo original de la plataforma de streaming.

Todo gracias a que la crítica le ha otorgado un 97% en Rotten Tomatoes. Pero no sólo ha sido la crítica, también los espectadores que han tenido la oportunidad de hacer la maratón de los ocho episodios de los que consta la primera temporada. El público ha votado también en la página dándole un 93%, siendo así un caso casi inusual en que la crítica y los espectadores coincidan.

En IMDB, a día de hoy, con más de 1,200 votos, ha conseguido un 8,1 sobre 10. Esto podría ir a más dentro de dos semanas, cuando tenga más recorrido la serie protagonizada por un joven Christian Convery y donde el boca a boca gane fuerza. Pero teniendo en cuenta que solo tiene un día de vida, es todo un logro.

UN INESPERADO ÉXITO

Sweet Tooth: El niño ciervo está basada en el cómic homónimo de DC Comics y se ambienta en un mundo arrasado por un virus que ha acabado con la vida de muchas personas. Justo cuando aparece esta pandemia, también lo hacen los niños híbridos de animales.

Nueve años después, Gus decide salir de su aislamiento para encontrar así a su madre. Así que poco a poco descubrirá las maravillas de la Tierra, pero también el lado oscuro de la misma cuando descubra que hay personas que le dan caza.

El cómic bajo el sello de Vertigo puede llegar a tener una trama mucho más oscura de lo que podemos ver en la serie, algo que temía que no podría sobrellevar el joven protagonista. Pero al llegar al set de rodaje, vio que iba a ser al final un poco más amistoso y familiar.

Sweet Tooth: El niño ciervo se está convirtiendo poco a poco en esas joyas que se estrenan sin mucho bombo en Netflix, pero que luego el boca a boca la convierte en un inesperado éxito, como fue el caso de Lupin.
