The best theatrical remount ever! #rubensantiagohudson is a beyond a gifted storyteller with the best accompaniment by #christhomasking When I first saw this play in 2001 @publictheaterny I knew I had to keep working on #babygirlplay which was still in the development stage...He told us last night he had no plans to ever do the play again.. But when he ran into Michael Ritchie at a theater conference talking about and unserved inclusive audiences....and the late great #billsimms (his legendary #bluesman for the original run) told him he needed to put it up again...and then passed away 7 months later....You may have seen the brilliant #hbo movie produced @halleberry but seeing him tell in live...!!!! No words!! Must be experienced!! The best birthday present ever from my theatrical mentor veteran actress @starlettadupois who was in #misseversboys on this very same stage a few decades ago!! I am so very grateful and one step closer to being able to pick up the #gooddaughter script again...Ruben shared his mother with the audience the same way I did/do with Good Daughter...and he and Nanny had just about same age difference as @dorothyknows and I did...and this run ends the week of 30th Anniversary of me losing my father...Yeah it's almost time..If you are in or can get to #losangeles this is #lathtr you DO NOT wanna miss!
