An important but little known fact about me:
I write letters to authors! I started when I was about 6 years old, and have received a good amount. Here's a list of authors who have replied (in chronological order). 1. Ron Roy, author of the A to Z mysteries. They were my fave as a little kid. 2. Chris d'Lancey, author of The Fire Within. (A dragon book.) 3. Schim Schimmel, author/illustrator of Children of the Earth 4. Roddy Doyle, author of many books. This is one of my favorite letters I've received. I wrote this in response to a children's book but his adult books are good too. 5. Christopher Paolini, author of Eragon. This was before he was super famous, and we had a correspondence of three letters (from each of us). 6. Gail Carson Levine, author of (most famously) Ella Enchanted. It was just a form letter with a signature but still. 7. Trenton Lee Stewart, author of The Mysterious Benedict Society. They really are kids books, but they are fabulous and clever and I highly suggest them. 8. Daniel Pinkwater, author of The Neddiad. He's like a jewish version of Douglas Adams. His postcard was just bizzare, so that will go in another post. 9. And my favorite, Franny Billingsley, author of The Folk Keeper. The Folk Keeper is one of my favorite books, althought that author hasn't written anything else that caught my fancy. The letter she sent was lovely. So there you go! My favorite things.
