We had a 12-hour shoot today for a script I wrote of a cooking show spoof. I spent most of the day trying not to eat the pastries on set. It was a long day, but I think it's going to be a solid video. I can't wait to see what it looks like on screen. Driving home tomorrow.

Best of 2020 Movies #2: Wonder Woman 1984 WW84

When you can make a game changing movie that redefined all conventions people wonder how can you follow that up.

And the same question was asked to both Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot who took their watershed moment for female superheroes known as wonder woman and managed to be asking themselves the very same question.

The answer is very simple throw in the 80s.

Cheese and all, to make something that although is not as good as the first wonder woman can stand well on its own.

And boy did we need the escapism.

1984 and Cold War era Washington DC. Diana who had spent the previous six decades using her knowledge of history to stay relevant to the world climate finds herself part of the smithsonian and its antiquities divison.

All the while doing small heroic work as her costumed alter ego from World War I.

One of her few confidants in the historical department, Barbara Ann Minerva discovers a certain rock that grants the power of anyone’s wish.

And when you have dreams like hers wanting to be like Diana.

Tycoon max Lord and his want to salvage his name into a respectful brand.

And Diana herself Who only wants her beloved Steve Trevor back in her life, the fate of the divine curls into the lives of earth with its critical and yet timely 80s message.

Be careful what you wish for.

And the baffles that follow while not as morally good As its predecessor does have some moments.

Such as Steve being in the same shoes as Diana was 68 years earlier.

But in a year we all needed to let lose for a while and escape, this definitely had its fair share of the fallets.

No matter how much That wish wants to be renounced.

Before working on Arena, Cab was a digital artist and Chris a graphic designer and in this episode, they talk about their desire for a new type of bookmarking tool and building a platform for collaborative, interdisciplinary research as well as larger questions around open source tools, research as artistic practice, and subverting the norms of social media.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

It's been a long day. Darla and I flew to Albuquerque and drove a rental three and a half hours north to Pagosa Springs. Bryan and his buddy Brent (who worked on WandaVision) have spent the last two days driving an RV full of equipment from Little Rock. The Wichita crew flew to Durango and rented a minivan to drive an hour east. And they recorded the AFC Championship game so we could watch the Chiefs play on delay tonight. I didn't tell them, but I took the money line on the Bengals (and won).

There are eight of us in this house with four bedrooms, so I'm on a too-short couch in a common area upstairs, but the snow-covered scenery outside is pretty.

Filming tomorrow.
