The by far funniest thing about manga Kongō is how she is completely unbothered by the entire "I have a child with Gunzō and Choukai" thing while EVERYONE else is like "EEEEEEEEEEEEH!?"

Chapter 51:

Na thinks Pai is dead...and so does Benaresu, who wonders if he got there too late.

Yakumo, Jake and Hong-Nyan arrive to find a despairing Naparuba who points to the lava pit to indicate what happened. He tries to apologize but Yakumo tells him to shut up, glaring at the pit as if daring it to do something. Sure enough, Choukai jumps out of the pit, melted to a skeleton but moving. Yakumo tells everyone to clear out while wondering where Pai is. Choukai attacks...then falls over, dying with his stomach up. Yakumo gets on top of him, bursting his stomach open and pulls Pai out.

He hugs her while saying she had them all worried while Three-Eyed Pai complains that she's tired. She says she only survived because Choukai botched the job of doing a void spell and she still almost died. Being exhausted, she lets Pai take over.

The group heads back to Teinzuin's corpse, Pai giving him back the key while apologizing for being indirectly responsible for his death. Then his spirit speaks to her, telling her it's not her fault and that it's easier for him like this. He tells her that the ones who have it tough are the ones who are alive, like her. He finishes with the fact that the truth is always cruel and that shouldn't stop her from seeking it out.

She thanks him and Naparuba tells the group that he can't go on with them; he's a protector of the Holy Hall so he has to stay behind. He tells them to take care of themselves and wishes them luck on their journey. Jake says that they'll bring back the secret of the Immortality Tower so he should wait for them.

Jake is back to figuring out traps, warning Pai that Yakumo has business with Benaresu so they should hurry up before he finds them. Then Yakumo yells at Hong-Nyan to give him back his arm in a jar. Jake tells Pai to ignore them and says it's time to calm Chiruuo and continue to the Holy Hall. Chiruuo responds by turning white and solidifying in front of them, shocking the group as he turns into a bridge.

Pai, remembering her family and friends, ends the chapter by continuing on the path to find her memory and the truth.

"Summary" Arpeggio Chapter 161

Here we go again. Also none of you know how hard I have to fight for the raws everytime (I literally had to involve TOR because sweet little mangagun is whiny).

We start with Ise at Hashirajima, who is very excited about some transmission coming in. Takao, Kaga (I think?) and Hiei (who is preparing a Kongou fest goin by a banner in the background? What are you doing young lady?) are also still vibing there. Update on Ise: going by dialog and following pannels I think she just lost an IT battle against Lexington. Choukai is also communicating with Lexington, who just appeared from underwater, asking for berth 2, so I assume she wants to dock at Hashirajima. Kirishima and Haruna re there as well, btw. Ise states that Lex took control of the second berth and that she herself lost (see above); this makes Kirishima and Haruna essentially sweatdrop. Inside Hashirajima, Iona is drinking tea with Choukai. Iona proposes giving "Him" (Or them? Iona isn't actually saying 彼 ("kare", he), so she's probs not actually saying "he" and Google is just scrambling) a souvenir to which Choukai replies that "during the time they had it" they "carried out some maintenance & repairs". Iona asks if that is okay and Choukai essentially just says that it's enough and that she (Iona) will be pleased.

We then see Gunzou doing some gardening work and smiling out at Lexington in the distance.

Under the surface, we are now back with our favourite Walter sub: U 2501, where everyone is pretty excited about being fully maintained.

So, that answers the question of who was in their care and maybe it was "he" after all.

Lex' mental model is vibing in the sub and the captain asks where they're gonna meet up with her ship body. They agree to go to Pearl Harbor and meet up with the carrier on the way asap. (in case any of you need this info for fanfic or smth: they're travelling with 80 knots, will meet with Lexington in 10 hours and then arrive at Pearl Harbor ca. 40 hours later).

After this is sorted out, Lexington asks the captain what they're gonna do afterwards, to which he answers with the plan to meet up with Musashi.

Lexington reacts to this with "......yes" and a potentially sus smile, before telling him that she has a present for him. As Fleet Flagship of the North American Pacific Fleet, Lexington grants U 2501 access to the Joint Tactical Network of the corresponding fleet. Information access coordinates are A949736765Y1775.

Why am I giving you this info? Because it's mostly for me in case I need it and I'm not gonna save the screenshot.

Lex ends the exchange with "the quantum sampling command pattern... that's right, it's silver."

The crew states how that is a colour that fits her, U2501 asks if they want to accept that and the captain asks Lex whether that's really alright, then accepts when she says yes.

U 2501, Union Core number 2003, accepts and starts connecting to the Network.

According to Lexington, Musashi is aware of everyone's actions and denying access to the Tactical Network to keep a secret(s). She then goes on with saying that the need for that is already gone, he asks what she means and she answers that he now has all the information and has to figure this out himself.

Lex then goes on saying that she doesn't want to know it or see it, that she doesn't want to hear the answer if it exists, that there is always a reality he has to attain and that the only thing she can give them is "to beckon them". I'm not sure what the translator wants from me here. Like I get the gist, I just can't explain it.

Mr. captain (who we are gonna call Käpt'n until someone says his name again because I have legit no idea) replies that, no matter what the truth might be, they are deeply grateful to Lexington.

Scene change to San Diego, Underground Naval Port, where Hibiki enters the... office? of Hakugei 3's captain (Komaki), who welcomes her and tells her that she got permission to go to Washington with the departure being tomorrow night.

She thanks him and he says that "Leutnant Oscar" did the most work on the American side of things. "Lt. Avery Oscar" is, of course, the Admiralty Code/Gretel herself.

Gretel introduces herself and promises to take Hibiki to Washington.

We then get a scene switch to Sevastopol where one of those "angel" dudes is chilling in a library of some sort. He's talking to himself about being a knight and having reincarnated after having answered the angel's call, how they offer only "his" feelings from when "he" sacrificed himself. He also says "I won't betray you, never. For that reason, even knights will cross swords. I am also one of them, First One. My philosophy is that that person... is inside Lady Gretel. Augusta, I'm the one who reincarnated you, it was he who chose me and when your and that person's feelings intersect, how should I react?", twirling a feather between his fingers.

We are then shown the mentioned Augusta Gabriel as a dude putting on a jacket.

And that's the chapter. I'm still having bets running on "magic exists in this universe" but I'm also absolutely ready for some insane tech answer to all this

Chapter 50:

It's Three-Eyed Pai vs. Choukai! She kills a few of his monsters, causing one to call her out...and for her to counter call him out for using Teinzuin's brain as a plaything and trying to treat her as evil for defending herself. She proceeds to kill him, telling him that the next time he's born, trying being born with a cute face like hers.

Choukai then attacks her from behind, subduing Fei-Oh as well. Choukai tells her to fuck off, turning into his full demon form before Three-Eyed Pai blasts him. However, he opens his stomach up to reveal portal into another dimension, which absorbs the blast.

But fuck them, back to Yakumo and Benaresu. Benaresu's as friendly as always, complimenting Yakumo on growing more powerful while joking he didn't recognize him. Yakumo yells at him to shut up, telling him to give back Pai's memory. He attacks him with the Earth's Claw, saying he'll force him to tell him how to remove the rhombus. Benaresu apologizes, saying it's not in his nature to talk while blocking the attack with a barrier. Jake and Hong-Nyan show up so Benaresu makes his leave, saying he's busy anyway. Jake congratulates Yakumo on winning but the latter says they need to be helping Pai.

So Three-Eyed Pai is not just wasting her blasts, she's being sucked in by Choukai's stomach. His stomach sucks in all magical energy so nothing she can do can stop him. She's about to be vacuumed in as he laughs but she kicks him while she's halfway sucked. Then she holds onto his horns, refusing to be dragged in. This causes both of them to fall into the lava pit, right in front of a horrified Na's eyes.
