If you think about it really hardthe strawhat with an baby on board might be sick.
But there is a death threat when the child wants to play with Luffy and luffy accidentally throwing the baby too high. But sanji would be a good caretaker with the food getting the babies needs in foods, if the child is allergic to this ortat, Robin is instantlythe mother nobody can change she would benthe best mother in the world. Zoro is great with kids (watch episode 318). Imagine the baby napping with him or sttig on his back while he exercises. Brook and Franky would be the uncles to spoil the baby with toys and clothes, gifts you name it. Usopp and Chopper are the baby siblings, playing with baby and jokes all around. Nami is the sister that protects the baby when their dangers (well, they all do, but she is in the scaredy cat trio) like pulling the baby close and running away.
Any changes, thoughts?
Oh you are spot on right there anon, Luffy is great with kids, just like ace as we saw with Tama and Momonosuke and how he protected her. But just as before just because he is good at protecting the baby and getting on the same wavelengh dosen’t exactly mean the child is gonn aleave unscathe. Luffy is capable of trying to give the baby some meat, if he decides to share it I mean. He dosen’t mean any harm he just dosen’t know, one thing he would be the to go to person is being blunt Id imagine when the kid is older he would go all the time to Luffy, as silly as he is he is also really blunt jusg as we see when he tells people when they are being annoying or crybabies no matter who they are so the kid can count on Luffy to not sugarcoat things just the blunt truth but also give them support. Fun big but honest brother. Totally capable of chucking them to high, but not to worry the crew is always there to save the kid! Hopefully…
Sanji just like you said would be great tending to the kids nutritional needs, we all know he is more than willing to adapts to not knly the needs of a person but also their preferences so no matter what kind of things the kid liek he is ready to provide. Because of his backround I also think he would be more in tune to the feelings of a baby and be good person to go to when they are emotional or just need someone to cry to when they are a little but older
Robin just has that motherly aura, can’t tell me otherwise, like Sanji I think because of her backround she would be more understanding of a child and the emotions they can bring. He has a few years under her belt and because of her background working with someone like Crocodile and all those people she is incredibly patient and is unlikely to loose her cool on the face of a baby’s high demands.
Zoro we know he is great with kids, my man took care of those triplets with style, like did you see how he gave that one baby his milk? Man is cool even under that situation. Not only have we seen him with actual babies but have you seen his relationship with Chopper? Get this man his adoption papers pronto. And despite how he is with Sanji . With a baby I feel liek he would have the patience of a saint, just the baby tossing and turning and he simply shifts or puts him back on hid lap endlessly, to the point that he does it unconsciously, his instincts won’t let that baby fall even if they were napping upside down. Hear me out kn those exercises, I know he is mostly into weights but if he ever does a run, just strap the baby in and you got a weight vest. And he takes the baby on certain weight exercises because the movements are akin to rocking.
Now Brook, you might have seen this one coming but lullubies, baby has got A nap buddy, their oen personal chef and their own personal concert what more can you wish? The baby might not understand what he is saying but you can bet that he will be making skeleton jokes everytime he is on baby duty and the baby will just laugh along because of his laugh ( he thinks they are laughing at his jokes so he keeps them going)
Now listen not only is Franky one of the cool uncles, my man can pull up all kinds builds for the kid, need a new craddle? Leave it up to him, need a new crib? You got one with the latest technology in the blink of an eye. Listen he tried to give the baby soda but after getting screamed at explained that a baby cannot have soda, you can bet the baby will have a Soda stuffie to replace the lack of real Soda. Baby’s gonna have a superrrrrr good laugh with him.
Ussop, like Franky will make sure the baby has everything available, he builds the baby all kinds of fun toys for them to play with; not only that but he gaves a detailed explanation on everything he does, baby will leave with a new toy and a course on construction. He can easily make that baby laugh with his goofy attitude too, rest assured that when the crew disembarks into dangerous territory you will have Ussop’s full disposition to stay behind with the baby.
Chopper has two modes, first one just like you said is being on the same wavelength as the baby. If Chopper is ever nowhere to be found, the crew knows to check the babies room, chopper is often napping with the baby with both of them hugging and cuddling eachother. Don’t count on him to be there when baby needs changing though, that nose of his won’t be able to take it. Second nose is doctor mode, a baby is really vulnerable and won’t be able to communicate what he’s feeling and Chopper is always ready to make him all better and provide the best care the baby could get.
Big sister Nami won’t let baby have anhthing but the best, you know why baby is always dressed up in what seems to be better clothes than the rest if the crew? Yep that comes from rich big Sister Nami. Baby has an outfit for every occasion, not only that but on everystop you can be sure that if Nami dosen’t come back with a new clothing item then she is returning for a new plush toy for the baby. On calm days when everything is quiet you can hear from the deck Nami playing some silly game like peekaboo with baby Strawhat
Lastly we have Jinbei. Him and Ussop often pair up to tell the best of stories they can tell, Ussops crazy stories combined with Jinbei’s calm voice is an audience pleaser. Wether it is an action story to entertain baby strawhat or a bedtime story he’s got it. When there’s a swimday you can bet that it’s Jinbei’s time to chain, they might just be a baby but they will have the time of their lives either way when jinbei is on duty
Overall baby strawhat is leaving the highlife

𝕤𝕨𝕖𝕖𝕥 𝕕𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕞𝕤!
summary: the monster trio's reaction to hearing you say their name in your sleep pairing(s): luffy x gn!reader, zoro x gn!reader, sanji x gn!reader cw: none!
Tumblr media
luffy
it was rare, but it happened. luffy had gone off to roughhouse with usopp and chopper on the deck, leaving you with his precious hat. the responsibility was heavy on your shoulders and you barely had time to ask if he was sure before he ran in the opposite direction, laughing and looking back at you with a grin. "i know you'll take good care of it!"
that was about an hour ago, and you had done your damn best to make sure that the sacred straw hat was secure and in prime condition.
at some point though, the gentle rocking of the thousand sunny along with the overcast weather had you nodding off. you fought to stay awake, but ultimately found yourself dozing off against the railing.
with the straw hat nestled in your arms, your head rolled to the side, you slept.
luffy ended up returning to your spot a few minutes later, eagerly yelling your name until his mouth slammed shut at the sight of you sleeping so peacefully with his straw hat. he seems a little confused at first, head tilting as he looked down at you. "hm? you're tired?"
a toothy grin forms on his face as he steps closer, squatting down so he was eye level with you. the sight of his hat in your protective embrace makes him feel especially warm and he knows he made the right choice in entrusting it to you. his hand reaches for the hat, but as soon as his fingers brush against it, your hold tightens. your brows furrow and you grumble something before your face softens once more.
"no..." you mumble, bringing the hat closer to your heart. "s'for luffy... gotta...take care of it."
when he hears your 'no', he wants to pout, because it's his hat! however, when he catches the rest of your muttered words, his expression shifts into one of utter joy. a gleeful chuckle rings through the air and he can't help himself from waking you.
his arms wrap around your sleeping form and bring you in for a bone crunching hug, a yelp of surprise leaving you as you're rudely awakened. "what? what happened?" you ask, still disoriented and confused.
"nothing!" luffy responds, taking the hat from your hands and slamming it onto your head with a child-like excitement. "let's go eat!"
Tumblr media
zoro
you had a long day, worse than usual. stressed out and in need of some time to yourself, you made your way up to the crow's nest where you plopped down onto one of the workout benches. your ever racing mind, plagued with what ifs and unnecessary worry, eventually settles down enough for you to fall asleep as you turn onto your side and doze off.
a while later, zoro heads up there to do some training.
when he noticed you sleeping, zoro simply shrugged and headed towards some dummies so he could practice his three sword style. clearly you were just napping, and he wasn't going to interrupt or tell you to get out.
he gets a few hits in, deliberately making his stabs and swings a tad quieter in a bid to respect your sleeping arrangement, when he suddenly hears his name being called. thinking that he had been too loud, he sheathes his swords and lets out a disgruntled sigh. he could only be so quiet as he trained, and he assumed that you were gonna chew him out for waking you.
however, when he turns, he sees that your eyes are still shut. not only that, but your brows are furrowed and your once neutral expression is twisted into one of slight fear. he takes a few tentative steps toward you, unsure of how to handle whatever it is that's happening.
your breaths quicken. "stop it..." you whine, your body tensing slightly as you curl further in on yourself. "zoro... help..."
his brows shoot up in surprise when his name tumbles past your lips, heat creeping up his neck and to the tips of his ears. he feels awkward and out of place, though he can't deny the fact that he's flattered and a bit satisfied that, even in your sleep, you count on him to protect you.
he clears his throat, gaze sweeping across the crow's nest to make sure it was empty before hesitantly reaching a hand out. "oi, i'm here." he begrudgingly and affectionately grumbles, pink dusting his cheeks as his hand settled atop your head. "quit whinin'."
your response is almost immediate, your breaths evening out and your expression softening. he scowls and looks away, not believing that this was happening. yet, as he gets back to training, he makes sure to keep an ear out for you, occasionally talking to your sleeping self just so you could hear his voice.
Tumblr media
sanji
you didn't mean to fall asleep in the dining room.
something had you feeling restless, so you took it upon yourself to make a cup of tea before sitting at the dining room table to enjoy it. you didn't expect the tea to be so effective, yet here you were, arms crossed on the table and your cheek squished against the wood.
before the sun had a chance to peek over the horizon, sanji was up and preparing to head to the kitchen. with some extra plates and utensils in his hands that he brought from storage, he made his way down to the dining area.
when he notices you slumped over the table, his expression morphs into one of surprise and then to worry. he's quick to set down the silverware and make his way towards you, about to ask you what was wrong when he noticed your even breaths and peaceful expression.
ah, you were just sleeping. his eyes shine with amusement and admiration, his fingers twitching as he fights the urge to reach out and touch you. instead, he focuses his attention on your mug, his hand curling around the handle before bringing it up to his nose to take a quick inhale. the scent of chamomile and passionflower have him letting out a soft exhale of approval.
"you're gonna have to give me the recipe for this one, mon chérie." he smiles, taking a step back to head to the kitchen.
then, he hears it. a tired huff, as if you were debating with someone in your dream. "no... it's sanji... s'the best chef" you sleepily argue. "s'the best food... ever."
oh, he just melts. his head feels so light from your praise. he practically floats back to you, hearts in his eyes as he fights to keep his tone quiet. "mon chérie, do you really like my food so much that you dream about it?"
he continues to swoon over your sleeping self, his spirit light, when the sound of your grumbling stomach echoes throughout the dining hall. the blond is torn between waking you and preparing you something to eat.
he bends down slightly until he's at your level, before wrapping an arm around your shoulders. his free hand plucks the cigarette from his lips and he gently brings his mouth to your ear, lightly saying your name. "what's your favorite breakfast?"
a happy, genuine smile forms on his face when you actually mumble out an answer. when you wake up and your favorite breakfast is served on a plate in front of you, it's like a dream come true.

⛥゚・。 stein
synopsis: while you're laughing at the stories told to you by some rando at the bar, zoro can't help but be affected by the green-eyed monster. nami and robin try to quell his worries... but things take a turn for the worst when the man puts his hands on you.
cw: lots of fluff, comfort, (justifiably) crazy boyfriend zoro, possessive zoro, needy zoro, he is once again down bad for reader, reader is super pretty.
a/n: if my man doesn't act like this I DON'T WANT HIM. link to the outfit I was envisioning if you want it x
Tumblr media
As the man next to you donned a smug grin, the vein in Zoro's forehead bulged, his fingers tightening around the handle of his stein with a near bruising grip as you let out yet another silvery laugh, tickled by the "hilarious" story.
He was about two seconds away from breaking the bastard's face.
The swordsman's usual indifferent expression was swapped with one of severe annoyance, his chest burning with the violent urge to maim as you threw your head back with a small snort, your hands coming up to clutch your stomach.
He impatiently drummed his fingers against the table, brows endlessly furrowing downward at the scene in front of him.
He leaves for two goddamn seconds...
'...and suddenly everyone on this island's a fuckin' comedian.'
To say he was displeased would be a grave understatement.
He was downright pissed.
Only a few moments ago you both were yukking it up at the bar, drinking the place dry as you reminisced on the crew's most recent adventure, regaling each other with stories from your respective fights and showing off new scars acquired.
But he left for two fucking seconds to take a leak, and all of a sudden everyone decided to come out the woodwork, pulling up to your spot at the bar like vultures on the hunt.
Had he not rested his hand on your hip as you walked in?
Had he not toyed with the strings of your shirt as you talked?
Had he not kissed you on the cheek before he left for the fucking bathroom?
What part of his demonstration was unclear?
You were his girl.
His woman.
His partner-in-crime.
So why the fuck was he sitting on the sidelines while some no-name, smooth-talking bastard tried to put the moves on you?
"Because I'm not gonna let you go on some jealous rampage while everyone's trying to have a good time," Nami stated, simply, her thumb pointing toward Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, Franky, and Brook, who were dancing next to the jukebox. "We've been through enough this week... the last thing we need is a bar fight."
Zoro scoffed, rolling his eyes as he turned away from the woman, taking a rough swig of beer before his gaze instinctively drifted back to you, his expression almost akin to that of a neglected child.
Robin softly smiled, amused by his adorable display.
She never took the swordsman for the possessive type...
"Is there something about her interacting with another man that bothers you?" she asked, curious, as she rested her cheek in her palm. "Do you think she would oblige his advances?"
Nami gasped, offended on your behalf.
"Zoro! (y/n) would never!" she defended, turning to him sharply. "That girl never shuts up about you. In fact, you're probably what she's over there gabbing about."
The swordsman glanced back in your direction, watching as you happily talked away, the man resting his arm against the bartop and leaning into you.
He didn't even try to look like he was paying attention...
Zoro grit his teeth, brows furrowing.
"I don't think the bastard gives a damn..." he seethed, staring daggers at the man.
"You keep on glaring like that and you're gonna pop a blood vessel..."
Robin's calculated eye scanned over Zoro's expression once again, learning a new piece of information.
"So it's the man specifically that's causing all this worry," she mused.
"The man?" Nami cocked a brow, rolling her eyes when she realized the swordsman was now glaring even harder. "C'mon, Zoro, don't you trust (y/n)? You know she would never let anything happen—"
"I know she wouldn't," he stated, curtly, not taking his eyes away from the sleaze-ball. "It's him I don't trust."
Zoro watched as you paused your conversation, turning to ask the bartender for another drink, the man next to you taking the opportunity to let his gaze wander.
Slowly, his eyes trailed up your body, gliding over your smooth legs and your exposed torso to reach your chest, staring shamelessly at your tits.
They sat perfectly in the tight, tiny soccer crop-top Nami loaned you, the flesh of your legs accentuated by the equally small shorts, as well as your matching, chunky boots.
His thoughts were loud, Zoro reading his mind just off the expression on his face.
Crrkt!
The swordsman didn't like it one bit.
"Zoro!" Nami exclaimed, eyes wide as she looked at him, incredulously. "We're gonna have to pay for that!"
The swordsman looked down at his hand to see that in his silent anger, not only had he broken the handle off his stein, but he'd snapped the handle in half.
"Nami-swan! Robin-dear! How are my lovely ladies doing?!" Sanji twirled his way over, donning a large smile and a lovesick look.
Though, all that changed once he got a look at Zoro.
"Huh? What crawled up your ass, mosshead?"
Robin smiled, "A man at the bar seems to have taken a liking to (y/n)."
Curious, the cook turned to the scene, brows immediately furrowing at the man's body language, and heart aching for your innocent, engaged expression.
"What the—?" he spat, almost disbelieving of the man's audacity. "Is he fuckin' serious?"
Nami's brows raised with confusion, and she took a look at the man again, but found nothing off about him.
"I don't get it," she stated, shrugging her shoulders. "He looks perfectly nice to me."
"You don't know men," Zoro and Sanji answered in perfect unison, voices dripping with venom.
Just then, your tone raised, expression sharpening into a glare as you stared the man down.
Everyone's attention snapped to you, Zoro shooting up from his seat almost immediately.
"Hold on there, tiger," Sanji rested a hand on his shoulder, taking a drag of his cigarette. "(y/n) can handle herself."
Abruptly, you stood from your seat, the man across from you seeming to become irritated by the words coming out of your mouth, meeting you with just as much aggression.
It looked like you both were arguing.
"What happened?" Nami asked, concerned. "They were talking just fine a moment ago."
"This doesn't look good," Robin stated, seriously.
"You watch your mouth when you're talking about my captain, you bastard! You don't know shit!" you barked, calling the attention of everyone in the bar.
"Captain?! You're a fuckin' pirate?!" he exclaimed, surprised.
"Of course," Nami dropped her head on the table, letting out a small groan.
"Yeah, I'm a pirate! And you're a bad-breath havin' ass piece of bounty hunter shit! What gives you the right to talk like that about others when you look the way you do?!"
The entire bar burst into uproarious laughter at your retort, going wild as the man looked around with shame, their cackles punctuating the embarrassing scene.
The boys in the corner were completely floored, Luffy practically rolling around on the ground.
Nami, Robin, and Sanji couldn't help but let out a few of their own snickers, muffling it by covering theirs mouths or taking a sip of their drinks.
Zoro was practically beaming with pride, a cocky smirk stretching across his lips as an angry expression began to grow on the man's face
'Atta girl.'
But, suddenly, all of that changed once a biker from behind you stood up.
In a flash, he looped his arms under your armpits, holding you in place as the man launched forward and sucker punched you in the face.
The entire Strawhat crew was moving before he could even pull his fist away.
Now... Zoro played about a lot of things.
His life—daily.
His money—on the regular.
His liver—every damn day of the week.
But there were three crucial things he did not play about.
His crew.
His captain.
And, secretly at the top...
You.
So it was safe to say that he went absolutely fucking berserk the moment that man put his hands on you.
And, to save you all the gory details—which, believe me, they are goryI'll leave the scene at this...
Luffy, Sanji, Usopp, Franky, Chopper, and Brook had to actually, physically pry Zoro off of the man to keep the swordsman from murdering him with his bare hands.
Tumblr media
Back on the Sunny, Zoro sat on a bed in the infirmary, quietly watching as you rummaged around for some bandages for his raw knuckles.
The rest of the crew was still on the island, assisting Chopper as he cleaned up the bio-hazard your swordsman left behind on the bar floor.
According to the doctor's prognosis, it would be a miracle if the bounty hunter was ever able to eat solid food again.
Grabbing the first aid kit out the cabinet, you walked back over to your boyfriend, the man shifting in his seat to open up his lap for you, which you instantly obliged.
Settling on top of him, you wrapped your legs around his waist, using his shoulders to steady yourself before you got to work.
"Are you alright?" he asked with a slight rumble as you carefully took his left hand in yours, using a rag and a nearby bowl of water to wash off the foreign blood.
His eyes were trained on the dark bruise that sat right on your cheekbone, the memory of the man punching you in the face already rekindling the flames of anger burning in his chest.
He got off too easy...
"I am... thanks to you," you noticed, attempting to quell his rising fury. "Swoopin' in to my rescue like a knight. I felt like a real princess, y'know?"
He let out a small chuckle at your joke, his free hand coming up to rest on your hip.
Though, he was still concerned, the faint smile on his lips staying there for only a moment before it was gone, as if it was never there.
"And to answer your question, it hurt about as much as a punch could," you answered, already able to see the question forming in his mind. "He wasn't incredibly strong, so the most it did was wake me up a little."
You let out a sigh, rolling your eyes at the memory.
"And it's a good thing it did because I was two seconds away from throwing myself out the window if I had to talk to him any longer."
Zoro suddenly raised a brow, confused.
"I thought you two were getting along?" he asked as you dipped the bloody rag in a bowl of water. "You seemed eager to talk to him."
"Fuck no," you scoffed, incredulously. "It was the complete opposite. Talking to him was like watching paint dry; but, I had to put on a good show if I wanted him and his bounty hunter gang to pay for a couple of our rounds. "
Twisting the rag, you rang out the dirty water, moving on to clean his right hand.
"He wouldn't shut up about himself, and he wouldn't stop giving me weird looks when he thought I wasn't paying attention."
"So what set you off?" Zoro asked, intrigued. "What did he say?"
Your brows furrowed, your mouth biting back a curse word or two as you recalled.
"He saw Luffy's wanted poster behind the bar, and with the alcohol loosening him up a bit, he got to talking," you explained, pissed all over again. "He said the world would've been better off if Luffy had died at Marineford, right next to his weak-ass, bastard brother."
Zoro's eye widened, your reaction now perfectly understandable.
He would've done the same, if not worse.
Finishing up with the rag, you tossed it in the sink, moving to wrap his hands with the bandages.
"But it looks like he won't be speaking for a while now," you lightly joked. "So I'll suck it up and let it go."
Pausing for a moment, you hand rose to cup his cheek, the man leaning into your touch as you rested your forehead against his, placing a soft peck on his nose.
"But thank you," you smiled, looking into his eyes lovingly. "You were a real hero today, despite what the others may say."
Allowing himself to finally relax, his shoulders sank, and he leaned further into you, content with having you in his arms.
His silence spoke volumes, and you couldn't help the lovesick grin that managed to find it's way to your face.
God, you loved this man.
And, even though others may find you crazy for it, you couldn't help but be incredibly aroused as you recalled the way Zoro sprang into action, beating your attacker to a bloody pulp without hesitation.
"Y'know..." you started, cheekily, the man raising a brow at your sudden change in expression. "You're hot when you're jealous."
The comment took him by surprise, but as he checked your darkened eyes for confirmation, he could tell you were one-hundred percent serious.
"Oh, am I, now?" he smirked, teasingly, shifting his grip on your waist to flip you both over and pin you to the bed.
You let out a happy squeal as he pressed his lips against yours, your body melting into him instantly.
As you relished the feeling of his strong hands gliding across your skin—the same hands that nearly beat a man to death only moments earlier—you couldn't help the warm flutter reverberating through your stomach.
You kissed him back with just as much fervor, if not more, allowing him to use his position to get the angle on you and deepen the kiss.
Zoro had made it abundantly clear that you were the last person in the world to mess with, and as rumors of what happened on the island spread like wildfire, one fact became as certain as stone...
If you like your life... don't flirt with (p/n) (y/n).

Giant Duck Incident
When Luffy mistakes a giant duck for dinner and ends up getting a kiss instead
Tumblr media
LUFFY X GN!READER ౨ৎ💗 ONE SHOT
tags: fluff, sfw
a/n: this js me trying to write ffs, this is experimental and for fun only so expect this ffs a bit cringe
words count: 1.1k
: 𓏲🐋 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖✩࿐࿔ 🌊
The sun was high, the sea was calm, and there were absolutely no signs of trouble.
Which, on the Thousand Sunny, meant one thing:
Trouble was coming.
“LUFFY, NO—!!”
Too late. You watched in horror as Monkey D. Luffy, your idiot-slash-sweetheart captain, launched himself full-speed off the ship.
“THAT’S A HUGE DRUMSTICK!!”
He landed with a wet splat on what you now saw was not, in fact, a drumstick, but a massive, living, very not amused yellow blob.
A duck.
A giant duck. Towering, glistening, waddling angrily in the shallows.
It honked—a sound that felt more like a roar—and thrashed its wings wildly, trying to throw the rubbery parasite off its back.
Luffy clung to its neck like a child to a carnival ride, cackling madly. “SHISHISHSHI IT’S THE SIZE OF A WHOLE BANQUET!!”
You pinched the bridge of your nose. “This man has the survival instincts of a particularly reckless bread roll.”
You glanced at the rest of the crew.
Zoro was asleep.
Sanji was busy sculpting carrot roses for Robin.
Robin was reading, obviously not surprised.
Nami looked up from her map just long enough to yell, “Not it!”
Usopp and Chopper screamed something about curses and jumped into a barrel together.
Which left you.
Of course it did.
The duck, still honking its fury to the high heavens, stomped in circles while Luffy attempted to bite its side. You sprinted down the ramp and into the shallow surf.
“LUFFY, GET OFF THE DUCK!”
“I’M TRYING TO TASTE IT!”
“IT’S A SENTIENT CREATURE!”
“BUT IT LOOKS SO CRISPY—”
The duck, insulted on a deeply personal level, launched itself upward in one majestic leap and sent Luffy flying through the air like a flailing meat meteor. He landed beside you, face in the sand, limbs splayed in defeat.
“…Ow,” he mumbled.
You sighed and knelt beside him. “You good?”
He gave you a thumbs-up, still face-down. “YUP! SHISHISHI”
You helped brush sand off his hat as he sat up.
“Luffy,” you said, trying to be calm, “you can’t eat random animals just because they’re big and vaguely drumstick-shaped.”
“But look at it!” he whined, pointing. “It’s got those golden thighs! The rotisserie energy! The juicy potential!”
“It has a name, probably. A family. A job.”
He squinted. “Maybe it’s an orphan with a deep desire to fulfill its destiny as dinner.”
You blinked then laugh at this. “… pftt! did you just create a duck backstory to justify your cravings?”
“Yes!” he said proudly. “That’s called empathy I think! SHISHISHI”
You stared at him, completely deadpan. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”
He blinked. Then beamed. “You think I’m cute?”
“…That was supposed to stay in my head.”
“TOO LATE!” he yelled, springing to his feet and throwing his arms in the air like a victorious meat wrestler. “Y/N THINKS I’M CUUUUTE!!”
“Luffy!”
“I’M CUTE! I’M CUTE! EVEN CUTER THAN THE DUCK!”
The duck, now perched like a war god on a rock, glared at him with pure malice.
You sighed. “We’re gonna be hunted by poultry assassins. I can feel it.”
Back on the Sunny, after Luffy was physically restrained from offering the duck “one little nibble,” peace was finally restored. The sun dipped low, painting the sky in soft golds and purples.
You sat on the deck’s edge, feet dangling over the sea. Luffy flopped beside you, hat tilted back, grin wide.
“Hey, Y/N,” he said suddenly.
You braced yourself. “If you ask me to cook duck—”
“No, no,” he chuckled. “I was gonna say... I like when you laugh.”
You turned to him, surprised.
He was watching you. Not in the usual Luffy way — not like when he spotted meat across the room, or stared down an enemy. This was the kind of look that made your chest feel warm and your brain do a little somersault.
“Earlier,” he said, “you laughed when I said something about empathy”
“Thats not... I was mocking you!,” you replied. “I thought I was about to watch you get pecked into a new time zone.”
“But you still laughed,” he said, all sunny and smug. “You always do.”
“That’s because you’re ridiculous.”
“You like it,” he teased, nudging your shoulder.
You bit back a smile. “I tolerate it. Barely.”
He tilted his head, expression soft. “Zoro said it’s obvious.”
“…You talked to Zoro about me?”
“I asked if I could kiss you,” Luffy said bluntly. “He said ask you, not him.”
Your brain fizzled. “Wait. What—”
“So,” Luffy continued, turning fully to face you with that open, earnest joy you’d come to adore, “can I?”
“Can you what?”
“Kiss you,” he said like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Your breath caught. This was the same boy who just tried to eat a duck like it was a buffet item. Who once got stuck inside a vending machine trying to retrieve a stuck candy bar. Who sometimes forgot his shoes and didn’t notice for an hour.
And yet.
Your heart fluttered like it hadn’t gotten the memo about logic.
“…Yes,” you said, quiet.
His face lit up like a festival. “Yeah?!”
You nodded.
He scooted close—awkwardly but gently—and cupped your cheek, his hand warm and calloused. The kiss was clumsy, sweet, quick. His nose bumped yours, and when he pulled away, he had that stupidly big grin that made your stomach flip.
“WHOA,” he whispered.
“Yeah,” you whispered back.
He leaned back on his hands, practically glowing. “Gonna tell Zoro it worked!”
“LUFFY—NO—!”
Too late.
“ZORO!! I KISSED Y/N!! AND THEY SAID YES!! YOU WERE RIGHT!!”
You groaned and dropped your head into your hands as Zoro’s muffled “I don’t care!” echoed from the crow’s nest.
Sanji’s head whipped up from the kitchen door, his cigarette dangling dangerously.
“WHAT?!”
Luffy turned mid-skip. “I kissed Y/N!”
Sanji's eye twitched. “I leave you alone for ONE romantic sunset and you SNEAK AHEAD?!”
You, now partially hiding behind the mast, groaned. “Oh no.”
“Luffy, you absolute—! That was supposed to be MY kiss! I was going to bring you a fruit parfait! HOW DARE YOU KISS MY Y/N~CHWANNNNN!”
Luffy skipped back to you, unbothered and beaming. “Wanna kiss again?”
You peeked through your fingers. “If you promise not to announce it like a seagull with a megaphone.”
He nodded. “Fineee!. But I will write it in my logbook shishishi.”
“…You have a logbook?!”
“It’s mostly meat sketches and battle doodles. But now it has you.”
And your heart, traitor that it was, somersaulted again.
You sighed. “Fine. Just… no more trying to eat ducks.”
He tilted his head. “What if it asks nicely?”
You groaned, flopping back dramatically.
And somewhere in the distance, a vengeful honk echoed over the sea.

The Strawhats x Model!Reader (Modern AU)
Tumblr media
Lolita's Note: these are really short. just a few (some are platonic and some are romantic) headcanons for the strawhats with a model (gender neutral) reader! a bit of suggestive stuff (mostly crack) on sanji, zoro and brook's. enjoy ♡
cw: mentions of smoking and drinking.
Tumblr media
Franky
he's going to be SUUUUUPER supportive about your career.
i imagine him to be a mechanic/engineer in the modern au so your pairing is definitely unconventional
will develop an app that detects nearby castings when you're on the go.
and if he can sit somewhere in the audience during one of your shows, he's gonna put up a sign that says something like "I LOVE YOU MY SUPER HOT PARTNER"
will might get kicked out for obnoxiously cheering for you.
Usopp
he'll definitely think you're cool and will brag about you a lot to his peers.
so much so that he'll make up lies like you're also secretly the designer, or you're the highest paid model (even if you aren't).
he gets so mesmerized when he sees you walk in those pretty clothes and he will definitely take photos of you.
like a lot
will run a secret fan account that you will never find out and he'll brag about you lots on there.
Robin
this woman has connections. a LOT of it. she's the most likely out of all the strawhats to sit front row because of how many people she knows and she's affiliated with.
you both follow each other on instagram and people love to see what you two post. you're definitely a power couple, both online and offline.
your stories and feed will scream quiet luxury and glamour, and everyone is here for it.
she'll help you grow in your career and you might even rise to the top because of her.
she's like your manager and she'll do it for free just because she loves you so much.
Nami
you will be models together. period. no questions asked.
absolutely goes crazy during fashion week. she'll plan all your outfits a year ahead and she's very good at predicting trendy pieces in every. season.
will go with you to every casting and will not settle if the directors don't hire the both of you.
like robin, your online presence will scream power couple.
but the difference is you'll post a variety of things online.
one moment there's the baddest, coolest, and most amazing runway photos of you both and the next there is a video of you having the worst jet lag ever.
Jinbe (if he was human)
need a bouncer? say no more. he's got you covered.
this man will immediately know if there are sketchy people who pretend to do castings.
so you will go to him for advice about it especially when you're just starting out.
if you have an international gig, he'll pack you a lot of essentials (toiletries, medicine, staple clothes, you name it) and he'll be your personal body guard until you reach the airport.
make sure to send him photos, he'll definitely collect those and all the magazines that has you in it.
Luffy
do not bring him to an hour long fashion show, or his restless ass won't take it.
that said, he's also going to be very supportive even if he doesn't understand and relate to your kind of work.
he's the type to wait for your turn and then leave once he knows you're not gonna show up anymore.
will go 0o0 every time he sees you in designer clothing. and he will ask for a photo before you set out to stage.
he's so oblivious that there was one time where he innocently and confidently asked the designer themselves to take a photo of you.
you were definitely scared of being reprimanded and black listed.
luckily his child like charm lets the both of you get away with it.
Chopper (if he was human)
poor baby, he's going to be so confused.
he has no idea how the modeling industry works but he tries his best!!
will get lost in thought, admiring all the models (especially you) who wear the most unbelievable and extraordinary (to his eyes) pieces he's ever seen.
he's that little brother who claps and goes starry-eyed even if he doesn't know what's going on.
in his head he's like "cool cool cool cool!!!"
if he catches you smoking backstage he gets angry, and the other models will find that cute.
the thing is though, he's so well versed in medicine that he convinces all of you to stop smoking.
Sanji
oh boy.
this man is even worse than franky
he's not gonna scream or whistle or do loud things in a regular show (rtw or haute couture)
but! BUT
this man will get a sensory overload and will collapse.
do not invite him to a bikini/swimsuit show.
also runs a fan account about you and is SHAMELESS about it.
he will post the most out of pocket captions that you have to take his phone away for a week.
Zoro
this man is so fine that underwear and fitness companies want to hire him.
he is not interested. he'd rather see you model for a bikini/swimsuit calendar (which he'll definitely buy)
will also be your personal bodyguard. and he'll be secretly happy about it.
prefers to watch you model for photoshoots than walk the runway. he doesn't like waiting and he wants to focus on only you.
will be your personal errand boy and will take you out drinking after shows.
Brook (if he was still alive as a human)
this old man will either be the sound engineer, or the performer in one of your shows.
do not also take him to bikini/swimsuit shows or he will go around backstage reveling in all the panties he sees.
otherwise, he's pretty chill. he will socialize with other guests and talk about how pretty all the clothes are.
will also go to fashion week with you and get the attention of a lot of street photographers.

Rupert Campbell Black x fem!Baddingham reader

word count: 5.6k+
warnings: deceased parents, mild swearing
an: there will be 2-3 chapters to this and consider this like an introductory chapter
Tumblr media
-
Chopper fan whirled at a distance just above the grand lawn Tony Baddingham held another one of his evening tea grandeurs at. Some celebratory gathering for another show at Corinium, Rupert couldn’t care less but he had a knack for petty drama. The heads turned at the sound of the whirring, quite the way to crash a party. Bracing himself internally excited for the agitation on Tony’s face of someone disrupting his party like this he smirked at Bas, next to him, lazily rearranging his hung blazer by the crook of his finger over his shoulder. But Bas just shook his head, situational awareness as to who the person may be was about to bring Tony joy instead of annoyance.
Landing the chopper and out of it with a duffle bag across her shoulder the lady ran across the gardens to the public, Rupert’s intrigue at the unfolding scene turned to confusion as Tony’s face was lit up, “Y/n?!” He exclaimed pacing out to her and enlaced her into his arms. “I thought you were getting here tomorrow.”
“I wanted to surprise you.” She giggled returning his hug as the ever stone cold, ruthless Tony Baddingham was cheery like a child on a Christmas morning.
“Ah, kiddo!” He exclaimed, heartened by her gesture and surprise did have him. Kissing the top of her head he turned back to the party where everyone was staring at the interaction. “Y/n right here just got back from London….you send off your little darling girl and she comes back as a lawyer!” Tony flaunted announcing her surprise, putting his arm around shoulder just so proudly.
Rupert had no idea that the mystery Baddingham niece had grown so much. He had been aware of her existence and they had had brief meetings here and there but this was a new wonder to him. Watching her interact with the group, graciously. Exchanging hugs and small talks, sweet homecoming. “She is like the son Tony never had.” Basil commented letting out a puff of smoke which pulled Rupert out of his trance. “No offence.” Basil said in a small voice to Archie who did, get seemingly offended and dismissed himself with an eye roll. Basil simply shrugged that off.
“Swinging city ought to swing her back in no time.” Rupert replied, someone educated and meek seeming like her would not indulge in Rutshire chronicles for all.
“Oh no not this time, she is Corinium crown. Tony is placing all the Corinium lawsuits in her hands which is very trusting for him given this is first job.” Basil briefed Rupert of it, letting out a sigh.
“Family business eh?” Rupert commented as the two of them cackled at the same time, Tony’s values of family business were as grey as his morales. It did seem uncharacteristic for someone well educated and learned from London would work here under Lord Baddingham of all people.
“Tony has a will, should he fall under immediate tragedy…she is to inherit corinium.” Basil said with another inhale of his cigarette he couldn’t pan out of he was jealous or pitied the girl.
“Fuck off” Rupert said somewhat taken aback Tony even thought of something that far. Or the fact that he thought of inheriting that ugly business out to someone.
“Apparently it won’t die with him” Basil said with an exaggerated sigh, “And well…the darling girl gets whatever the darling girl wants. She has changed three boarding schools on whims, has had a chopper licence since 17 because she hates waiting for pilots, basically she was raised the same way as you if you were well educated.”
“I am well educated!” Despite of adhering the rest of information on the surprise guest’s life the last sentence really struck a nerve. Sure he did not have a law degree but he was educated enough.
“Precisely.” Basil said with a dismissive shrug “you do have good enough years on her just lack the Lord Baddingham influence.”
Rupert knew familial histories so well enough, especially with the ever poking Tony Baddingham. Whose elder brother and sister in law, y/n’s parents died in a tragic accident years ago. Leaving her with the eldest of the house, Tony as her godfather. “Godfather is as godfather does.”
“Had I been her godfather she would have turned out less of a cunt don’t you think?” Basil amused with a small smirk.
“She doesn’t seem like one.” Rupert answered, maybe she did not take so much after her godfather’s upbringing because Rupert was friends with her father initially, a respectably content man unlike Tony.
“Oh watch this” Basil said putting his cigarette out as he called after her. “Baby Angel! Long time no see” he said greeting her with a kiss on either side of her face well aware she did not like being referred to with such childish nicknames.
“My uncle from another grandfather.” She replied with a smile on her but it was more of a taunt.
“That relation has nothing to do with you yet you bring it almost every time!” Basil was irked to his core but he did not let it show, mirroring fake enthusiasm to be meeting her.
“Makes a good joke, doesn’t it?” She asked patting his shoulder with a unfazed smile. When Rupert clearing his throat redirected her attention.
“So nice to have you back.” Rupert said as he took her hand in his and planted a kiss on her knuckles, his eyes boring into hers as he let that ever intimate short lived gesture go on. She was quick to retrieve the hand.
“I am not sure I know who you are…” y/n trailed off as Rupert shared a puzzled look with his mate on the side. She may not have recollection to their brief meetings but simply being unaware of who he was? She let a beat of pause go on. “Please, I was kidding, Minister.” letting out a low chuckle she continued, “I just love the look of entitlement, ‘does she live under a rock! How dare she not know who I am!’”
“No, I’m sorry no I didn’t mean it as-“ Rupert began trying to make a save of yet another blow but she stopped him mid way. Just so bitter in the most caramel way possible this woman.
“oh no you don’t have to apologise and make it awkward” she shook her head slightly with as she interrupted him, “I get it. I too would want to be known well for my successful marriage and wobbly athletic career, wait or is it the other way around?” The joke was so well crafted even basil had to suppress a chuckle.
Rupert just started her, he had to take a moment to let that brutal joke in. He was at loss of words but not his charm as he shoved his hands into his pockets, “You have quite the humour there, angel.”
“It’s y/n.” for you, she didn’t say that part out loud and then excused herself as the gentlemen nodded at her exit.
“She obliterated you.” Basil commenced without looking at Rupert, he could bet the man rarely met someone to puncture his pride like this.
“You don’t say!” Rupert said sarcastically as he rolled his eyes, catching one last glance at her as she left them be.
-
The days went slow and hectic living back here for the new lawyer. She found it easy to deal with her uncle most of the time, she had done so all her life and contrary to popular belief he wasn’t as difficult, that was until she had to work for him…telling herself that this is her first job and the ringing words that not-everyone-gets-such-opportunity-handed-out-to-them. Fresh out of college she was just finding it hard to settle into workspace that was all. She had to keep reassuring herself.
“Morning uncle! Can we talk?” She said as she caught Tony hurriedly putting on his blazer for the day.
“Yes darling what is it?” He answered as he sat down on the small chair by the shoe rack to put on his shoes. Straightening his socks as he prompted the girl to go on.
“All these…cases. I have gone through 39 case files this entire time. Don’t you think that’s a bit of an alarming number?” She asked leaning against the staircase pillar.
“Are you sure you aren’t adding legal notices with case files?” Tony inquired, somewhat unfazed with the number he was briefed upon.
“No of course not” she said with a blank expression that he assumed she wouldn’t know to differentiate notices form cases, “Legal notices are somewhat…more alarming.”
“How so?” He scoffed as he lazily tied the laces of his boots.
“I can’t talk to you about this in the office, but have you by any chance committed tax frauds?” Y/n asked keeping her tone light not to sound accusing because she believed he wouldn’t obviously be doing that.
“By any chance?” He asked with a stifled laugh as though finding it absurd that it wasn’t already given. “Oh you sweet summer child. Tax frauds are a part of my business strategy—any business strategy. Matter of fact it’s my favourite hobby”
The colour in her face neatly drained at that admission. She was waiting for him to drop the sarcastic act and scold her as to why she would even bother to ask him such a question. He would surely never do such a thing, she kept waiting and waiting for a several moments for him to tell her otherwise. Leaving her wide eyed and stunned, “are you not joking?”
“Why would I be joking about money like that?” He asked and this time he was genuine with his tone which was even worse.
“Corinium has received a notice-! That is serious…thank god it is our first notice and came in my attendance, that near blind Ancient Greek grandfather of a lawyer Mr. Barnes would have practised sudoku on it and threw it in the trash!” She referred to the Corinium lawsuit ‘team’ which was a few of trainee students and this extremely outdated Mr. Barnes.
“Now Mr. Barnes has been with us for all these years and Corinium has never seen a dark day.” Tony shrugged, “and what really is a notice? A piece of paper at the end of the day.”
“By the government.” Y/n emphasised adding to his sentence feeling more and more distressed at the weight of this conversation. “I can push back one more notice, then another one but after that they could freeze our accounts and all provisions until we pay it back with the appropriate fine.”
“How much is it anyways?” Tony asked with an exasperated sigh as though he wasn’t aware how much he had evaded.
“It is a number so big I can’t even fathom so say it out loud.” She said leaning off of the staircase pillar. “…and I talked to the accounting team, turns out we are already in debt? Which makes us in triple debt.”
“As long as it’s not bankruptcy” Tony said with a breath of exhale, as he stood up. But she didn’t answer and just looked at him, silence speaking way more than any other way she could have conveyed that. “It is not bankruptcy…right?”
“It…could be.” She said with a downcast look which was enough to send the man into a spiral. Kicking the shoe stand he facepalmed himself.
“FUCK” he nearly roared but so used to his antics like this the girl barely flinched, he was a visual representation of her inner turmoil.
“Don’t speak of this to anyone at the office…it’s not a tax fraud. You don’t know a tax fraud—admission is like digging your grave. I could buy us time push the notice further back but just be nonchalant about it.” She advised him, he seemed to not be digesting it well.
“Can we call this a tax mistake? Do a jury duty? Put on a shitshow or something?” Tony proposed as he was pacing back and forth.
She let a moment slip by for him to reconsider that prospect before coming up with an answer, this isn’t kindergarten: she wanted to tell the man. “It’s the government…” she trailed off hoping that held some account for him.
“Right right yes.” Tony nodded hoping that could go on, all these years they haven’t received a notice to the extent of bankruptcy but perhaps this is all the years pilling up then?
“We can find a way out yeah? Just go to work like it’s any other day and don’t mention to anyone. Especially not that hag Mr. Barnes” She instructed her uncle as he left with a distasteful mood. Leaving her with similar with addition of distress for the problem at hand as well.
In order to clear her mind, fresh air ought to make do being the freest source perhaps. Strolling about the stables she came upon the horses, her long forgotten hobby of polo. Quite the phase, basil had picked up what put down so the horses were well kept. Initially she had just taken herself out for a walk, then it was a horse ride and somehow some way she had just found her way back to the old polo practise ground. She thought of blowing the dust away from her polo days, practising on the side lines leaning over with the mallet. Swinging the ball from the top of the saddle, recalling the way she was taught.
Y/n was out of the main pitch for others to be practising because she was just doing swing practise on the horse and didn’t want to get in the middle of bigger runs going on at the side. It was somewhat earlier in the morning still, not crowded at all you could say. People mainly practiced in teams at the ground.
Regardless, to her blossoming luck another such practiser was present at the same time. Rupert, the silhouette from afar was perhaps Bas to him since he recognised whose horse it was. Wanting to rile him up for banter, he sped up Rocky in the other horse’s, (supposedly Bas’s) direction. As he got nearer and nearer he realised that wasn’t actually Basil but it was his horse though, he was confused but Rocky spun around so fast the other horse neighed, swaying to the side in a frantic state. Which causes the rider, y/n to loose her balance as she fell off the saddle into the ground.
Rupert quickly retrieved the strings from Rocky’s saddle as he looked back, by now he had recognised exactly who he had mistaken basil for and felt uncharacteristically bad, “I am so so sorry my love I thought you were bas-“ he said as he paced towards her trying to hold her up from her arms but she was quick to yank away and stand up herself.
“Piss off.” It wasn’t that hard of a fall, but today had begun off to such a poor start she had come here to clear her head and yet fell on her face. By him, of all people.
“It was a mistake, it wasn’t my intention that you fallare you alright? Are you hurt?” He asked refraining from touching her but leant in closer bending a bit to her frame to examine if she was hurt bad or not?
“I am fine.” She said with an exhale, brushing off dirt from her clothes and taking a step back, curt reply and a frown on her face. Y/n realised she did not have to tolerate this bloke since they were not in a societal setting.
“You know you don’t have to hold your uncle’s disdain towards me? We are both completely different people are we not?” He said trying to make direct conversation to get to the root of her problem with him.
“I don’t hold his disdain against you.” She said, this man was so out of touch almost as if no one had ever not kissed his arse in every conversation that he’s had.
“Then why must you act so crude.” He pointed out as he crossed his arms casually.
“You just made me fall off my horse when I was on the sidelines.” Y/n replied with a raise of her brow to the obviousness in her answer and she did get his point, she did hold disdain against him. It just baffled her that everyone did not.
She had been around for over a month now and every party or run ins the both would have with another she subjected such scrutiny of his character over and over again. Uncalled for insults when he didn’t even say anything to prove that in the first place. He knew that she was aware what he was referring to, “I meant in retrospect, it’s like you have it out for me.”
“Have you considered that you may not be as likeable as you think?” She pondered straight the saddle strings back in its place as she pet her horse to calm down after the quite figurative jump-scare.
“See, see you’re doing it again!” Rupert pointed out exclaiming as if it would win him some reputation in her eyes.
“I just don’t want to entertain conversations with you” scoffing as she looked away from him stepping forward to the horse gently caressing the slope of its face.
Following her steps Rupert did the same and got in front of her eye sight again, “afraid you might find me likeable if you did?” He said
reciprocating her action of caressing the horse, putting his hand just a bit above hers “perhaps more than likeable?”
“I’m afraid of wasting my time because you disinterest me and bore me to death.” Replying plainly she withdrew her hand and maintained an arm’s length distance yet again. This time she ought to exit before this man ruins her pre-ruined day even more.
“Come on, my love it was only a joke.” He sighed with his classic charismatic smirk on his face as he watched her get on the horse. She didn’t even deem him worthy enough for her last word as she muttered a curse word under her breath and turned away with her horse leaving him to himself and Rocky.
-
A week since the tax scandal at Corinium, moreover a week since the scandal had come to light to the newest and the only functional lawyer the company had ever had. All the paperwork, the account meets, crippling debt to the company really distressed her to no end, obviously there was an entire family fortune at stake.
Announcing hurried and frantic presence at Basil’s pub, calling after him on the slowest hour of the day. “Basil!” She exclaimed, depending upon the day she added the term uncle optionally, today was not that sort of a day.
“In here” the man answered lazily, yet again to add to her marvellous day Rupert was present with him. Lounging by the window as basil was on the barstool, drinks and smokes.
If she were to conclude that the two of them came in a package deal she wouldn’t be wrong. “How much is the revenue for this place?”
“If you are looking to partner up with him, get back in line because I was the first to propose that and I have already been refused.” Rupert commented as the pair of best mates shared a snicker. Every time he would study y/n that week, it would seem like the weight of the world she was carrying on her shoulders was increasing more and more.
“Another family business you want to get into baby angel?” Basil asked leaning back on his seat, couldn’t miss the joke despite the urgency in her tone.
“No, I am seriously asking you.” She told him as she opened the file, tucked to het arm side. To recalculate something, the pile of pages she had filed were humongous. “What is the revenue?”
Basil just laughed, unapologetically and looked at Rupert who could not hold it back either. Both of them laughing like some inside joke she wasn’t in on, “Revenue? For this place?” Rupert laughed even harder “you know it’s adorable that you walk about in Knightsbridge tailored suits and blazers and that inherent frown but these big words…” he laughed catching his breathe. Basil said “Revenue” again and he lost his composure the second time.
“You earn nothing from this place?” She inquired from basil completely disregarding Rupert’s opinion.
“Not yet, this place is a passion project.” Basil explained vaguely which basically meant zero revenue.
“We are the ones who usually drink up everything, then there’s those prekend parties, the weekends, Monday blues, terrible things Tuesday and Wednesday is off mainly yeah?” Rupert recollected the entire schedule for Basil’s ‘passion project’.
“But it’s still got potential, besides it was never intended for income”Basil said with a dismissive shrug.
Could not be bothered more to be dragged into this family business mess further, adhering this information was reason enough why they were nearly bankrupt. “Bas, can you just go back home and explain that to uncle Tony it’s a bit urgent.”
“Sure is” Basil said making no attempt to move from his seat and leave home to visit Tony.
“No it, is.” She emphasised again, had the place any financial potential that conversation would not be difficult to be relayed on Tony but since that wasn’t the case, Basil can have at it and explain himself. “Urgent as in, if the only revenue this shithole brings is by selling the place, then we are selling the place. And if you mean to change that you have to go and have that conversation for yourself.”
“What could be urgent to that extent?” Rupert asked puzzled and the scenario because Lord Baddingham was not at all into having business conversations with his dear younger brother so it must not be business. Not at this extent anyways.
“Can you stop treating your nose like your cock and stop poking it everywhere?” Y/n retaliated very rudely this time to a simply curios question. But she could not care this was the third button he had pushed in the same conversation.
Alarmed and frustrated at that Basil stood up with a heavy side from his seat finally. “Y/n don’t be uncouth.” He corrected her as if that held any weight for her.
“No offence taken.” Rupert said lighting up a cigarette regardless, he was used to the uncalled for dialogues now.
Basil went ahead to grab his coat and remembered a set of instruction, “also, Tony happens to have fired the stable staff for some apparent reason now do not forget to put the horses back in there place properly. Ryder and Ranger have wandered off twice because of you!”
“—because of me?” She did not take well to any kind of accusation, true or false.
“Yes! You.” He said as he put on his coat to leave ever so urgently. “Horse of the week is one thing but must you take a different variety out everyday?”
“Hypocritical how you didn’t have the same sentiments with your friend here and women. Could’ve saved a marriage or two…” and trailed off to dismiss and pass around the blame. Knowing he couldn’t win this Rupert just rolled his eyes exhaling puff of smoke, as did Basil. Accepting his defeat and exiting the revenue-less place.
She walked across the bar counter to get herself a soda, sugar rush would not help her nerves but it could at least try. Not drinking on the job nor in general. Popping the soda can she came across the island again, “you know love if you plan to carry the weight of the world all the time you might want something stronger than that.”
“I am still working.” She told him in between big sips from the can, without even bothering to look at him.
“Running Tony’s errands is work?” Rupert amused trying to hold her short gazes. Ever insulting and poking conversation that he had with her seemed to pull him to her, but to what end? He couldn’t clarify himself.
“This, this isn’t an errand. I am collecting possible family incomes and land worths to keep the company afloat. Basil would tell you anyways so fuck it, Corinium is on the verge of bankruptcy and this pub, two out of seven helicopters because Tony wouldn’t budge, the old abandoned garden on the other side of town…they all could barely make ends meet and the amount of notices I push and write back to everyday is ridiculous-“
The mention of old garden made him interrupt her in a second, “you don’t mean the garden, the one by the stream do you?”
“Yes, that one…” she trailed off with little significance to its name. “God willing someone buys that stupid chunk of land.”
“You can’t possibly consider selling that off y/n, that was your father’s favourite place.” Rupert mentioned, well away Tony would have filled her ears of the fact that the old garden land was insignificant to keep his greedy share of the helicopters. “That is your true inheritance.”
“How would you know that?” She asked with a hesitant scoff, how could he be more informed of her father’s favourite places in this town. If so her uncle would have told her.
“I was close friends with him at one point, that stream…the wonders of it in the summer were other worldly. He loved that place like a second house.” Rupert told her and the sense of genuine admiration in his voice made her think otherwise.
“You were?” Y/n was confused, having lost her parents at a formative age she did not know much about either of them other than relatives telling her. “What was he like?” She asked not like suspecting him or cross checking but for actual enlightenment.
“He was a force of nature, everyone’s problems were his problems, he would jump in head first to help out anyone. Even people he barely knew.” He narrated reminiscing about the man, “A senior to your uncle, me, even bas…so wilful and steady in his mind, he poured his soul into everything.” He paused to let that sink in, by studying the look on her face it was new information to her. “It was after your birth I saw him less and less, I’d just started off training back then I barely came here. He was very fond of you, your mother too. Their loss was truly tragic…they would have been very proud of you, though you take after your uncle.”
His words were very heartwarming and captivating until he compared her to Tony, her uncle was very dear to her but he knew Rupert did not mean it that way. He only meant to highlight the bad bits of Lord Baddingham and associated her in the very same poor light. “Right, thanks.” She replied abruptly to stop him from going any further. A trip in the past to meet the characters of her parents at the cost of harsh perception of his eyes. No thanks. “I have to get going.”
-
The entire day after that amongst the pre existing mess, y/n thought of Rupert’s words. He did not even know her so well yet he associated her to be taking after Tony, as though carved out of all his evil. She did not turn a blind eye to her uncle’s flaws. She had been hyper aware of those even growing up. She knew how everyone else saw the man, cold and deceptive. Is that how Rupert saw her? She pondered to herself out for a walk at night, did it matter what he thought of her? Surely not. But it did not cease to bother her, she held her own obvious reasons of him being a deceitful, boastful and arrogantly proud man against him. But she was none of that? She wasn’t any of Tony’s vices either. Then why must he characterise her as such. She came upon the wide open stable doors on her stroll out and noticed Ryder missing from his place. “Oh gods not again.” She sighed heavily, realising she forgot to put him in his place properly again and the horse wandered off.
Couldn’t have gone so far, y/n thought to herself hugging her cardigan closer to herself as she walked through nearly three estates looking for the stallion. “Ryder!” She exclaimed wearily having no success of his sight so far.
“He wandered off again?” Rupert’s voice asked from behind as he approached from his gardens. All the sights but the godforsaken horse.
“Yeah…” she trailed off with a deep exhale meaning to squirm out of this conversation as fast as she could.
But he would not let her, “how long have you been looking for?” He asked walking up to her, in his gardens it was almost as if the crazy what-ifs in his mind were appearing outside.
“Not so long, it is alright I will find him” she replied with a courteous smile and nodded meaning to walk out his beloved property.
“Not so long and you just happen to end up here in my gardens, calling out for a rider?” Rupert said with a flirtatious undertone, she never entertained this behaviour which motivated him to do it more.
“Ryder is his name.” She said emphasising on the proper noun even though he knew that initially. “And you aren’t the 8th wonder of the world for me to walk across three estates to come and see on such a cold hour of the day.”
“I could potentially sue you for trespassing” He quipped proposing a hoax threat just to get under her skin.
“And I would gladly surrender, one gets 4 months for trespassing I would gladly fight for 4 more so I don’t have to see your smug face nor be in this hellhole!” She exclaimed draining out all her pent up frustrations altogether.
“Oh darling take a breath” he guided her motioning an inhale himself. “Do you want to come in for a drink?”
“Fuck off!” Letting out a frustrated huff she sighed slumping her shoulders “i don’t even like you, matter of fact I don’t even like talking to you and you do this every time” she said closing the distance between them pointing at his chest. “You-you get in my head you plant all these ridiculous doubts that someone like me should not be taking from you. I’m nothing like my uncle, I’m also nothing like you! I’m not like those wives of emotionally depriving husbands that are swooned by you! I personally, despise you!”
“You might not be any of those things but I am a very emotionally invested in you, I am swooned by you, you! You are at fault. You get not only inside my head but my heart and you’ve walked all over my sense of self and peace! You treat me so poorly and I’m this enthralled by you and yet you starve me of your good side-you starve me of your genuine smile and your laughter—“ he went on letting his pent up feelings all out because she got confrontational.
“Stop it-stop it I don’t want to hear this” she said turning away to leave knowing well enough this was another one of his jests and unserious remarks to toy with her. But he tugged her to himself holding her by her wrists.
“No you will hear this, personally, I despise you too!” Rupert repeated her words gripping both of her hands in just one, bringing them to his heart, “You make my heart beat so much faster and then you speak of me like I ought no hold no value in your world-“
“Stop talking—!” She wanted him to stop talking yet each one of his words were getting engraved in her brain. The sleep of this night, should it come will be long bothered by this very scene replaying over and over and the worst part was that she did not want to back away from him. How easily he held her to himself and how right she fight in his stature, so unknown to her composure.
“-that hurts. And it hurts that I hold such strong feelings that are so insignificant to you. It is perhaps not your fault but my foolish heart to fall for someone so taken to their own world—“
Before he could go on talking more and more she crashed her lips onto his raising a bit on her toes to reach up to his face. Rupert did stop talking, in the best way possible in his idea, smiling into the kiss he let go off her wrists and held her closer by her waist, placing his other hand by face. Deepening the kiss as he poured all his feelings out. Y/n held him, gripping his shirt for support as the two shared a overdramatised, angsty, passion filled kiss.
Situational bliss could last only for so long as y/n pulled away, to catch a breath, their eyes boring into each other. Even though reaching back to her senses…he did not let her out of his embrace yet. Sharing a moment in tranquil silence with the drum of their hearts beating in their ears. “No…” she trailed off with a heavy sigh breaking eye contact with him, “I have to go” she said pulling away.
It was no use calling out for her to wait because she was already sprinting away. Quite literally. All he could do was watch her leave and think to himself, she is going to be the death of me.
SORRY if this is fast paced man I am v fond of this format for some reason…next parts soon enough

🧸Luffy
As capable as luffy is at saving entire countries or protecting the crew, and as much as everyone acknowledges that he's gotten the teeniest, tiniest bit less reckless, no one in the crew expects luffy to look after his new daughter by himself. Luffy gets pouty though and insists about doing most of the work himself since you already did the hard part. So the entire crew pitches in to teach him how to bathe her, dress her, put her down for naps, rock her, and everything else he needs to know. He happily tells you about everything he learned at the end of the day, and reassures that he's taking care of it and that you can sleep and play as much as you want. And he technically does the first few weeks but then things get a little harder than he expects. She's fed and changed so why isn't she sleeping? Is this the sleepy cry or the hungry cry? Are there other cries than those? She's crying so hard her tiny fists are clenched up and he doesn't know what to do.
Starts running to Chopper every time she starts fussing, thinking something is wrong, like, feeding her didn't work so she must be sick right?( At first he kind of thought making sure she was full and burped would fix everything) It isn't until after Chopper explains to him that her crying isn't always an emergency, that he tries other things to calm her down first. Toys, maybe cuddles, maybe she just needs momma.
Unlike the other boys in this list though, even if the new experience throws him for a loop,Luffy never actually gets too worried.
Even if things are a bit confusing right now, Luffy has always had a sort of steady belief that things will always work out somehow, and majority of the time he's correct. So he's always reassuring you that everything will be alright when the stress of how much responsibility you both are really holding in your hands gets to you a little. Holding you close while another member has your daughter, and promising you with a big grin that even if you both are at a bit of a loss right now, you'll both eventually get the hang of it and that you shouldn't worry about the future.
Once she reaches a few months, feeding his daughter is definitely Luffy's favorite thing in the world, it doesn't matter how much of a mess she makes. His baby loves to eat just like he does and he finds that hilarious. She really is a big eater like her dad and gets chunky off breast milk and baby food rather quickly. You were kind of worried about it( Luffy wasn't, he loved it) but felt better when Chopper reassured you that she's healthy. Just like with your pregnancy, Luffy actually takes her little diet very seriously. No adult food until chopper gives the OK and even then he doesn't give her much outside of fruit and potatoes and things like that. She's always reaching for her daddy's plate though and if she can't get any of his food she looks at you, mommy, with pleading eyes. The entire crew finds it adorable and Sanji eventually puts aside tiny, unsalted portions of a few of the dishes for her to nibble and suck on.
Like earlier stated, Luffy loves her baby fat and he likes to fake nom on her cheeks just to hear her crack up. She's like a little mochi ball and the thought of it sparks an idea in his head but you shut it right down.
Settles for nomming and kissing her fat face all the time instead, loving the burst of laughter she always lets out after he does it. Loves to blow raspberries on her belly too for the same reason, if you're ever not feeling good he'll extend her towards your face and suggest that you blow on her tummy and you always roll your eyes before doing it anyway, especially since they both love it. Ngl he treats his months- year old baby like a toy and she rolls with it.
He always has time to play with her no matter what he's doing. Even if he's eating he'll find a way to extend a stretchy arm to shake a raddle for her, or tickle her, or even just pull her from her mat and hold her at the table with you two. He can be relaxing on the Sunny's head or hanging with Chopper and Usopp. He'll immediately pick her up.If his daughter wants his attention, she'll get it.
" Do you think her cheeks stretch?" He asks one day while you three are hanging in the aquarium. Luffy has his head in your lap while your daughter tramples and climbs over his stomach to get a better look at the fish. Luffy keeps a protective hand up to keep her from toppling backwards.
" Don't even start luffy. I highly doubt the fruit you ate will somehow pass down to her." You roll your eyes and flip through your magazine on the bench beside you, while your baby babbles in the background. Luffy huffs before passing your daughter to you so she can watch the fish over your shoulder instead. Her excited steps didn't hurt but he was a little tired of having his abs walked on.
" But how many devil fruit users do we know with babies?! It could happen!" He insists again and you shake your head. There was absolutely no way his rubber powers could be genetic. Right?

🧸Usopp
Usopp thought he was going to be pretty prepared when it came to taking care of your new infant while you recover. Like previously mentioned, he took a lot of time preparing while you were pregnant. Doing research with Robin, asking chopper things, and building toys and equipment. At least for the first few weeks, he's pretty sure he'll have everything under control.
But twins, another baby, changes everything
You both didn't know you were having twins, so Usopp only prepared enough things for one baby, but that's alright. He'll just ask Franky to start working on another bed and changing table, oh and for now the girls can just share clothes. He made a lot anyway right? Unfortunately though, that only works until one of your girls gains weight off breast milk faster than the other and can't fit her sister's clothes. So Usopp has to make more, but while his babies still need him to hold them, and change them, and soothe them. He ends up finding time to sew and build during the hour-long intervals that the twins sleep at night. The only problem is that he usually uses that time to well, sleep, but he tells himself that once the girls have everything they need then he can get some shuteye.
The lack of real rest though and the stress of being a new dad to two new babies is evident to you and the crew. Usopp's curly hair is tangled and knotted, he's yawning, and bags are forming under his eyes. You're not so hot yourself sure. Between learning to breastfeed and healing after giving birth to twins, you're pretty exhausted still, but even so, it's obvious that your man is really struggling trying to catch up on nine months of work that he thought he already did. So you and the entire crew pitch in to help with the girls so Usopp can focus on getting sleep and preparing the extra pairs of clothes, toys, and other important things(Franky helps build and Nami and Robin help make new clothes)
Things go much better for the sniper once he's no longer sleep deprived. Making the missing things go much faster with help, and in no time he has energy to actually spend time with you and get to know his girls.
Spoils his babies so much, the moment they start to cry daddy is right there to pick them up and comfort them
You and Usopp have a few arguments about this. How you think it's better for them to self soothe sometimes and how he thinks they can learn to do that later. How you think he won't be able to put them down without them throwing a fit, and how he thinks they shouldn't have to be independent at this age. Eventually you both have to teach the twins not to expect dad all the time and it's quite the devastating, loud process.
His babies like to grab at his nose whenever it's within reach, when he's dressing them, when he's feeding them, or even just when he's holding them, their dad's nose is the most interesting thing in the world to them right now.
Loves to dress the twins in matching clothes and prays that they don't grow out of that because he'll be absolutely crushed. He enjoys dressing them in colors that match your outfits too because he thinks it's cute when you match with your girls.
He's definitely the type of new dad to take hundreds of pictures while they're babies of the cutest or most mundane things. Like one of your babies trying to climb on a barrel with nothing but a diaper on or the twins taking a nap with uncle zoro.
" Why do they smell so good? I haven't even put any lotion on them yet." Usopp asks you as he presses his face into his baby's belly, and she just gurgles before taking the opportunity to reach for her dad's vulnerable nose. You all had just gotten out of the bath and were busy dressing them when Usopp suddenly thought of this. You pause and hold your other daughter that you were busy putting socks on, to your face.
" I don't know. That's just natural baby smell I guess. Even their diapers don't smell awful yet, but that could just be because they only drink breast milk right now." You shrug before giving your daughter a kiss and resuming putting on her socks before she gets cold.
"I'm not looking forward to the day they start to." He sighs before giving your other daughter a kiss on the cheek like you did and going back to dressing her.

🧸Zoro
Fatherhood gets real for Zoro FAST and he is not prepared.
The nine months you were pregnant had felt so long to him back then. No one else knew this but when you both were waiting, he was always laying and thinking about what'd it be like once the baby got here. What they'd look like, how he'd hold them, even as far as the kind of person they'd grow up to be. It was all he thought about. But now that your son was here,in his arms, it suddenly felt like everything had happened in a day.
Zoro won't lie, he was a little nervous when Chopper first told him that he'd be caring for your guy's son on his own most of the time while you slept and recovered. He was relieved though when he thought that you two had a very low-maintenance baby, that only wanted to eat and sleep(kind of like his dad)
But it's not long before the sleepless nights start
The lack of sleep is something Zoro never thought about. Your son waking up multiple times throughout the night shouldn't have been a problem, since Zoro has always been a night owl, but Zoro was actually tired during the night, why? Because he couldn't nap like he usually does during the day. Now, the day hours are reserved for feeding, and rocking, and baths. A lot of baths( why do babies get dirty so fast??)
If you ask him if everything is alright, he'll just brush you off and tell you to focus on resting, if Sanji or Usopp tell him to stop acting like he's the baby and just ask for help it turns into an argument. Zoro didn't want help. He could do this. He could handle this. He was Roranora Zoro, the second strongest on this ship. The steady rock that you and his crew could depend on. The one that trained for hours on end in the crows nest to stay that way. He's a father now too though and as much as Zoro wanted to succeed and take care of this for you and for your son, this was something he'd never trained for.
Zoro was tired.
And he hates it.
He looks at you both sleeping peacefully one night and decides that enough is enough. He's in over his head, and unfortunately so are you. So he puts aside his pride and asks for help from everyone(who were waiting on standby) His image as the strong and capable first mate didn't matter if it meant that he could take better care of his kid. He goes to Robin first, who unbeknownst to him had been sneaking tips in whenever he was in earshot, and from there it extends to everyone else, even Sanji, even Luffy. The crew couldn't be happier to help him out.
Once he gets the hang of everything, Zoro's favorite thing to do with his son, this is probably expected, is to nap with him. Once Nami gets him on a sleep schedule and suggests taking naps during the day with the baby, it becomes their routine.
He sits in the crows nest with his son on his chest, calmly waiting for him to doze off. His big hand covers the entirety of his tiny baby's back, and the heat from his palm always makes your son's eyelids droop. He'll breath slowly and steady and pat his back softly after being taught how to. He always stays up just a little longer to watch his baby that's comfortable on his chest, his tiny body not taking up much space and his tiny fist clenched against his skin. All this and the sunlight from the window warming him, Zoro's never had better naps. He's definitely gonna miss this when your son gets older.
"Zoro do you have-! Oh!" You start to whisper when you see Zoro's frown and your eyes fall on your baby resting on his chest. He had disappeared after you were done breastfeeding him, so you knew that Zoro or one of your crew mates had him, so you came to the crows nest to ask Zoro first. You walk over before sitting on the floor by them, giving zoro a kiss on his temple before settling down. A comfortable silence falls over you two as you both gaze at the tiny person you made together.
"Do you want me to take him to the bed instead?" You tease while you play with the protective fingers heavy on your son's back. When zoro just rolls his eyes at you, aware that you were poking fun at how soft he is for this, while you laugh to yourself. You're about to get up when Zoro pulls you back down, carefully moving his child to make room for you on his chest too.
" Where are you going? Hm?" His voice is raspy from keeping quiet in fear of waking your sleeping infant. He whispers another quiet "stay here" and you give in, resting happily on the chest that your son has claimed upon his arrival.
***🧸***
🧸Sanji
Sanji quickly takes on everything that needs to be done while you recover. With some help from your other crew mates when it comes to the meals on the ship, Sanji is able to focus on taking care of the baby and taking care of you, and while it's definitely strenuous, he's happy to do it. With all of his reassurance that he's got it under control and that you should recuperate, knowing what a capable person he is, and actually needing to recuperate, you don't notice how it's not going as well as you think until a few weeks after your son's birth.
For the first couple of days Sanji was on cloud nine. Everything had gone well and he was a father now. He enjoyed watching you learn how to breastfeed, giving his tiny baby baths in his tiny tub, and dressing him in the abundance of outfits the crew( mostly made by Usopp or bought by Nami) gave you two, but the longer he held his little infant in his arms, the more something fearful started to twist in his stomach. Thoughts of how vulnerable and susceptible to danger he is. Thinking of how even if he was strong enough to protect him physically, things like illness and sicknesses were something he couldn't do anything about. He even starts to be plagued by memories of his own childhood, thinking how he would never want him to go through anything like what his father put him through.
The anxiety continued to build until eventually there was an accident, and one accident was all Sanji's tired new-parent brain needed.
It wasn't that big a deal actually, Sanji wasn't paying attention and accidentally ran your son's bath water a little warmer than he liked( not by much, even in his fatigued state he'd never hurt his child). Your baby wasn't hurt, just a little startled by the warm water so he cried, but that was all Sanji needed to finally break down. Since you heard your son crying and didn't hear it come to an end like usual, you went to check on them and found your son sitting safely, but loudly on a fluffy towel and Sanji holding his head in his hands by the tub.
You check on him, thinking maybe he had slipped but when you see the faintest shine of tears on his face and he whispers to you what happened, you pick up your son, take Sanji's hand and walk them both back to your room. You both have a long and heartfelt talk that night, about both your fears and communicating and confiding in each other about it all, no matter how little it is( ending in kisses and cuddles for your stressed out hubby).
After that things go a lot smoother
Franky and Usopp surprise you guys with a highchair and it's quite literally the best thing Sanji could wish for. Now your son can join you all at the dinner table with his own chair and plate( not that the plate matters cuz he only wants the food if it's from your guy's plate) but the best part is that he can watch his baby while he cooks. Sanji just sets him at a safe distance and gets to work. Sometimes he'll do a fancy trick just to see if he can get a few happy claps or babbles. It rarely works when he's younger cuz your child is usually occupied with the food his dad gave him, but even if his baby isn't too interested in his cooking right now, Sanji still loves the company.
" I was sure we were going to have a girl. I honestly never thought of you with a boy." You say one afternoon as you watch Sanji and your boy with a smile. Sanji pulls his eyes away from his son on his lap, who is currently fighting his dad's large hands for the spoon he was using with his little ones, and looks over at you.
" Huh? Where'd that come from?" He asks you, laughing a little, before gently pulling the spoon away from your baby to stir whatever he was prepping for dinner.
"Well, I thought you'd be super affectionate with a girl, y'know? People always talk about dad's that would do anything for their daughters, but you're so affectionate with our son anyway." Your voice softens as you gaze at your little family lovingly. You had actually been the tiniest but anxious when your son was born, wondering if Sanji might be hard on him or if he'd feel less love for him. Past you is proven wrong everyday though when you see just how much Sanji adores him. Sanji just chuckles a little, embarrassed.
"Well, sons need love from their fathers too." He says softly, before brightening up when his son suddenly looks up at him and gives him a piece of tangerine. You smile and nod.
"You're right. Besides, I shouldn't be surprised considering the way you baby Chopper." You tease and walk out of kitchen to get a towel for the mess the fruit juice would eventually lead to.
" I do not baby Chopper!" Sanji calls out after you.

_______________________________
Luffy is upset today, he’s not sure why, he’s feeling this rush of some sort of unplaceable loneliness even though he isn’t alone at all, surrounded by people to love and spend time with and hug. He had fallen and broken a stack of glasses in the kitchen yesterday, and he was chastised for his clumsiness, smacked by Nami, shoved out by Sanji. He had cut his arm on the glass, nothing deep, nothing a couple bandaids from Chopper’s office couldn’t fix, but it still made him a little sad and distressed for some reason. He needed comfort but pushed it away and forgot about it.
So now he’s sitting on the bow of the ship and picking at the bandaids. He wants to go bother you, he needs some comfort, a hug from you seems to be an immediate fix for times like these. And maybe something more, he thinks, like playtime, sort of.
You’re reading a book Robin gave you, curled up on your cabin’s chair, the porthole open next to you for that crisp sea breeze. You’re delighted at those little sandal steps, your door opening, large, glittery eyes looking at you excitedly.
Luffy hops on your bed, rolling on his back and kicking his legs and reaching for you, a teasing grabbing motion with his fists. Absolutely adorable.
You lean over to take his hand, he squirms and giggles at the contact and he’s smiling so brightly.
“[naaame]…” he whines, trying to pull you to him but you pull instead, still holding his stretched arm as you sit back in the chair. He pouts and stretches his other arm out to you.
“No pulling, Luffy,” you say, gently removing one arm from your waist knowing his intention to yank you into bed.
“Please… can we please cuddle… I wanna really bad…” Luffy’s squirming again, begging, you just can’t resist him.
You set down your book, walking over to your bed and sitting by him which makes him squeal in delight and open his arms for a hug. You lay back and pull him up onto you, letting him bury his head in your chest and find a comfortable position as you pet his hair.
He likes to be nurtured. It’s a childish part of him that comes out sometimes, especially when he thinks about his old village and Ace and Sabo and Shanks, when he misses getting to play and explore all day and just be a kid. But he didn’t really have anyone back then to take care of him like this. Makino was the closest, he got a taste of the affection a mother could bring, but mostly he was just raised by himself and his brothers, and bandits, and he wasn’t really ever cuddled or held when he was young. So now you’re his person, he gets to be extra close to you and he’ll never be too much.
And usually he’s more dominant, even in his innocence and softness, he’s your captain and you’re his to take care of and keep safe, he picks you up and carries you and holds you against his chest, you’re his, he likes being in control.
But that doesn’t have to be always.
Those times like now where he paws at you and lays on you all slack like a baby, you just curl up with your arms around him and murmur comforting things in his ear. There’s those deer eyes again, searching, he’s leaning in to kiss you and you catch him halfway with his cheeks squished in your hands. Arms circle your waist needily and this poor boy has squirmed his way between your legs because he wants friction, maybe.
“Lu, hun, what do you want?” you coax gently, tracing his shoulders, you know he wants you so bad but he has to try to say what he wants if he wants something, that’s what you’re teaching him.
“Um… I dunno, I guess uh…” Luffy’s mind is cloudy, he wants your body but he doesn’t know what to ask for so when your thigh comes to naturally rest between his legs he just settles for this, at least.
You laugh lightly as he begins to grind on your leg, hips rutting, rhythmic but messy, he starts making these little whimpering noises in your ear as he rubs himself on you like a puppy in heat. You let him, hugging gently and just laying there listening.
“I… mm! I wanna suck your breasts?” He seems excited to have found words, talking casually as he continues to get himself off on your thigh, aching and growing beneath his pants. You can’t refuse him.
“Sure, hun.” This is perfect because you’re a little tired. Let your boy enjoy himself and relax with him and it’ll all be ok. And you pull off your shirt, you let him see you, and he grins before squeezing you tightly and latching on, suckling gently on your nipple while looking up at you with stars in his soft brown eyes.
“S’ good…” he growls, mouth full, nuzzling and gripping against you.
You lift him into your arms after a few minutes, when he gets teeth-y with your skin, he whines at the loss of contact with his mouth but lets you pick him up and place him in your lap, squeezing his face in your hands, giving him a caring hug.
“Luffy, baby, you want more, huh? C’mon…” You place your hand on the small of his back, rubbing his skin.
“Mmf… I wanna put my dick in you,” he says, voice in the most amount of innocence he could possibly sound with those words. You weren’t expecting this, usually he’s more innocent when you two play, when he asks for something, but you won’t complain.
You smile. You pet him lovingly, gentle praise. You kiss his cheek and then his mouth and he’s still in a teething mood so you need to pull away when he bites your lip, but you press his face into your neck because you always like biting there.
“Want some help?” you coo to him, tugging at his clothes, and he nods happily against you and makes a tiny sound.
His shirt is open, easy to slide off. Glistening warm skin meets the cool sunlight of the porthole, wave reflections, he’s so beautiful when you can see his bare shoulders. You take a moment to lean in and kiss them. And then his jeans, you have to sort of pick him up again to unbutton and remove them and his cock slaps your wrist, no underwear, you ignore your aching need to touch it and continue to take care of him, settling his twitching hips and tossing his clothes to the side.
Soft and bare, dripping with sweetness and innocence, he’s draped on you, sitting in your lap, naked and waiting to be touched in a gentle way.
Your shirt’s off. Now your jeans, your panties, Luffy starts moaning and thrusting into nothing at your scent and the feeling of your skin but you have to calm him.
“No, baby, let’s be patient ok?” You poke his cheek and he whines but just curls into you a little more, trying to wait like you’ve taught him.
You switch the positions of your legs, you’re on his lap, propped up on the bed, sort of straddling him, he’s sitting in front of you with his cock rubbing through your wetness, eyes hooded in pleasure, he’s waiting for your command because he’s yours to comfort and hold and protect right now.
“[naaame]…” he whines in such a little voice, staring up through his hair, begging.
“Move like this…” you murmur, lining up his hips so he can rub against you for a while, and get you wet. He does so in a careful way, biting his lip as he tries not to plunge within you just yet. You’re still so tired, you want lazy, careful sex. But Luffy’s the one who needs to be looked after and cared for right now. Nurture me, is what his eyes say, mind in a space so far away.
So once you’re warmed up and once Luffy’s being tortured by need and the rising and falling of his chest is pressed to you with brutal pressure, you smile and reach down to line him up yourself. He squeaks as he feels the touch of your hand down there, and the cocoon of velvet enveloping him, you can move just be gentle like I taught you, your smile says.
So he does. Instinctual thrusting fueled by pure love and appreciation, his hands reaching to grip your ass and lift you up more against him, he’s getting a little more dominant but just in an excited, playful sort of way. You hold him, you put your arms around his shoulders and breathe in his scent.
“So good, Lu, you’re doing so well…” you whisper in his ear as he works you into pulp, grabby hands, needy whines.
He likes to feel grown up but still be cared for. He doesn’t really know what he’s doing but he likes to be shown how. He likes to be cradled but to feel you so deep, his infinitely loving girlfriend who knows his needs, who would give him the world.
It comes eventually, that confusing knot in his stomach, now is the time he wants to be held the most. You squeeze him so tight and let him squirm in your arms as you carry him in coaxing gentleness through his powerful climax. He drips within you, you’ve claimed him with the comforting warmth of your body.
You make sure to pull him out and wipe him off and even in his hazy, submissive state he still makes sure to rub your hips and thighs and make sure you’re ok and nothing hurt you. “Was that good? Did I do good?” he murmurs as he squirms onto his back in your arms like a cat looking for affection.
“So good.”
Luffy’s restless now, he needs to occupy his mouth which he often does before sleep for self-soothing, and he’s going to nurse right now, curled up in your arms. So he reaches for your breasts again but that’s when you see his arm.
“Hey Lu, what’s that? Did you hurt yourself?” You lift his forearm for examination and he blushes in slight shame. Because you then say, “when did this happen? You shoulda told me!”
“Um, yesterday. I dunno… I fell and broke some glasses and I thought you’d get mad, it’s just a scratch, I’m fine.” He avoids your eyes.
“I’d never be mad at you for something like that, it’s ok, accidents happen.” You run your hand through his hair. “These bandaids aren’t fresh, we gotta get you new ones, hun…”
“N- no! Don’t leave… I don’t wanna let go!” Because he’s attached to you in a tight embrace and can’t picture a world without your arms right now.
“It’ll just be a minute-”
“Carry meee! Please, please, please-” He’s scrambling up your body as you begin to sit up so you let him. You stand up shakily because Luffy is glued to your back, arms around your shoulders and face buried in your neck.
You get bandaids from your cabinet, you have to pry Luffy off of you and let him curl up in your lap again so you can gently change clean and re-bandage his scraped arm. This protective kindness lulls Luffy, it makes him sleepy and happy and like he needs to take a long nap with you which, from the beginning, is what you were excited for. Pulling a curtain over the porthole you’re back to laying on your bed, letting Luffy drift off with his mouth on your breast, calming and grounding for both of you. His hands find yours in his dreamy state, holding on, wanting you to know how much he loves you, in a quiet and innocent way.

Hey hope you having a good day, I was requesting for one piece one shot. So can we do that child reader doesn't act like their age instead they act like a grownup and are VERY mature. Causing them to be like an entire grownup and having worries and feels the need to fix a promblems on their own like a groen up. If its alright can we do the (SH) , (WP), (HP) that try to help child reader feel more like a chuld so reader dosent overthink over things that are not for their age. Thank you. Love your books ♡
─Strawhats, Whitebeard Pirates & Heart Pirates x child!reader (Platonic)
─Summary: The crew takes you on a surprise trip with the intention that you enjoy and behave like someone appropriate to your age.
─Warnings: none
Tumblr media
Everyone noticed your strange behavior from the beginning, at least, strange for a child of your age, when normally children were carefree, naive or whiny, you never stopped worrying about things that you definitely shouldn't worry about.
Expenses, proper nutrition, daily exercise to keep fit, you had a notebook where you had a rigorous table for each month, an organization that prevented the anxiety of not knowing what to do or how to act from bothering you, you didn't need 'unnecessary' or 'wasted' time in your life.
What completely confused Luffy was why didn't you want to play with him and Ussop? Normally children are a bunch of inexhaustible and elastic energy, but you prefer to do some problems to train your mind, which is fine in a way, but you didn't even like stuffing yourself with candy with Chopper, you were a child for god's sake! Your arms and legs were small, you still struggled with psychomotor and coordination problems in some situations, but you behaved like someone divorced and with debts piling up non-stop.
Of course, Robin and Sanji noticed that all that maturity disappeared from time to time, in your most vulnerable moments, when mental fatigue takes its toll on the deepest part of you, that's when you let out your true behavior, the one you should have at such a young age.
"Aren't we deviating from the established route?"
"Don't worry about it, we just took a detour, we need to buy somethings before the island we were originally going to."
Nami frowned at the exaggeration in your voice, always so exasperated at the slightest change, thinking it would cause some trouble, of course you were worried because you hadn't noticed that the supplies were running out, but luckily Zoro was able to keep you distracted enough for you to notice that they didn't really need to go shopping.
Your expression was completely indecipherable when Franky put you on his shoulder, pointing at the strange city that was on that island, something similar to the roller coasters and attractions of Sabaody, but on a smaller scale, that they came across this island was luck, Brook read about it in the newspaper and they all agreed that a break wouldn't hurt anyone.
"Are you sure we can take a break? The log pose will get deconfigured if we take too long."
Jinbe patted your head, pointing at one of the milder attractions, silently asking if they should go there or to other intensities.
"We have everything under control, where do you want to ride first?"
"I don't know, I've never been in an amusement park"
You rested your chin against Franky's head, a little embarrassed at not knowing what to do, the fish man smiled softly at you and decided to guide you all to the more childish area, everyone divided and joined together depending on each one's tastes, although at first you felt insecure, you began to enjoy and appreciate the time off, letting your mind go unconcerned about things that were beyond your reach, bringing out your most capricious and childish side, you allowed yourself to be a child during the day. The crew still had to fight your worries, but they were relieved to see that your childish mind was still there.
Tumblr media
They're worried, very worried, Marco was the first to notice how you seemed to lose hair for every little problem that happened on the Moby Dick, was there a shortage of food? You were making a shopping list, did the cannons have a malfunction? You'll read books about them so that the defenses don't go down, was there a mess after a party? You got up early to leave everything spotless.
You didn't even bother to run around the deck with Ace, he adored you and used to drag you around to play little pranks on the crew, but you always left him hanging, excusing yourself by saying that they were absurd things and that there were problems to deal with. So everyone has a meeting to talk about why you act like a grumpy old person and not a carefree child, Izo really thinks he'll see wrinkles on your face when you reach adolescence.
"We have to keep the child from thinking about that kind of thing, the other day asked me if I had done the inventory of the medicines."
"My god… the other day the kiddo asked me if could start shooting."
"Mmmh, the child asked me if could start hand-to-hand defense training too."
"Kiddo was worried because the portions didn't have enough vitamins that an adult needs to ingest."
Whitebeard listened in silence, his face darkened as he continued to listen to the others' conversation, he needed to end this, you're not at the age to occupy your mind with that kind of worries, you should worry about getting enough sleep, having fun, getting into mischief, being a little fussy or whiny… it caused him deep pain to see you like that.
"The discussion is over, let's make the child behave like a child."
Everyone listened to their captain's strict orders, his absolute word spreading throughout all of his subordinates immediately, leaving you confused when you were prevented from doing anything the next day, unable to enter the kitchen, Marco's office, or the small armory, you had no time to get angry at the fact that they were delaying your work because Ace dragged you into mischief. It wasn't what you had planned to do today, but since you had no other options, you preferred to keep your mind occupied than to think about why your captain wouldn't let you do what you usually did.
With your thoughts much less occupied, the simplicity of spending a good time with the people who love you made you show a facet much more in line with your age, you laughed carefree at how Marco tripped over a bucket that Ace left lying around, you escaped from Thatch after throwing flour on his face, Izou caught you trying to steal his makeup… your mischievous attitude gave years of joy to the crew, your laughter sounded throughout the ship like a melody, something you usually didn't do.
"This is much better, I hope you can take things more calmly, you will have time to grow up."
Whitebeard directed his words towards you, although you were completely asleep on his lap, he smiled tenderly, caressing your head, he didn't want you to worry about adult things again, you don't need to grow up so fast, you have to give him time to cry when you are a full-grown adult, but you need to enjoy your childhood first.
Tumblr media
Law appreciates you, he really does, he loves that you understand that everything has to be clean, disinfected, organized... it's okay that you want to have a healthy routine and he doesn't prohibit you from taking care of yourself, but my god, you have the behavior of an impulsive parent who has twenty children and doesn't have time to take care of them all.
Ikkaku takes care of the food, Bepo takes care of the navigation, Law is a doctor, Shachi and Penguin… well, they are there, but you don't need to occupy all those positions when you think something is going to cause problems. Law understands that you may be a little ─too much sometimes─ more mature than most children your age, he himself had to face childhood in a hard way, but you didn't have to go through that, everyone was there to take care of you, pamper you, you can have a totally normal childhood without worries, however you decide to make all the problems yours.
"You have to stop, I've already told you that you don't need to worry about those things, I'm the captain."
"But-"
It only took one look from your captain to stop you from ranting, he confronted you directly because he knew you would understand what he meant, but you got to the point of worrying about things that he didn't even care about, you need to relax or your heart would stop. No one has died from a little disorganization, some junk food or not washing their hands after eating with nothing but a napkin. But it was too hard to put all those thoughts aside, the crew made sure not to let you think about it too much, but with each passing day it seemed like you were blowing more and more smoke out of your ears like a locomotive at full speed, you could stop doing things but not overthinking them.
He had to pull you out of the Polar Tang, the idea was from the idiot duo, but it was what he needed right now, a stupid and fun idea, ─although Law didn't find it too funny─ he stopped at the first snowy island he found and let the chaos begin on its own.
"This is war, eat snow!"
It only took one of Penguin's snowballs to hit you to activate a switch in you, you don't know if it was out of frustration or because you were having a good time, but you started throwing snow left and right, Ikkaku, Bepo, Law, Jean Bart… they were all fired without discrimination, you didn't stop to think about how the snow got under your clothes or that you'll catch a cold after this, you enjoyed the moment without your mind plagued by unnecessary problems.
"That's our child! ack-"
The crew smiled upon hearing your malicious grin at having hit Shachi, who was celebrating that you had hit his friend, unleashing your most childish and hyperactive side, however he also suffered the consequences of your change of mentality, they still had a long way to go before you stopped behaving like a complete adult, but you let those more childish hues that you hid from yourself show.

“Reader, I don’t see any!”
Chopper, shh, Look, look! I see the cotton candy over there! So yummy!” the child whispers to their partner in crime in the mission of obtaining sweets
“Oh! It’s right there! Let’s get it!” Chopper gets up to retrieve his delicious snack
Reader is quick to grab Chopper and pull him back to their hiding spot
“Chopper, we have to be sneaky! You can’t just go and take it! We don’t have any berry.”
“But it smells so good,” Chopper whined quietly
“I know…and it looks so fluffy, too,” the child says, drooling
“Reader..I need it.” Chopper’s eyes were wide with excitement as his heart yearned for the delicious snack
“I need it, too!” They cried, hugging Chopper as they both cried.
“What will we do now?” Chopper sniffled
“D-do you think it would be bad if we, you know... grab it?”t
“I don’t know…” Chopper replies as he looks around for any adult eyes
“Miss Nami does it….
“That’s true..and she hasn’t gotten in trouble.”
“So maybe it’s okay?”
“Yeah, I guess that means it’s ok,” Chopper says with a smile on his face
“But umm, how do we sneak past the cotton candy man?
“We’re just gonna be quick; grab it and run!” Chopper says as he hops out of the hiding spot and goes to grab the cotton candy
“You will be doing what now?” an angry voice sneered behind them
The two squeak as they turn around and see a fuming Nami
A heart-stricken Sanji right behind her
“Well?” She said, crossing her arms and giving them a look
“Oh..umm...Hi!” Chopper says with a nervous smile on his face as he quickly gets up from the ground
“We were going to get some cotton candy?”
“You were going to steal it?” Nami asks, her tone getting angrier
“W-well, you do it always, so we thought it was okay..”
“I do it because I can. Are you me?” Nami stares them down, giving them a stare that could kill
Both of them let out another squeak, running towards Sanji and hiding behind his legs, peeking around to look at the fuming Nami
“Nami-chan~ Im sure they meant no harm,” he said, giving her his usual heart eyes and rubbing the heads of both the children
She huffs before her tone softens as she begins to rub her temple and walks towards the stand, returning with two sticks of cotton candy and handing them to both of them as she kneels.
“Next time, just ask, okay?” she says with a small smile
“Thank you!” Chopper and Reader say while happily accepting the cotton candy they had been craving for
“We promise we’ll ask next time.” Chopper replies!
They glance at each other with star eyes and mouth-watering smiles, grinning
Chopper and Reader happily begin eating their cotton candy with a big smile on their face
“It’s so yummy!” They exclaimed, jumping up and down.

Yall I was doing some googling and looking up the standard child height at 3 (I’m a teacher but kids are all different heights depending on their parents and whatnot so I wanted a global average) and it’s like 90ish cm and thats the same height as chopper 🥹 👯.

Daycare Dawn
One Piece x Reader — Aged Down!Straw Hats
You blinked slowly.
Then again.
Then again, just in case the sun was playing tricks on your eyes.
“...Okay. Deep breaths,” you murmured, crouching down in front of the small crowd of miniature pirates now staring up at you with the exact same expressions as the fully grown Straw Hats you knew and loved. Just...shorter. Rounder. With missing baby teeth and too-large clothes.
In front of you stood your crew. The strongest, weirdest, loudest found family you’d ever had.
Only now?
They were all children.
“(Y/N),” tiny Robin said calmly, her oversized cowboy hat slipping to one side of her head. “You appear to be panicking.”
“I’m not panicking,” you lied, kneeling down and pressing your hands to your cheeks as your eyes swept across them again.
There was 7-year-old Chopper sniffling, wrapped in a t-shirt that now draped over him like a cape. He looked like a plush toy you could find in a gift shop.
There was 9-year-old Usopp who already had stick-on stars and bandaids plastered all over his cheeks, doing ninja moves behind you because he thought you weren’t watching.
Zoro and Sanji—11, both of them—were glaring at each other with identical disgust, the former already trying to sneak a training weight under his shirt and the latter attempting to pull a cigarette out of his pocket only to find a lollipop instead.
“Oh no,” you muttered, looking to Luffy next.
The 9-year-old boy was in the middle of climbing the mast like it was a jungle gym. “(Y/N)! (Y/N)! Look what I can do!” he called, hanging upside down from the crow’s nest, grinning like a maniac. “I’m gonna jump!”
“You’re gonna what—” You sprinted to catch him, only for his rubber body to bounce harmlessly off the deck like a living beach ball. He cackled as he rolled in a circle.
Nami, age 10 and furious about it, stomped over to you with her arms crossed. “Do you know how long it took me to grow out of this hair phase?! I look like a dandelion!”
You opened your mouth to respond but froze as a clunk clunk echoed from the stairs.
Franky had arrived.
Sixteen-year-old Franky—barely out of braces and with an unfortunate blue fauxhawk haircut you would later learn was a "daring phase"—grinned at you from ear to ear.
“YO! This is SUPER!!” he shouted, attempting to flex his scrawny arms. “Check out these noodle guns!”
Your soul quietly left your body.
Robin, the most composed of the group at ten years old, patted your shoulder gently. “You appear to be experiencing emotional collapse. That’s understandable.”
“Thanks, sweetheart,” you replied, weakly.
And then—skeletal violin screech.
Brook poked his head out from the kitchen doorway, still a skeleton (as ever), but somehow… younger? If a skeleton could be “youthful,” Brook was pulling it off. He even seemed to be standing a little straighter.
“I’d offer to babysit,” he said, bowing dramatically, “but as you can see, I’m bone-tired! Yohohohoho!”
You tossed a dishcloth at him. “You’re not helping!”
“Oh, I’m not helping,” he said with a wink you could feel in your bones.
You dragged both hands down your face.
So, to recap: Some weird Devil Fruit user hit your crew with an ability that aged them down. Not mentally—not entirely. They still acted like themselves. But there was definitely a whole lot more chaos, tantrums, and bursts of uncontainable child energy going on than usual.
And you were the only one unaffected.
Which meant—
“(Y/N)!” Chopper cried, tugging your pants leg. “I accidentally turned into my heavy point and crushed Sanji!”
“I’m fine,” came a muffled voice from under the couch. “But I think my nose is broken. Again.”
You sighed. “Okay. Right. New rule: No transforming without warning me first.”
“(Y/N)!” Usopp yelled from the upper deck. “Can I ride the cannon?”
“No.”
“Too late!”
A BOOM shook the ship as a puff of smoke exploded from one of the Sunny’s cannons—followed by giggling.
Robin sat on a crate, already reading a book. “I took the gunpowder out,” she explained. “Figured that might be necessary.”
You dropped to your knees and clutched your head. “This is fine. Everything’s fine. I’ve definitely babysat this many children before. This is just like that time I watched Chopper, Nami, and Usopp for ten minutes and no one lost a limb. Same vibe.”
“Technically,” Robin mused, “Usopp did sprain his ankle.”
“Robin.”
“Just saying.”
Franky ran by in platform shoes he made out of tin cans.
Sanji was making tiny, child-sized bentos.
Zoro was napping on top of the fridge.
Brook was serenading himself in a mirror.
Luffy was trying to fit an entire watermelon in his mouth.
And you… you were going to need a nap. And snacks. Lots of snacks.
But despite the chaos, the wild energy, and the feeling of being totally overwhelmed by this whirlwind of tiny terrors—
You couldn’t stop smiling.
Because damn it… they were adorable.
--
You stood in the kitchen, sleeves rolled up, hair tied back, and a growing mountain of sandwich triangles before you.
It had taken you ten minutes to realize that child-sized Straw Hats had the same appetites as their adult counterparts—which was to say, limitless.
“Okay,” you muttered, lining up the last few plates on the counter like you were preparing for war. “Peanut butter and jelly. Tuna. Egg salad. Ham and cheese. And… a few veggie ones. For balance. I am a god.”
You turned just in time to see Luffy’s wide eyes peering over the counter like a cartoon character, hands gripping the edge.
“Are those… sandwiches?” he asked, voice trembling like he’d just seen the One Piece itself.
“They’re not even fancy ones,” you said, lifting a plate.
“I don’t care.” Luffy looked on the verge of tears. “They’re beautiful.”
And just like that, the feeding frenzy began.
Within seconds, your kitchen was overrun.
Zoro was casually grabbing ham-and-cheese sandwiches two at a time, his mouth too full to speak but still managing to grunt his approval like a tiny caveman.
Sanji, despite his age regression, had a pinky up while eating a cucumber sandwich, face flushed as he muttered, “You cut the crusts off… (Y/N), you care so much it hurts—”
Nami had claimed an entire plate of egg salad sandwiches and was sitting cross-legged on the counter like a tiny queen. “You’re getting a tip after this. I'm budgeting it in.”
Robin, who you swore had never smiled wider than this, calmly took a bite of a veggie sandwich. “You have excellent knife skills,” she praised. “These are perfectly symmetrical. I feel respected.”
Chopper made a noise somewhere between a squeal and a gasp, eyes sparkling. “There’s peanut butter in my mouth and in my heart,” he whispered reverently.
You were dangerously close to melting into a puddle of goo.
Usopp had stuffed his cheeks so full he looked like a chipmunk, dramatically flopping to the floor. “I’ve been reborn,” he declared. “This is my new origin story.”
Brook, despite being a skeleton and physically unable to eat, took a plate and sat politely at the table anyway. “I can’t eat it,” he said, holding the sandwich tenderly. “But it’s the thought that nourishes my soul. Yohohoho!”
Franky took one bite, froze, then immediately built a cardboard shrine in your honor out of old cola boxes. “This is the most SUPER sandwich I’ve ever had!” he shouted, fist raised. “I will protect this kitchen with my life!”
“I only used white bread and sliced meat—” you started.
“DIVINE BREAD,” Luffy insisted, eyes wide with awe.
“You toasted the edges?” Sanji whispered. “(Y/N). Marry me.”
“I’m too old for you right now,” you shot back, flicking his forehead.
“I’ll wait.” He clutched his sandwich like a declaration of love.
Zoro looked up, crumbs clinging to his cheek. “What’s a ‘marry’?”
You opened your mouth to explain, but Luffy had already shoved another sandwich in his mouth and mumbled, “It’s when you get extra snacks forever.”
“Oh. I wanna marry a sandwich.”
“You are a sandwich,” Usopp muttered, still collapsed on the floor.
You stood in the middle of the chaos, watching them eat and laugh and yell over one another, with little jelly fingerprints smudging the counter and sticky mouths smiling up at you like you were some kind of hero.
And, yeah.
Okay.
Maybe this was a nightmare for some people.
But watching these tiny versions of your crew—your family—tear into simple sandwiches like they were sacred relics?
Yeah. You could handle this.
Even if you were now officially the Mom, Dad, Cook, Babysitter, Emotional Counselor, and Occasional Jungle Gym of the Straw Hat Pirates.
You didn’t mind.
You were smitten.
--
“GUYS,” you yelled from the deck, holding a dish towel and looking absolutely unhinged, “I NEED FIVE MINUTES. JUST FIVE. MINUTES.”
So far, your afternoon had included:
28 sandwiches distributed.
14 sandwiches dropped.
2 sandwiches stuffed into your pockets “for later,” according to Usopp.
And 1 tiny Brook playing the violin dramatically in the background the whole time like your life was a telenovela.
You were beginning to think the Devil Fruit that did this to them hadn’t just reversed their age—it had amplified their chaos.
“(Y/N)!” Luffy’s voice rang out like a gunshot. “WATCH THIS—!”
You turned.
Too late.
He had launched himself off the side of the Sunny using one of the cannons as a springboard, aiming for… something? A fish? A cloud? The concept of fun?
Either way, he was headed straight for the sea.
“LUFFY—!”
Your heart dropped.
You sprinted to the edge of the ship and dove after him without thinking. The ocean rushed up to meet you, your arms cutting through the water as you spotted a flash of red and rubber beneath the surface.
One firm grip on the back of his vest later, and you hauled a very soggy, still-laughing Luffy back onto the deck.
He spat out a mouthful of seawater and beamed at you.
“That was AWESOME—!”
You flicked his forehead so fast, even he blinked.
“No. More. Launching. Yourself. Into. The. Ocean.”
He rubbed his head, then gave you a sheepish, child-sized grin.
“Okay,” he mumbled, then immediately whispered to Usopp, “...Next time, aim better.”
You gave him the look.
Inside, another disaster was brewing.
“NAMI,” you barked, storming into the common room just in time to see her holding out a tiny ledger.
“What is this?” you asked, even though you already knew the answer.
Nami smiled sweetly. Too sweetly. Suspiciously sweetly.
“A perfectly reasonable breathing fee,” she said. “Usopp’s been taking extra breaths today.”
Usopp, clutching a handful of shiny buttons he’d already offered as payment, nodded. “It’s fair. I was really huffin’ earlier.”
You pinched the bridge of your nose.
“No one is being charged for breathing,” you said firmly. “You can charge him when he starts asking for air delivery.”
“But—”
“Nope.”
Usopp looked a little disappointed. “So I get to keep my buttons?”
“Yes.”
He threw them in the air and started dancing under them like it was a parade.
You turned the corner.
Only to spot Chopper sitting cross-legged on the couch surrounded by medical supplies. He had at least four syringes sticking out of his little hooves and was carefully inspecting a scalpel.
“CHOPPER.”
He froze.
“…Hi?” he squeaked.
You crouched down beside him. “Hey, buddy. Whatcha doin’?”
“I was just… doing pretend surgery. On this banana.” He held up a very unfortunate banana with a bandaid over its middle.
“Aw, that’s cute,” you said gently. “But maybe let’s not use actual needles right now, yeah?”
He nodded rapidly. “Right! Right. Sorry. I forgot I’m seven.”
You took the scalpel away and replaced it with a plushie shaped like a liver. “Operate on this instead.”
His eyes lit up. “I love you.”
“I love you too, you tiny menace.”
A loud CRASH interrupted your moment of peace.
You whipped around just in time to see Zoro and Sanji rolling across the deck in a tangle of flailing limbs and shouted insults.
“You’re cooking smells like feet!”
“Your sword stance looks like you learned it from a goldfish!”
You stepped in between them, arms outstretched, a flip-flop in one hand for intimidation.
“BOYS. NO FIGHTING ON THE SHIP.”
Zoro froze mid-punch. “He called my eyebrows weird again.”
“They are!”
“That’s racist!”
You held up the flip-flop higher.
They both instantly sat cross-legged and folded their arms like little monks.
“Thank you,” you said, deeply exhausted.
Behind you, Luffy had started drawing faces on the deck with mustard.
Usopp had convinced Chopper to wear a sock on his head as a “doctor crown.”
Franky was trying to upgrade Brook’s violin to shoot fireworks.
And Robin had quietly installed a “help” sign in the kitchen window.
You put your hands on your hips, looked up at the sky, and exhaled deeply.
“Okay,” you whispered to yourself. “Just… eleven more hours ‘til bedtime.”
--
Bedtime had started as a hope.
Then it became a goal.
And by the end?
It was a full-blown campaign that would go down in the history books as the “Battle of the Bunkroom.”
But somehow—somehow—you made it through.
You’d started with the easy ones.
Robin, ever graceful even at ten, had calmly brushed her teeth, climbed into her blanket nest, and said, “Goodnight, (Y/N). You’re doing a wonderful job.”
You almost cried on the spot.
Franky, now a lanky teen with too-long limbs, high-fived you, announced he was “recharging his SUPER batteries,” and collapsed onto a futon with mechanical snoring sounds. You covered him with a blanket. He muttered “gear maintenance…” in his sleep.
Nami grumbled, “Only because I have important dreams,” and curled up on her own pile of pillows with her ledger tucked under one arm like a stuffed animal. She was out in minutes.
Chopper and Usopp? Already asleep. Cuddled up in a sleepy little pile on the couch like a deer and a raccoon, legs tangled, Usopp drooling slightly onto Chopper’s ear. You didn’t dare move them.
Brook was sitting upright in a chair with a cup of tea and a lullaby on his violin. “I do not sleep,” he said politely, “but I shall vibe respectfully.”
“…Thanks?”
“My pleasure. Yohohoho~”
The final boss of bedtime?
Monkey D. Luffy.
He’d declared he didn’t need sleep, wouldn’t sleep, had never heard of sleep—and then passed out mid-sentence while arguing with a broom. You caught him before his head hit the floor, bundled him up like a burrito, and gently tucked him into bed.
“Goodnight, captain,” you whispered.
He let out one sleepy “meat…” and began snoring.
You were so close.
Only two remained.
Zoro and Sanji were seated at the table across from each other, eyes narrowed in concentration, arms crossed, faces set in serious little scowls.
“Whatcha doing?” you asked.
“Staying up longer than him,” Sanji muttered.
“Tch. As if you could,” Zoro scoffed.
You blinked. “This is… a competition now?”
They nodded. In perfect sync.
You sighed and collapsed into the chair between them, resting your head on the table. “You know I could just say ‘lights out’ and win, right?”
“We’re already past lights out,” Sanji said smugly.
Zoro grunted. “She’s got wine waiting. Bet she wants us to go to sleep.”
You gave them both a deadpan look. “That’s disturbingly accurate.”
They stayed quiet for a moment, and you just… sat there with them. The ship had fallen quiet, a soft ocean breeze drifting through the windows, the distant creak of the Sunny rocking gently on the waves.
“…You’re a good babysitter,” Sanji said suddenly, not looking at you.
You blinked.
“I mean,” he added quickly, face going pink, “for someone who doesn’t normally babysit, and, y’know, isn’t qualified.”
Zoro grunted. “She didn’t even kill anyone. That’s impressive.”
You huffed a laugh. “Thanks, guys. I think.”
They both leaned on the table, heads wobbling.
“I’m gonna stay up forever,” Sanji mumbled.
“Same,” Zoro said, eyes already closed.
“…You’re asleep.”
“No I’m not,” Zoro muttered, face-first on the table.
Right into a forgotten jam sandwich.
“…You have got to be kidding me.”
Sanji snored softly beside him, forehead resting on your arm.
You sighed—again—and stood up, gently lifting Zoro over one shoulder (carefully avoiding the jam) and tucking him into the closest futon. His cheek was sticky, and you wiped it clean with a warm cloth.
His face twitched slightly. “…Mm. Thanks…”
You smiled.
Then you picked up Sanji, who mumbled something about soufflé in his sleep, and placed him beside Zoro, both of them looking more peaceful than you’d seen them all day.
And finally, finally, it was over.
You stepped back into the now-silent kitchen, grabbed a wine bottle from the fridge, poured yourself a very big glass, and sank into the couch.
One sip. Two. Deep breath.
You looked around at the peaceful chaos.
Blankets everywhere. Tiny socks. Luffy's hat abandoned on the floor. Chopper's plushie liver left on the table like a casualty.
“Yeah,” you whispered to yourself, taking another sip.
“…I definitely need therapy after this.”
But damn if you didn’t love them more than anything.
--
You woke up early.
Groggy. Fuzzy-brained. Slightly hungover, but only in spirit.
Your back ached from carrying two pint-sized swordsmen and a certain rubber boy who slept like a boulder, and there was a peanut butter smear in your hair you didn’t want to talk about.
Still, you dragged yourself out of bed and into the galley.
It was a disaster zone.
Crusts. Crumbs. Stickers on the walls (thanks, Usopp). Someone had drawn a mustache on the fridge with ketchup. You didn’t know how Luffy had managed to get a spoon in the ceiling, but it was there.
You got to work quietly. No complaints. No grumbling.
Just you, the sunrise, and the soft hum of a broom scraping jelly off the floor.
And then—
“...(Y/N)?”
You turned, almost afraid.
There, standing in the doorway, was Sanji. Grown-up Sanji. In all his tall, flirty, freshly-shaven, cigarette-holding glory.
You dropped the sponge in your hand like it was molten lava.
“You’re big again.”
He blinked. Then looked down at himself. “...Oh. Oh.”
From the hallway, more voices joined in.
“Is this a dream?”
“My arms aren’t stubby anymore!”
“My facial hair! It’s returned!”
One by one, the rest of the Straw Hats filed in, stretching, yawning, rubbing the backs of their necks and blinking at the suddenly too-small furniture.
Luffy bounced in, now fully adult, his hat flopping over one eye.
“WHOA! I’m tall again!” he grinned, poking his own face. “I missed my stubble!”
“You didn’t have stubble, idiot,” Zoro muttered, already raiding the fridge. He paused, hand hovering over the jam jar. “...Why is there a bite mark in the jar?”
“Don’t ask,” you croaked, still in shock. “You were eleven. You had a jam sandwich battle with your face. It’s fine.”
Chopper ran in on two legs. “(Y/N)!” he wailed. “Did I do surgery on a banana???”
You gave him a thumbs up. “It survived.”
Robin was serene as ever, smiling gently. “It appears the effect wore off overnight.”
Franky cracked his knuckles. “I remember everything. I had teen angst, didn’t I?”
“You tried to start a band called ‘Supernova Sadboys,’” you confirmed.
He fist-pumped. “...Nice.”
Usopp staggered in, looking like he hadn’t slept in a year. “I had dreams, man. So many dreams. You were in them. You were yelling.”
“Probably real,” you muttered, picking jelly out of your hair.
Luffy plopped into a chair and grinned. “(Y/N), you looked after all of us the whole time, huh?”
You nodded slowly.
“And didn’t die,” Sanji added.
“Almost,” you said, deadpan. “Almost.”
Zoro snorted and passed you a clean mug of coffee. “You earned this.”
Robin took a seat beside you and tilted her head. “We do owe you.”
Brook handed you a single flower from his violin case. “You are our skeletal savior. Or, perhaps, our mama mia. Yohohoho!”
The room erupted in laughter.
“No, seriously,” Nami added with a smirk, brushing her hair out of her eyes. “You were like a whole mom yesterday. Cooking, chasing, yelling, wiping noses—”
“I didn’t wipe any noses!” you argued.
Chopper raised a hoof. “You wiped my nose.”
“Oh my god—”
Luffy leaned back and beamed. “Well, Mom, you did a great job!”
“Stop calling me Mom—!”
Zoro took a long sip of his coffee. “Too late. It’s canon now.”
Usopp leaned dramatically against the counter. “Captain Mom.”
“Mom of the Pirates.”
“(Y/N) the All-Mother.”
You groaned, dropping your head onto the table. “I survived literal child pirates just for this?”
But the truth was… you were smiling.
Because chaos or not, mess or not, wine and jelly and all, they were back. And safe.
And still absolutely the best disaster family in the world.
You took a long sip of your coffee, sighed, and muttered with a grin:
“Never. Again.”
Luffy raised his mug. “Until next time!”

hi! hope you had a wonderful holiday. i wanted to stop by and share a fic suggestion. could you write a story for zoro x f!reader? the reader is a strawhat and is the crew’s massage therapist. both zoro and reader have feelings for each other and are close friends but haven’t told each other of their feelings. zoro has a session with her and it turns nsfw. :)
Tumblr media
⛥゚・。 pleasures
synopsis: in an effort to get him to relax, you give your moss-haired boyfriend a massage, and get him riled up in the process... how else is he supposed to repay you?
cw: nsfw (pretty tame), tooth rotting fluffy fluff, lovey zoro, in-love zoro, tender zoro, sprinkle of jealous zoro.
a/n: i'm so lonely...
Tumblr media
"(y/n), I told you, I'm fi—"
"If you say I'm fine again, Zoro, I swear to God..." you dismissed, using all your strength to sit him down on your bed like an unruly child.
It was a testament to your willpower, seeing as the man was incredibly heavy, and had been dragging his feet since you yanked him from the crow's nest
"Since you don't wanna listen to me, I'm gonna have to take matters into my own hands."
"C'mon, (y/n), I gotta get back to training," he sighed, trying to stand up. "I don't have time for this."
"Your weights aren't going anywhere," you stated, sarcastically, moving over to your drawers to grab your supplies.
At that, he grumbled, looking off to the side.
"You act like it's gonna kill you to sit down for two seconds," you sighed, huffing out a small puff of frustration.
"It's gonna kill us if I'm not strong enough to defeat the next enemy we come across," he countered, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Zo, you're already, like, the strongest guy I know..."
"There's always someone stronger."
"That's not your burden to bear."
"With Luffy as our captain, it is."
"Okay, correction: that's not your burden to bear alone."
"Everyone on this ship has their own job. You do yours by helping the others relax. This is how I do mine."
Your expression fell, a slight pang of annoyance touching your chest.
He wasn't budging.
Rather than let his girlfriend give him a nice massage—an opportunity many men would jump at the chance of having—Zoro instead sat there with a pointed look on his face, you standing in front of him, lotion and massage oil in hand.
Quickly, you racked your brain, hoping to find something to get him to stay before he scurried back to his push-ups.
That is... until you found it.
With a sink of your shoulders, you let out a fake, defeated sigh, fighting off the mischievous grin threatening to rise to your lips.
"Well, if I can't force you, then I've got other patients to treat," you caved, turning toward the door. "I gotta find Sanji. He was complaining about his legs the other day."
At the mention of the cook, Zoro's chest roared to life with fury, the mental image of you caressing and doting on the blonde—or any other man, for that matter—making his eye twitch.
Before you could even take a single step forward, you were grabbed, roughly yanked back into Zoro's lap by your hips.
"You touch him. I flay him," he warned, brows furrowed and grip bruising around your waist.
"Little overkill, doncha think?" you raised a brow, amused.
"Not for me, it isn't."
"It's my job, Zo."
"And your clients are Nami, Robin, and Chopper. That's it."
"And you?" you cooed, innocently, as your finger came up to trace his collarbone, the flesh tensing under your touch as you pressed a soft, sensual kiss on his jaw.
He grumbled, a crimson flush rising up his neck and to his cheeks as he avoided eye contact.
Usually, Zoro considered himself a relatively disciplined man.
He often prided himself of his self-restraint and ability to abstain from certain pleasures for the greater good—drinking, fun, and rest being the first few on that laundry list.
You, however, did not make the cut.
The swordsman had come to terms with your presence in his life a long time ago, and came to the final—albeit embarrassing—conclusion that you were something could not do without.
The way you lit up every room you entered.
The way you naturally commanded respect.
The way you cared for him so effortlessly.
Being around you became as easy as breathing.
And who could blame him for wanting a deep breath?
"C'mon, Zo... just one little massage?" you pleaded, voice lowering to a sultry tone, one you knew made him agree to almost anything. "I promise it'll be quick... you'll be done before you know it."
Zoro couldn't help the extra beat added to his heart's rhythm at the sound of you, the swordsman internally scolding himself for being so pathetic.
'Dammit....'
He suddenly had the urge to lay down.
"Five minutes, woman," he caved with an "annoyed" groan.
"Yes!" you cheered with a giddy smile, giving him a quick peck on the cheek before crawling out his lap.
Although he tried to mask it, he couldn't help but be infected by your warmth, the feeling so potent that he had to physically bite back his own grin.
Tumblr media
"How's that feel?" you asked, shifting the heels of your palms to work a little deeper into your swordsman's shoulder, gauging his expression for any form of discomfort.
Zoro let out a small grunt, eye screwing tight at the sensation.
"Hurts," he admitted, slightly muffled by the comforter. "But good... Feels nice."
Internally, you pumped your fist in victory, covering your tracks by moving to the other side to work the next shoulder.
You sat completely upright, straddling your boyfriend's hips as he laid face first in your bed, allowing you to work his back muscles without much of a fight—surprisingly.
If you couldn't tell already, this was about thirty minutes into his five-minute session.
But you didn't mind.
You were too preoccupied with your free show.
With his back turned, you allowed yourself to gawk freely, eyes greedily taking in the thick muscle that twitched under your fingertips.
His skin was perfect, completely unmarred by scars or scratches, while your seat allowed you to turn around and catch a beautiful glimpse of his ass.
He hated whenever you smacked it—said that it made him feel like a girl—but you'd be a liar if you said the thought didn't cross your mind.
'Goddamn...'
Suddenly, as if your body had a mind of it's own, you leaned forward, placing a feather-light kiss between his shoulders.
"You're so handsome, Zo, y'know that? I don't think I tell you enough."
Flush instantly burned up his spine, his face akin to that of a tomato.
Your compliments always came out of nowhere, and when they did, he had little to no idea what to do.
"I... you..." he sputtered, instantly wanting to throw himself out a window, "...Thank you."
You smiled at his awkwardness, moving to pepper kisses all over his arms.
"So strong..." you muttered into his flesh as you made your way down. "So brave..."
In your travels, you came across a large, serrated scar, taking a moment to give it some extra attention.
"So tough..."
You went on like that over his entire backside, whispering praises into his skin like they were irrefutable facts.
Because to you... they were.
No man in the world could ever compare to your swordsman in terms of anything, as he was easily your favorite person on the planet.
Zoro would do anything for you—a truth you were very familiar with—go to any extreme, cut down any foe, lay down his life.
Of course, you would do the same, but it wasn't like you could provide him protection as reassurance, like he did with you.
So you did the next best thing.
You provided him with pure, unwavering, and unconditional affection.
Abruptly, you were bucked off his back, the sharp yelp you let out swallowed by the lips of your swordsman as he caged you to the mattress.
"You fuckin' drive me crazy, y'know that?" he smirked, his knee slotting between your legs to press against your core.
You let out a soft gasp, the movement applying delicious pressure against your clit.
"It's my job, Zo'" you repeated, breathlessly, flashing him a sly grin.
At that, the man practically pounced on you, quickly returning to your lips as his hands slid down to massage your hips, squeezing and caressing them the way he knew you liked.
"So damn sweet all the time," he muttered into your mouth, the tip of his nose gently rubbing against yours. "Gonna give me cavities if I'm not careful..."
Desperate for friction, you ground your hips down against his knee, soft sighs of praise slipping from your lips.
"Zo... can't wait," you whispered in his ear, running your hands over his shoulders. "Been waitin' so long... need you."
"I know, baby," he nodded, eyes trailing down to your shorts as his hand gripped the fabric. "Gimme a sec."
In instant, your shorts were gone, having been torn off you with terrifying ease.
And your panties were quick to follow.
"Christ, (y/n), you're soaked..." he marveled, a cocky grin rising to his lips as his middle finger gently carded through your folds. "All this f'me?"
"God, yes," you whimpered at the teasing sensation. "Zoro, please..."
"Alright, alright," he caved with a soft chuckle, shifting his weight to tug off the towel you'd wrapped around his waist while you pulled your shirt over your head, leaving your chest bare to him. "You ready?"
Fervently, you nodded, and he carefully lined himself up with your hole before sliding in, feeding you every inch at a snail's pace as a precaution since you had no time to prep.
As much as he wanted to take you right then and there, your comfort was his top priority.
His urges could wait—yet another thing added to his laundry list.
It wasn't long before he was completely in, filling you to the brim and then some.
"Tell me when you're ready, okay?" he assured, pecking a few kisses under your eyes and across your face to distract from the large stretch—and his debilitating urge to move. "Doin' so good f'me..."
After taking a moment to catch your breath, you wrapped your arms around his neck, staring up at him with a doe-eyed look that made the swordsman weak in the knees.
"M'ready," you assured, fingers toying with the hairs at the nape of his neck.
With a grin, he captured your lips, his calloused hand coming up to hold your face as he trailed kisses down your chin, starting to move.
"Fuck..." he grunted, working to keep his pace a bit more controlled than usual. "Gonna go slow this time. Wanna feel you."
"O-Okay," you gasped, eyes fluttering shut at his delectable drag against your walls.
He didn't like that one bit.
"Nuh uh," he shook his head, fingers squeezing tighter on your cheeks as his lips dragged over your jaw. "Eyes on me, baby. I wanna see you."
You whimpered, but complied nonetheless, forcing your lids open to greet the smirking, green-haired man above you.
"There she is..."
'Gods...'
You bit back the moan threatening to escape your lips, fingers tightening around his hair.
This man was going to be the death of you.
Encouraged by your expression, he picked up a little speed, keeping his thrusts purposeful and deep as he rocked you back and forth.
A mixture of grunts and pants flowed into the air as you both clung to each other for dear life, the shared air between you warm with passion and love.
Zoro groaned as you clenched around him, a sharp hiss sliding through his teeth as you threw your head back in a throaty whine, your nails digging into his shoulders before dragging along the flesh of his back.
"F-fuck, you feel so good—" his moan was caught when squirmed in place, giving him a better access. He nipped your neck, giving it a small lick and a kiss after. "Look so pretty like this."
You always adored how lovey and mindless Zoro got during sex, no matter the setting.
He always made you feel so special, so wanted, like you were the only woman in a world.
And if we're being honest, you might as well be, as the only thing running through the swordsman's mind at the moment—or at any time really—was you, you, and you.
His thrusts hit deeper with the new angle, forcing you to fight the roll of your eyes in fear of him stopping.
You were nearly there, already so close to coming undone.
"Zoro..." you exhaled, stomach fluttering as he buried his face into your cheek, pressing lazy kisses against the flesh.
"I know, baby. M'close, too," he rumbled, hand cupping your neck and pulling you closer to steal your lips once again. "We go together, yeah?"
You frantically nodded, humming with contentment as you kissed the corner of his mouth and wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him into you.
Close wasn't close enough.
You wanted him closer than that.
You wanted him so close that you felt as if you'd die if he pulled away.
"Zoro!" you cried, a single tear slipping down your cheek as you arched into him. "I... oh, fuck!... I love you!
You creamed around him, muscles and walls clenching harshly on his pulsing cock as you felt his hips stutter, emptying inside you with a feral growl.
"I love you, too!" he grunted into your forehead, pressing a tender kiss against it.
After that, he stilled for a moment, still not removing himself as he looked you over, caressing your cheek lovingly as he admired your face.
You felt as if you were glowing, and from his perspective, you were; your hair sprawled out on the pillows forming a halo around your head, looking as if he had a true angel beneath him.
His thumb brushed your lips, his chest swelling with pride at the dreamy, enamored look he'd plastered on your face.
"Good massage?" you asked, cheekily, your hand rising to cup his cheek.
Amused, he let out a light chuckle, leaning into your touch before resting his hand over your own.
"Good massage."

Zoro x reader
Hurt/comfort + gn reader
1k words, very self indulgent
Masterlist
“FUCK” you scream in annoyance tossing your weapon across the room, plomping down with your hands shielding your face as you pant from exhaustion, frustration aching at every bone
The last few week’s training had become more of a chore, scratch that, an inconvenience. Your mind seemed to be wondering elsewhere, anywhere but where your feet stand making you fail over and over again, not landing a single hit for hours on end. You had tried everything, taking it slow, harsh, even bribing yourself saying ‘If I land this hit I’ll buy me something nice’ just to end up in disappointment
Having no results at something you’ve been great at for years and years, that had gotten you the place at your captains crew was like a dagger digging into your skin, as another day passed where you couldn’t even get through the first exercise in your routine.
The sound of slow and steady footsteps met your ears making you shield yourself further, hiding your face in the corner of the room fighting the tears that threatened to flow
“You ok?” Zoros low and raspy voice calls for you, his tone monotone
You don’t even spare him a glance before you let out a heavy sigh “Clearly not”
Everyone in the ship had noticed your drastic shift in behavior. Every time you’d come down from the crows nest, your face was bright red, feet stumping as you smashed the door of your quarters shut, not talking to anyone for at least an hour
Zoro knew exactly what it was as he had witnessed your frustration while he shared the training room form time to time. You would grunt and stomp your feet like a child, telling yourself everything from words of encouragement to degrading venomous things as you tried and tried to get at least one hit.
But he never said a thing
Until you stopped coming down for dinners, sleeping in more and more often, spending your days rotting, nor a smile or a laugh leaving your mouth. That natural glow and silly sweet personality you carried slowly fading away as the days passed, and he couldn’t have that
The swordsman sat down at your side, arms crossed across his wide chest while his mind reeled. Zoro clearly was not on his element, he had searched of the right words to say, the right timing, but he quickly came to the realization that there’s no such thing, he just had to be blunt
“Stop beating yourself up” to his surprise you shake your head frantically, there goes his words of encouragement
“I am just trying to be useful for the crew, if I can’t be that might as well throw me out in the ocean” your words linger in the air, making Zoro frown and stabbing your own heart
“Is this what everything’s about?” You sit right up and stare back at him confused, he looks annoyed
“What?”
“You’re beating yourself up because you don’t feel useful?”
Zoro waches the rapid speed in which your chest rises and falls, your lungs fighting to find the air they so much need, teardrops falling in your cheeks
“I-“ you choke out, your voice betraying you but your eyes fixated on the swordsman, a quiet call for help but he waits, clinging at your every word
“I am not as strong as you Zoro, or as smart as Robin, as entertaining as Brook and Ussop, or as caring as Sanji and Chopper, as important as Franky and Nami… I always give my 200% so that I fulfill my role but sometimes, sometimes I can’t even get to 50%” your hands are quick to wash your salty tears away, embarrassed by how vulnerable you had allowed yourself to be, but if you were to keep your feelings inside any longer you were going to fall apart
“You are our crew mate”- Zoro spoke with his usual standoffish tone, yet it sounded more soft and reassuring as other times you had conversed.- “You are not some clown or some soldier, you’re here because Luffy saw something in you, he believed in you as we all do here, you don’t have to prove yourself” your head started to shake once more but Zoro was quick to shut down your insecurities, one of his hands holding your forearm giving it a light squeeze
“You’re enough” his words got stuck in your heart, warming it and finally releasing the dreadful thoughts that had been plaguing you for days
You break down crying, head falling on his sculptured chest holding onto the swordsman like your lifeline “I am so tired”- you whispered between sobs. Zoro was taken aback but didn’t tried to pull away, instead holding your frame close, hands drawing soothing circles in your back as you let go finally. And there he sat, wetting his shirt with your tears but he didn’t cared, being strong all the time could be tiring he knows this better than anyone, as well as how you had to always show up and be strong to protect yourself
But now he was here to do so
Your sobs died down as your breath aligned to the beating of his heart thrumming in your ears, you thank him, eyes glittering back at his gaze that seemed to have softened, he brushes the matter off but Zoro is more than happy to had been of service, lifting the heavy burden from your back
“Now, go rest” and for the first time in weeks, you smile
That smile he had so missed making his heart jump and skip several beats, a warm feeling spreading all over his being, and glad you’re back to yourself just as he wanted. It may sound selfish but he doesn’t care, he wants you back
“You’re far more emotionally intelligent than people give you credit for mosshead” he rolls his eyes trying to hide his swelling pride
“I am just that great” you nudge him before standing up making your way out, his eyes never leaving you as if preoccupied something would bother you again in his absence
As you slip to sleep that night, you can finally truly rest, your body letting go of the tension that had build up, worries washing away like the tides crashing against the ship, the moonlight and the sound of the ocean lulling you to have the best sleep of your life
All thanks to your swordsman

Fandom: One Piece
Pairing: Vinsmoke Sanji x Chubby! Reader
WC: 5.5k
Genre: Fluff, slight Angst
Warnings: Sexual harrasment, derogatory terms for chubby people, mentions of blood, insecurities that lead to a bit of light self derogation (Please remember you're absolutely beautiful as you are <3)
A/n: The response on Hunger is insane. Over 700 likes?! I didn't expect much beyond a few 10-20 likes, thank you for all the love 😭 This is another self indulgent fic, more personal to me because I'm chubby myself so... I'm not super proud of the pacing tbh, but it's still pretty good, in my (biased) opinion, haha. I hope you enjoy it!!! ♡

When you joined the Straw Hat crew, you didn't expect to fall in love with the blonde chef.
Actually, when you joined them, you weren't in the mindset to think about love and silly crushes. Your island had been destroyed by the Marines for a 'good cause' and despite the Straw Hats' best attempt, you were the only remaining survivor. Luffy kindly offered you a place on his crew, and you joined as an assistant to Chopper, slowly learning from him.
The first few weeks after you joined were tough for you, who had never travelled outside of your island. It took time to get used to the environmental changes along with the emotional grief of losing all your loved ones. The crew tried their best to cheer you up in their own ways, and you would forever be grateful for every one of them for at least trying, even if their methods weren't the most effective for you. It was the thought and the sentiment behind it that counted.
But what did work for you was… food. Ever since you were a child, you had loved food and it was the way you connected to life. Though you were not the greatest cook out there, you were capable of making things that were edible and quite good at times. On the ship though, you never had to cook, because Sanji would always do all the cooking. Whenever you offered to help, to take your mind off the pain you were feeling, he would kindly decline, saying that he would make you whatever you wanted.
But he couldn't. The dishes from your island were not recipes known quite to the rest of the world. Hell, even you didn't know all of them, save for some of your favourite foods that you had learnt from your mother. So you snuck in after dinner and made a dish from your hometown. It wasn't the best food you ever cooked, but it still meant something to you, because you were reminded of home.
You wrote down all the recipes you knew into a book, and kept it close. Whenever you missed your home, you would sneak into the kitchen at night and make yourself something with your wonky cooking skills that made the dish taste different every time. Still, the familiarity was enough to comfort you and let you wallow in the grief at the same time.
Until one day, you couldn't find your book.
"Nami?" You called unsurely to the navigator, who was lying on the deck under shade next to Robin. Behind them, Sanji was serving drinks. The three looked at you in question and suddenly under the scrutiny, your confidence faltered. "Um, uh.. d- did you see a journal somewhere? I can't find mine…"
"The brown one?" She asked, pushing her sunglasses up into her hair. You nodded frantically, hoping she knew. "I don't think I did. Did you check under your bed?"
"I did," you whispered, feeling the sadness wash over you again. It's not like you didn't still remember the recipes, but your memory wasn't the best. Without the book, it would be hard to remember them all.
"Don't worry, we'll find it," Nami got up and reassured you, looking concerned. "Sanji. Robin."
The two of them nodded along and then the four of you were searching for it everywhere, until Sanji had to excuse himself apologetically because he had to go cook lunch. You could only nod, trying not to get down in the dumps again over a book, but it felt a little hopeless. Until you heard Sanji shout from the kitchen. The three of you ran over to find him scolding Luffy, your journal in his hand.
"I just wanted to see what was in it!" Luffy pouted, his rubbery hands swinging around to try and get it back.
"That's an invasion of privacy, Luffy!" Sanji looked angry, but you were too relieved about the fact that you had found the book to get upset with Luffy.
"It's okay," you said, reaching forward to get the book. "It's just… recipes, Luffy. From my hometown."
There was silence in the kitchen for a few seconds and Luffy's face dropped into a serious look.
"I'm sorry," he said, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "I thought… If I knew how to help you, you'd be happier."
It made you laugh softly, your heart warm at his kind intentions.
"Thank you, Captain," you smiled at him, eyes crinkling into crescent moons. "I am happy here. I just… miss my home, sometimes."
He wrapped you into a hug and Nami ruffled your hair a little. You smiled under the attention, holding the book close. Sanji for once was quiet, just staring at the book thoughtfully, though you didn't notice it then.
A few days after that event, Sanji called you to the kitchen before lunchtime. Curiously, you followed him to find… a plate of your favourite dish from your hometown. It was plated beautifully, making it look fancy and yet it still had that homey feeling to it. Sanji didn't say a word, just held out the chair for you to sit. You sat down in a daze, too focused on the smell of it lingering in the room.
It smelled like home.
And when you tasted it, you burst into tears. Because it tasted like home. It tasted exactly like your mom's. All the tears you had held back to not worry the crew were now spilling out without any end but you didn't care. Here, where only Sanji could see you, you let it all out. He didn't say anything, just placed a gentle hand on your shoulder and squeezed to let you know he's there for you. You turned around to face him, but the tears made it all blurry. Knocking your head against his stomach, you cried harder.
Sanji just held your head, carding fingers through your hair in comfort, offering you a handkerchief. That, you realised later, was the moment your feelings for Sanji began.
After that day, you became a lot happier. Somehow, without words, just eating the food that Sanji made was enough to heal your broken heart bit by bit. Sometimes, he made extra because Luffy was curious and wanted to taste it too; and then the whole crew wanted it so Sanji made a few of your dishes for dinner. In that moment, surrounded by the smell of home, around your new family, your heart finally started healing.
You started noticing Sanji everywhere after you got used to life on the Thousand Sunny. From the small things he does, to the loud expressions of love he made, everything about him seemed wonderful and warm to you. Because you knew that beneath his overt affections for all the ladies, he was an infinitely kind, caring and observant person. How were you supposed to not fall for him, when he went above and beyond for you?
And yet, for all his admissions of love, you never believed that he could truly like you back like you felt for him. You were after all, not the prettiest girl around and you knew that. You were not slim like Nami or Robin, and it's not like you absolutely hated your soft and squishy body. But you wondered if Sanji would like you even though you weren't pretty.
All that self consciousness went out the window every time you were in his presence. He never made you feel less, or ugly– in fact, the way he spoke to you always left you a blushing mess. He made you feel special, and in the moment, it would be enough. Until you saw him fawning over Nami or Robin, and then the sneaky voice in your brain would whisper quiet thoughts comparing you to them. You had no chance with him, and you knew that.
And that was fine. You could live with that, couldn't you? You had to, because wanting more than you should never ended well. All it would leave behind is rejection, hurt and awkwardness. So you pressed down the feelings and acted as normally as you could.
The moment you realised that you loved Sanji was probably a memory you would never forget. Although it was unforgettable for you, it probably wasn't particularly that unique to others. That didn't matter to you because it was a memory you cherished ultimately.
It happened when the ship docked on a peaceful little island. Everyone else was going out to enjoy their time, and you wanted to spend that time with Sanji. So, casually, you made your request.
"Sanji?" Your timid utterance of his name got an instant reaction from the chef, who straightened up and looked at you with hearts in his eyes.
"Yes, (y/n)-chan?" He asked, tilting his head slightly.
"Um, you're gonna go grocery shopping, right?" You had seen Nami complaining while handing him the money for the shopping.
"That's right," he leaned closer, almost too close but not quite into your personal bubble. Still, the proximity was enough for you to smell the mild smell of his perfume that left you a little weak in the knees. "Did you want me to get something for you, sweetheart?"
"I just," you hesitated, suddenly scared that he might realise your feelings and get disgusted. No, Sanji wasn't like that, you had to remind yourself. He would never treat you unkindly, even if he knew your feelings. "I heard you always do it alone. I thought you might enjoy some company?"
The hearts in Sanji's eyes disappeared as he stared at you like you were speaking gibberish for a few seconds. Under the intensity of that stare, you fidgeted and waited for his response.
"You're too kind, (y/n)-chan!" He finally cried, holding up your hands in his own bigger and colder ones. You flushed at the action, stammering out an actual gibberish response this time before you were whisked away by the blonde chef to town.
It felt all too much like a date to you, when you walked next to him. Sanji somehow made grocery shopping fun, or maybe that was just because of how much you liked him that anything with him was enjoyable? It didn't matter, you decided, because whichever it was, you couldn't deny that Sanji was equivalent to the sun on a cold day.
He enthusiastically showed you around, as if you were a tourist and he were a guide (when in fact, it was the first time in this town for both of you) causing you to giggle. Whenever you stopped to buy things, he would humour your curious questions on how to pick which vegetable and what cuts of which meat are the best. It felt awfully like a domestic date, one that made you smile when you imagined doing this with Sanji years down the line every week.
"And that's the last of it!" Sanji said happily, picking up the last bag. He was holding all the bags since the start, despite your insistence and now you were anxious, seeing him hold so many bags in his hands.
"Sanji, let me hold a few," you tried again, hands reaching out to take some of them. But Sanji just turned around so you couldn't reach the bags and grinned down at you.
"Nonsense, how could I let such a delicate lady hold such heavy bags?" His words made you flush in embarrassment. You were not delicate in any sense; surely, Sanji knew that too. And in spite of all his sincerity, the word just felt like it was mocking you.
"I'm… not…," you struggled to say, not wanting to argue but unable to keep it in either. With your chubby frame, no one had ever considered you as delicate.
"Let me do this for you, my love," Sanji's voice was soft and infinitely gentle, as if he was indeed holding something fragile in his hands. "I wouldn't feel good letting you carry anything when I'm more than capable."
"But Sanji!" you lightly whined, wringing your hands. "I don't feel good letting you carry all the burden either! Come on, just a few bags?"
Before Sanji could respond, you heard a scared squeak. Your brows furrowed and you looked around the marketplace, finding a man cornering a girl a few feet behind Sanji. She seemed uncomfortable and he was all in her personal space, saying something in a rough, sleazy voice that gave you shivers.
You were not a fighter, but the instinct to protect her overtook the rational part of your brain and you crossed the distance to where they were. Pushing him back, you stood in front of the girl to block her from him.
"Can't you see she's uncomfortable?" You said coldly. "Back off."
The man took an involuntary step back until his eyes fell on you. He reeked of alcohol and smoke and you felt like puking from the putrid stench coming off him but you held it together, trying to come off as more confident than you felt. His eyes roamed over your body shamelessly, and you felt dirty and uncomfortable from the action.
"Don't get in our business, fatty," he grinned, the smell of alcohol doubling the moment he opened his mouth. "Are you jealous that no one will ever give you the attention she's getting?"
The words stabbed you in the gut, even though you knew rationally that you were better off without the bad attention. That was the one perk of being conventionally average in looks– no one really looked at you, in good ways or bad. Or maybe you had just been lucky so far. But hearing him call you that, saying those words, even from someone like him, it hurt a small part of you. Before you could respond, a leg in black slacks came up and kicked the man down with such a force that everybody around paused, shocked by the sudden action.
Even you stepped back automatically, gasping when you saw that it was Sanji, still balancing all the bags perfectly while he had roundhouse kicked the man into the ground with so much force that you could see his teeth had become bloody and he was on the verge of unconsciousness.
"(Y/n)-chan doesn't need the attention of sewer rats like you," he said calmly, straightening back into position smoothly. "Her beauty only deserves the best of the best."
The sight of Sanji saying that with a calm face, his hair slightly tousled, his hands balancing the bags and his leg muscles rippling under the slacks – that image was imprinted in your heart and brain for the rest of your life. The words sent you into a shock, but when they finally processed, you couldn't deny the overwhelming realisation that crashed into you.
You love Sanji.
It wasn't just a silly crush, or something that could go away if you gave it time. The chef had unknowingly carved himself a place into your heart. He was taking over it, chamber by chamber.
"Sanji…" The word came out as a whisper, inaudible under the din of the market as people were talking about what was going on. You snapped out of it when you felt the girl behind you shuffle and you immediately squashed your thoughts down to examine them later. You turned around and asked her, "Are you okay?"
She looked very alarmed and upset, but she still shot you a grateful smile as she murmured, "Yes, thanks to you two."
"He didn't hurt you?" You asked, hands hovering over her as you looked to ensure if she was safe. A peek of crimson caught your eye when she raised her hand to rub her face. Her elbows had scraped against the rough brick wall in his tousling. "You have some scratches!"
"Oh," she turned her arms to look at the wounds, now feeling the burn after the adrenaline and fear response was receding.
"Come on, I'll treat it for you," you offered, opening your sling bag which had some emergency first aid. You usually carried it around for the members when you were off the ship, knowing that they were all too reckless to give a second thought to any wounds.
"Oh, no, no, I couldn't trouble you more!" She said, mortified but you gently shook your head, offering her a hand.
"It's no trouble," you reassured her. It took a little bit of convincing but she eventually calmed down and let you clean up the wound before you parted. Finally, you allowed yourself to look at Sanji, who immediately schooled his features so you wouldn't see the warm adoring look he was giving you the whole time. "Sanji… Are you okay too? You didn't hurt yourself, did you?"
"Do you think I'm that weak, sweetheart?" He smiled teasingly, but you felt the need to defend yourself.
"I know you are strong," you insisted, worrying your lower lip as you tried to look him straight in the eyes but kept getting flustered. "But even strong people get wounds. Just because they are strong, doesn't mean that they don't feel the pain. So tell me honestly, Sanji. Are you hurt anywhere?'
"No," he promised. "But if you're that worried, I'll let you check me all out back on the ship."
He ended that with a wink, and this time, you couldn't hold back the flush threatening to overtake your face again. Sanji couldn't help making the mood light again, but he had no idea of the effect his words had on you.
"Stupid," you weakly pawed at his arm, walking away before he could say anything. The blonde chef just laughed and followed you, face once again soft and fond as he watched you.
Sanji may have been one of the only people onboard who was oblivious to your feelings, because a few of them did figure it out after watching the way you interacted with him. The first ones to realise were Nami and Robin, who called you out on it when the three of you were lying under the shade on the sunny deck.
"Really?" Nami had scrunched her nose, eyes critically analysing Sanji as he walked (danced, really) back to the kitchens after serving drinks to the three of you.
"Really what?" You asked, too busy sipping the cool drink to notice that she had noticed the way you had warmly thanked Sanji and given him a bright smile.
"Sanji?" Nami gave you a pointed look. The name made you freeze, and you tried to play it off.
"What about him?"
"Oh, come on!" Nami threw the slice of lemon that was on her drink. You caught it before it could fall on your shirt and muttered an indignant 'hey!' that the navigator ignored. "You like him, don't you?"
The words were enough to make you hide your face in embarrassment. Robin was smiling knowingly from the other side of Nami and you felt exposed, like they had both just turned you inside out.
"I do," you whispered after the few minutes of silent mortification that Nami had spent in self satisfaction.
"Why that loser though?" She said without any real bite. You knew she wasn't actually demeaning him; it was affectionate, in the way one would talk about their sibling's lovelife.
"Because!" You whispered, eyes running everywhere to check if no one else was around to hear you. "Have you looked at him? He's literally so pretty! He is kind, caring, and so, so thoughtful and generous. Without expecting anything in return, he is always giving and giving and he makes my stomach do silly things. He has curly eyebrows, Nami! I didn't think those could look good on anyone. Hell, I know I would look ugly with them, but he makes it work! It suits him, and he's so beautiful and I'm just–"
You collapsed onto your chair, your wet fingers from the condensation on the drink glass finding purchase in the dips of your face to hide it. Just talking about him was enough to get your heart beating fast, and the mortification of what you had just spilled to the two girls made you want the ground to swallow you already.
"You really like him," Robin's soft observation made you relax. She wasn't teasing you. You turned to look at her and caught the comforting smile she was sending your way.
"I was going to say you could do better," Nami turned to face you, swinging her feet around to your side, "but after hearing all that, I think… You two are perfect for each other. Despite all his antics, he has a good heart. And you'll be good for him, because you see him as he is."
"Yeah?" You couldn't help the small flower of hope blossoming in your chest.
"Really," Nami smiled, a rare genuine smile that was usually reserved for late night talks and reassurances in down times.
"You don't think…." You trailed off, fidgeting with the hem of your top, "he won't… find me good enough?"
"Are you crazy?" Nami snorted, picking up her drink. The melted ice had made the level go up so much that it was threatening to spill any moment. "You're better than anything he could dream of. I told you, didn't I? You would be good for him. Having someone like you in his life to ground him, I think there's nothing better than that. You're one of the sweetest people I have ever met. If anyone here isn't good enough, it's him."
"Hey now," you frowned, ready to defend Sanji but hearing his voice stopped you.
"Who isn't good enough for (y/n)-chan?" His face was stuck in a weird smile, like he was forcing it. He carefully placed the plate of pastries he had brought as he continued casually despite the silence, "I don't know who we are talking about but Nami-chan is right. No one is good enough for our lovely (y/n)-chan."
"Oh, look at that!" You hurriedly switched the topic, looking at the plate he had brought. The tiny pastries were adorable and colourful, looking so delicious that it would have made your mouth water if you weren't distracted at the moment. "This looks so good, Sanji. Seriously, if you keep feeding me like this, my weight will keep increasing!"
The last line became a teasing complaint, but you didn't expect Sanji to come to the side of your chair and lean down to where you were tilted. The proximity caused your eyes to widen, the blood thundering in your ears as he carefully tucked in a stray strand of your hair behind your ear, face so soft and warm that it make your insides feel like they were vibrating.
"All the more for me to love, so I would keep winning, wouldn't I, sweetheart?"
You choked, and the need to get away from him before you did something wild like grab him and kiss him got so much that your knee accidentally shot up and into Sanji's back, pushing him forward. The chef's eyes widened at the sudden attack, but he managed to not collapse on you by quickly holding onto the sides of the chair but now you were trapped in between his arms on top of the close proximity.
It made you so weak in the knees, and there was something hot and warm curling in your gut as you stammered gibberish, feeling like you were about to faint because Sanji's chest was practically touching yours and it was all too much.
"SORRY!" He hurriedly backed off the moment he got his bearings, and for the first time since you had come onboard, you saw him have a genuinely heavily flushed face. There was a little blood starting to leak from one of his nostrils and somehow, it helped you calm down. He was just as affected as you were. The idea was enough to lessen your embarrassment by a little.
"I'm the one who's sorry, Sanji," you said remorsefully, hiding your face completely in your hands this time. "I kicked you!"
"It wasn't on purpose," he said, right hand coming up to hide the blush on his own face. "I'm sorry for… for making you uncomfortable, (y/n)-chan!"
Uncomfortable? Did Sanji have any clue just how comfortable you actually felt? The problem wasn't that you were uncomfortable in the proximity; it was that you were too comfortable, to the point that you never wanted to leave. But that would be a dead giveaway of your feelings, right?
"Okay, this is just painful to watch now," Nami sighed, jolting the two of you. You had nearly forgotten that she and Robin were right there, and they had seen everything. She looked at you unhappily, mouth set in a tight line. "How about you two get a room and make out there?"
"Nami!" You cried out. She really just gave away your crush like that?!
"Just be grateful I'm not demanding money to make up for what I just had to witness," she sniffed haughtily, swinging her legs back onto the chair and pulling down her sunglasses. "Seriously, you two, go talk shit out. Or else, knowing you, you will just be awkward around each other and that's gonna be even more painful to watch."
She wasn't totally wrong. You were planning to avoid him, possibly by jumping off the Sunny and drowning to death since you didn't know how to swim. But that wasn't really a solution and even you could admit that.
"W- What's there to talk-?" Sanji seemed a little scared, wide eyes glancing between the three of you. Nami ignored him, and you were too flustered to look him in the eyes. Nami's suggestion was essentially for you to come clean, wasn't it? But that was easier said than done. The fear of rejection and the eventual awkwardness was gripping your insides in a chokehold, and you couldn't move your feet even if you tried.
"Sanji," Robin said calmly. "Pick up (y/n) and go to the kitchen."
"Huh?" You were startled at her words. Pick you up?! No way! "No, no way, I'm too… I'm too heavy, there's no need for that!" Even as you said that, you couldn't actually bring yourself to move.
"I don't really get it," Sanji admitted, looking between the three of you as he spoke, "but I can do that. (Y/n)-chan?"
"No, Sanji–" the protests died down the moment he bent down and picked you up like you weighed nothing. Even as he walked you across the deck, you couldn't help but think that it was kind of hot just how easily he picked you up. "Sanji…"
He didn't look at you until you were in the kitchen and the door was closed behind the two of you. He walked over to the table and then carefully placed you on it, as if you were a teacup made of fine china teetering with tea. Finally, he let his clear blue eyes stare down at you, the expression on his face more vulnerable and exposed than you had ever seen on him.
"Sanji?"
"I know I made you uncomfortable," he said quietly, backing away. His hands came up to rub away the blood but it only made it spread around and you winced at seeing that. You never wanted to see any blood on Sanji, if you could help it. "I touched your… you. It wasn't my intention, I swear! I just, I wanted, I–"
He abruptly shut up, looking frustrated with himself.
"Sanji."
He didn't look up, fists clenching at his side the moment you said his name.
"Come here, Sanji," you whispered, holding out your hands to beckon him closer. His eyes flickered over your face, as if trying to gauge out what you were feeling, even as he followed through your request without a second thought. You pulled out the handkerchief he had given you long back, and wiped away the blood over his upper lip and cheeks carefully before you picked up his hand. The thumb was bloody too, so you gently held the limb in one of your hands and wiped it with the other. "You didn't make me uncomfortable, Sanji."
He stayed quiet as you continued to wipe it until it was all gone.
"Didn't I?" He said the moment you were done.
"No," you said, looking up at him. You didn't let go of the hand, though you dropped the handkerchief beside you. Somehow, holding his hand seemed to give you the courage to make the admission Nami had told you to. "I… Sanji, I like you. A lot more than I ever thought it was possible to feel towards someone. I like you so much that it physically hurts when I see you flirting with other women. I like you so much that my heart feels warm whenever you are around, and I feel so safe in your arms that I never want to leave. I like it when you are close to me. But I know that you don't like me like that, so whenever you get so close, and I can't help but want you so much, it's painful for me. I never want to let you go."
Sanji's eyes darkened with every word you spoke, a gradual change that you didn't notice at first because you were all in over your head. His hands hovered around your waist as you finished.
"Who told you?" His voice was a little hoarse, and he cleared his throat the moment he realised how desperate he sounded.
"Told me what?" You asked timidly, looking down at your lap.
"That I don't like you?" Sanji's voice was a broken whisper like yours had been. "I have never heard anything more untrue than that. All this time, I wanted you but I kept my feelings to myself. Because you deserve so much, so much more than I am, so much more than I can give. I wanted and I wanted and I felt so greedy, wanting more and more of you, more than you would let me have– I wanted anything you were ready to give, and I also wanted everything you have to give. I thought you wouldn't want someone like me, when there are so many better options around for you–"
"What?" You couldn't help but laugh. All his words were making you delirious; this had to be some wild dream you had conjured up. It didn't feel real. None of it did. "I had better options around? Sanji, I was so sure you would never look twice at me! I never felt like I was pretty enough, or good enough to get your attention and you're telling me… I had better options? That's so–"
You kept laughing, body shaking from the weight of the laughter. Sanji stared at you, unsure hands still hovering around you. His fingers twitched from holding back the urge to pull you into him.
"You are the prettiest girl I have ever seen," he mumbled. "Not good enough to get my attention? Darling, you have had all of my attention ever since I met you. No other woman could compare to you from the moment you made your place in my heart known."
"Did I really have all your attention?" You asked, letting your insecurities bubble up. Now that you were both being honest, it was better to get it all out of the way, right? "Even when you looked at the other women…"
"I never looked at them the way I did you," his words were sincere, and in that moment, they were enough. You looked up at him, and your body broke into shivers the moment you realised the heat in his eyes as he stared down at you; like you were some unique dish he was finally getting the chance to eat after years of craving it.
"I didn't want the other options, Sanji," you whispered, the volume enough for the proximity you were in. "The only one I ever wanted was you."
You held his collars and pulled him in, and it was like he finally snapped, now that he had permission. His hands immediately grasped at your sides, gently holding the soft flesh there as he kissed you. And now it was your time to give and give, while he took from you like your lips were spilling with ambrosia and he was determined to get every drop. His warm breath fanned over your lips and the goosebumps on your skin rose again, your fingers tightening around the collars of his shirt.
When he let your lips go, he was greeted with the sight of your flushed and pleasantly buzzed expression, like you were drunk on him. Seeing you like that, because of him, it was enough to get him groaning.
"So beautiful," he whispered, leaving feather light kisses all over your face. "So gorgeous. All for me. All… for me to have?"
"Yeah," you whispered, looking up at him and seeing the devastated yet over-the-moon expression on Sanji's face. Even without words, he could always just cleave into your heart and press himself within its walls like they were made to fit him, and only him. "You can be greedy. Take all you want. I'm all yours."

Roronoa Zoro x f!strawhat!reader, one-shot, established relationship, fluff, hurt/comfort
Why did they all have to split up one day? They just got back together, now everyone is thinking of leaving again. Why couldn't Zoro just have everyone under one roof where he could keep an eye on and protect all of them?
Zoro isn't prepared to talk about your future.
----------------------
fic warnings: very small pre-time skip Sabaody spoilers, small time skip spoilers, background Franky/Robin and Usopp/Kaya (if you don't like idc), takes place at the end of fishman island
With a big, sloppy kiss to his cheek, you stumbled away from Zoro and back to Robin and Nami, drunk enough to not have any shame in front of your friends. Before you could get too far though, he playfully swatted your ass, silently thanking you for bringing him another bottle of sake to enjoy.
“Do ya have to do that in front of us?” Usopp murmured, side eyeing the resident swordsman of their crew.
Zoro popped the top of the bottle off and took a big swig. After several seconds of chugging, he finally released with an exuberant gasp, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. “Yup.”
Usopp rolled his eyes while Franky chuckled. “C’mon buddy, they're young and in love, let the man live!”
Usopp shook his head while Franky laughed and patted him on the shoulder. Zoro settled in next to Franky, passing the bottle to him as he got comfortable leaning back on the wall behind the bench the three of them were sharing.
“It’s not like we haven’t all heard you reading your letters from Kaya out loud in the workshop,” Zoro pointed out, resting his arms behind his head.
Usopp squealed. “T-Those are personal!”
“Maybe don’t be so loud then, sugar lips.”
Franky and Zoro laughed while Usopp stuttered, failing to deny the pet name Kaya used for him. Instead, he swiped the sake bottle from Franky, feeling too sober and exposed.
In front of them, the party the people of Fishman Island threw for them raged on, drinks and food flowing freely while people enjoyed the entertainment. Luffy sat with Jinbe and Shirahoshi, laughing as Jinbe recounted stories of his childhood. Robin and Nami sipped drinks and cheered you on as Prince Fuakboshi twirled you around in a respectful dance, while Chopper tried to stop Brook and Sanji from making utter fools of themselves in front of the mermaids.
The party was a great joint celebration: the people of Fishman Island had been saved, and the Strawhats were reunited after a long two years apart. Zoro couldn’t be happier, after all, he had good booze, great friends, and his beautiful partner all surrounding him. While he had grown during his two years with Mihawk, nothing could compare to the serenity of this moment.
Franky smiled to himself as he watched Robin take a bite of an exotic fruit offered to her by one of the mermaids. His eyes lingered on her smile and the way her head tilted as she studied the taste.
“Good times, huh bros?”
Usopp hummed in agreement and Zoro nodded.
“You know,” Franky took back the bottle from Usopp and took a drink, “I was thinking about stuff while we were all apart.”
“Like what?” Usopp questioned.
“Just about what we’ll do when this is all over.”
“You mean the party?”
“No, no, I mean our days at sea. Once the Sunny has sailed all the way through the New World and Luffy’s done the whole king-of-the-pirates thing, I’ve got plans.”
Zoro’s good eye slid over in Franky’s direction, curiosity piqued. “Which are?”
Franky took another big swig. Whatever it must have been, made him nervous. Outside his regular cola intake, Franky didn’t drink much.
“I’m taking Robin back to her home island.”
Usopp gasped. “Ohara? But it was destroyed when she was a child!”
Franky smiled softly, eyes gleaming as he watched you pass off Prince Fukaboshi to Robin. “I know, but I’m going to rebuild it for her. She’s talked about the library that used to be there and I can tell she misses it. Plus, she’ll need somewhere to store all her research on the poneglyphs once we find the One Piece.”
Usopp and Zoro took in the heavy weight of Franky’s pledge. It was known how much he cared for their resident archaeologist, his declarations of love for her not missed by any of the crew, nor her returned affections. Yet they were still so surprised that the promise of rebuilding her home was so resolute, like Franky knew that if Robin asked for the moon, he could deliver it. The resolve in his voice astounded his two crewmates listening in.
“I see…” Usopp replied, resting a finger on his chin in thought. “Well, I’m going back home to the East Blue to tell Kaya all about our adventures! I’ll show her the man I’ve become.”
“Yow! How super!” Franky laughed. The two innovators shared a laugh, throwing their arms around each other and smiling.
“What about you, bro?” Franky held the bottle of sake out to Zoro. “Got any plans for you and Y/N?”
For once in his life, Zoro hesitated as someone handed him a bottle of booze. In the green glass of the bottle, he could see your face from across the banquet hall. A distorted, sparkling reflection as you giggled at Nami’s drunkenness, even if you weren’t far behind her.
Got any plans for you and Y/N?
Plans? What plans? The only plan he had for the future was to find another bottle of sake when this one finished, then maybe steal a kiss from you before he turned in for the night. Who would waste time daydreaming about the future when he had the present, especially when everything was a toss up. As far as he was concerned, the only surefire event to happen in his future would be him finally defeating Mihawk in battle. Nothing else could happen until that did.
He took the bottle from Franky, eyebrows deeply furrowed. “...Nah.”
Franky and Usopp shared a questioning look. Surely the two of you had some sort of idea of what you wanted your lives to look like after your pirate days ended.
A sea of giggling erupted as you and Robin approached, the two of you sharing a secret behind your hands. As you neared, you shushed each other, making some sort of silent vow to keep the boys out of the loop.
“Oh, Usopp,” you giggled. “Brook has your slingshot.”
The sniper suddenly went stiff before hurriedly patting all his pockets. Yep, the slingshot was gone, and a distinct yohohoho could be heard across the hall.
“He’s lucky he’s already dead…” Usopp stood up quickly and ran off.
Robin and you shared another smile, before the two of you turned towards Franky and Zoro.
“Franky.”
Franky perked up. “Yes?”
One of Robin’s hands sprouted from the wall and playfully flicked Franky on the nose. “Come dance.”
Franky scrambled to his feet. “Yes ma’am!”
The two rushed back out to the hall, hands already grabbing each other as they made their way to the dance floor. When they faded from sight, you turned back to Zoro, whose good eye was already peeled and staring at you.
“What’s with the look?” he smirked.
You feigned ignorance. “What look?”
“That look. Like you’ve got some wicked plan.”
You grinned and stalked toward him, letting him pull you into his lap sideways. “I’ve got no idea what you mean.”
He scoffed and rolled his eyes yet still smiled as you settled into place. You leaned in and kissed him, Zoro returning the kiss slowly.
“Mm,” you sighed when you released, eyes sparkling up in adoration at Zoro. “I love it here.”
“Yeah?” His hand came down and rested on your thigh, holding you close.
You turned toward the vastness of the ocean to Zoro’s right. In the night, the corals and seaweed ebbed softly, basking in the moonlight. Schools of fish swam by, carefully navigating their way through. You’d only been on the island for a day, but the place had captivated you.
“Yes. I mean, the food, the people, even with the coup today, I still think this place is wonderful.” Zoro couldn’t help but notice the way your eyes widened as you spoke. “I’d love to learn more about their queen. Jinbe told me about her mission to move the island to the surface, but I can’t help but wish I could stay here. It’s just so… Beautiful in its isolation. No World Government meddling here.”
Zoro nodded along. It was a vastly different place down here, and he could respect the different way of life from that of the surface.
“I don’t know,” you sighed. “It’s just the kind of place–”
“You could imagine yourself living in?”
You blushed as Zoro took the words out of your mouth. “Well… Maybe.”
Suddenly, Zoro was frowning. It dawned on him then that the two of you had never had a discussion about your future. Did you see a future with him? Would you want him to live here on Fishman Island with you? His thoughts began spiraling.
Would he feel content? Honest to god, he never saw himself having a full time residence outside of his village back in the East Blue or on the Sunny. Could the world’s greatest swordsman be fine with spending his days 10,000 meters below the surface?
Would you even feel happy with him? If your goal was to rebuild the world government one day and turn it into an organization that actually took care of its people, surely you’d settle down in some place like Mariejois and spend your days with people like Jinbe, focusing on leading the world into a better age. You wouldn’t want to be stuck with a meathead like Zoro, tied down with domestic responsibilities when you really just wanted to help people.
Even if the two of you did choose to settle down here for the rest of your lives, where did the rest of the Strawhats fit into that equation? Would Luffy visit you? Would Zoro ever get to share a beer with Usopp again? Feel the harsh back of Nami’s hand after he said something stupid? Would he have to long for Sanji’s cooking, as much as he hated to admit it?
Why did they all have to split up one day? They just got back together, now everyone is thinking of leaving again. Why couldn’t Zoro just have everyone under one roof where he could keep an eye on and protect all of them?
“Hey, what’s wrong?”
Your hand on his cheek and soft voice snapped Zoro out of his downward spiral. “Nothin’.”
You frowned at him, lifting your eyebrows up in your characteristic bullshit face. “You sure?”
He adjusted you on his lap, holding you closer, more possessively. “Yep.”
You watched as Zoro turned away and bit his lip in worry. Zoro never bit his lip in worry. What was going through that moss head of his? “You know… We’re all alone out here with a bottle of sake,” you drawled, fingers creeping up the front of his shirt.
“Mhmm.” He still didn’t look your way.
“Luffy’s only been eating for about three hours, so we’ve still got plenty of party time left.” You left a chaste, yet yearning kiss on Zoro’s jaw. “The Sunny is empty right now… Why don’t we take the booze and head back to the ship?”
He didn’t respond.
“Okay.” You got up suddenly from his lap. “You’re acting weird. What’s wrong?”
Zoro stared at you with a deep frown on his face, his good eye filled with worry, anger, and most of all, hopelessness.
“Zo.” Much quieter, you kneeled in front of him and took his hands. “What’s wrong?”
He tensed up, staring down at you for a second before ripping his hands from yours and cradling his head. “Don’t marry Jinbe!”
You were stunned into silence. “What?”
“Listen,” Zoro began talking with his hands. “I get he’s smarter than me and a freaking diplomat, but you can’t marry him!”
You let out a dry laugh. “What are you talking about?”
Zoro stood up and turned, stomping towards the balcony overlooking the ocean.
“Zoro!” You followed after him, stopping just one step behind him, giving him his space. “Are… Are you jealous of Jinbe?”
“No!” he barked over his shoulder. “Maybe! I don’t know!”
He kept himself facing away from you, not bothering to look back as he responded. With a gentle hand, you carefully touched his back, testing the water. When he didn’t shrug you off, you slowly slid it around until your arms encircled his back.
“Why are you jealous of Jinbe? I’m not going to marry him. I just met him today.”
“I’m not jealous,” he huffed, still staring out at the sea. “I just…”
“Just..?”
He took a deep breath, gathering the courage to be vulnerable. “I just… Don’t want you to leave. Or anyone. I want us all to stay together.”
“Zo…”
“I can keep care of everyone when we’re all together. I don’t like all this separation bullshit.” You listened to him talk, giving him the space to vent all his frustrations. “We’re a crew. We’re not meant to be apart.”
You listened carefully, thinking of the implication behind his words. “You’re still thinking of Sabaody, aren’t you?”
His body stiffened, but he didn’t deny the accusation.
You let go of him and put your hands on his shoulders. “Look at me.”
He turned slowly, barely meeting your gaze in the darkness. When your hands rested on his chest, he grabbed your waist out of reflex.
“Our crew isn’t going anywhere,” you reassured him. “Not for a long time.”
He huffed. “Well everyone seems intent on leaving piracy behind one day.”
You looked to your left and through the doors of the banquet hall where all of your crewmates still entertained themselves. The dishes next to Luffy were rising, Jinbe and Chopper marveling at the sight. Nami was surrounded by several of the king’s guards, schooling them in a game of poker. Robin and Franky languidly danced together, Franky doing his best to not mess up the moves. Sanji, Brook, and Usopp gathered around a piano, joined by the star singer, and sang a song together.
“I get it. I don’t want to be apart from them either.” You turned back to him and dug a finger into his chest. “I don’t want to be apart from you.”
Zoro’s shoulders slouched, and he leaned down to rest his forehead on yours. “But you’re the toughest nail to pin down of them all,” he whispered.
You laughed. “Why me?”
He leaned back and looked down into your eyes, his grip on your waist tightening. “Are you kidding me? You’re the one with all these crazy plans and opportunities. Everywhere we go, in every country we save, the leaders want you to come be their ambassador, or want to hand you their throne. I’m starting to think I’m going to have to chain you to the mast so you don’t run off with them.”
Zoro and you shared a soft chuckle, though there was a sadness in his eyes. “I’m just starting to realize how big your plans are.”
“And you want to know if you’re part of them, don’t you?”
He didn’t respond. For once in his life, Roronoa Zoro didn’t want to hear what you had to say, too scared his worst beliefs would be confirmed.
“Yeah…”
You took his jaw in hand and turned his face toward the sea. “Do you see that out there, Zo? See how big the sea is?”
He studied the expanse in front of him. The ocean extended far beyond his eyesight, seeming as if it would never end. He nodded in understanding, though he was confused by why you chose now to bring it up.
“No matter how far that sea goes, no matter where the Sunny travels, no matter where I go, I imagine you there, standing next to me.”
He slowly turned his head back to you. “You do?”
You nodded your head resolutely, reminding him of the determination he saw in Franky’s eyes not that long ago. Would you give him the moon if he asked?
“Rain or shine, in sickness or in health. Nothing matters if I don’t have you with me.”
He studied the look on your face. Zoro was so used to seeing your soft, adoring side that he sometimes forgot what a fierce, determined tactician you could be. Whenever the Straw Hats visited countries down on their luck, you always managed to take the monarchs by their reins and show them the path forward, a job that sometimes required you to be stern. Now, you had the same look on your face as you demolished his worries.
But your fierce look of determination broke, and a small, gentle smile broke out on your face. A look you reserved exclusively for Zoro during tender moments like these. “That is, if you’ll have me.”
In one fell swoop he pulled you close and pressed his lips to yours, curling his entire body around you like he was set on keeping you this way forever. Your arms circled his neck, holding his face closer to yours as your lips moved against each other. Even when your lungs began to burn, you still kept him close, not wanting to part again.
Zoro parted first, staring down at you. “Only an idiot would pass up a chance like that.”
You leaned into the hand cupping your face, smiling at him widely. For the first time since your crew reunited in Sabaody, you could see the tension leave his body.
“Hey! Will you two get a room?” Nami yelled from the open doorway. She sat down inelegantly, roughly landing on her bottom. Behind her, Usopp and Chopper carried a love-drunk Sanji out the doors and towards the stairs.
You waved her off, then turned back to Zoro, giving him another peck on the lips. “Let’s go spend some time with our crew.” You broke from your embrace, leading him towards the growing group.
Zoro threw an arm around your shoulders and secured you to his side, smiling down at you when you glanced up at him Before you got close though, he leaned down and whispered in your ear, “in sickness or in health, huh? Guess that means we’re married now.”
You elbowed him in the ribs. “Nuh uh, you’re not getting out of proposing to me for real, Roronoa. You wanna be forever? You better put in the work then.”Zoro crumpled from the pain of your hit. “Good god, woman…”
