One of the first things that got me into reading skk stuff is the portrayal of Corruption. I really liked how it was written as some other being that lives inside Chuuya and that’s really cool.

Recently, though, I’ve been going back to the idea that Corruption is not this super evil badass being, but rather just an extension of Chuuya; so like, not this monster inside, but rather a shadow. And the disconnect between his usual ability and this final form is the gap between his perceptions and adaptions and the things that’s he’s repressed or rejected, things he had to shove aside to survive and be functional, things that lie beneath his awareness. And the nature of Corruption is a result of the way Chuuya lives, his lived experience, the disconnect between his assumed responsibilities and his true self.

So imagine a world where Corruption changes with Chuuya. Imagine the gap between For the Tainted Sorrow and Corruption growing smaller and smaller as he trains his body and mind and soul, until it becomes a continuum. Corruption would be harsh, but he would have awareness and control over it as he grasps and reconciles all aspects of himself. By himself. Without the need of temporary nullification or external intervention, because essentially it’s all about him.

I don’t really remember where I was intending to go with this (I guess that’s what differentiates eloquent people from people like myself), I’m just crazy about the journey of integration and self-development.
