🤣🤣🤣🤣My mom was rewatching 1x07 of HOTD and the infamous beach sex scene, and Rhaenyra's face at the end constantly kills me. Who the fuck has that kind of face when they're making love with the man of their dreams?! Who the fuck looks that dissociative when they're finally reunited with the love of their life the person that they burn for? Where was the fire? Where was the passion? Why does she look like she checked out?

My mom said that this was her having an expectation vs reality moment and realizing that Daemon wasn't all that, but because she's so enamored with him she's living in a state of denial because she now has the man she's always wanted. He's come back into her life and filled the hole of abandonment that he left behind. So, it'll cloud her judgment and have her stuck in the honeymoon phase.

But what killed us was how she woke up by herself in the shack looking not only unfulfilled, but also worried. She looked worried that he abandoned her again and my Mom clocked it. Rhaenyra is always gonna have that lingering doubt and worry in the back of her mind that Daemon is going to abandon her again one day. You see it in that moment and it almost comes true because after getting what he wants from her (her body) he was about to bounce back to Pentos had she not begged for his hand in marriage. It truly was pitiful watching her throw away any ounce of dignity and self-respect for a perverted man that ain't shit.

Yeah, she has this grand image of Daemon that doesn’t match up with reality. I don’t think that image was fully tarnished with that dry beach sex(🤣I laughed when I fast-forwarded and saw her looking around for him), cause even if it was lackluster, it’s obvious that she still looked up to him and idolized him.

She’s obsessed with Daemon, with being “true Targaryen’s,” with being “meant to burn together,” but after chokegate, she’s starting to see the faults with that line of thinking. This isn’t love and I think she’s waking up to that.

Lol, and this is the only time I will say I feel sorry for Miss Maegor, but she really was groomed and taken advantage of by Daemon cause she just wanted to be doted upon and be the special one and he appeared to give her.

Up until chokegate and then she realizes she was her father's “special one” all along. She taunts Daemon for it and Daemon cause he also wanted to be his brother's special one(right-hand man) and never was, snaps.

Their whole relationship is built on what they haven’t gotten from Viserys and when they realize who they were to him everything falls apart.

Book Dumbnyra isn’t any better because at the end of the day, I don’t think he wanted Viserys in the way show!Daemon does, but he still isn’t in love with Missy Anne. He still wants to be closer to the crown(the Targaryen ideal, his brother, power, etc).

He’s self-serving and ultimately Valyrian Karen is one such means to achieve his goals. This is why when it’s all said and done he is able to switch sides so easily and why when he ultimately does find someone he loves he abandons this girl he molded for his own goals to save the woman he loved.

It's interesting(I mean it can be), but it's not love. It's never been about love.

The "chokegate" thing sounds to me like a cult. An actual cult, not a super weird "friend" group. I'm not an Official Cult Expert or anything, but I have been fascinated with them my whole life (middle-aged here), and the total disregard for all boundaries is a huge red flag.

It will forever irk me how some people blame Laena for Daemon’s “unhappiness” in Pentos. Let’s be for real here, it was COMPLETELY his fault why they were still in Pentos. I doubt Laena would have denied Daemon the idea of returning to Westeros; she was the one who wanted to go back to driftmark in the first place. Any unhappiness Daemon had was his own fault and no one but him can be blamed (maybe viserys too but that’s another thing). Everyone who is like “poor baby, he was just longing for Rhaenyra…” blah, blah, blah - just makes me sooo heated!! Laena was right there, they need to stop acting as if she was just this means to an end. I know she’s a fictional character but it still angers me to see how minimalized she is by the fandom (especially when they race-bent her and changed the important relationships in her life - that’s one of the reasons why I say that the book is the only canon canon universe, not the show). The racism this fandom has is so crystal clear, but then everyone is all “stop making it about race”, like that’s exactly what you are doing 😭 why can’t I be upset about it?? I doubt anyone would act the way they do if Laena was white and it hurts to even admit that!

No one should sympathize with daemon in ep6, he was being a shitty person and incredibly selfish, in my opinion. (I know you love him and I’m sorry to bash him, but I know you also see his faults unlike a lot of other Daemon stans, so I hope you can understand me on this). Laena was more patient and forgiving than she should have been, I would’ve liked her to call him out instead of whatever bullshit the writers decided on. And even though they took away her fire in the show and made her into some poor helpless unloved woman(aka a stereotype), she still made an impact because if she was truly a bump in the road they would’ve stopped talking about her as soon as she offed herself.

I think daemyras' worst headcanon/disillusionment about Daemon is that he loves Rhaenyra's bastards as if they were his own (I get chills when I see them putting Daemon as their big daddy) whilebin the show what is shown he is indifferent to them at the very least and at most he feels irritated that Weak boy #1 wants to boss him around, what makes it worse is that they saw him being an absent father to the twins, but suddenly, he's an excellent stepfather to the bastards just because they are the children of his "soulmate" and he loves everything connected to her 🥴I always had the impression that Daemon wanted a boy so much since he was still married to Laena because he knew that Weak boys were bastards and that that would be enough to take her away of the succession and he needed a male heir to be able to challenge his nephews with the power of House velaryon behind him after all, it is not said that House Velaryon could challenge both the Green and Blacks when did Daemon marry Laena? I'm not saying that he didn't love her and wasn't happy with her, because I believe that he really liked her and her free spirit, but that the marriage did have political reasons behind it and there is nothing wrong with that, by the great council of 101 daemon had a claim too, which was certainly more legitimate than rhaenyra's after she committed high treason

Moving on, I do believe Daemon found Laena to be very alluring I think it's pretty obvious he loved her, but yeah their marriage was politically motivated.

He probably was very likely to stake his own claim to the throne(although that would've involved usurping Aegon, but I don't think he'd have a problem with that). There's no way Daemon doesn't at least try to ensure his own flesh and blood wears the crown.

The Daemyra beach sex scene is one of the worst sex scenes I've seen. It's so stiff and frigid and it looks like they're afraid of touching each other. There's no melting, no revealing in each other, no basking in the ambiance, no true passion in it. First of all: you can go online (Twitter and Tumblr specifically) and see how many of them constantly bitch and moan about how they were robbed of 20000000 Daemyra sex scenes 🤢, and how they hope next season they get more sex scenes and how they wanna see Daemyra have angry sex and sex on the painted table. They're the ones who want them to have a sex scene equivalent to the sex scenes from 365 days. They're the ones who sexualize Daemon choking Rhaenyra calling it a kink, but we're the ones whose brains have been rotted from porn. Second of all: all we asked for (which we didn't) was a decent sex scene. A sex scene that they claimed was "passionate, sensual, and loving" when it wasn't. That sex scene was purely transactional and Rhaenyra trying to secure the political bag. You know who had a passionate, sensual, love scene Stefan and Elena from TVD. That scene is everything the Daemyra idiots think the beach scene was when it wasn't. Then she goes on to tell him her whole 10 yr life story when he doesn't do the same in return, and spills her secrets to him (poorly hidden secrets that everyone knows about) when again he doesn't return the favor. Yep, they were the first ones crying about the show doing Dumbnyra and that dry a** “love scene” wrong(just like with chokegate).

Then they realized that by saying that it was dry they couldn't say that the show portrayed Dumbnyra as an epic romance so they started backpedaling and saying that the scene showed how much “mature chemistry” they had together and that there was some ten-minute cut of the scene that HBO is going to release… at some point…..

Not to mention they lied about how there was some scene of them doing it on a table that got cut(which I see they've now moved onto saying it will be in season 2 🤣).

Or how they are hoping Alys uses some potion to make herself appear like Rhaenyra and then proceed to rape Daemon so that they can get a sex scene in season two(the fact that they try to accuse others of being demented sex-crazed perverts is straight-up hilarious when they peddle this cow dung).

It is really funny to see the mental gymnastics these people will do to claim that show!Dumbnyra is the ship to end all ships and that beach sex was the culmination of their love while at the same time claiming that this show isn’t canon(the same way they try to say that Rhaenyra died a dragonriders death when that doesn’t even exist in the book. That's 100% Sara Hess’s sh*tty writing to make Rhaenyra’s death look less pathetic). Which they by and large didn’t claim until the finale then they finally realized this wasn’t the Dumbnyra show.

This show has made it clear from at least episode four(it’s actually been clear since the premiere but they don’t consider a underage girl having her uncle make passes at her to be grooming) that Dumbnyra wasn’t an epic romance, but they ignored this because incest is hot or whatever.

It’s actually cause they were the only two youngish white people in a relationship, but I’m not getting into that today since they always start crying when you point that out too. Dumbnyra wouldn’t be this popular if they had more competition. I’m really hoping they get overtaken by at least the Alysmond fandom because they truly are an insufferable bunch of delusional weirdos.

Show!Laenyra does not exist. I wished the morons who are trying to make fetch happen would stop using Show!Laena in their fanart because show!Miss Maegor viewed Laena as competition(see Missy Anne glaring at her at her wedding).

It’s disrespectful as hell to put show!Laena with the woman who shamelessly threw herself at her husband at her funeral(karma hit her fast though, see chokegate). This ship is worse than Rancid. At least that’s show canon.

If they had actually been in the former Daemon would’ve gotten Missy Maegors dumbass pregnant and Joffrey would not exist(anyone who doesn’t think so is a dumb fuck who needs to brush up on their reading comprehension).

I’ve said it once, but I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face. No one actually cares about this stupid ship. Notice how the only people who ship it are Rhaenyra/Dumbnyra stans.

*I should add that there are people who genuinely support Laenyra and aren’t trying to use the ship to insert Miss Maegor into Laena and Daemons marriage or only view Laena as a prop, but they are few and far between.

Even if daemyra is "finished" in episode 1 they'll reunite in episode 8 and I suspect the show will pander to daemyra stans and will make them into a "power couple" taking the city together after they'll reconcile in Harrenhal. Daemon did everything for his queen, see, they love each other! After all the marketing of the show pushes daemyra quite hard, they're their moneymakers, the most popular characters of the show.

While their being at Harrenhal together(which I suspect is where they'll launch the taking of Kings Landing) is new their taking Kings Landing together happens in the books.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Dumbnyra(which was built on a house of cards, to begin with) won’t collapse overnight, but it is falling 🤷🏽‍♀️

And while Dumbnyra stans are loud they aren’t the only ones watching this show. If they curate this show around their wants and their wants only this show will not last. Everyone else is going to get sick and tired of the rewrite (cause at that point it won’t even be the Dance anymore). This ain’t nor will it ever be the Dumbnyra show.

(Which so far they have not because if they did chokegate wouldn’t have happened, and neither her being abandoned at her wedding, in a brothel, and after their bad sex.
