What was "The Mission" from Charles?
SPOILER ALERT
Just in case you don't remember what sort of mission Charles gave Daniel when they were talking in Ep 512:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was the mission in Ep 177:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Basically Charles would reveal the secret of the Second Body since he considered that the current Daniel had somehow surpassed DG (of back then?). Daniel had also used the Body as it was designed (to fight, and fight A LOT).
How sad that back then I naïvely interpreted this as Charles' wish to elevate Daniel's hitherto unknown potentials when it was actually his egotistical method to trap the boy in intergenerational battles and crew wars. Almost like Charles wanted Daniel to become the pinnacle of the criminal underworld.

Lookism Cinematic Analysis (6)
tw: suicide
This panel is loosely based on one of the posters of a critically acclaimed Korean film, "Socialphobia" (2014).
Tumblr media
"Socialphobia" is a story about the mysterious death of a social media user who was some sort of a keyboard warrior, and the subsequent social media frenzy that it caused.
In the film, the social media user was objectified after her death. For the other young characters, the allure of the mystery surrounding her death was more important than her humanity. At the end of the film, it's never clear whether she was murdered or it was a suicide, and nobody cared about it.
In Lookism's case, the moment Charles took his own life, all the exposé about his crimes became secondary compared to his dead body. Who he was before HNH, his personal life, etc etc at that moment disappeared. He was but the grotesque body.
Notice how in both the panel and the poster, different angles were taken by the press and the civilians when photographing the dead. This also works as a symbolism: people only knew about the dead girl and Charles the way whoever took photos of them chose to. They were both presented differently, framed differently, depending on the angle.
In a world where reality is fabricated, what is real never matters.

critical thinking and theorizing on why he acts like this ASIDE-
Charles is so funny to think about, the (years upon years of) consequences of his actions are catching up to him, and he justs, sends Gun to wipe them all out. Go, my miracle 20 y/o guy (who I probably manipulated too) make these kids DISAPPEAR from my sight.
He's had it with these minors!!! The Consequences are Coming.

another lookism thoughts is that many people assume gun is loyal to charles bc gun is a yakuza. yakuza were known to be loyal. this is a very debatable opinion, but i think gun stayed and working for charles is bc charles provide smth that he can't for himself. ig in the earlier time gun works for charles, they make some sort of deal that gun can have this certain thing that he wants as long as he works for charles.
but actually my thoughts had its ground. theres an episode (older episode ig) where gun talks to daniel, "as long as I don't break the rules, I will get anything I wanted." (srry for the mistranslations, I read it in my native lang).
but this could also refer to gun's history as a yamazaki. rather than his history in his clan, I believe that this convo is referring to his relationship with charles choi. this convo also happened when gun was fighting with daniel when daniel tried to take charles' photo in an old school, while gun is trying to convince daniel to make a crew (and possibly, to be his successor).
sorry i was just tryna take a nap and suddenly thinks ab this HAHAHAHAHAH

It was a smart move by Charles because
The Juvenile Laws in Korea are different from their Criminal and Civic Laws (more lenient), so unless the children and minors do something totally barbaric, it will be next to nothing. Even Jiho was sentenced as a minor and was supposed to be held in a juvenile prison for a maximum of 4 years.
The kids aren't drafted for the military service yet so they can work for Charles for a very longgggg time.
The high number of runaways and dropouts he could enslave hire for the business expansion really.
I've been catching up on lookism lately and this is my controversial take everyone!!

Highlights of Ep 486
SPOILER ALERT
"I can't breathe. I can't breathe! Take me out of this darkness that has lost its light. I can't stop it anymore. It's swallowing me up. Save me from myself..." - SONDIA, Nightmare
Tumblr media
Some time during the night, Vin let the girl in but his mind kept him awake, thinking that the shaman must've sent the girl to kill him.
In anger, Vin was thinking of kicking the girl out but was stopped by the sight of her tears in her sleep.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next day, Vin met the Cheonliang fam and apologized, but they teased him saying they wanted the old (rude) him back. Vin was embarassed but he insisted that he really meant to apologize to them (and that he was thankful). And that from then on, he was a Cheonliang Fam member, and called Seongji "Master".
Tumblr media
Seongji called Vin to help him with kimchi, which Vin thought as maybe Seongji's way to trick him. Jewoo explained that they were running out of side dishes, while casually asking about the girl who was hiding behind Vin.
Tumblr media
The girl then helped Seongji with the kimchi, and Vin then told the Cheonliang Fam kids that she was a servant of the Cheon household. She specially served Taejin, and had since ran away.
Taejin seemed to have vented his frustration of losing Vin and Seongji on the Yakuza and the servants. So the girl ran away out of fear of being killed.
Jewoo realized that this means Taejin must've been even more furious and would want to find both Vin and the girl.
The girl announced that she was a perfect servant: good at cooking, doing laundry, and doing dishes, which made Taebong and the others felt both pitiful and uncomfortable about her presence there.
Tumblr media
Jewoo asked whether they would send her back, and Vin retorted that she would die since Taejin would never save her life, as his errant property.
Then Mary chimed in that they should take the girl in, and the girl thanked her (mistakenly called her "bro" and got hit in the head). Jewoo teased Mary whether she made this decision because of her rice diet plan and she kicked him mercilessly.
Seongji decided that the girl must stay at Vin's place (to his shock) since it was Vin who took her in the first place, then he got inside his house and left the kids behind.
Seongji also told Vin that he'd better take responsibility for her, and Vin was struggling with it but eventually said yes, on condition that Seongji taught him how to fight.
Vin told Seongji that he had no power to protect anyone yet, so with the new strength he'd be able to protect someone. Seongji told Vin that it wouldn't be just ssireum that he taught, but the classes would be so hard and vomit-inducing, the way he himself learned it, but Vin was happy anyway.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seongji then proceeded to lock his door, and inside, he was gasping for air in what seems like a panic attack. In a daze, the young king took some pills to ease the attack.
Jewoo, perceptive as ever, realized that something was wrong and went knocking on his Master's door. Seongji deflected Jewoo's concern and told him to go and not to come in. In sad understanding, Jewoo complied.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Charles was confident that the Shinmyeong would relinquish Cheonliang land ownership to him to deflect treason accusation. But the shaman showed the Red Paper that he obtained from Seongji: the evidence of Charles' treason, allegedly worse than Shinmyeong's. Shinmyeong called up the Kojima brothers and the other Yakuza lackeys just as Charles moved to attack him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Charles still had another ace up his sleeve: Enter young Gun, with a taunting smile on his face, to the foray.

This is a very nice top 10 Solo Leveling characters list. I really like it :>
I like most of these characters too though I personally hold some values higher than others, so my top 10 is different, but I still like your take on it
Might make my own later
My top 10 Solo Leveling characters + explenation.
I know some of you may not agree (especially no. 10), but please don't hate me. I just like them a lot. This is my opinion. Feel free to tell me if I made a mistake or if I spelled something wrong! And feel free to tell me what your top 10 is, too!
Baek Yoon-Ho
Tumblr media
I'll be honest, I love Yoonho. He's such a cool character. I love cats/tigers/panthers, all of them. I love the way he acts like an aggressive cat, the way he has cat traits and I love how he can transform into an awesome white tiger-like beast.
2. Lim Tae-Gyu
Tumblr media
His personality just screams out sleepdeprived and cocky, but he is not. I love his cocky smile, even though he isn't. When I read the fact that his occupation before his awakening was tennis I came to love him even more. And you got his uniform design. It's awesome!
3. Kenzo Tanaka
Tumblr media
I know he doesn't have a lot of screen time, but I love him. He really strikes me as one of those tough guys that are actually soft on the inside. And I love how he is so calm, unlike most other tough guys. He just strikes me as a really nice and caring guy.
4. Lennart Niermann
Tumblr media
Lennart is awesome. His personality is awesome, his powers are awesome. I love him. He's such a soft and calm person. Every time he was on screen he made me calm. His powers, though. They make me wild! They're so cool! I mean, just look at that picture! Not to msntion the way he protected Thomas. He knew he wouldn't be a match against someone even stronger than Thomas, and yet he helped Thomas.
5. Min Byung-Gu
Tumblr media
He strikes me as one of those softies everyone would love. He's just so nice towards others and he has such a welcoming smile! I love his warm smile! And his design is nice, too. They gave him a nice color palette. The way he uses a book to use his powers also has me going wild. It's just so cool! It makes me think of one of those overpowered wizards!
6. Thomas Andre
Tumblr media
Thomas Andre just screams out brute power! He's such a rough and tough guy. I like how he just smashes eveything and how rough he is with his opponents. Whenever he walks next to someone he looks like a giant. That's really funny. And the way he transforms into an overpowered knight-like looking person is just amazing!
7. Lui Zhigang
Tumblr media
His mysterious and dark aura makes him really appealing. He doesn't have a lot of screen time, but he is such a cool person. He's so powerful, and yet we haven't seen him fight once. But the way he has awesome panels in the manwha makes up for it. His panels are always either dark and mysterious or beautiful.
8. Woo Jin-Chul
Tumblr media
Woo is in my top 10 because he has such a calm and mannered personality, even though his stress level is at 100% everytime we see him. He always manages to find a solution to a problem. When he stopped Baek and Hwang from a fight, we saw his true power. Even though the two were S-ranks, he stopped them. Yes, his arm throbbed in pain, but he still stopped them, which means he's storng.
9. Choi Jong-In
Tumblr media
Choi is a sly, but calm person. I love how he's with Baek 90% of the time. They're always bickering together and throwing a tantrum. Yet he still manages to do his job properly and clear most raids easily. I love his design a lot and his attacks are awesome, too.
10. Hwang Dong-Soo
Tumblr media
HEAR ME OUT! Hear me out! Dongsoo may not be the nicest person, but the way he's shown in a dark and mysterious way has drawn me to him. He also strikes me as one of those complete douchebags with a slightly soft side. He came over to Korea, all because someone killed his brother. Now their band wasn't too good, but he still cherished his brother from the inside. Even if it's just in the slightest. That means he has a soft side and I love him for that.

言わざる // speak no evil
pairing: byelingual!park jonggun x waiter!reader
summary: yamazaki yuzuru, also known as park jonggun, is trying his damned best to learn korean for csat. despite his best efforts, his favourite bartender doesn’t seem too impressed. in other words: park jonggun hwaiting~
tags: crack, pre-canon, gun is korean by birth but raised in japan but jailed in korea so he doesn’t even know how he identifies himself anymore, canon compliant, gun might be ooc bc he’s not fighting this is calm gun
Tumblr media
gun’s first thought upon seeing you is - damn, you’re gorgeous.
he’s been to this izakaya several times before, but he has never seen you behind the counter. maybe it’s your first day. maybe you’ve been here for a while, working the wednesday night shift, and he has just never been here on a wednesday. it’s a school night, after all. he has his csat to study for, even though he thinks he’ll fail. his korean isn’t quite up to par. he’s spent too long in juvie, and even longer in japan.
gun isn’t the only japanese person here. well, technically gun is korean, but he’s been yamazaki yuzuru, shiroi oni for so long it feels like he’s japanese instead. when he’d fought that straw-haired asshole, kim joongoo, the dumbhead had downright refused to believe gun was korean by birth. no way, he’d said with a mocking grin, hand over his jaw where gun had almost knocked his entire bottom row of teeth out, your accent’s fucking atrocious.
gun would’ve gone for round two of a fight if goo hadn’t smashed a staff into his face and almost broken his skull as well as his nose.
anyway, back to the izakaya. where gun speaks japanese, because it’s so much easier than korean to him.
gun’s been here often enough to start to recognize the regulars - hattori-san with his raspy kansai-ben, who always orders cheap beer to go with his equally cheap cigarettes and starts flirting with the whoever’s pouring his beer whenever he gets too drunk; miyamura-san, who had been sent on a year-long business trip from tokyo to seoul and drinks sake to cover up how dearly she misses her family; and there’s park jong gun himself, who always orders the same gyoza dish because it’s damn tasty, alright.
today, it’s a different person behind the counter. it’s you, who speaks kindly to miyamura-san when she weeps about homesickness. it’s you, who doesn’t hesitate to call a drunk hattori-san a cab and manhandle him out of the shop yourself when the taxi arrives. you’re around gun’s age, japanese by birth, but both your japanese and your korean, which you showcase when a korean couple wander in in search of ramen, are both better than gun’s. you don’t seem too wary about gun, either. you’re always bringing him his signature gyoza with a sweet smile, offering him helpful tips on learning korean when he brings his notebook in to study for tests. gun-chan, you tease him sometimes, study at home, not here. he doesn’t answer, too busy wondering why you don’t fear him in the slightest.
because you should.
gun is the most dangerous person in this small izakaya. you’re strong enough to manhandle hattori-san, who is drunk and balding and somewhere in his late fifties, but your wrists are thin, your legs long and slim. you’ve got that doe-eyed innocence to you too, like a newborn fawn. you’d be able to please him with your body if you didn’t break under his rough hands first.
or maybe that could be the foreplay. you’d look good, struggling not to let gun break you, fighting back with all you’ve got.
gun has no alcohol with him, but his cheeks feel a little too flushed for his own comfort. he finishes his gyoza in silence, pays you a hefty tip and refuses to take the change, and then leaves.
he’ll keep you a secret, for now. choi dongsoo doesn’t have to know about you. and neither does gun's asshole of a housemate, kim joongoo.
he comes to the izakaya once every two weeks almost religiously just to see your pretty face. every time, you greet him with a smile. at some point, it becomes a running gag between the two of you. tadaima, he’ll say as he steps in, all evidence of his, ah, after-school job carefully hidden away. okaeri, you’ll say in response, your usual gyoza? and gun will say yes, because this place, this banter, is starting to feel like home to him. nothing has ever felt like home to him. it’s hard to find peace when gun lives the life of a hired gangster.
of course, of course, peace never lasts.
because one day, after school, kim ‘fucking dumbhead who can't read social cues’ joongoo insists on following gun to the izakaya. “i’m hungry,” he complains, “it’s your cooking day today, and since you won’t cook, i’ll just get dinner with you.”
he really doesn’t want to let joongoo meet you, but joongoo's a tenacious bastard who refuses to let go even when gun is trying to choke him out in the middle of the street, so gun ends up with no choice but to bring him to meet you.
he's still squabbling with joongoo by the time he steps into the izakaya. "okaeri, gun-cha-" your eyes widen. "ara ara, gun-chan, you brought a friend?"
"yes," joongoo says at the same moment gun says "we are not friends."
you giggle, eyes bright. "okay, gun-chan and gun-chan's not friend."
"gun-chan," joongoo mouths in awe. his knowledge of japanese is limited to anime and "omae wa mou shindeiru".
gun gives him a noogie because he's too polite to get blood all over your meticulously cleaned counter. "usual gyoza for me," gun mutters to you in japanese because he knows joongoo won't understand, "and the least popular item on the menu for him."
you laugh. "hai, hai!"
you end up placing two dishes of the same gyoza in front of gun and joongoo. gun blinks. "you're kidding, right?"
"gun-chan, you're literally the only one who orders this."
joongoo digs into his gyoza with a hearty "itadakimasu!" and you laugh when he gets sauce on his stupid glasses. gun feels overwhelming jealousy gnawing at his insides. you're his. you shouldn't be laughing at joongoo unless you're mocking him.
"just between you and me," you whisper to gun over the counter, "your friend reminds me of some of the tourists i used to get at the famiresu i used to work at in japan. they'd try to speak in japanese, but their accent wouldn't be right. it's sweet to see them try."
it's all too easy to imagine you in a cute apron and matching hat, cheerfully shouting "irraishaimase!" at new customers. it's too easy, like it's a memory instead of a fantasy. "which one did you work at? denny's?" back when he was fourteen and living the overpowered tween gangster life, he’d almost gotten attached to a denny’s worker who had actually tried to help him with his schoolwork and learning korean in particular. they were sweet but authoritative. they knew how to order him around and get him to do things, and that might have been the beginning of gun’s masochistic streak, actually. gun hadn’t seen them since he got arrested and sent to juvie in korea, but now that he thinks of it, they might have looked a little like you.
maybe he’s just projecting.
“yeah! i did work at denny's, actually.” it’s only thanks to gun’s years of experience as a trained thug that he doesn’t let his surprise show. did you read his mind? “why ask?”
“i was just curious. i grew up in japan.”
“yeah, i guessed. your japanese is excellent, but your korean… you make the same mistakes as one of my old regulars, but he was fourteen and you’re what, nineteen? you mix up the i, geu, jeo words too, just less often than he did.” you hum, a distant smile on your face. “it was easy for me to remember. it’s almost the same as koko, soko, asoko, isn’t it?”
gun nods. yeah, that was how the waiter from back then taught him to memorize i, geu and jeo too. gun just messes it up nowadays when he tries to think in korean instead of japanese. you flit off to help another patron and strike up a conversation with them instead. gun had almost forgotten that he couldn’t monopolise your attention that easily.
joongoo nudges him with the most demonic smile of all time settled on his face. there’s a veggie stuck between his teeth, and oh, what wouldn’t gun do to punch it out of the way? punch joongoo so hard he chokes on his own shattered teeth? “someone’s got a crush~” he sings loudly. nobody hears him over the din of the izakaya. “i’m gonna tell the b-”
gun tips his chin up and forcefully shuts joongoo’s mouth. joongoo whimpers as he bites his tongue, but gun holds his mouth shut. “don’t you fucking dare.”
it’s not even a crush. it’s just a passing fancy. you just remind him of someone he used to know.
“we’re leaving,” gun hisses. he’s going to beat joongoo’s ass into next week. “yo, jagiya-”
joongoo chokes on a laugh, but gun can’t think of why. over here… isn’t it jagiya?
“it’s jeogiyo,” you say with a shit-eating grin. it’s cute on you, unlike on joongoo. “but if you want to call me jagiya i won’t mind either, gun-chan.”
gun remembers making that mistake, years ago. he’d mixed them up again - jeogiyo is ‘come here’, jagiya is ‘sweetheart’. joongoo laughs harder at gun’s slowly reddening cheeks. oh, he wants you so bad. he’d hurt you so good, make you cry as he calls you jagiya and carve his mark into your body the only way he knows how.
“or should i call you yucchan? yamazaki yuzuru-chan?” you lean in close, something dangerous on your face. good for you, gun is a dangerous man. “the white oni?”
gun freezes. “how-” no matter how he thinks of it, he can’t think of how you would know about shiroi oni. could it be the other patrons warning you against him? could someone have told you?
“you’ve always called me y/n-san, and i appreciate it. but do you know why i came to korea to study?”
gun shakes his head. you’ve always been y/n-san to him.
“my name is magami y/n. you killed my father. you hurt my little brother ken-chan.” gun remembers now - he remembers young magami kenta who idolised him, until he killed the patriarch of the magami clan. maybe you were sent away to the city to study, and that’s why you weren’t there. “did you really think i’d let you get away?”
gun stops you from threatening him the only way he can think of - he yanks you closer by the collar of your shirt and when you stumble, he’s there, waiting to swallow all of your protests with his lips. oh, he’ll break you.
he’ll break you until all you know is how to scream his name and beg him for mercy.
oh, you’d look so gorgeous.

OMG I LOVED YOUR GUN X READER FICCC!! MAY I REQUEST A PART 2?
Ofc! I made this part for all my readers^^ I hope you guys like it. Part one is here.
His Name [2]
It was been a week after you met him after school, he still not showed himself in the school, your school life still normal tough without him. But your head still thought about him; like "Where is he?" or "Yamazaki still alive, right?" and many questions in your head.
You walked to your school in this rainy day, it was cold, very cold. And that was why you were holding a white umbrella with your right hand. You hummed a song while you listened to your favorite song, your eyes seems very happy in this rainy day.
You stopped at your track, your eyes were widening in surprised; you saw him. Your classmate.
"Yamazaki-kun!" you waved at him, as you waved he turned at you. He wore a black sunglasses, and he didn't wore a school uniform.
You walked toward him, "Why are you---"
"I'll never see you again for now, and you'll never see 'Yamazaki Yuzuru' again." he said, he cuts your unfinished speech. "Go to school, and be a good student there," he turned around and walked away, and you just stood and watched him leave.
■□■□■□■□■□■
You sighed, felt the fresh air of South Korea inside your lungs. You took your smartphone for took a picture of the aesthetic alleyway you just found, but your eyes saw someone that you couldn't recognized and you just turned back and ran toward your car outside the alley.
'God, who the hell is that?!' you tried to calm yourself while drive to your boss' apartement, and turned on the music so that your mind is distracted from the figure in the alley earlier.
But, the next second you felt your smartphone rang and you picked the call. "Hello? What's up, boss?" you talked to your boss---who was your friend in the junior high school---with unformal tone and she didn't mind it after all.
"Are you want to back to the Japan with me, [Name]-chan?" She asked, the woman with style gothic lolita waited your answer. "Hurry up, or I'll go to Japan without you," she hissed.
You nodded, "Yeah, I'll go with you. In ten minutes I'll reach your place, Shimamura."
■□■□■□■□■□■
"Hey, Shimamura." you heard her hummed, "You think that I'm still ... y'know what I'm talking about."
Shimamura Rei, she just nodded. "Yeah, my men told me that he always visited the temple, so just hope that he's there when we at there, too." she spoke after she took a sip of her drink. "Looks like someone really fall for that Yamazaki," she chuckled.
"Yak! I'm just curious, after all he's suddenly no news after all this time. What's wrong with that?" you scoffed.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever, well after all, I can go to Japan with you," she took her bottle of alcohol. "By the way, actually you can meet him in the HNH Group, I've seen him with Choi Dongsoo's daughter." she babbled a little drunk.
You widened your eyes, "What?! Why are you didn't telling me earlier?! If you're tell me this, I'll visit that HNH Group, Shimamura Rei!" you gritted, your hand wanted to punch her face but you knew it wasn't avail, and you're also already on her private plane. You lowered your hand, and placed it on your thigh.
You mumbled something under your breath. She just chuckled at your respond.
"Aww, little cat just angwy right now?" she let out a laughed, she laughed like a kid. You just rolled your eyes.
■□■□■□■□■□■
It was raining, you were at the temple. You were in Japan.
You stood there and prayed to God that you still gave a long live and your life was blessed by God, and your friend, stood beside you and prayed to God.
You don't know what she said in her heart, surely the woman was asking God in her prayers.
But, suddenly someone called out Rei, "Miss Rei, I think we must go to the hotel right now, because ... uhh," the guard was biting his lower his lip, and Rei raised an eyebrow.
"What? I told you to don't disturb us while we were praying." She crossed her arms, "you want us to go back at hotel because of the rain?" she asked in stern tone, she frowned.
You turned back as you finished your praying.
And here, you widened your eyes in disbelief.
You saw him, Yamazaki Yuzuru, or known as Park Jonggun. You knew this information from Rei when you were in her private plane. Jonggun was standing there while held a black umbrella in his left hand.
Tumblr media
Rei smiled at him, "Ara~ Yamazaki-san." her tone was friendly like usually, but Jonggun just gave her a cold stared behind his sunglasses.
His gaze shifted at you, then he walked but kept his gaze at you.
Until he stopped on the front steps of the temple. "[Name]," he called you, and your heart was beating faster than usually. "Come with me."
Silence.
You just stood, and processed what did he just said. Come with him? What the hell he was talking about? Before you protest, your phone was vibrating. "I think it's your father, [Surname] Kenji." said Jonggun.
Without thinking, you reached into your bag and took out the sophisticated flat object. Then picked up the voice call from your father. "Hello? Yeah, Dad?" you spoke in soft tone.
"Honey, maybe you're meet him, Yamazaki-kun. I know it's sudden but--- sorry ..." he was sobbing, made your mind full of question. Why your dad sound really sad? Did something happen?
Jonggun took steps toward you, and he leaned at your phone, "Yeah, it's me, [Surname] Kenji. Your daughter with her friend," you felt his breath hitting your earlobe.
You heard your father sighed, "Thank you, I hope she doesn't making you in trouble." he said.
"Don't worry, I know she's a good little one." he leaned back, and took off his sunglasses. His irises looked at yours deeply. "She isn't the troublemaker, she's a good girl."
