You began your stardom career at the mere age of 17 years after an agent saw your photos posted through social media. The said photo was the cause of the tumbling domino effect, igniting and bursting into bold bright orange flames, into dipping your toes into the window of opportunity and universe of high fashion, colourful red carpets and long hallways of runways.

You were on your own. You were no kid, anymore. You’re moving onto big girl things like moving to the big city; flashing lights, fast-paced times, overwhelming anxiety-filled environment, big mysteries and savouring new moments. Tom Ford, catapulted your career further way beyond the horizon.

Chest squeezing. Heart thumping. Bright lights. Everyone’s attention turned to you— the clicks of their cameras. Gaze is fixed on the end of the runway. Conscious of your steps. God, you felt awkward. With the slight rock and sway of your hips, this movement didn’t come naturally as the other models did. You felt tiny. How were you supposed to showcase the intricately designed clothing when they might be snickering about how you walk?

A fellow model reassured you, ‘There was no such thing as perfection when you’ve only begun..’

Fake it till you make it they say. Well, years have passed at the age of 22, and you are now one of the most recognisable faces in the industry. You’ve walked for many runways on endless fashion weeks, been on the cover of Vogue, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, the face of Versace, representative of Swarovski and many more. Some even dare say, up and coming It Girl. You’ve accomplished a lot, all on your own.

Though, one unexpected thing came into your life, living in Seoul, South Korea. The thought never crossed your mind once. But you came to South Korea for a photo shoot with Vogue Korea back in 2019. Needless to say, you fell in love with the culture, the country’s generous and kind residents, the language, the atmosphere and — Well, obviously, the city itself. You have dedicated learning the language and culture in order to live smoothly and in harmony.

It was difficult having to fly out to New York thousands of miles away, the epicentre of jobs and Fashion Week. But, what can you say? You were used to it. Hopping onto planes needing to be somewhere by Friday? Oh, London Fashion week ends on this day but, Paris starts that day. No worries. It was painfully exhausting but that’s the life of a Supermodel.

Your life in Seoul didn’t change much. Though this time you’re receiving twice the jobs than you did before, many Korean designers have reached out to you to model for the clothing they have designed such as Rok Hwang, Eudon Choi, the duo Byungmun Seo and Jina Um and finally, Youngae Lee and Happly for their project ‘Hanbok Wave’. Not only were you attracting attention in the fashion industry but it extended to the entertainment industry, you’ve been invited to many varieties of shows to be featured in.

As your schedule began to fizzle down, you found the time to film for the TV programme you were featured in ‘I live Alone’. Dressed all chic and feminine, opting for the chunky loafers with a pair of long white socks instead of your Versace heels. Your hair is all done so beautifully. Smiling so brightly at all the familiar faces and jogging up to them for a quick embrace. A light chatter followed along with it, ‘how are you?’, ‘I’ve been doing well’, ‘It’s nice to see you again’. Strings of compliments flowed through.

“안녕하세요. I’m (First name).” You greet the man. Undeniably gorgeous, you couldn’t even focus much on what he was saying as he reaches in for a handshake, he introduces himself as— 

“안녕하세요, 조규성.” The beautiful angel marks dotted all over his face like starry stars across the wide peaceful sky. But, goddamn, he’s so bright like the sun and his beauty is also so blinding it hurts. His beautiful carved nose and the sharp angles of his jaw, high prominent cheekbones. Everything about him was a piece of art. He’s a delicate and classic painting deserving to be in a museum.

Heartbeat was skipping across the street. 

Filming starts at any second now and you couldn’t tear your eyes away from him. The soft fluffy brush glides across your face for the final touch-ups. Unbeknownst to you, Gue Sung also had to take a double take also stealing sweet glimpses, you had an addicting kind of beauty. It was much more than a drug. The kind of one that makes Aphrodite green as envy and red as rage. Eyes trail to every detail of your face. The way your eyes brighten as you joke lightly with your makeup artist.

“Please everyone get ready! Filming will start in 10!”

That was months ago. Time flies quickly; your home became littered with traces of him. He was everywhere you looked, in every corner, you breathed him. Gue Sung has now integrated well and was a part of your being. You have made space in your extensive closet just for him, he has his very own mug for his coffee in the morning, framed photo of you together on your bedside table, his own toothbrush and his very own corner for all the things he leaves.

Those months spent together have nothing been but elated, fondness and love. You have never been this happy, your whole entire life, you have never expected for him to come into your life at such an unexpected time. But, you thank God every day.

The sound of the familiar beeps and the sound of the front door opening echoed in your small apartment. 

“자기야, I’m home!”

Immediately, you tossed your phone aside, jumped off the sofa and came barreling. Gue Sung was kicking off his shoes as he slips his face mask off, he puts his bag down and his arm stretched out wide open. No hesitation, you crashed right into his warm loving embrace.

“Hi.” You mumbled nuzzling your face into the side of his neck and inhaling his scent. He awkwardly shuffles with you still practically glued onto him and clung onto him like a koala bear, Gue Sung peppers your temples and hairline with kisses. Running his hands up and down your back. You only snuggled further onto his neck tightening your grip around his large frame.

“Did you miss me?” He whispers softly voice dripping in honey, you pull away enough so, you could stare deeply into his eyes, and you rest your head on his shoulder. Gue Sung couldn’t resist but placed a quick kiss on your lips.

“Not even a little bit.” You tease, poking your tongue out at him playfully.

“Oh? I know you did. You can’t even think about not having me by your side that’s why you asked for my number when we first met.” Not exactly a lie but, not exactly the complete truth either. You gasped dramatically,

“I don’t appreciate you lying about my name like that.”

Gue Sung hums. 

“Did you eat yet?” You asked.

“No. I knew you were waiting for me.” It tendered your heart.

“Let’s go eat then. I’m sure you’re starving.” However, Gue Sung didn’t want to let go, his grip on you only tightened squeezing you against his torso. No matter how many times, you brush his arms away it would always ends up back circling around your waist.

“What? I can’t set the table if we’re like this.” You laugh light-heartedly,

“Have you always been this pretty?” Gue Sung almost coos, “우리이쁜자기 ( My pretty baby ).”

“Go take a shower! You stink.” You ushered him away towards the bathroom. Your ear pick up the sound of water splashing, you move around the kitchen, hands everywhere all at once to get the food reheated, plated and on the table before Gue Sung gets out of the shower. 

It has been a long day for him, you’re sure. You take upong yourself to sit while you await for your beloved, occupied by your mobile phone. Food all laid out on the table; all simple and quick whipped up meal, thankfully your boyfriend was no picky eater. He enjoyed a variety of dishes and scarfed everything down with gusto… Except meat. He’s particular about how it should be done. Not long after, he emerges from the shower.

You held out your hand for him to hand the towel. It’s a unspoken ritual at this point; he sits down and you dry off his hair. There was something weirdly intimate about it. Running the soft towel through his damp hair. Once his hair is relatively dry, you carded your fingers through his hair brushing it off his forehead, slicking it back. He lets out a sigh of relief and softens under your tender touch. 

You were so deeply lost in your task, you fail to notice Gue Sung’s blatant fond, affectionate and loving stare. He admires everything that you are from your head and down to your toe. He likes everything that you do to him.

“What?” You ask with a stupid smile on your face leaning to his level.

“Nothing.” Gue Sung shook his head.

He cups your face peppered kisses. From your forehead. Eyes. Nose. Cheeks. Finally on your lips.

One love, one house.

woaaa, adalah kata setelah drama Taxi Driver tamat. Btw, aku akan menunggu season 2 yang rencananya akan tayang pada tahun 2023. Can't wait pengen ketemu si supir taksi lagi :D

Taxi Driver ini bercerita tentang Rainbow Taxi perusahan taksi tak biasa ini menjalankan misi balas dendam untuk para klien dari taksi mewah.

Pas awal nonton, aku beneran ragu, penuh keragu-raguan. Apakah Kim Do Ki orang jahat? Apakah Pak Jang beneran memaafkan pembunuh ortunya? Kayak semua pemain tuh abu-abu, belum jelas tokoh baik jahatnya. Tapi, lama-lama bisa ngerti pemikiran dari masing-masing pemain.

Dari Geng Taksi mewah, kita bisa belajar bahwa tentu balas dendam hanya akan melahirkan balas dendam lainnya. Cuman salut banget, mereka bisa membalaskan amarah orang lain meskipun bisa jadi nyawa mereka terancam. Mungkin, karena mereka memiliki masa lalunya yang sama-sama menyakitkan, kehilangan orang tersayang akibat ketidakadila , jadi mereka bisa relate.

Selain itu, drama ini kayak menekankan betapa kerennya geng Taksi Mewah dalam menyelidiki pelaku kejahatan. Sat set sat set banget dah, gercep to the one! Bahkan kadang jaksa kalah gercep menangkap penjahat.

Dan yang paling tersiksa kayakya Kim Do Ki deh, adegan laganya gak pernah keok tapi malah berakhir di rumah sakit. Mau dihajar, di tusuk pun dia tetap bangkit. Ada ya orang kayak gitu di rl?

Lalu, geng taksi mewah lainnya juga bener2 punya peran masing-masing. Ahn Go Eun si ahli IT yang sagala tau, Choi Kyung Koo dan Park Jin Eon meskipun kocak tapi mereka punya pangabisa tentang mesin. Pak Jang Sung Chul yang jadi otak dan ahli strategi. Lalu, jaksa Kang Hana, kita butuh jaksa yang kayak gini terutama di negeri wakanda haha

Overall, suka banget sama drama ini. Kita kayak gabisa diajak berhenti degdegan, selalu ada plot twist apalagi lewat cerita para klien Taksi Mewah. Menurutku, kasus yang paling serem yaitu U Data, ngeri kalau ada aslinya. Terus jangan lupa Baek Sung Mi, si berbahaya.

Terus penjahat paling kasihan, si cewek pelabuhan tukang nipu. Emang relate banget penipuan telepon dan pasti uangnya ga akan balik lagi, tapi rasa bapernya ke Kim Do Ki bikin gue terenyuh. Akhirnya ada cowok yang buat dia secure dan PD, eh ujung-ujungnya ditipu juga. Tukang tipu emang harus ditipu lagi biar kerasa syakitnya.

Lalu menuju ending, tambah degdegan ngeliat perjuangan geng taksi mewah. Orang jahat emang kudu dibalas dengan jahat pula, tapi kita tetap butuh hukum, gak bisa main hakim sendiri.

Emang dari awal, drama ini berfokus ke Geng Taksi Mewah, tapi ada Jaksa yang jadi penyeimbang. Bahwa meskipun niat kamu baik pengen memberantas orang jahat, tapi kalau caranya salah kamu bisa jadi penjahatnya. Dan endingnya bener2 keinginanku banget, semua menyatu padu buat nargetin hal yang sama.

Meskipun gada romance tapi kusuka banget chemistry mereka semua. Kerasa banget kekeluargaannya, partner kerjanya. But, ada beberapa produk iklan yang ganggu banget menurutku. Jadi, harus lebih smooth lagu dah ngiklaninnya.

N. Koreans finish their last PyeongChang Paralympics event

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea, March 14 (Yonhap) — North Korean athletes finished their last event at the PyeongChang Winter Paralympics in South Korea on Wednesday before they return home.

Ma Yu-chol and Kim Jong-hyon competed in the men’s 1.1 kilometer sprint cross-country skiing event in the sitting category at the PyeongChang Winter Paralympics. Ma and Kim finished 31st and 32nd respectively among 36 competitors.

Ma clocked in at 3 minutes 59.48 seconds, while Kim had a time of 4:23.87, which was more than a minute behind the top qualifier Maksym Yarovyi of Ukraine. Their performance was watched by South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his wife Kim Jung-sook, who visited Alpensia Biathlon Centre in PyeongChang, some 180 kilometers east of Seoul.

In the men’s sprint event, the top 12 performers from the qualifying round advance to the next stage. South Korea’s Sin Eui-hyun reached the semifinals by finishing eighth in the qualifying stage.

This was their second and last competition at the PyeongChang Paralympics. The two sit skiers previously competed in the men’s 15 kilometer sitting cross-country skiing event on Sunday, taking the bottom two spots among 27 contestants who finished the race.

Although their competition results were not impressive, Ma and Kim already made history as they became the first two North Koreans to compete at the Winter Paralympics. Before PyeongChang 2018, North Korea had only appeared at two Summer Paralympics: London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016.

Ma and Kim were able to participate in the 12th Winter Paralympics after the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) gave a special invitation to North Korea.

North Korea sent a 24-member delegation with six athletes to PyeongChang, but excluding Kim and Ma, the four other athletes came as observers.

North Korea’s athletic delegation is scheduled to return home Thursday, but four officials from the North’s Paralympic Committee, including Kim Mun-chol, the head of the Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled (KFPD), could stay until the closing ceremony of the PyeongChang Paralympics on Sunday.

Kim, 17, is a student at Kim Il Sung University in Pyongyang and was the flagbearer for North Korea at the opening ceremony of the PyeongChang Paralympics.

Ma, 27, visited South Korea to compete in table tennis at the 2014 Asian Para Games in Incheon. At the opening ceremony on Friday, he carried the Paralympic torch together with South Korean para skier Choi Bo-gue.

Ma and Kim started cross-country skiing in December 2017. Both suffered impairments to their lower limbs in car accidents.

365 : Repeat the year (two third Review)

Sebenarnya daripada review (dan ada sedikit spoiler), gue hanya mau mengalirkan energi kegemeshan dan stres yang diakibatkan fokus nonton drakor ini. Ga banyak yang suka genre drakor ini, well, dibanding drakor dengan tema pelakor (yang sekarang lagi SUPER HITS sampe mamak Ires pengen maki-maki), tema romance (kadang gue nonton kalau suntuk) dan tema perjuangan (kek Itaewon class).

Untuk lingkaran gue sendiri, gue baru nemu diri gue sendiri yang istiqamah nunggu selasa pagi dan rabu pagi untuk donlot dan nonton drama ini dengan khidmat. Terima kasih WFH, tapi kutak mau WFH lama-lama. 

Untuk genre thriller plus misteri plus fantasi karena ada bunuh-bunuhannya, pencarian terhadap siapa pembunuhnya, dan kenapa mereka-mereka ini bisa reset (kembali ke waktu 1 tahun sebelumnya) dan fantasi. Oya, gue lupa bilang, part kesukaan gue sebenarnya kalau genre thriller itu ada romancenya tipis-tipis. 

Part ter-gemesh-nya adalah scene Gahyeon sama Hyeongju kerja bareng sama parodi dari scene terkenal film La Boum (1980). Senyumannya Hyeongju ke Gahyeon kalau Gahyeon lagi sandiwara itu bikin yang nonton (gue) mukul-mukul lantai. Lebay? Iya ga papa. 

Part ter-ambyarnya justru pas episode 15-16 yang tayang selasa malam. Dear writer-nim, tolong biarkan penonton kek gue menikmati scene gemesh mereka lebih lama sampai akhir episode! Itu maunya gue, tapi mungkin writernim lebih tahu scene mana yang bikin orang makin sakit kepala nonton drama ini. 

Ibarat reply seriesnya Shin PD sama Lee Writernim, dimana hampir tiap series tugasnya adalah menemukan “Cowok mana yang jadi suaminya?”, drama ini tuh “Siapa yang jadi pembunuhnya?”

Actually list pertanyaan gue untuk two third part (karena TERNYATA hanya 24 episode saudara-saudara dan sekarang udah episode 16) ini lumayan banyak :

1) Siapa pembunuhnya? Jawaban slash dugaan untuk pertanyaan ini sebenarnya tiap minggu berubah-ubah seiring gue ngikutin. Yang nonton ini dengan khidmat pasti jadi suudzon dan GAK PERCAYA SIAPAPUN di drama ini. Jadi Skeptis parah. Udah mah anaknya overthinking jadi aja kepikiran. Ini level kepikirannya mirip-mirip waktu gue galau nunggu episode 19 dan 20 Reply 88 sama nunggu episode 14 Goblin (karena waktu itu yang harusnya episode 13 lanjut 14 tapi karena ada satu n lain hal, diundur jadi next week). Ini memang beban penonton ongoing kek gue. Gapapa. 

Awalnya gue mencurigai Lee Shin (Ownernya Zian Clinic) yang ngajakin mereka bersepuluh untuk reset adalah dalang dibalik ini semua, karena doi mau anaknya -Lee Young- yang masih kecil tetep ada, entah karena di usia sekian anaknya emang sakit terus meninggal sehingga dia memutuskan untuk reset terus menerus atau orang-orang yang reset ini adalah syarat agar Lee Young bisa ikutan reset juga. 

Di tengah-tengah, gue curiga sama Gahyeon yang jadi webtoon comic writer. Karena ada scene di eps Seo Yoon Soo meninggal Gahyeon lagi menggambar adegan pembunuhan di taman. Dan, jujur, Gahyeon ini cerdas plus sensitif banget. Pesan di buket bunga yang isinya adalah potongan prosa dari buku “Pieces of Destiny” jadi semacam dying message, karena bagian-bagian nya itu diambil dari halaman yang menunjukkan waktu kematian. Dan bisa aja dia melakukan pembunuhan untuk menambah inspirasi webtoon nya yang berjudul Hidden Killer. 

2) Apakah Seo Hye In beneran ikut reset atau hanya sekedar korban saja? Karena di episode awal itu mba Seo Hye In (sebelum reset doi hamil) memutuskan untuk tidak reset karena tidak mau kehilangan bayinya (kalau mundur setahun berarti bayinya belum ada). Terus malah pas mereka reset dan ketemu Mba Seo Hye In yang ternyata owner florist tempat “pembunuh” mesan buket bunga dengan kartu ucapan yang menjadi penunjuk waktu kematian orang-orang yang Reset sebelum mba Hye In meninggal dan mba Hye In juga. 

3) Dugaan terkuat, orang-orang yang ikut Reset itu saling terhubung di masa lalu (masa sebelum reset): 

Bae Jung Tae - Cha Jeong Seok : hubungan antara mafia sama penjudi. 

Shin Ga Hyeon - Seo Yoon Soo : sebelum reset, Kim Dae Sung (tunangannya Yoon Soo) nabrak lari Ga Hyeon sampai dia lumpuh (alasan utama GaHyeon reset supaya menghindar dari kecelakaan ini). Tapi malah Yoon Soo nabrak sahabat baiknya Gahyeon sampai meninggal.

Kim Se Rin - Ko Jae Young : Cowok yang dikejar-kejar Serin (Choi Yoong Woong) waktu SMA pernah dibully sama Ko Jae Young. Alasan utama Ko Jae Young reset itu untuk nyari Yoong Woong supaya waktu bapaknya Jae Young yang nyalon jadi menteri Pendidikan tidak terseret masalah karena kasus bully anaknya. Se Rin ini menderita Munchausen Syndrome (lihat disini aja ya). Alasan Serin reset ya karena pengen dapetin hatinya Woong Yoong meski akhirnya doi meninggal. 

Shin Ga Hyeon - Ji Hyeong Ju : Hyeong ju ini fans webtoon yang judulnya Hidden killer. Penulis Hidden killer ini si Shin Gahyeon. tapi sebelum reset, Hyeong Ju belum tahu kalau Gahyeon ini penulisnya karena waktu fansign di mall, doi datang terlambat dan Gahyeon aka MARU itu terkenal ga mau diposting fotonya di sosmed. 

Resetter lainnya belum diketahui kaitannya satu sama lain. Yang paling bikin pertanyaan adalah apa kaitannya Hyeong Ju sama Gahyeon. haha...

4) Alasan mereka reset :

Ji Hyeong Ju : alasan resetnya adalah menyelamatkan teman satu divisinya (Park Sunho) karena meninggal ditusuk mantan narapidana yang dendam sama Hyeong Ju. Tapi gue curiga, ada alasan lain kenapa doi reset yang mungkin ada kaitannya sama Shin GaHyeon. 

Shin Ga Hyeon : menghindar dari kecelakaan yang membuat dia lumpuh 

Bae Jung Tae : jujur awalnya gue kira dia mafia jahat ga punya hati, ternyata dia reset untuk nyelamatin adeknya yang punya penyakit jantung. Jadi dia usaha supaya adeknya bisa dapat transplantasi jantung. 

Cha Jeung Seok : sebelum reset (episode 1), bapak ini muncul sebagai gelandangan. Setelah reset, bapak ini yang paling necis. Karena ternyata dia berhenti judi dan bener-bener kerja di perusahaannya. 

Choi Kyung Man : kakek ini reset supaya bisa pensiun dengan tenang, dan juga menang lotere. Tapi justru kupon lotere nya diambil sebagai ‘kenang-kenangan’ dari pembunuh. 

Seo Yoon Soo : reset supaya bisa memperbaiki hubungannya sama Kim Dae Sung tunangannya. Doi udah tahu kalau dulu mereka pernah nabrak lari cewek (Shin GaHyeon) makanya hidupnya ga tenang. Reset ke 1 tahun sebelumnya supaya gak nabrak lagi, tapi yang ditabrak sekarang adalah mantan sahabatnya GaHyeon, Min Joo Young. 

Hwang No Seob : ngediriin kafe karena mau ngurusin istrinya (ini agak aneh sebenarnya). 

Ko Jae Young : mencegah video pembullyan dari jaman SMA nya dia muncul supaya ga mengganggu usaha Bapaknya nyalon jadi Menteri Pendidikan. 

Kim Se Rin : ngejar cowok yang dia suka (Choi Yoong Woong) supaya bisa sewa apartemen di sebelah apartemen Yoong Woong. 

Park Young Gil : Doi ini kurir ekspedisi pengiriman (kalo di Indonesia mungkin kaya kurir/supir JNE, JNT gitu kali ya). Nah ini juga kurang dipahami alasannya kenapa reset, mungkin sih mau memperbaiki kondisi keuangannya. Tapi mirisnya pas-pas doi nyampe di satu tahun sebelumnya malah langsung meninggal karena ketabrak truk dari arah kiri (jadi kalau mereka reset itu kaya pingsan sebentar). 

5) Kakek Hwang No Seob (Owner caffee 36,5C) ada hubungan apa sama Lee Shin?

6) Trus takdir apa yang dimaksud Lee Shin sebagai ironis?

7) Siapa pembunuh yang ngumpulin barang-barang berharganya para resetter di satu ruangan putih? 

8) Kenapa Lee Shin ngajakin mereka reset? padahal di tanggal 11 Januari 2020 mereka masih hidup, sementara ketika kembali ke tahun 11 Januari 2019 malah mereka meninggal lebih cepat dibanding sebelum reset. Memang sih, orang kembali ke masa lalu untuk memperbaiki kondisi yang kurang beruntung dan pasti mengubah masa depan. 

9) Kenapa semua yang diucapin sama Gahyeon langsung kejadian? pertama, waktu dia mutusin persahabatan sama Ju Yoong karena pacaranya Gahyeon ternyata selingkuh sama sahabatnya ini, Gahyeon bilang lebih baik kamu menghilang aja dari dunia ini dan langsung kejadian Ju Yoong ditabrak sama Kim Dae Sung. 

Kemudian, waktu Gahyeon bilang ga mau ketemu Se Rin (karena SeRin ngebohongin GaHyeon), habis itu beneran SeRin nya meninggal (Lee Shin sudah tahu kalau misalnya SeRin bakal meninggal di hari ini). 

10) Apakah Ji Hyeong Ju adalah pembunuh serial killer? Dugaan sementara gue, hidden killer yang di webtoon Gahyeon ada hubungannya sama Hyeong Ju. entah siapa mempengaruhi siapa, karena si Hyeong Ju ngefans banget sama webtoon ini dan webtoon ini setelah reset juga dipengaruhi oleh kejadian kematian yang melibatkan orang-orang resetter. 

Sebenarnya, masih banyak banget pertanyaan lainnya tapi otak ku terlalu ruwet untuk menguraikan semua ini. Jadi kita nunggu Hospital Playlist aja ya supaya ngurangin spaneng nunggu Selasa dan Rabu minggu depan. Sama nonton drakor lain. Emang siklus evilnya drakor ini adalah menghilangkan euforia nonton satu drama dengan nonton drama lain.

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea, March 14 (Yonhap) — North Korean athletes finished their last event at the PyeongChang Winter Paralympics in South Korea on Wednesday before they return home.

Ma Yu-chol and Kim Jong-hyon competed in the men’s 1.1 kilometer sprint cross-country skiing event in the sitting category at the PyeongChang Winter Paralympics. Ma and Kim finished 31st and 32nd respectively among 36 competitors.

Ma clocked in at 3 minutes 59.48 seconds, while Kim had a time of 4:23.87, which was more than a minute behind the top qualifier Maksym Yarovyi of Ukraine. Their performance was watched by South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his wife Kim Jung-sook, who visited Alpensia Biathlon Centre in PyeongChang, some 180 kilometers east of Seoul.

In the men’s sprint event, the top 12 performers from the qualifying round advance to the next stage. South Korea’s Sin Eui-hyun reached the semifinals by finishing eighth in the qualifying stage.

This was their second and last competition at the PyeongChang Paralympics. The two sit skiers previously competed in the men’s 15 kilometer sitting cross-country skiing event on Sunday, taking the bottom two spots among 27 contestants who finished the race.

Although their competition results were not impressive, Ma and Kim already made history as they became the first two North Koreans to compete at the Winter Paralympics. Before PyeongChang 2018, North Korea had only appeared at two Summer Paralympics: London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016.

Ma and Kim were able to participate in the 12th Winter Paralympics after the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) gave a special invitation to North Korea.

North Korea sent a 24-member delegation with six athletes to PyeongChang, but excluding Kim and Ma, the four other athletes came as observers.

North Korea’s athletic delegation is scheduled to return home Thursday. Initially, four officials from the North’s Paralympic Committee, including Kim Mun-chol, the head of the Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled (KFPD), were expected to stay through the end and attend the closing ceremony on Sunday. But unification ministry officials in Seoul said all those four officials will also leave PyeongChang on Thursday.

Kim, 17, is a student at Kim Il Sung University in Pyongyang and was the flagbearer for North Korea at the opening ceremony of the PyeongChang Paralympics.

Ma, 27, visited South Korea to compete in table tennis at the 2014 Asian Para Games in Incheon. At the opening ceremony on Friday, he carried the Paralympic torch together with South Korean para skier Choi Bo-gue.

Ma and Kim started cross-country skiing in December 2017. Both suffered impairments to their lower limbs in car accidents.
