I love your blog btw!
Happy New Year to you!!! - Favorite Kingfisher...
I really like kingfishers, so its hard to pick a favorite. You're going to have to settle for a top 3. I really like small green kingfishers from the Americas.

This tiny American pygmy kingfisher (Chloroceryle aenea) occurs in dense forests along the banks of the rio Negro. Are rare sightings, it's a real beauty. July 6, 2016 - American Pygmy Kingfisher (Chloroceryle aenea)
These small kingfishers are found from Central America through much of South America, into northeast Argentina. They catch small fish and frogs, tadpoles, and insects from low perches near water. Females lay their eggs in unlined burrows in river banks or mounds of earth. Smaller than most kingfisher species, they are about five inches (13 cm) long.

From the Trinidad and Tobago Field Naturalists’ Club Facebook page (check it out for more info on T&T’s natural history):
The pygmy kingfisher (Chloroceryle aenea) is Trinidad's smallest kingfisher. It can be found in a range of environments but always near water, including mountain streams, mangrove swamps and marshes. They feed on small fish, insects and other small prey items. While difficult to detect when perched, pygmy kingfishers will usually vocalize when in flight.

Sorry if you've already been asked this, but what are your favorite types of kingfishers?
No, no problem, this is one of my favorite groups of birds.
My absolute favorite king fisher is the tiny American Pygmy Kingfisher. Paxon and I used to take a canoe down this little creek in far eastern Ecuador, called Orchidea, where an APKF used to perch and feed on small fishes. We'd site and watch it for quite a long time.
