Liar, Chiyori casually thought to herself as she listened to her senpai’s words, amber hues carefully scanning over each of the other’s features — brown hair, big eyes, clear skin, perhaps a bit sleep-deprived, but so what?
Why Shoko-senpai would state such bleak things about herself, Chiyori couldn’t fathom. Besides, Shoko-senpai was only a few years her senior. Quite some time until wrinkles and grey strands would start growing, Chiyori thought.
Even then, she doubted it’d make Shoko-senpai appear less lovely. “A crown of flowers would pale in comparison,” the younger student countered simply, face relaxing into a reassuring smile. Now, that would be the truth.

Huh? Eyelids squeezed shut as Shoko-senpai’s hand reached over to pinch something behind her ear. It was thin and straw-like, almost like the tip of it could poke her skin if the other wasn’t careful. Like a stem. Chiyori fluttered her eyes open again. She reached up, fingers gingerly brushing over soft petals. Aah, a flower! With ease, the younger girl let her hand fall back to place. “Aah, does it look cute, senpai?” A warm smile spread. “You should put a flower in your hair too.” Yeah, Shoko-senpai would definitely look pretty with a flower in her hair too, she thought.
More often than not, Shoko found herself offering only most rudimentary care to the students. Patch up scraped knees and elbows, put together broken bones, stitch up pierced lungs and ruptured livers. Beyond that, she didn't interfere. No time, no heart. If you don't get used to them, the loss doesn't hit as much.
"You look cute, the flower just suits you." She corrected, mirroring girl's smile somewhat despite herself. This one, she couldn't help but care, but worry about. "Not even a crown of flowers could help this face though anymore, I'm afraid."
