He might’ve been a little new to Zootopia, having only just transferred there at the beginning of the month for work, but it wasn’t as if he was doing anything wrong. Right? Just had to act natural and make himself look as innocent as possible — which he was!

“ Evenin’, officer. What seems t’ be th’ trouble? ” his voice was several octaves higher than usual, his arms crossed, then set on his hips, then moved back to crossing again before he just dropped them.

@chixfbogo​ asked-  ❝Don’t you pass out on me!❞ As much as Chief Bogo hides his soft emotions away from his officers, he cares a lot about his officers. He sounded firm and serious. @ Judy (hurt starters)

Judy clutches Bogo’s arm tightly. She wants to do as her commanding officer asked, but lights above are fading in and out. Her mind growing foggy. And then panic. ‘Wait...’She says breathlessly. That fighting spirit of hers keeping her conscious a little while longer ‘She got away.’ Judy tries to bounce to her feet, but finds herself meeting the harsh ground once more. A searing pain shoots up her spine and a frustrated wail escapes her. ‘Chief Bogo we need to-’ Her eyelids are fluttering now... and what little strength she had is fading.

Ears constantly flicking back and forth and every direction, Maverick only hesitated a moment as the cape buffalo stated what his assignment was. Parking duty.. Really..? For a moment, he wanted to groan, and- Well, he couldn’t help a brief rolling of his eyes and a slight scoff. He’d already had nothing but parking duty when he was still at the precinct in Safaria City, even when he made it very well known that he’d be great for running the night shift, or recon, or stealth ops!  But.. Well, seems that wasn’t going to change here either.

“Right. Right.. I’ll get right on that.” He moved toward the door to leave, before he stopped and turned back. “And.. let me guess, I’ll probably be expected to make coffee runs around here too? I memorized everyone’s orders around the Safaria precinct, so it won’t be too hard to do it for the ZPD too.”

Skipper had just been tying up some crooks when a gargantuan wildebeest? No? Moose? Noo. Buffalo?! - An officer at that, comes too late to the scene. Skipper, dusting off his flippers, turning towards the horned officer.

The stoutly, monochromatic bird clears his throat, hopping off of the capybara he had entangled in duct tape! ❛ Too slow, Officer Yak! ❜ Skipper sounds, rude to have assumed that the buffalo chief was an officer and a yak. ❛ I already wrangled the varmints up; honestly I thought the ZPD be a no show! ❜ Being a spy for ORKA he does consider himself better than the police and he was not going to withheld on bragging rights. Even in front of their common enemy.

The owl shivered as he thought about his little…. Issue. “Well, it’s a disaster you see?” The owl glanced towards the museum and back at the buffalo, sure he might be overblowing it just a little but he couldn’t do it on his own.

“Somehow the tarantulas got out and somewhere in the fossil collection and if I must be honest I can’t go in there with those things lurking somewhere.!” He hated bugs and he was not finding them on his own. Sure, he allowed them in the museum but that was more out of duty than anything. “Can you help me?”

The golden cockatoo put a hand against his chest in faux hurt. “Bogo, Bogo, Bogo! You sound as though you’re not happy at all to see me! And I went through all the trouble of getting dressed up for a night out, too!”

As a police officer, Kiara supposed, the towering buffalo was probably involved in more incidents that made the news than the one that was specifically on her mind. The young lioness paused for a moment, re-evaluating her approach.

“The piece about Mayor Bellwether’s arrest. That was you giving the interview, wasn’t it?”

She was pretty sure it was; Zootopia’s police chief was quite distinctive.

“I’m relieved that the ‘savage’ scare is over. But is it really true that the whole thing was one big plot against us predators?”

Don’t blame her for having trouble wrapping her head around it. While Kiara had been sure, all along, that it was down to more than just biology, she also hadn’t imagined anything of quite this scope.

If Judy has learnt anything about Chief Bogo over the last few months; its that you must never show any sign of weakness in front of him. He has high expectation for his team and its a good thing too; its not easy being an officer, you have to put in a lot of work. A lot of hard work. But she can’t seem to shake this feeling.

With a deep breath and a stern expression she approaches her chief. ‘Chief Bogo, I wouldn’t bother you unless it was urgent. But it is.  Officer Spots...he’s...the animal we’ve been looking for. ‘ She is clearly distressed; carrying the knowledge that one of their own has been deceiving them. ‘He’s the one responsible for the missing animals.’ Her voice is at a low volume- her eyes falling to the floor. She can only hope he believes her.

She looks up at Bogo, fear in her eyes and a frown on her face. She can’t believe that she’s been bitten. Infected...and very soon she will be unable to control herself...a mindless creature looking for-

She shouldn’t think like that now.

She has always been a fighter; so this bite isn't going to stop her from getting Bogo and the last of the remaining survivors out of here...but she doesn't have long left...the infection will take over. They need to keep moving if the others are going to make it.

'With all due respect sir, you know it yourself...I’m- I'm bitten. Infected. I have a few hours at best. We've seen it happen to too many animals.' A painful hissing sound escapes between her teeth as she stands, wobbling slightly from the effects of the infection already seeping in.

'Let's just make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. We need to find a way out of here and fast.' Judy adds with a new found determination, her paw instinctively covering up the bite on her left arm.

“I was doing parking duty! I- Look! I’m just two short of the quota for the day, but- Chief, I couldn’t ignore what I heard. A bat’s hearing is his blessing, as my Nana always told me, and she’s right, I-” He stopped, faltering a little as he realized that.. he… didn’t actually know what they were up to, specifically… Ah, guano.. Come on, Maverick, think! And say something!

“Well, I know what I heard, but… not.. all the details.. sir…” He admitted, hunching his shoulders a bit. “But the mongoose said something to this caracal about ‘making a hit’.. He said, ‘we make the hit, and we get our money’ and there was something about just being there to do what the client said.” If he thought about it, that honestly sounded like mercenary talk, or a hitman, but- His eyes widened a bit as he realized.

“The caracal! He had something! Something the mongoose told him he was supposed to move further toward southside!”

He cringed a bit at the shout from the chief. Oh, boy.. He was furious, wasn’t he.. But the rookie had just been trying to do the right thing! He’d caught a criminal!! ..Right? Passing the mongoose off to another officer, with an utterance of ‘he’s up to something’, he shuffled his way over to Bogo, and then.. into the office. He had to ignore the pain of the scratches he’d gained from that caracal, and the ache from hitting the front desk.

“Sir, that mongoose is up to something, and I had to act.”

The cape buffalo had noticed the scratches on the rookie as he seethed out. ❝You strayed away from your parking duty job and you got yourself hurt in the process.❞ He sounded furious. He was not expecting to deal with a reckless rookie. ❝Also, where did you get those scratches and what was this mongoose up to?❞ He sounded firm.
