Yay!! Moths!! My favourite!!
Geometrid Moth/Geometer moth- This once specifically is an Iotaphora iridicolor. They are most commonly found in India and China.
Rosy Maple Moth - fun fact about this particular photo, the photographer one a Flickr competition for it 17 years ago!
Luna Moth - A bit hard to tell but judging by the antennae, that photo is of a male <3
Blackberry looper - Guess why they're called that. Yep, the larvae eat blackberry leaves/flowers. They thought long and hard about that name.
Chinese Moon Moth - That one is a very vibrantly coloured one. I haven't seen them that brightly coloured and saturated before. Regardless, this one is a female. The males are more yellow!
Pastel colored moths 🌸

zhongli ▪︎ glazed moon
pairing: zhongli x traveler!reader
genre(s): comfort + mild angst + fluff
summary: liyue harbor is once again preparing for another festival — the mid-autumn festival. but somehow she simply couldn't bring herself to join the others in the celebration. definitely not when her heart is aching in melancholy for her missing twin. — | m.list
background: this scenario takes place during the mid-autumn festival - as quoted from wikipedia - it is the second-most important holiday after Chinese New Year with a history dating back 3,000 years, when China's emperors worshipped the moon for bountiful harvests.[2] The celebration is called Chuseok (autumn eve) in Korea, Tsukimi (moon-viewing) in Japan and Tết Trung Thu (Mid-Autumn Festival) in Vietnam
this event celebrated by the chinese is usually spent eating mooncakes and drinking teas. lanterns are also an important aspect of this festival. unlike the yuanxiao fesitval or mingxiao festival (which is the fictional festival featuring best boy Xiao in GI) where lanterns are released into the sky, lanterns are hand-held. this is a festival i celebrate every year hence i'm familiar with it — feel free to read up about this on wiki!
a/n: don't mind me, this is just a random idea that popped in my head. i'm in the mood for some angsty stuff these days so just had to get it out. Flute version of 无羁 (Wu Ji) from the drama 'Untamed' was the song which inspired my angsty mood while typing this. pardon my errors (I may have missed them and i kinda wrote this on a spur sooooo yea)
Please do me a favor and reblog this. Thank youuuu ❤
the vitality of liyue harbor has always been astounding; an envy of the seven nations.
bright, bustling streets even in the darkness of nights was enough to show the nature of the city.
though, today it was a different kind of bustle. stores were already closed; even the nocturnal businesses that one would only see at night.
the moon had been bright and round the past few nights while the people busied themselves for another festival to come.
— the mid-autumn festival, an annual festival celebrated by the people of liyue or at least that was what zhongli explained yesterday when he extended an invitation to her to join him and others in moon-gazing today.
tonight, the moon shone bright and full in the clear dark sky, seemingly more so than the previous nights.
strategically rooted to the ground of a spacious balcony overlooking the gentle waves below, the stone tables were in a perfect spot beneath the brilliant moon.
colorful mooncakes of various flavors and teacups filled with steaming tea laid before her.
she sat at one of the round stone tables with some funeral parlor staff and of course, zhongli himself who has been rather busy ever since she arrived—
the cheerful chatters and laughter drew her eyes away from the empty seat beside her and to the tables across theirs.
his archon days were over, he said.
he was simply trying to experience a mundane life as 'zhongli' now, as the geo archon had put it when she expressed her surprise at his involvement with a festival fabricated by the mortals' minds.
and indeed—
her gaze idled on him.
— he was doing it too well.
illuminated by the golden glow the table lanterns emanated, the cordial and relaxed atmosphere was warmed by attentive eyes and smiling lips.
all on him.
apparently, some things never changed. whether he was rex lapis or zhongli, he carried an alluring elegance and charisma. clinging to every word and his occasional hand gestures, they were like moths drawn to a flame.
she could understand why; she liked hearing him talk. she would have gone over too, if not...if not for this weight on her heart.
it has been nearly a year since she was in teyvat looking for her twin. these few days in the harbor, the full moon was a constant reminder of how time has passed, and yet...
a heavy sigh escaped her. a longing gleam waned in her eyes as she lifted her gaze to the sky.
they used to talk and eat under a full moon just like this, a bitter ache clenched her heart.
her teeth sank into her lower lip as it trembled.
please...not now. her hands curled into shaking fists as she tried to hold back the tears threatening to leave her eyes.
not now. not at this party. she silently pleaded with herself, her squared shoulders shaking. it took all her willpower to not let the dam break.
but one managed to escape her anyway.
—shit.
she was up on her feet fast and slipped away from the party as subtly as she could.
stumbling out of the party half-blind with tears wasn't exactly the best situation to remember about the cloak meant to keep her warm on an autumn night.
luckily, she didn't end up falling off the stairs she currently sat on.
autumn in liyue was typically not cold, but tonight seemed especially so.
she shivered to the chilly breeze brushing against her back. goosebumps crawled across her skin, particularly on the areas her dress failed to protect against the cold.
she couldn't quite bring herself to go back for the cloak. not with the mess she was now.
the sight of the round moon above wavered in her vision as tears quietly trailed down her cheeks.
under the vast, seemingly endless night sky, she felt small...
— her knees were drawn closer to her chest, curled fingers digging into her dress.
...and extremely powerless.
where is he? why can't she find him? is he even in teyvat? Is he even...still alive? does he even exist anymore?
—a dreading sense of hopelessness echoed in her heart and summoned another wave of tears wavering her vision.
under this wide, endless sky and its luminous moon, she felt alone, truly alone in the presence of the joyous cacophony of laughter and playful yells coming from the festival she left behind.
a nasty voice prompted by the noise taunted her — of how no one would notice, even if she were to walk right out of liyue harbor right now.
drowning in harsh, relentless thoughts, she failed to notice the gaze of a pair of wise, golden eyes on her back, soft with concern.
long legs covered the distance between them in a quiet, graceful stride; the gentle clacks of his loafers whenever their heels hit the ground slipped past her notice too.
not even when he climbed down the steps to settle himself next to her, a step above hers.
not even the inevitable proximity between their bodies caused by the short stairs spacious for one but narrow for two.
only until his coat was off his shoulders and wrapped around hers—
"why the tears on the mid-autumn festival?"
—she jolted with a sharp gasp, her widening eyes snapping over to him.
the calm and prodding gaze that met hers was accompanied by the tender brush of his thumb across her left cheek, right under her tearing eye before switching over to her other.
"zh-zhongli?"
she stayed stunned, unsure she was feeling so because someone noticed she had left or was it because of this simple gesture.
zhongli has always been a mentor-like figure to her. his words, his wise gazes, the comforting pets he occasionally gave on her head and back had always reminded her of how she was a mere child in his eyes.
but tonight...this, nothing about the gentleness his hand or his eyes emanate felt normal. or was she just delirious?
the strange stutter of her heart caused by the hand on her face, the blush heating up her cheeks made her tear her gaze away from his, flustered.
zhongli let his hand drop back onto his knee, but his eyes stayed.
crossing her arms to hold onto his coat sitting on her shoulders, she thought hard to recall his question.
"i can't help thinking about my brother, that's all." she looked back at him, smiling.
a smile he thought reminded him of the moon when it was not yet full — a quiet light melancholic with vague sadness.
"don't worry about me, i'll be fine." she slipped a glance over her shoulder in the direction of the festival. "you should go back there, zhongli, they need you. what's mid-autumn festival for liyue without you?"
she moved to remove the coat from her shoulders, but a hand wrapped around her wrist stopped her.
"but what's mid-autumn festival without you, my dear friend?"
zhongli regarded her intently, his eyes boring into hers for a second before shifting to focus on his coat.
there was something else in his eyes when they return to hers; it came and went in a flicker. "...keep this on, it's chilly today."
"thanks..." she murmured, her shoulders sinking as she yet again returned her thoughts to her brother.
"aether..." the pain she guarded showed on her face. "will i ever be able to see him again?"
tears started to well up in her eyes once again.
"i'm sorry, zhongli, i'm so sorry..." a quiet sob broke through, "today is supposed to be about the mid-autumn festival, and yet...here you are, listening to me."
zhongli's mouth opened then snapped close.
he always knew what to say whenever she was in a pinch. however, it was tears this time, and he wasn't exactly sure about what he should do about his body's urge to extend his arms out to her.
he was already more than a thousand years old.
as the former geo archon, he was the immovable rock. emotions and impulses he used to hold within himself in his younger days were buried deep under the sands of time...or at least they should be.
so where did this come from? was this strange stir an inevitable part of being a mortal?
"you know what?"
her movement to rise from the spot beside him turned his head back to her.
resolute hardened the glint in her tearing eyes, "i don't want to hold you back any longer,"
her fingers curled into a shaky fist, nails digging into her palm.
"....the people need you. i-i think i should just go bac—"
his hand flew out before he could think any further; his body was faster than his thoughts this time.
her next breath puffed out of her, in surprise and bewilderment as her body was tugged and cocooned by a breathing warmth before she could understand what happened.
and when she did, her eyes flew wide.
cheek pressed against his neck, she found herself held to his chest. she could feel his chin atop her head and his arms around her.
he was beside her a moment ago, and now he was behind sharing the same step as her, broad enough to accommodate them. was she the one who moved? or did he?
she didn't know how but she couldn't find the energy to care —the scent of musk and lingering tea engulfing her was an alluring comfort that made her want to stop trying.
so warm. really, really warm.
and so was his voice. "...but you need me." a hand caressed the back of her head.
there was a pause before a feigned cough ensued. "i meant, this."

Loona is a kwami of Transformation. She is connected to the Wolf Miraculous. With her power, Loona's wearer can use the necklace to transform into a wolf-themed superhero.
Loona and her Miraculous are currently active and owned by Brianna Lockwood, who uses it to transform into the superheroine, Loup Gris.
Personality:
Loona is very loyal to her Miraculous Holders and cares very much about them. Loona is also loyal to Master Fu, the current Guardian of the Miraculous and the one who gave Brianna the Wolf Miraculous. She is calm, sweet, serious and friendly kwami. However, she can be a little mischievous and likes to tease her Holders sometimes. Just like with her past Holders, Loona cares about Brianna and is always willing to help her when she needs it. Sometimes she can be flirty, but only when it comes with Plagg since he flirts with her.
Trivia:
• Loona's name means "moon" in Spanish. However, Loona's name is also translated to "moon" in Romanian.
• Just as Brianna likes to be called Brie and Wolfie; Loona likes to be called Loonie.
• Loona is ticklish, shown when Brianna poked her when they first met.
• Even though Loona's favorite food is strawberries, she's not very picky and is fine with any food. However, similar to wolves, Loona cannot eat chocolate of any kind, or else she would get sick.
• Loona is based on wolves, who are known for guardianship, ritual, loyalty, and spirit, so she is very loyal to her friends, her past owners and Brianna since she cares about them very much.
• She is the second and oldest kwami, having formed when the universe came to be, the first and oldest is Tikki which means the two are long time best friends.
• The Wolf Miraculous was once in the Native American Miracle Box, but after the incident in Tibet, one of the guardians was able to get the miraculous of the wolf to Wang Fu and he kept it hidden until he gave it to Brianna Lockwood, who now became the new holder. It is unknown what type of jewelry it was original looked like, but for now, the wolf miraculous is a necklace.

Wait are you the creator of the Dr Stone His Dark Materials AU? Cool! If so can you tell me what's your inspiration for each characters Daemons?
yes that’s me!! Thank you so much for asking!!! Word Dump ahead
male lion -> Tsuakasa: Inagaki did the work for me, lol. Actually, I like the idea of lions symbolizing a sort of wildness and authority (very "king of the jungle") which fits early manga Tsukasa, but like real lion behavior being pretty chill (like most big carnivores) and just wanting to like hang out with their pride which fits later manga Tsukasa.
albino female king cobra -> Senku: Kinda of three hold reasoning here. In Western mythology, snakes are seen as being teachers of wisdom, specifically mortal wisdom (like obvs Adam and Eve, but also the snakes on the rod of Asclepius). King cobra meanwhile are associated with rulers in certain parts of India. Finally, albino snakes is about the myth of Bai Suzhen from China which is about a snake that gained power/cultivation then used it to repay a human she fell in love with; interestingly the snake in that story has been interpreted as both evil (for going against natural order of the world) and good (for her devotion to the human she loved), which is a fun metaphor for Senku upsetting the status quo (be both Tsukasa's 'live with nature', and the Whyman's 'keep humans mostly statues/stone age'). Finally, I picked a name in mandarin for her bc I like the idea of one of Senku's birth parents being chinese, soley bc there is a VERY stupid pun you can make with 月 (moon, month) radical and the⺼(flesh, body) radical often being written identically (so moon [a space rock] = flesh, just like petri beam).
female dog -> Taiju: his himbo engery is of the charts. (also is a nice helpful good boy who reminds me of a golden retriever)
male orbweaver bird -> Yuzu: I was going to do a spider for her actually, bc of all the cool mythology world-wide connecting spiders and weavers but it turns out mostly female spiders make webs, so I switched to a type of bird that makes really cool nest.
female lion -> Kohaku: Inagaki did all the work on this for me pt.2. She's powerful, very dedicated to her family, and also someone who's not afraid of putting in an enormous amount of effort (since female lions are the ones the hunt).
male Racoon-dog -> Chrome: Intelligent but also a little prone to mischief. Chrome likes collecting things, he's not afraid to totally go and do his own thing or accomplish his goals in his own way! Also (and this is more related to regular raccoons), they are very smart and good at opening trash cans which fits chrome somehow.
Male calico cat -> Gen: This is 50% bc gen exists in my head as the meme "butternut is a master of psychological manipulation", and 50% bc male calico's (despite looking normal) are incredibly rare bc the mechanism of calico coloring typically depends on having 2 X chromosomes. This is fun bc Gen's def the type to play around with gender a bit. Also Gen has always has a lot of color variation (black/white hair, purple in outfit even in b4 cloth got reinvented), so he deserves a colorful daemon.
Female hyena -> Hyouga: The natural enemy of lions, lol. Also they both have a very fun aesthetic and a reputation for being scary but funny.
Male lunar moth -> Ruri: famous for only living long enough to find a mate and pass away. But also a creature that is good at being both beautiful but also very low-key and subtle.
bonus: Not mentioned in story but exist in my heart
Ryuusui: Female Peregrine falcon (only the fastest bird alive for the world's greedest man)
Byakuya: female crow (smart and wise, but prone to pranks)
Lillian: male mockingbird (she's from SE US, so it's a given)
Amaryllis: male betta fish (beautiful and ready to fight!)
Dr. Xeno: female Arizona bark scoprion (did you know scorpions are actually fairly good mentors parents and will carry their young on their backs?)
Stanley: female cotton-mouth (aka the venomous snake that is the bane of SE US waterways)

The Extra and The Humble
Summary: Just me wanting to practice writing Satoshi Isshiki and Terunori Kuga basically (I tried) and giving them some bro-bonding time, SnKimiko-Related
-
Unlike his juniors Soma and Erina who dropped off the surface of earth after graduation, Satoshi Isshiki still presented his face to the culinary high society from time to time.
As soon as Terunori Kuga’s invitation to the Mid-Autumn Festival at Hojo-Ro Tokyo had come, Satoshi had immediately taken the earliest chance to get some shopping done in order to gain appropriate clothes. And when the fateful night arrived he was one of the first guests to show up.
He knew about the fact that the new branch of Yokohoma’s famed jewel of Chinese cuisine was a project between Miyoko Hojo and her husband thanks to a few blogs, but even if he hadn’t known: It very much showed. While the menu consisted of classics of the original restaurant mixed with a wave of new ideas with each of them offering a taste of a different region China’s which very much showed Miyoko’s never-ending pursue to explore it all, the exterior and interior of the restaurant screamed Terunori’s name like he himself would. Everything was grand, extra and, simply put, bombastic. It was more reminiscent of an emperor’s summer residence than a restaurant, urging a gasp out of practically everyone who stood in front of it. Satoshi, however, could only chuckle.
Of course his showy former classmate just had to challenge Hayama Akira and his Mid-Eastern-Palace-like debut restaurant as soon as he could.
Naturally, such an pompous location warranted a pompous party and the celebration had lured a large number of acclaimed chefs, important journalists and whatever else you could ask for. So it took a fair amount of time until the beleaguered host was able to reunite with his former classmate.
“Isshiki!” Terunori exclaimed as he walked towards the brunette man with outstretched arms. “You made it!” Satoshi turned his head, his smile simultaneously growing a little as he greeted the familiar face with his name back from school days. “Kuga, what a pleasure to see you.” When the blonde fellow had arrived in front of him, Satoshi added. “You haven’t change much.”
Terunori grinned in response. “I can say the same about you. All-Smiles and Knight-In-Humble-Amor as you’ve ever been.” He lightly punched his buddy’s arm. “When are ya gonna get out of Polar Star and open some restaurants like the rest of us? Your juniors managed to do so a while ago.”
“I’ll be glad to help you out anytime.” Satoshi replied, nicely as always. “But I think I’ll keep on dedicating my cooking mainly to the aspiring, young chefs that will shape the future. Who knows? Maybe I’ll become just a tiny part of their surely glorious path.”
Terunori yawned. “Oh how noble of you.” He gave Satoshi a slight frown. “I can’t remember you being THAT corny.” Satoshi only laughed.
Terunori eyed him for a second, thinking about just how ridiculous it was to him how the most promising and praised students of the 90th, 91st and 92nd Generation had all chosen to just do nothing with all their talents and inhuman-like abilities that everyone else on school had admired and envied. Rather, Sōma and Erina had disappeared right after graduation, followed suit by Eishi and Rindou who were gone a few years later. But to make a vocal comment about that would require Terunori to both admit openly that Satoshi was the best out of the 91st Generation and, to top it off, praise Soma and Eishi in the same breath. So he decided against it.
"Come on, we'll be getting you some Dim Sum." He therefore said instead while patting the back of the much taller man.
—
A few delicacies and some of Terunori's infamous puns later, the two had found their way outside and into the large garden. Out there, Satoshi was provided with the light of the moon, the zillion lanterns of the restaurant and the screen of Terunori's phone which the owner currently held into his face.
"Isn't she the most lovable, cutest thing you've ever seen?" Terunori said, for what must have been the 6th time. "Look into those amethyst eyes and tell me they're not the eyes of an angel. She is so precious!"
What Terunori was referring to was the camera roll on his mobile that consisted majorly of photos that showed a blonde, 6-moths old baby in various outfits and locations. Just one thing seemed to remain consistent: She looked happy on almost all of them.
Satoshi only nodded and smiled honestly. "She is adorable. I'm happy for you."
"Right?" Terunori began bouncing on the spot. "Right?! I'm so blessed to have her in my life." He turned his phone's screen back to him and gushed with undying love gleaming in his brown eyes. "My baby-girl."
Satoshi's smile grew again, more than happy about his friend's found happiness.
However just then the ends of Terunori's mouth sunk a little bit and he slightly frowned. "Can you believe that my small angel will have to go into school alongside the child of the devil himself?"
"Hm?" Satoshi pulled up an eyebrow, not quite understanding. The answer he received was Terunori holding his mobile back into his face yet again, this time not displaying his young daughter but the page of some gossip-blog and a photo of someone very familiar to Satoshi. "Pigtails is pregnant again! And she'll presumably give birth next month!"
While Terunori complained "My Baby-Girl will be in the same generation as Eizan's spawn", Satoshi studied the rather badly taken photo of the girl he met at the age of four, walking down the street all grown and with one hand protectively resting on her bump. Oh how fast time could pass.
"Who knows?" He said, still looking at Terunori's phone. "Maybe little Suzume and their child will actually get along?"
Terunori gave him his best skeptical look. "I highly doubt that, my ever too optimistic friend." Satoshi only threw his head back and laughed yet again.
A part of him wanted to ask both Terunori and also Nene to put their children into Polar Star once their time for Totsuki had arrived, but he knew his former classmates well enough to know that Terunori would not consider the humble rooms of the dormitory big and grand enough for his little princess, while Nene’s husband Etsuya would most definitely veto the idea of putting his children into the dorm he had been close to destroying in his school days.
He knew, he’d have to watch the descendants of his generation and their, rather differing, trajectories on the academy from the distance, delighted at every similarity to their parents he could spot in them.

Actias dubernardi (also known as the Chinese Moon Moth) is a small silkmoth (approx. 80-120 mm wingspan) native to the cold, mountainous areas of China and Taiwan. The males can range from orange and yellow to orange and bright pink, while the females are typically light green with pink tips. While they are rare and notoriously difficult to breed, their bright colors and beautiful wing shape makes them a popular pet in some circles.
These beautiful moths deserve all the love they get, bless their little hearts! ♥️
