Three simple words could describe your situation perfectly right now: hopeless, but hoping. You had a massive crush on Daniel for so long, ever since you two were younger. How could you not like him? Even though you two used to be friends, you fell in love with so many little things about him. You loved his soft but deep voice when he would speak to you, his adorable nostalgic boy smell, how he could always make you laugh, his many cute facial expressions, how his hair always looked soft and inviting for your fingers to run through (in your head of course), and how you could practically drown in his amazing brown eyes.

Unfortunately, you two grew apart. Or he, grew out of you rather, because as the years went by, Daniel found a new crowd to hang out with. A more “popular” group of friends if you will. Your hopes of him ever admitting to liking you back plummeted because when you’re that high on the social hierarchy, you get judged on everything, including your choice of girlfriend, and you were just regular old Y/N, not popular. Just another face at school. Daniel couldn’t possibly be seen dating a nobody. But there was a time where you thought that he actually did like you. He used to show all the signs of an interest in you, like doing things to try to impress you, flirting with you, staring at you when he thought you weren’t looking, getting embarrassed easily in front of you, and looking for your attention every day of the week. Your friends all told you that those were sure sign that he liked you and that he would ask you out soon, they even noticed it before you told them, but time went by and friends changed, and shortly after, Daniel became unattainable. 

Today at school, you decided that Daniel forgot all about you (even though you have some classes with him), so you tried to set your focus on someone else as a distraction from the rejected feeling in your gut, instead of trying and hoping you’d get his attention. You were at your locker getting some folders out and listening to some music in your own little world until you feel someone rest their hand on your back. Startled from your daydreaming, you jump and turn around holding on to your chest catching your breath, which gets Daniel’s attention from the other side of the hall. He’s now intently watching you.

“Oh sorry (Y/N), I didn’t think you’d get that scared, I was just trying to get your attention,” Jihoon says smiling and chuckling at you. “It’s alright,” you reply while taking your headphones out of your ears, “a tap on the shoulder would have been alright too,” you say jokingly.

“I just get too comfortable with cute girls I guess” he replies back. Hearing him utter the word “cute” got Daniel’s attention even more. He wasn’t even pretending to listen to what his friends were talking to him about anymore. But wait, was this kid hitting on you? You’ve had a couple conversations with him before but you just thought he was overly friendly. This might be what you need. A little confidence booster. Yeah, boys can actually like you and not be ashamed to be with you! He was good looking too which was a bonus. You smirk at him. “Well,” you start, “if it’s the social studies homework you need, I didn’t do it either.”

“No actually, Jinyoung has social studies the first period and he told me that we’re doing presentations next week. Mr, Lee assigned us partners and–”

“You’re my partner?” you ask. He takes a step closer to you and leans on your locker. “Yup.” He says with a smile. “Exciting,” you reply. “It actually really is,” he says, “I have a feeling that our partnership will be really exciting.” He says sort of slowly staring deep into your eyes while pulling a strand of hair behind your ear. You smile at him.The bell rings and you’re on your way to your next class until you bump into Daniel, or he bumped into you... you felt like he did it on purpose. 

“Oh, sorry,” you say.

“Ok.” he says back.

You shoot him a confused look. Ok? Usually, his tone would have been nicer. Now you were forced to start small talk since you were then walking right next to each other in the hall.

“So… how uh– how are you?” you ask.

“ ‘I have a feeling our partnership will be really exciting?’ That’s pretty lame.” Daniel says as he rolls his eyes.

“What are you talking about? Were you eavesdropping on my conversation?”

“You know he doesn’t really like you right? After he said that cheesy line it should have been pretty clear that he only wants one thing from you.”

“What? He was just talking about us being partners being exciting not anything else,” you reply.

“Hah, okay you keep thinking that.” You stop to pull him over in the hall. “What is your deal?” “I just don’t see how you could be so stupid. That guy is just playing around with you, c’mon Y/N.” He answers.

“Wh–, I j-” your face starts to get hot and your eyes start to water and a lump form in your throat. When Daniel notices, he instantly feels the regret of saying what he had said. His mood does a 180, and he grabs your shoulders.

“Oh Y/N, please don’t– please don’t get upset. I forgot how sensitive you were I’m sorry.” He says. “I like you and I don’t want you to be sad.” You look up at him, “what do you mean you like me?”

“I like you enough that I’ll let you like whoever you want. Even Jihoon.”

“Huh?” you ask confused. “You deserve someone who wants to take you out on a nice date every chance they get, hold your doors for you, and hold you when you’re sad not someone like me, no matter how much I want you.”You hesitate for a while and wait for all of this to sink in. You nervously bite your lip and say, “but I want you too.”

“I’m a jealous mess,” he says with a half chuckle. “You can be my mess,” you say. He has a conflicted expression on his face like he’s remembering his obligation to his friends, “I can’t—” “Why? You’re embarrassed by me or something?” you start to say angrily, “do you even really like me? Have you ever?!”

“No, I do like you Y/N!”

“Why? You’re a cool jock or whatever, there are plenty better options Daniel, save yourself the trouble.” You turn to walk away but Daniel grabs your hips and turns you around. “You want to know why I like you? It’s because you’re so fucking physically and mentally attractive at the same time and you can make a shitty day into a great one. That’s why I’m so crazy about you!” he says. He then takes hold of both your hands. “If you don’t hate me yet, I’d like to be that person who gives you all I can.”

You bury your head in his chest, “I could never hate you,” and Daniel holds you and plants kisses all over your head.

Bobby: When you would sing sometimes you would revert back to Dutch without even realizing it. Bobby would be used to it so instead of saying anything about it he would just just wait until his part in the the song came up and he would rap along with you, Korean and Dutch clashing against each other.

B.I./Hanbin: You speaking in your mother tongue was actually a turn on for him cause it was so “exotic” to him and one of your charming points. So when he caught you singing in Dutch he would just sit back and watch you in awe as you sang.
