Do you have any recommendations for gay horror?

*Cheshire cat smile* I do yeah. First off I highly suggest the works of gay film directors who worked in horror: James Whale, Joel Schumacher, Clive Barker, Jane Schoenbrun, Don Mancini, etc. Even if there aren't always explicit gay characters there are queer themes in their films and they are worth examining. Ok list time:

Chlilerama is an anthology flick from a bunch of young filmmakers who are just having a gas. We have sperm monsters, nazi Frankenstein, drive-in zombies, and, my favorite, musical gay werebears from the 50s.

From the "Wadzilla" segment which is way too good to belong in this anthology.

Chillerama, which I just watched, is one that makes me feel shamefaced for saying I loved anything to do with it, but well I really enjoyed that first segment. Although the feature's overall aesthetic is great, reviving the 40's-80's grindhouse movies, pretty much as a tribute to the drive-in era, the rest of it is just as dumb and mysoginist as one can be, even if "subtely". The Hitler one could have worked if it'd made me laugh and if the monster didn't look like Rob Zombie and Star Wars had a kid. "I was a teenage Werebear" was just boring non-sense even though it had some cool nasty scenes that I'll prolly gif. Beyond "Wadzilla", the "Deathication" thing was the most effective thing about this, giving me the instant urge to take a dump. At least I got a giggle outta that.

Dumb, unfunny and for most part just "eh.", this time not in a good way. Except for Wadzilla, again. That alone could be an 8 outta 10. So... still an ok watch for when you were working 'til late last night and your cat wakes you up at 5am so you watch something hopefully stimulant enough to keep you awake til the end (even though you struggled at times) and that doesn't ask for you to use too much of your brain.

So I'll turn you to one of my favs that is absolutely trash, but I love it, and it's free to watch on Tubi. Dr. Giggles is my all-time fav. I've always been a big fan of the scream franchise. The Voices with Ryan Reynolds is interesting. Chillerama is also on tubi and that one is just weird as fuck.
