Character I find most attractive: goddd there are so many hot people in this manga and I'm aroace. it depends on the day but top contenders in no particular order are Kabru, Marcille, Laios, Cithis (see above), and Falin. and we can't not love Kui sensei for giving us the Senshi fanservice the world needed.

Character I would marry: I would marry no one but...objectively speaking? OF COURSE Senshi

Character I would be best friends with: Chilchuck !!

A random thought: The moment where Mithrun cries because "even vegetable scraps have their uses" made me feel like I'd been revived from the dead. dunmeshi is so good.

My canon OTP: canonically no one like. "ends up together" in the super official sense and I'm happy with that! however farcille can count...i think anyways. it's not even coding it's plain as day

Non-canon OTP: like i said, any ship qualifies !

Most badass character: Senshi, because truly what is more badass than caring for the dungeon ecosystem and your friends' health and wellbeing by cooking them a balanced diet out of monsters. all with a single cooking pot too

Pairing I am not a fan of: Izutsumi x anyone. that girl doesn't want a romantic interest nor does she need one <3

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): ...no one? I'm gonna finish my reread soon but I highly doubt I'll find one that I'll think was screwed up

Favourite friendship: The whole party warmed my heart. that hug healed me. ALSO honorary mention to Mithrun and Kabru because again the feeling of being restored and learning to feel again is so real. honorary honorary mention to Izutsumi and the rest of the party because that is the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life

What makes me happy about them: I love how Haori does not fucking hesitate to keep flirting with Ryutaro upon finding out that he is in fact Susato. what a queen

What makes me sad about them: the fact that their reunion in-game occurs when Susato is coming back, rushed, on what she assumes to be a family tragedy; and what she finds instead is Haori having been through a horrifically traumatizing event in her absence. both of these girls trying their best to study and have careers in Meiji Japan. the world makes it so fucking difficult for them.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: it's not so much a specific thing done in fanfic as like, an overarching trend that people tend to fluffify them a ton. i get it they're cute and lighthearted but they're also sixteen-year-olds in a world that is unfair to them. that being said, i also don't like the idea of making them 'tragic' for the drama of it all. let them be happy, but also give them depth basically!

Things I look for in fanfic: i don't read a ton of dgs fic these days but i look for good Haori background and characterization

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Gina, Maria...and that applies to either of them lol

My happily ever after for them: marriage marriage fraud (I can't take credit for this idea, since I first heard it from Seven ofc! but it's so real to me)

YESSS you get it !!! laois is def considered an outcast because he's not social and doesn't do the whole sharing tongues thing and other bonding customs like the others. he weirdly knows more about the anatomy and even the behavior of prey animals, like migration and mating cycles. he'll be like " oh, this week the doves will be exceptionally plump and tasty because of their nesting season " or something like that and everyone's like ummm ok weirdo ,, and side eye him and his unnerving pale eyes. falin and him stick together and no one outwardly bullies them bc while weird, laois is considered a " good warrior " and hunter and does his fair share of the warrior duties. but he probably won't ever get an apprentice. falin is treated a bit more like a saintly figure because of her visions and connection to starclan, so the others are polite, but not necessarily seeking friendships with either of them.

and ooo yes kabru is exceptional at reading others and negotiating. i'm not sure what would work better for this au, if they're all in one clan or separate!! and oooo yes and marcille def tends to her fur and pays more attention to her appearance and likes cute accessories! someone else said this, but itsuzumi's name def stays the same as well.

i loveee your ideas for chilchuck and they def all think he's wayy too young ( and small ) to be a warrior. i really think it'd be interesting to implement all the age and biological differences of the races, but i feel like it'd be a bit difficult since they're all technically cats.

i adore the suffixes seer and sight !!! and i def think some form of feather or owl would be perfect for falin. i think having her new form would be so cool but i'd have no idea how to incorporate it into the world without adding more fantasy and magical elements, same with thistle ,,, and oh !! the high council elves would be so cool, i think that's what they're called, but they'd need to be like ,, caracals or something idk a different feline to show their power / status ??

his ears too big for his gotdamn head ,,, oh squirrel chilchuck you mean sm to us already ,, idk what would be better, his suffix a play on his true personality, like caring too much for others, or what others believe him to be; selfish and wily

++ also also the overall plot i guess would be them going on a journey to save marcille but my brain is not big enough for that magnitude of world building

i like mashing my interests together and rn that's dungeon meshi and warrior cats walk with me here ,,, laois is def a pale ginger tabby and he's generally kind and a good warrior but they find him ,,, unnerving. in this world i would say he has a fascination with other predators like owls and foxes and examining their behavior as well as untraditional creatures like insects and wanting to try them all.

senshi is a heavy set and short warrior with broad shoulders and a darker color palette. idk if i want tabbies everywhere. he and laois are considered weird and they hangout together experimenting new " dishes "

laois would def have the prefix ' lion ' but im still stuck on the suffix,,, lionblaze would be so cool for him if it wasn't taken already. senshi I'm blanking on names and chillchuck im stuck between fox or squirrel

marcille would be an alchemist and hate that laois and senshi take all the important herbs to create weird dishes like stop adding them to the fresh-kill !!!! weirdos !!! i like fawn or doe for her prefix cause she reminds me of one but idk still brainstorming !! falin hmmm she's the healer but im blanking on names for her,, i think matching with laois would be cute like maybe they're both named after big cats?

idk where izutsumi fits in cause she's already a cat and also im anime-only rn so i don't really know her !! maybe she's a different creature altogether?

also i wish warrior cats had more magic and fantasy elements to it idk why. i vividly remember thinking ' monsters ' meant actual magical monsters and twolegs were some weird, humanoid wizard creatures idk
