Shit shit shit shit shit
I knew it, I fucking knew it,
They were looking for me, what if because of that they-
The latest call was from Chee,
*ring*
pls be ok pls be ok pls answer pls please
*ring*
Chee please tell me that you're ok please
*ring*
I'm so sorry for not being there for you, I couldn't find you, there were too many people and...
*ring*
I'm so sorry. Chee.
...
"The number that you have-"
...
"Slushi, that- that doesn't mean anything y'know. Like her phone could have lost battery like yours. She will be fine, she's a really tough cat and she has Cofi by her side."
Milkshek words failed to reassure me.
I think she could tell.
I felt my tears seeping out again.
Milkshek hugged me tight.
"I'm so scared.. that.. that.." I stuttered through my tears.
"It's ok. I understand, Slushi." Milkshek replied softly.
"I hear something." Old Pea interrupted.
A gentle scraping outside. I hadn't really noticed it until Old Pea pointed it out.
I turned to look outside.
It was climbing.
IT WAS CLIMBING.
I shrieked, "EVERYONE! WE NEED TO GO NOW!"
I ripped the charger off, still attached to my phone like an umbilical cord.
Milkshek opened the door, a set of stairs revealed themselves.
I continued. "Down there! Exit through the front door!"
Suddenly, I felt my pocket vibrate.
It was my phone!
My excitement piqued.
"Fwench Fwy!" I was so relieved.
"SLUSHI BEHIND YOU!"
Milkshek's yell echoed between the empty corners.
I turned and shut the door. I saw a glimpse of something by the window. The stench was atrocious.
The phone continued to vibrate.
We flew down the stairs into the pit of darkness below.
Fwench Fwy's voice flooded in. "Slushi! Are you there? Don't worry, Sody is in good hands, he's completely safe with me and Iscream. Everything will be ok-"
"SODY?" I felt so light, my tension released.
"Where are you now?" I asked frantically.
"Sody?" Milkshek gasped. "Is he alright?"
"I'm sorry." Fwench Fwy mumbled, their guilt of rambling transfered through the screen. "Are you guys safe?"
"It's ok. We're safe for now." I reassured. "Just tell me where you guys are."
"The light switch doesn't work here." Old Pea commented.
We turned on our flashlights.
"I'm sorry. We're at your house." Fwench Fwy answered.
A creaking noise above. It is advancing downstairs.
Milkshek turned to me concerned. "Slushi, the front door is blocked."
I turned to look at it, a couch and a bookshelf, sandwiched against the door.
"You.. y-you.. ok over there?" French Fwy could sense the urgency.
"Who are you talking to?" Sody. It was him.
"SODY POP!" I blurted in relief.
"Is that Slushi?" Sody asked.
"Uhh.. Of course, Sody!" The sudden change in Fwench Fwy's tone to bubbly and cheerful as if nothing was wrong jarred me.
"Can I talk to her?" he asked.
"Oh.. um.. of course!" they stammered through their reply.
I muted the call again. Books trickled down the shelves as we pulled at them. I felt the pain of each story, each world, falling to the ground.
"Hello, when are you coming back?" Sody asked.
I don't think he knows.
Should I continue the lie?
Is it the right thing to do?
...
"Oh, I will be a little late, y'know.." I trailed off, forcing myself to sound enthusiastic, squeezing my phone between my head and neck.
"Ok! I made a new OC and I want to show you so be back soon ok?" Sody sounded so excited.
"Ok, I promise Sody. I bet it looks amaaaaaazinggg, can't wait to hear its crazy backstory and lore!" I replied, genuinely interested.
"Ye." Sody replied.
I muted the call once again. The bookshelf toppled. Echoes of its fall broke the atmopshere.
Fwench Fwy's voice chipped in. "Sody, aren't ya supposed to be sleeping. Staying up so late will make you reaaalllyy tired t'morrow and we can't have that, can we?"
A shape descended at the stairs. The stench was intoxicating.
"Fine. You're so boring!" Sody grumbled.
I heard a door close on the other side of the call.
Compared to the bookshelf, the couch was light work, and it was quickly peeled off the door.
"So, where uhh.. are you right now?" Fwench Fwy asked.
"I'm in a.. house..." I started.
It hit me.
"Someone was hiding in here." I realised. Why else would there be so much effort to barricade the door. "They might still be here."
"Wh- WOAH WAIT!" Fwench Fwy answered, growing in concern. "...Maybe.. they aren't in there anymo-"
My phone went back to its coma.
"Dammit." I swallowed any swears.
"Slushi, don't tell me.." Milkshek knew what I was going to do.
"I'm not going to leave them behind." I answered.
I let go of her hand and went back in.

[Image ID: (Note : The original dialogue was coloured so y'know who was speaking, but that's kinda impossible here so I've added a few more sentences here and there, that way, you'll get to know who's talking!)
Milkshek resisted. "I won't leave you behind."
"It's ok. I'm a newt, I can climb this." Old Pea reassured.
Milkshek kneeled down and gently carressed his head with a kiss.
It's clear that I'm the tallest.
"Right, I guess I'll climb up and break the window, then I'll pull you in. " I explained.
It was hard to speak through that noxious fog of sweetness.
Milkshek climbed onto Old Pea.
I turned my head.
Big mistake. I saw the tangled mess of skin flopping in its own filth and fluids, inching closer and closer.
I swallowed my puke and climbed.
I pressed against the glass.
"Here goes nothing." I said to myself.
I bashed the window as hard as my body would let me with the rifle end. A mist of glass flew into the air, I felt them injected into all over my flesh, slipping under my closed eyelids. It burns like hell.
I pulled myself upwards and rolled into a sea of glass.
I felt them pull and tug against my flesh, like millions of paper cuts all over my body. Every movement dragged and pulled at the glass in my skin. I saw red everywhere. It was from me. I can barely keep my eyes open, but closing them makes the pain worse. It felt unreal, but I couldn't scream, not now.
I quickly sweeped the mist away and turned to pull Milkshek, a shard in my neck squirmed in my skin. Old Pea pushed her upwards.
"Babe!" Milkshek shouted.
The thing was way larger than I realised.
It was towering, still progressing at that ever mind numbing constant pace.
Old Pea was already by the window, his hands slipping around the window sill.
We each took both his hands and raised him in.
Milkshek pressed against a switch, light floods and blinds the room.
...
Milkshek stared and gasped.
"Slushi, you're bleeding!"
I looked down, red lined my fur and the ground below. I hadn't even realised the extent of my injury.
Old Pea laid down his backpack and took out a box.
"Hold still." He mumbled, pulling out a pair of tweezers and a bottle of iodine.
Wait, TWEEZERS???!!!! Shit!!
"WAIT! Do we really have to do this?" The words flowed out of my mouth in fumbled panic.
"The wound may get infected." Old Pea replied coldly.
"Slushi, please. Just bear with it, for a while, ok?" said Milkshek.
"Yeah! I can do that, Yeah!" I replied, forcing down my sense of fear.
I can feel my sweat building up in my fur.
"Yeah! Yeah!" I repeated, as if that will make me feel better somehow.
Old Pea turned on a lighter and placed his tweezers under the flame.
It kicked in, I can't breathe. The flame, its's heat, its taunting me. I swallowed as hard as I could. I wished that this moment would last forever, that the imevitable would not come.
I let out a scream.
"WAIT!!!"
I struggled to breathe. I kneeled over, I felt stings in my chest.
"Slushi." Milkshek sat next to me. "You can do this, I believe in you."
I cannot let my friends down.
I slowed down my breath and stared.
"I understand. Let's do this." I replied.
Old Pea nodded, and pulled at the first shard. I felt the shard being ripped off from its tight hug on my flesh. Suddenly, I felt a sharp stab as a cloth made contact. I gritted against my canines.
He moved on to the next one, the one in my neck.
My tears washed away the dust of glass in my eyes.
It felt like forever.
Pain increasing exponentially every time.
"Done." he signalled.
I moved, relief. Air carved in and out of my wounds. A few microshards still writhe in my skin but I felt much better.
"Thank you." I sighed.
I looked around. A bed, books, a computer, all pristine as if time had froze. A family potrait, three kids.
A charger laid on the desk.
"My phone." I realised.
I picked up and shoved it against my phone.
"IT FITS!" I screamed in excitement.
Milkshek gasped.
"Now I need to find a plug, plug, plug..." I scanned every object in the room. I saw it, under the desk. I let out my excitement and relief.
"PLUG!"
"Do any of you have your phones?" I turned to ask.
"Mine... was destroyed." Milkshek mumbled.
"I don't have one." Old Pea replied.
"Wait, you don't?" I turned on the switch, I felt my phone vibrate in response.
"He only uses a PC for streams." Milkshek answered.
A light emitted from my phone.
+99 missed calls.

[Image ID: (Note : The original dialogue was coloured so y'know who was speaking, but that's kinda impossible here so I've added a few more sentences here and there, that way, you'll get to know who's talking!)
The gate screeched and heaved with pain.
Silence.
For my friends. For Sody.
Streetlights kept the flooding darkness at bay, their lights sung melancholically alone. Gaps of alleyway toyed with us. It was torture. I felt my heart pressing against my chest for every sound, every change. I can't hear any birds, any wind.
What if I'm too late? What if I am responsible for them turning into those... zombies? They might have been looking for me, and.. Sody. He- he must have been so terrified. What if- when I return home, I would see.. I would see... something else.
Because of me.
His final moments.
I felt my paws glued to my rifle.
"Hey, um, yeah.." C'mon, Slushi. Think of something to say stupid.
"Yeah?" Milkshek asked.
"Y'know... I guess I had just noticed but, why was the door unlocked?" I squeezed a question out.
"Oh that." Milkshek responded. "I was waiting for the mailman to arrive." She turned to Old Pea. "My man bought me this silllyyyyyy plushie of Evil Cannibal Guy. But I guess...
...it's not arriving now."
Old Pea caressed her hand tightly.
It almost seemed like everything was normal for a while there.
"I.. remember Evil Cannibal Guy, haha. That was such a cheesy movie." I dragged.
We turn the corner. Pitch black. But this was the way I went. I heaved and stepped first.
"Hold on, Old Pea has flashlights." Milkshek said.
Turning on flashlights felt like screaming to everything that hungers, that we were here. I tried to glimpse beyond the shouts, into the void beyond.
Nothing.
I heard everything, sighs and swallows and the force in my chest, the crunching of dried leaves and grass beneath our feet.
Occasionally, a vague shape in the distance would arise only to reveal themselves as something not scary at all.
Dumpster.
A flowerpot.
Pipes.
Electrical box.
It moved.
IT MOVED.
I instantly primed myself. I felt my paws glued by sweat. A light moved to it.
Nothing.
"Slushi. You saw that thing move, right?" Milkshek whispered shakily.
I smelt it, a faint sweet scent in the air, like that disgusting liquid medicine for kids.
"It's ok." I replied, trying to sound reassuring. "I won't let anyone be hurt."
I waved my flashlight wildly.
Nothing but tufts of grass between concrete and white walls.
The noxious stench of flowers, diarrhoea and rust grew and grew. It was approaching.
I opened my arms to contain Old Pea and Milkshek. I need to be brave for their sakes.
"I see it." Old Pea declared.
He shone the light on a shape close to us.
Clothing bloated and writhing within, dark fluids stabbed their way through the fabric. Strands of skin overstretched over large dark bubbles growing popping and growing again. Froth seeped from the tearing seams of flesh and towering, flowing, weaving into each other and into the abyss.
Looking at it makes my head hurt.
Old Pea raised his hand to motion us to pause. I understood why.
"If we shoot too close, the goo will splash." I translated.
Old Pea nodded.
The sting in my throat rose again, I tried not to puke as hard as I can. That... thing. It was advancing at such a soft pace that it was almost like a statue.
Dead silent. That thing was dead silent.
"I'll make sure the thing behinds us stays behind us." I turned to face it.
We paced back hurriedly, my back rubbed against them a couple of times from walking too fast.
Suddenly, I crashed into them. They had stopped.
I turned around.
White concrete wall.
Dead end.
I heard Milkshek's voice.
"Up there?"
I turned around, Old Pea was pointing towards a window on the wall.
"I'll help you two up there." Old Pea replied.
The scent grew and grew. I turned. A shape in the distance.
It was already here.

Chapter 1 - Disconnected
Expiry Date (Chikn Nuggit Infection AU Fanfic)
POV : Slushi
Read Chapter 2 here
[Image ID: (Note : The original dialogue was coloured so y'know who was speaking, but that's kinda impossible here so I've added a few more sentences here and there, that way, you'll get to know who's talking!)
"The number you dialed have been disconnected or is no longer in service." My phone declared monotonously.
what. what happened.
My instincts kicked in.
Danger. Everything screams wrong.
I was running. I can't think. I feel the air playing with my dress, failing to distract me. Where was Old Pea's mansion. Did he hurt her? I knew something was wrong. Is she safe. What if she's not. What if she-
I didn't even realised how out of breath I was until the golden gates of his mansion blocked my impending path.
Climb. Climb. Climb. I can feel my mouth becoming so dry from the air wheezing out. I feel my dress pulled and tugged.
Suddenly I landed.
What am I doing. Overreacting again. I abandoned everyone at the party for no actual reason. I just trespassed.
A loud ring broke the silence, I felt the pulsation of my phone. It didn't open. The pulsation was to tell me that it was shutting down. I stared at myself.
"Crud." I blurted out of instinct.
I dragged the door open. Furniture torn with scratches, vase shards, the TV plays to nobody.
My fear is real.
Milkshek is in danger.
What if I am too late.
"Milkshek!" I yelled.
A sound.
A shape.
That's not Milkshek.
It's not Old Pea.
I can't move.
What the fuck is that.
It has the shape of a ferret, it looks like a dehydrated stone, its wrinkles, they pulsate and shift under gaps in its skin and and rise out, like multiple convection currents of skin. It tried to scream I can tell, its mouth sealed shut by incoming skin.
My entire body shook by itself.
Its head has burst.
Blood fountained out periodically, black goo flew and stuck against the walls and ceiling like gum. I can see its spine. It's eyes. It saw me and I saw it.
Milkshek.
She shot it.
I think Old Pea was behind her.
The smell, it was sweet. So sweet. The intense rust, decomposing garbage, shit, refrigerator smell, I can't describe.
I felt it all flowing out of my mouth.
I think I went outside, I can't remember.
My heart, it's trying to escape. Air. Air.
Too fast, too deep. My ribs. Cannot focus.
Old Pea was there. He gave me a bag.
"Breathe in.... breathe out." His voice said to me.
"Slushi." Milkshek stood there, her hands were gripping onto a rifle rock solid, trembling. She was crying. Old Pea shifted his attention understandably.
"Ok Slushi. Maybe this was just another one of your silly nightmares of yours. This LITERALLY feels like the beginning of some craaazzyy infection AU fanfic plot. Yeah, all a dream. That's what it is." I feel myself laughing.
Milkshek stared at me.
I squeezed against my paw with my finger. It refuses to pass. I was awake. Wide awake.
"Oh, who am I kidding. This is real, isn't it." I admitted.
I hugged my bff. I felt her shiver, like ripples on a lake. I held her tighter. I felt her tears caressing my fur.
"I was so terrified that something happened to you." I told her, trying to contain myself.
"M-m-me too" Milkshek stuttered in tears.
She cried harder.
Pea held her hand. I felt the tinge of guilt for doubting him.
The party.
My friends.
Sody.
"I'm sorry. I need to go." I blurted.
Milkshek strangled my hand.
Sody was at home, alone. Alone. I left him alone. My friends. Are they safe, were they looking for me? What if they had been looking for me and I was the reason why- What if Sody. No no nono no no no no nono no no no
"Slushi. Please. It's not safe." Milkshek rebutted in desperation.
"But what about my friends?" I replied.
...
"If you have to go then we are going with you." She answered.
Old Pea nodded. He turned his back and trudged away.
"They'll be ok. I promise." she held my hands again.
"Yeah... Y'know, I'm usually the one who reassure others, haha. I guess it feels nice for a change." I replied softly.
Old Pea emerged, in his hands another rifle, one almost twice his size.
"Woah, how many of these do you have?" I exclaimed, genuinely shocked.
Old Pea shrugged.
I stared at the gate between here and the outside. Fear held me, but I let it go with a deep sigh.
"Well then, let's do this!" I convinced myself.
