i always get excited when people are introduced to sm for the first time until i remember that subplot from season 2 that i forget about constantly because i refuse to acknowledge it as canon. so basically, uh, i'm just putting this warning under the cut for ick and because it's a spoiler if you haven't watched/read s.ailor m.oon ( this is mostly for sam. hi sam. LMAO ).

so in season 2 ( or second arc of the manga ), there's a general subplot where chibiusa is basically implied to have an elektra complex towards mamoru. in the og anime, it's used as a "haha funny" running gag that chibiusa wants to steal mamoru from usagi which is weird in and of itself, and thankfully that aspect was toned down in crystal — but when chibiuas is corrupted into becoming black lady, she declares mamoru ( who is brainwashed ) is hers and kisses him.

i hate it. the fandom hates it. we all hate it. i don't acknowledge it in any capacity. but it's an unfortunate thing that happens in every iteration of this fucking franchise so the warning felt needed. -_-
