Synopsis In 1972, Misaki, a popular student of Yomiyama North Middle School’s class 3-3, suddenly died partway through the school year. Since then, the town of Yomiyama has been shrouded by a fearful atmosphere, from the dark secrets hidden deep within.

In 1998, Kouichi Sakakibara, a 15-year-old student transfers into class 3-3 of Yomiyama North Middle School and soon after discovers that a strange, gloomy mood seems to hang over all the students.

He also finds himself drawn to Mei Misaki, a mysterious and eyepatch-wearing student whom classmates and teacher seemingly ignore her. Paying no heed to warnings from everyone including Mei herself, Kouichi begins to get closer not only to her, but also to the truth behind the gruesome phenomenon plaguing class 3-3 of Yomiyama North Middle School.

This anime follows Kouichi, Mei and their classmates as they are pulled into the enigma surrounding a series of inevitable and tragic events, but unraveling the horror of Yomiyama may just cost them the ultimate price.

Kōichi Sakakibara =Un joven de 15 años, que acaba de ser transferido al "Yomiyama del Norte", en Yomiyama. Está en la Clase 3-3. Debido a un ataque de Neumotorax tuvo que ser hospitalizado justo antes del inicio de clases.

Mei Misaki = Una joven de aproximadamente 15 años que está en la Clase 3-3 del "Yomiyama del Norte". Lleva un parche en el ojo izquierdo debido a que tiene un ojo de muñeca. Tiene una actitud diferente a la del resto de la clase. Kōichi la conoce en un ascensor del hospital Y��migaoka.

Yōsuke Sakakibara = Padre de Kōichi. Un profesor universitario que se encuentra haciendo una investigación en la India.

Reiko = Tía de Kōichi por parte de Ritsuko. Estuvo en la clase 3-3 hace 15 años. Ella le da consejos a su sobrino para poder vivir en Yomiyama. Al final se descubre que es la profesora Mikami y que ademas, ella es la extra de ese año, puesto que ya estaba muerta, debido a que la asesinaron un año y medio antes de la serie.

Ritsuko = La difunta madre de Kōichi. Murió hace 15 años, después de dar a luz a Kōichi. Ella era una estudiante de la clase 3-3 y compañera de Misaki Yomiyama.

Sr. Kubodera Profesor de la clase 3-3, se suicida frente a los alumnos.

Naoya Teshigawara = Compañero de la clase 3-3 y amigo de Kōichi. Él lo llama "Sakaki

Tomohiko Kazami =  Compañero de la clase 3-3 y amigo de Kōichi. Él es uno de los delegados de clase.

Yukari Sakuragi = Alumna de la clase 3-3. Ella es una de las delegadas de clase. Muere al tropezarse en las escaleras y clavársele un paraguas en el cuello.

Izumi Akazawa = Es la jefa de las contramedidas (encargada de manejar la situación de la clase 3-3 con respecto de la maldición) es compañera y amiga de Sakuragi Yukari.Muere al ser atravesada por los vidrios de una ventana al romperse.

Yūya Mochizuki = Alumno de la clase 3-3 y miembro del Club de Arte. Es amigo de Koichi y mantiene una profunda amistad con "Sakaki".Parece atraerle la profesora Mikami.

Tatsuji Chibiki .= Bibliotecario a cargo de la sala de la biblioteca N º 2. Fue el maestro de la clase 3-3 del "primer año", el año Misaki Yomiyama murió.

Misaki Yomiyama = Un estudiante con honores de la clase 3-3 año 1972. Murió en un accidente no especificado, haciendo que sus compañeros de clase negaran su muerte.

Sanae Mizuno = Enfermera en el Hospital Yūmigaoka. Ella trata de ayudar a Kōichi en desentrañar el misterio hasta cierto punto. Su hermano menor está en la clase 3-3. Muere aplastada en un ascensor del hospital cuando este falla y cae.

Ikuo Takabayashi  = esta en clase de arte y muere de un ataque al corazón a causa de la calamidad.

Misaki Fujioka =Presentada por primera vez como la "otra mitad" de Mei y mas tarde como su prima, era la persona a la que Mei fue a entregarle la muñeca a la morgue del Hospital. Ella era en realidad la hermana gemela de Mei, criadas por separado luego de su nacimiento, aunque eventualmente se conocieron.Tiene una personalidad mas alegre que Mei. Ella murió de leucemia en abril, lo que la convierte en la primera muerte de la calamidad ese año.
