To be honest with you, I did start thinking it but then never ended up completing it so it's just an idea.

Concept:

Basically a forbidden romance with some arrange marriage royalty fic. A fic set up in the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, where two states who have some grudges against each other need to be united in order to form an allyship which will turn tides in the struggle for Swarajya. One is a queendom, whose queen is steadfast, strong, and doesn't have a healthy familial relationship with anyone except Chhatrapati Maharaj. The other is a Kingdom, whose king is stubborn, passionate and has issues with being manipulated by the women in his family and thinks of Chhatrapati Maharaj as his Mentor. Their love for their country is what leads them to marry but their love for their states is also an obstacle in their way to find love with each other. He falls first, she falls harder.

Her eyes are big, the dark brown that both of their fathers shared. She looks exceptionally like her mother, her nose long and cheeks hollow. "Didi," she whispers with a smile, her crooked teeth showing. "I dreamt that I am alive."

"You are," Mihira tells her, feeling the sharpness of her own canines dig into the inside of her lips as she lies. "You are, my dearest."

Shaili raises her hand towards Mihira again, caressing her cheeks again. "Why are you crying, then?" Shaili's hand is covered in blood.

Mihira doesn't have an answer for Shaili. Her precious, curious sister. Always chasing questions. Mihira twists Shaili around in her lap until she can see her completely and holds her face in both of her hands. Shaili's face is so small. Mihira brushes her thumbs at Shaili's cheekbones, with a promise of tenderness that she rarely finds from her own mother.

Mihira chuckled. "My prince," she said softly,"what do you carve from stone, if not idols of gods?"

He kept sitting as his eyes flickered up to look at her, his long lashes even more pronounced as she stood up and found herself closer to him that she would have assumed.

He smirked at her. "Why, of course, Devi. Stone is also used to make walls of prison."

"There is no beauty in prison, my prince." She said, just as softly as before, eyebrow arched at his persistent argument. He would name love anything but devotion.

For the first time in months, Mihira saw a smile curl up on the lips of the second prince, a smile of triumph and satisfaction and exhilaration and anticipation in one. "There is beauty in everything if it is made of love."

"The most beautiful art made of love can be idols, do you not agree? Have you seen the arch of the eyebrows, the wrinkles of smiling eyes, the alta coloured palms, the hooded eyes of our idols?" She asked him, turning away to look at the city, crossing her arms across her abdomen and her fingers brushed against a scar at her ribs.

Rukmanetra stood too, and, Mihira saw him brush a finger against his hip. He turned to look at her instead of looking at the city. "And have you seen a sculptor in love, Devi? The arch of a neck, the veins in hands, the closed eyes, the drape of saree on a statue? A person frozen in time, because of love."

"The same hands that make a statue of their paramore also make an idol of our goddess. Tell me, do both of them not breath of love?" She asked, unwilling to be led away from the main argument. Mihira wondered if someone would ever love her to the point of art.

Rukmanetra's smile widened and he countered,"A caress made to carve the waist of a lover's statue is much more different than the careful eye made to maintain the perfection in the curve of the elbow of a goddess, Devi."
