One of my Chestervelle headcanons is that Dean likes to cuddle Jo when they're sleeping, but Jo can't sleep when she's being held and will lie there for hours while Dean snores right next to her ear. After many sleepless nights, they both decided that Jo should be the one cuddling and Dean should be the pillow, since then she can just roll over if she feels trapped. This worked a little too well because now they sleep like this all the time:

The headcanon I've been mostly stuck on here lately is the fact that Jo likes to dance. Dean hates it though and honestly, he sucks at it. It takes a lot for Jo to get him to let go of his pride and just let loose. Including lots of whiskey and a promise of getting laid. He gives in eventually and she plays REO for their first dance. She makes him feel comfortable and they have the best time just cutting it up on the dance floor together.

Also, I can't get over the headcanon that is Jo's hair thing. She likes Dean playing with/brushing her hair.

British Men of Letters Eileen went through the program to be a BMoL because her grandfather was one, which made her a legacy. She excelled in the program but when she got to the test requiring her to kill her classmate, she refused. She washed out of the program and Lady Toni Bevell took her place. Bevell is her rival and she may have had past relations with Ketch as the three of them were all in the program together.

Apocalypse world Eileen spent time in a human concentration camp run by angels after the apocalypse.

High school or College Eileen Eileen goes to school with Sam or Gabriel. If in college, she is majoring in anthropology.

Main verse: Jo was resurrected almost as soon as she died in season 5. She was brought back by Zachariah in hopes of using her against Dean somehow, but he never got the chance so he left her stranded in Australia with amnesia. She was taken in by an elderly aboriginal man who retrained her as a hunter. Later on, she was bitten by a vampire and turned, but she has vowed to never take a human life. Options for canon seasons are seasons 8-14, with 14 being the default.

Jonah verse: Back story same as main verse, but always begins in season 8 and is in conjunction with Eileen and Hannah.

College or High school Jo: Any college verses involve Jo majoring in criminology.

Season three Jo: Jo was MIA during season three of Supernatural, she was traveling the country continuing her training as a hunter, this is her story.

Apocalypse Jo: Jo tried her best to stop the apocalypse, but, along with Charlie, she helped lead the resistance against the angels.

this is similar to the chestervelle sleep routine but how do you think jo and dean would sleep in a physical aspect? like, would they cuddle, what sleeping positions are most comfortable for them, stuff like that. thank you and i hope this makes sense!

This is how I always picture them sleeping! Either one way or the other. I think typically Dean is the big spoon, but that isn't to say he always is ;) lol. He likes being the little spoon, though he'd never admit it. But yeah! I think they're very snuggly 💖

who falls asleep faster, dean or jo. also what are their bedtime rituals/needs? noise, temperature, etc.

Oh ABSOLUTELY Dean. Unless he is going thru it, he's out not long after his head hits the pillow. Which is very annoying to Jo personally, because it takes her a little while to fall asleep.

Dean is like a cactus, meaning he needs fuck all. Like. Growing up on the road, having to sleep in the car and in different places all the time, I think noise and comfort level is not an issue for him at this point. Obviously he prefers his memory foam mattress (it remembers him) but he can fall asleep anywhere. Similarly, Jo grew up living above a bar so I don't think noise is an issue for her either, I think a lack of noise is a problem for her. She needs Something. TV works.

I think she's used to a certain level of comfort though and it's hard to get used to sleeping somewhere new at first, especially uncomfortable motel beds.

Temperature I think is something they argue over. Dean likes it on the warmer side, Jo likes it on the colder side. Eventually they compromise (Jo's way) and keep it colder which gives Dean an excuse to snuggle with her to keep warm.

I've said this before but when it comes to bedtime, I think Dean's like a dog in the way he just plops down and sleeps. I don't think he has a ritual, he's just out like a light. But I think Jo likes to watch TV or read before bed (it depends on her mood) and Dean sometimes will join her and watch whatever she's watching or read with her before he falls asleep

If they went, it would certainly be Jo's idea. Dean would have so many problems with Starbucks oh my gosh. He'd try to order a large black coffee to-go and it'd be a whole ordeal. They don't have larges, they have grande or venti, they'd say. They'd ask him if he wants it brewed or Americano. It's too pricey. All around, he is Annoyed by the end of it and grumbling about it for awhile afterwards

Jo would get (depending on the weather) either a chocolate cream cold brew if it's hot out or a cinnamon dolce latte any other time of year

Dean wouldn't admit how good the coffee is because he's too annoyed about everything else that happened

Just so you know Dean sentimental Winchester has a box filled with everything Jo's ever given him and little mementos from special dates they've had. A ketchup packet from the diner where they had their first date. A bullet from the date when they did target practice. A matchbook from the motel where they slept together for the first time. Etc. <3

Stanley is a Bracco Italiano, my current hc (which is subject to change as with all of my headcanons lmao) is that Jo went home to see her mom, and one of their neighbors has hunting dogs and just had a litter and Jo just couldn't resist! Could you blame her?

Jo is Stanley's favorite. He follows her everywhere and sleeps at her feet. He loves Dean too, but Jo is his person.

He's playful, energetic, can be stubborn and aloof, but still loyal, and affectionate 💖

We know that Jo doesn't like to be called her full first name but I think it sounds different coming from Dean. He doesn't say it often, so it's really meaningful when he does. I wrote this years ago but I love it so much:

He says it in endearment, or in worry, but never in anger. It's reserved for intimate moments between them and gently carried. It slips past his lips softly, for her ears only.

Back to roadtrip thoughts, omg absolutely they take turns driving and argue over directions. Dean is a know-it-all about it cause he's been driving around the country his whole life and refuses to use Google maps or waze or whatever (even when Jo tells him the GPS says it's faster, he doesn't believe that) he still uses paper maps

And when she's driving he's telling her which roads she should take and drives her crazy about it

See, here's the thing. Valentine's day stumps me every time I try to think about it because while I can't see them having a super lovey-dovey traditional Valentine's day cause that's just not their day-to-day relationship, we know Jo is a romantic because of 2x05 Simon Said when she played the deeply romantic love ballad, Can't Fight This Feeling for Dean. So, how would she feel about Valentine's day? Would she want to celebrate or would she think it's cheesy? Arguably, Can't Fight This Feeling could be seen as cheesy, so how cheesy is she romantically?

Lydia knows this, but I like the idea I call Romance Roulette where Jo likes the concept of having a day of romance but doesn't like the expectations and obligation of it because everyone's doing it, so instead Dean picks a random day in February to treat her to a day of romance. Every year it's a different day of the month, so she never knows when to expect it and she loves it.

I like that idea cause it's the best of both worlds and seems very them. Fun and untraditional spontaneity. Their first date was like that, Dean's proposal was like that, (both of which I've written I just need to, you know, finish them... story of my life)

Today, I think they still exchange cards like say oh, I don't know, these that totally didn't make me emotional at all looking at and thinking about:

And Dean still gets her a bouquet of sunflowers (her favorite) and they have a tradition of cozying up and watching a romcom that night 💖 but the real day of romance doesn't start til later in the month, this is just the beginning

What do you think Jo would do for Dean after he had a really bad nightmare?

Omg omg omg okay so I actually think about this all the time.

I don't remember if you've read this but for anyone interested, I have a short and sweet fic on this!

So, an important thing she's learned is to give him space when he doesn't want to talk about things, nightmares included. But she knows better than to just leave him alone with his thoughts, so she keeps him company, keeps him grounded with gentle touches, and tries to keep him at least somewhat engaged. It doesn't matter what she talks about, it distracts him. Sometimes, if he's not all that shaken up by the nightmare, she asks him about one of his special interests, getting him to explain something to her, and that takes his mind off it. Typically, he will tell her about it the next morning/day to some degree. He may not go into full detail every time, but at the very least, she gets the Cliff Notes version. With one exception, he never talks about Hell nightmares.
