Calix: YOU NEED TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO ME INSTEAD OF BEING AT THE HOSPITAL!
Korey: I WOULDN'T HAVE TO SPEND SO MUCH TIME AT THE HOSPITAL IF YOU STOPPED INSISTING ON FIGHTING EVERYONE WHO COMES WITHIN A FIVE FOOT RADIUS OF YOU!

*Amber recording whilst Jemma and Calix are arguing*
Jemma: HOLD UP, HOLD UP, HOLD UP, HOLD UP!! HER SISTER WAS A WITCH, RIGHT? AND WHAT WAS HER SISTER? A PRINCESS! THE WICKED WITCH OF THE EAST, BRO!
Amber: *wheezes like a tea kettle*

Sammy : Can I go to the pool?
Calamity: Sure, we’ll go as soon as I’m free.
Sammy : No, can I go by myself?
Calamity: You don’t want to go with me?
Sammy : You just go around challenging random people to cannonball contests.
Calamity: It’s the only way to establish dominance.
—————————-—————————-———————
Calix: I bet you’re wondering why I gathered you here today. It’s because we need to have a discussion about how some people in this room aren’t getting along with other people in this room.
Vincent : Why did you say that so vaguely? Nash and I are literally the only people you called in here.
—————————-—————————-———————
Duarte: ARE YOU-

Part 3
Tumblr media
Levi stared at the timer and released a long sigh. He was worried about you because you’d been wrapped up in the duvet of your bed and not moved much. He smiled at the ding of the timer and knew that what he had planned for you today would perk you up. He carefully took out the chocolate souffle from the oven and placed it on a plate. He decorated the plate and made it look as pretty as possible for you. He placed everything on a tray and placed some flowers in a vase.
He moved through the penthouse until he was in your bedroom. He felt his heart sting when he heard you sniffing back tears. He gently called your name making you flinch. “I have breakfast.”
“Thank you, but I’m not hungry.”
Levi looked down at the tray. “Well that’s a shame, I made this delicious chocolate souffle with warm tea.” He sighed. “I’ll have to throw it away.”
You sat up and gazed at him with redness under your eyes. “Chocolate souffle?”
“Yes.”
You nibbled your lip. “Don’t throw it away.”
He sat on your bed. “So, do you want it?”
“Please.”
He placed the tray on your lap and played with your hair as you ate. “How is it?”
You gulped and grinned. “Incredible.” You gripped your cup tightly. “Thank you, you know for not giving up on me and being nice.”
“I can’t imagine what you’re going through, but I want to help you. I don’t know why after all these years Mr Carter wants you in his life, but he does. I’ll make sure you’re safe. Even though Mr Carter employs me, you are whom I’m dedicated to.”
You blushed a little. “Thank you.”
Levi went to speak about how he felt about you but his phone went off. “Excuse me.” He slipped off your bed and pulled his phone out to see it was Mr Carter. “I’ll be right back. Make sure you eat everything.”
“Promise.”
Levi slipped out of your room and answered. “Mr Carter.”
“Levi.” Chester sighed. “How are you progressing?”
Levi moved to a quiet spot. “She is in the penthouse you set up for her mother. I had to bring her here after being hurt two days ago.”
“Hurt? Who hurt her?”
Levi retold the incident in the bar. “I swiftly took care of it. I have removed her from her jobs. I will connect her with the money you’ve had waiting for her. Do you require anything else?”
“I would love to meet her.”
Levi looked over to the bedroom and watched you carry the tray to the kitchen. “I will discuss that with her.”
“Levi.” He sighed. “I have supplied her with a home and money, the least she can do is meet me.”
Levi clenched his phone. “Sir, she’s been through a lot and she’s still hurting from her mother’s death.”
“I didn’t ask your opinion. I employ you to do as you’re told. You’re strong and work hard. I expect you to do the same here.”
“Yes…sir…” He let out a long sigh. “I will inform her.”
“Thank you. I expect her to come to dinner tonight. Ensure she wears a nice dress that was meant for her mother.” He let out a long sigh. “I miss her mother.”
“I’ll get her ready for tonight.”
“I appreciate it. I will text you the location you bring her to it.”
“Yes, sir.” He ended the call and looked over at you as you cleaned up. “Oi, kitten?”
You jumped a bit and looked over at Levi. “Yes?”
He moved over to you and saw you shiver and let out a little moan. “Tonight you’re going out for dinner.”
You frowned. “I am?”
He hummed and cupped the side of your face and rubbed his thumb under your eye. “Mr Carter wishes to have dinner with you.”
You whined a bit. “I don’t know about that.”
“I’ll be with you the whole time, don’t worry. He just wants to meet you and talk about being part of the family.”
You tapped your forehead against his pecs and gripped his black shirt. “Mm, okay. I have been staying at this home and using the clothes he bought for my mother. I should go see him. Maybe he has stories about my mother.”
Levi ruffled your hair. “I’m sure he’ll happily tell you about her.”
You smiled at Levi. “I should get washed up and changed.”
“I will get you a nice dress.”
“I appreciate it.” You walked to the bathroom and hummed. “I can’t believe I’m going to meet my father.” You stopped and looked back at Levi. “Do I look anything like him?”
Levi stared at you and really took you all in. He felt his heart skip a beat as he admired how beautiful you were. “Nothing like him. You look nothing like his kids either. You are truly beautiful beyond words.”
You gasped as your cheeks burned hot. “Mm, thank you.”
He cleared his throat and went to the walk-in closet. “I’ll get your dress ready for you.”
“You’re too kind.”
Levi released a sigh once you were gone. He walked into the closet and eyed all the dresses that were meant for your mother. Part of Levi hated this all because it seemed like Mr Carter didn’t want you but your mother. Levi liked you a lot and believed you deserved a lot better. He wanted to shower you with happiness and everything you liked. He wanted to see you smile and laugh as often as possible.
He grabbed a few dresses and looked at them. He smiled when he selected a cute green one with pretty flowers that flowed so nicely. He saw it was low cut and would hug your middle tightly. He shivered in delight and couldn’t stop thinking about how you were going to look. He smiled and grabbed a cute pair of sandals that would match. He placed it all on the bed and hummed in thought.
“That for me?”
Levi held his breath when you walked over to him in just a towel. “I ah…uh…yes.”
You touched the dress. “It’s perfect.”
“I’ll let you get changed.” He slipped out of the room and placed his hand on his heart. “Calm down. I can’t fall for her.” He grabbed his case out of his pocket and popped a cigarette into his mouth before standing outside on the balcony. “She’s a client.” He blew out smoke as he leaned on the railing. “She’s cute though.” He smiled as he thought about you and couldn’t wait to get to know you more. “I suppose getting to know her a little wouldn’t be too bad.”
“Levi? Could you help me with my zip?”
He put his cigarette out and turned to look at you. He felt speechless as he looked at you in the flowing dress, it framed your body so perfectly. You looked like a goddess. He moved closer to you and looked down at you. He caressed your cheek before leaning closer as you gazed up at him with your pretty eyes and parted lips. He moved to kiss you but stopped himself.
“Levi?”
He let you go and walked behind you. “Let me help you.” He shifted your hair and slowly dragged the zip up your back. He held your shoulders and squeezed. “You look perfect.”
You turned and faced Levi. “Thank you.”
“I’ll give you a rundown of the family before you go.”
“Thank you.”
He moved you to the sofa and pulled his phone out. “Mr Chester Carter owns a lot of companies, but his original one was simple trading. It is a bit complex though. He mostly buys things when they’re cheap and sells them when they’re expensive.”
You pulled at your dress a little. “Is there anything fun he does?”
“Well, what do you like?”
“Baking and cooking.”
He smiled and showed you a few things on his phone. “He owns factories that make fancy chocolate, cakes and other pastries. You’ve probably seen them in shops.”
You gasped. “Golden cat? He owns golden cat snacks?”
“That’s right.” He moved the images. “Mrs Carter, or Joy Carter owns a clothing line called Joyful.”
You pulled a face. “I don’t like her line too much.”
“It’s not the best.” He showed you a picture of her. “She’s a bit cold. This is her eldest Roland.”
You stared at the image of a man with shoulder-length blonde hair with a harsh gaze like his mother, but he was model-like but you didn’t trust him. “What does he do?”
“He has created alcohol and watches.”
You nodded. “Right.”
He groaned and showed you an image of a delicate-looking woman with thick long blonde hair with perfect skin, a smile and bright blonde eyes. “This is Heather.”
You whined a bit and recognised her from social media. “Heather cosmetics.”
“You know about her?”
“Yeah.”
Levi locked his phone. “Tch, she’s a pain in my fucking ass. She’s very demanding and cries at the drop of the hat to get her dad’s attention. She’s twenty-three and she asks like this.”
You gasped. “I’m older than her and I don’t do that. It’s kind of sad, but she also has an incredible business.”
“Daddy gave her all the money. He pushed for sales using his money.”
You hummed as you nibbled your lip. “They’re so incredible, all of them.”
Levi tucked your hair behind your ear. “So are you.”
“Levi.”
He held your chin and turned your head. “Kitten, you are far more talented and beautiful than any of those Carters. I know Mr Carter is supposed to be your father, but you are nothing like the Carter family and that’s a good thing. You are kind, sweet, gentle and considerate. You are better than any of them. Don’t ever feel like you are small or weak compared to them because you are incredible.”
You wrapped your arms around Levi’s neck and hugged him tightly. “Thank you.”
Levi squeezed you tightly. “I’m always here for you.”
You squeaked when you felt a vibration. “I hope that was your phone.” You giggled as you pulled back and saw Levi blushing hard. “Levi?”
He cleared his throat and pulled his phone out. “It is your father.” He read the text and hummed. “Okay, I have a location.” He got up and walked to the door “Pop your shoes on.”
You slipped on your cute shoes and grabbed your bag. “I’m ready.”
Levi held your chin and wiped the corner of your mouth. “Lipstick.”
“Th-thank you.”
He released you and guided you to his car. “Just be yourself, okay? If you want to leave early, just tell me and we’ll come home.”
“I appreciate it, Levi.” You nibbled your lip as your heart raced. “I appreciate you.”
Levi gripped the wheel tightly making his gloves groan a little. He fought a lot of urges inside him and his thoughts. He released a long sigh in hopes that he could relax, but he felt tension inside him. He wanted to smoke. He growled a bit in frustration at himself.
“Levi?”
He looked over at your bright gaze. “Yeah?”
You smiled at him to put him at ease. “You can smoke if you want? You seem stressed.”
“I’m okay.”
You shuffled in your seat. “Is there anything I can do? I want you to relax.” You frowned as a thought crossed your mind. “Is it me? Do I stress you?”
Levi stopped at the traffic lights. “You don’t stress me out at all. I stress myself out. I have a lot of thoughts and feelings inside me and I’m always fighting myself.” He glanced over at you. “I’m sure you know what that’s like.”
“I do.” You reached over and placed your hand on his thigh making him tense up. “Oh.” You pulled back. “Sorry.”
He drove on. “Don’t be sorry, you just took me by surprise. I welcome the comforting touch.”
You placed your hand back on his thigh. “You’re a sweet man, Levi.”
He pulled into a parking spot and released a long sigh. “I’ll stick with you, okay?”
“Thank you.”
He climbed out of the car and opened your door for you. “My lady.”
You took his hand and climbed out. “No pet name?”
“I have to be professional in front of your father.”
“I’ll miss being called kitten for a bit.” You giggled making Levi smile. “I guess I’ll look forward to it at home.”
Levi pushed the door open and led you to the hostess and gave your name. “Mr Carter is expecting her.”
The hostess bowed. “Yes, right this way. Mr Carter is waiting.”
Levi walked with you. “May I ask, are the rest of the family here?”
“Of course, Mr Ackerman.”
You tensed up. “Levi?”
Levi looked down at you. “You’ll be just fine.”
You reached over and grabbed Levi’s sleeve on the back of his arm. “Thank you.”
“I’m with you the whole time.”
You smiled up at him. “You’re the best.”
He blushed a little and looked away so he wouldn’t lose his composure around you. He had to control himself. He sighed and stopped when he saw the Carters. “Mr Carter, I’ve brought the young miss.”
Chester stood up and grinned as he said your name. “Hello again. I’m sorry our first meeting was weird for you.” He walked closer and opened his arms. “You’re so pretty, just like your mother.”
You backed up when he went to hug you. You saw him look a bit upset so you offered your hand. “Mm, thanks.”
He smiled and shook your hand. “A bit at a time, yes?”
You nodded. “Yes.”
He chuckled. “Wonderful. Now, let me introduce you to the family. This is my wife, Joy.”
You smiled at a woman with shoulder-length light brown hair with perfect skin with a tiny amount of wrinkles being kept at bay with very good Botox. She had makeup on but it was done so well it looked light. You could see she was in the clothing she had designed for herself with the high-collared white shirt and pink blazer on top. She was incredibly thin making her look fragile, dainty and her movements soft and slow. You were sure that if she ever hug someone it would hurt.
You bowed your head to her. “Pleasure to meet you.”
A tiny smile spread over her thin lips. “You too. Oh, don’t be too worried my dear. I won’t be some evil stepmother. I am aware of what my husband did with your mother and we’ve moved on. You are a child of his and we want to welcome you into our lives.”
“Thank you.”
Chester guided you over to his two children. “This is Roland and the other is Heather.”
You gazed at the two picture-perfect adults in their expensive clothes, blonde lushes hair and judgemental eyes. Heather was covered in makeup that looked like she’d been photoshopped. Roland was like a model and he would not stop staring at you, you were beginning to feel a bit uncomfortable with how strongly he was gazing.
You wanted to cover yourself up, but your dress was a bit revealing. “Lovely to meet you both.”
Heather giggled and spoke with a gentle voice high in pitch. “You’re such a pretty thing. That dress looks incredible on your body.”
Roland smirked. “Very beautiful.”
Chester squeezed you. “We’re going to have dinner and drinks on the balcony. Come join us.”
You looked back at Levi. “Will Levi be coming?”
“You’ve grown rather attached to my bodyguard.”
You felt your cheeks burn. “He’s been very kind to me.”
“That’s good.” He moved you outside. “I trust him a lot. He’s done many things for me over the years.” He sat you down and looked over at Levi. “He knows many secrets and has done a lot of naughty things for me.”
You gazed at Levi and saw he looked a little ashamed. “He’s a good man.”
Levi smiled a little and felt confident. He took his blazer off and put it around your shoulders. “You seem cold.”
You pulled it around you. “Thank you. It’s a thin dress.” You shifted in your seat and felt rather overwhelmed when the family started talking a lot. You felt out of place and not included in anything. You just sipped your drink and ate a bit of your food. You flinched when you heard your name called to find Roland smiling at you. “S-Sorry I didn’t catch that.”
Roland chuckled. “I was asking if you had a boyfriend at all, we’d love to meet him.”
You saw Heather smirking as she looked at you and then she carried on eyeing up Levi. “Oh, well I’m single.” You blushed as Levi shifted closer to you and seemed happier. “So, there is no guy for you all to meet.”
Roland shook his head. “What a shame, a real beauty like you should have been snatched up already. Perhaps I’ll introduce you to a friend of mine.”
Heather laughed. “Those idiots? No way.”
“My friends aren’t idiots.”
“They’re disgusting pigs.”
Roland snarled at his sister. “They’re good men!”
Heather rolled her eyes. “Good at being pigs.”
Chester slammed his fist on the tale. “Enough! No childish screaming. We need to set a good impression on our new family member.”
Joy took your hand. “Forgive my children, but they get so excitable sometimes.”
You hummed. “It’s okay.”
Chester sighed. “We’ve made you uncomfortable.”
You shook your head. “N-No, I’m okay.
Chester smiled softly. “You’re just like her, you know? I am sorry all the clothes in the penthouse were for her, but I had no idea she had a daughter until a few weeks ago. I didn’t get a chance to swap everything to fit you. Please, forgive me.”
You smiled at him. “It’s okay. I know my mother would have liked everything you bought her.”
“Did…did she pass painfully?”
You shook your head. “Peacefully. She got sick and the doctors did everything they could, but she wasn’t strong enough. She was a wonderful mother and I have a lot of fun memories with her.” You hummed a laugh. “She was a silly woman that loved playing around. She was a good person, which is why I was a bit confused when she passed to find loan sharks and that she had an affair with you.”
Joy clenched her jaw. “Chester lied to her and said he was divorced from me. There were talks of divorce, so we were parted but we worked things out after your mother ran.”
You bowed your head. “I’m sorry she had an affair.”
“She didn’t know and you’re not at fault. It is sad you didn’t get a family. We’re here now.”
Chester smiled. “We’ll take care of you.”
You felt a bit uncomfortable, something was a bit off but you didn’t want to think badly of the family that seemed like they were trying. You glanced over at Heather when she called your name. “Y-Yes?”
Heather smiled as she giggled. “How about we go on a fun shopping date soon? Mm? I think it’ll be fun and we can get you some clothes that my father didn’t pick out for his long-lost love. I feel bad that all you have to wear are clothes that belong to a dead woman.”
Chester glared at his daughter. “Heather.”
She pouted. “What?”
Joy sighed. “Sorry, she can be rude sometimes.”
Roland smirked when you tried to hide a yawn. “Are we boring you?”
You blushed. “N-No. I was just yawing, I didn’t mean to be rude.”
Chester shot to his feet. “I’ve had enough.” He called your name. “Come with me.”
You stumbled to your feet and bowed to his family as he stormed out. “Thank you for meeting me.” You looked to Levi. “Levi? What’s happening?”
Levi put his arm around you. “Just follow Mr Carter.”
You nodded and rushed out of the bar and found Chester talking to his bodyguard. “Mr Carter?”
Chester turned to you and smiled. “I am deeply sorry for my family ruining our reunion. I had so many things I wanted to talk to you about. We should arrange to have coffee together, don’t you think?”
“Yes.”
He lightly touched your cheek. “You do look just like her.” He pulled back and looked over at Levi. “Levi? Continue to take care of her twenty-four-seven. Anything she needs, you give it to her. Your job is to ensure she is happy.”
Levi bowed. “Yes, sir.”
Chester smiled. “I bet you’re tired. We’ve kept you here for three hours.” He hummed a laugh. “I’m so glad you have joined the family. Now, I have a family to have a word with.”
You watched Chester go inside the bar. You gulped hard before pulling Levi’s blazer around you more. “Levi? I want to go home.”
Levi put his arm around you. “Me too.”
Tumblr media
“Kitten?” The wooden floorboards creaked under Levi’s feet. “Where in the world is she? This penthouse isn’t big enough for her to disappear.” He hummed in thought and kept walking until he located you on the bedroom balcony in a corner. His heart raced when he saw you leaning over and looking. Levi went into protective mode and ran out onto the balcony shouting your name. He grabbed you making you squeak and pulled you to the bed. He threw you on and pinned you in place to see how shocked you looked. “What do you think you’re doing?! Have I failed as your bodyguard? Was the meeting that bad the other night? Tell me what I can do to make you happy. I’ll do anything.”
You gazed at Levi and felt your heart breaking at the sad look in his eyes. “Levi…”
He shook a little. “Please.”
You reached up and caressed his cheek. “I’m okay. It’s okay. I wasn’t doing what you thought I was.”
He frowned. “But I saw…”
“I was just leaning over the railing to see where Mr Carter’s tower was. I’ve never seen it before and it’s famous. I couldn’t see it from anywhere but that spot.”
Levi’s cheeks slowly went pink when he realised he had read you wrong. He whined a bit and felt even more embarrassed by the position he had you in. He had you pinned against your bed with him on top. You looked beautiful beyond words below him. He lowered himself onto you and hid his face against the crook of your neck. He just thought for a moment he could be close to you.
You wrapped your arms around Levi and squeezed him. “I’m sorry I scared you.”
“Don’t be sorry. I was thinking the worst. I’ve had so many terrifying jobs and I looked after Heather once and she was always doing dangerous things. You’re safe.” He shifted his arms under you. “You’re warm. You’re soft. You’re kind.”
You played with his hair and held him for a while. You wanted so badly for him to be yours. You inhaled deeply and smiled at his natural scent mixed with other smells. “You smell nice. Like lemons, flowers and cigarettes.”
Levi sighed against your neck making you shiver at his hot breath. “I’ll get rid of the cigarette smell soon.” He leaned up and looked down at you, his tamed-back black hair was falling out of the hold his product had on it. He smiled a little and lightly caressed your cheek. “You smell the best. Always brings me comfort.”
“Thank you.”
He pulled back and cleared his throat. He fixed his clothes and stood up when he realised he had you in a very intimate position. “I would like to be a man of my word. Your happiness is my mission. So, how can I make you happy today?”
You sat up and hummed in thought. “I would like to go to the Carter Tower. I want to know about the business. I’m mostly interested in the golden cat line instead of anything else.”
“I can take you. I have a friend who is the advisor to your father. Honestly, he deserves the CEO role but he hasn’t been given it.” Levi groaned. “Not that I’m saying Mr Carter is bad…”
You fixed your clothes and walked with Levi. “It’s okay. Everyone has good and bad parts to themselves. My good part is I am kind, but my bad part is I am full of self-doubt.” You let out a long sigh. “We should get going. I would love to meet your friend.”
“I’ll take you to him.” He walked ahead and led you to his car. “We can go to a café with him.”
You sat in your seat and hummed. “Yeah, that’d be nice.”
Levi started up the car and made the short journey to see Erwin. “His name is Erwin Smith, he’s a good man and hard-working. He’s been a friend of mine for years.” He hummed. “Does have a bit of a rod up his arse sometimes. Someone needs to teach him to relax a little.”
You smiled as you fiddled with your bag. “Well, we can always take him places together. I mean, he is your friend and I’m sure he’ll enjoy spending time with you.”
“You’re right.” He glanced over at you to see you shifting as if you were anxious or upset. “Something wrong?”
You shook your head. “Not really.”
“You look like you either need to shit or you have something to say.”
You gasped. “Levi.”
“What? Everyone shits.” He sighed. “So?”
“Did you and Heather?” You looked down at your lap. “You and Heather were you…did…um…”
“Are you asking if we ever fucked?”
You gazed over at Levi. “Levi…”
“No, I’ve never fucked her. We’ve never been a couple. Yes, she has a thing for me and no I don’t have a thing for her.” He sighed. “Yes, I have exes, two actually. The first one was when I was young and all my firsts were with her. It didn’t work out because she didn’t like my job path. My second didn’t work out due to her having multiple affairs, she said it was because I was not there enough for her. That last one was about four years ago.”
You felt your cheeks burning. “I um…you didn’t need to…uh…I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry. I wanted to tell you. Why did you ask about Heather?”
You shrugged. “I didn’t want to come between you and Heather. You have to stay with me all the time and I’d feel awful if you were dating someone.”
Levi pulled up. “It’s okay. I just have you in my life right now and I like that.”
You whined at Levi’s comment as he got out of the car. You looked up when he got to your door. “Thank you.” You walked with him inside and felt your heart beating so loudly. You gulped and gripped your chest. You stumbled inside the lift and slammed into Levi’s chest when people got in and shoved you. “Sorry Levi.”
Levi wrapped an arm around you and held you against him. “I’ll look after you, don’t worry.”
You clung to Levi. “Thank you.”
He moved to the back of the lift as it became more filled with people. “Tch, damn lifts are a nightmare.” He looked down at you and felt himself blushing when he felt every inch of your beautiful body against his. He squeezed you a little and moved his hand slowly down your back making you look up at him with your pretty lips parted. He wanted to kiss you so badly. “Kitten.”
“Levi?” A deep voice drew your attention. You both looked to the open doors to see Erwin standing before you. Erwin placed his hand on the lift door. “Good to see you. I didn’t know you were dating.”
Levi released you and cleared his throat as his cheeks burned. “I’m not. This is Mr Carter’s illegitimate daughter.” He said your name and smiled. “She wanted to meet you and know about the golden cat snack line.”
You turned to Erwin and offered your hand. “Lovely to meet you.”
Erwin shook your hand. “You too. Would you like to join me for a cup of coffee or tea?”
“Oh, tea please.”
He put his arm around you. “Let’s go to my office. What is it you’d like to know?”
You hummed in thought. “Well, I want to help out as much as I can and I do bake a lot…well, I did for my old job. I was wondering if maybe I can share some of my ideas?”
Erwin peeled his blazer off to show his broad muscular back under a tight smart shirt. “I’ll make the tea.”
You frowned and wondered how he found the time to work out while working so hard here, if he did it was likely he had almost no time for a social life. “Lonely…”
Erwin flinched at your comment and looked over at you. “You read people well.”
You covered your mouth with your hands. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to say that out loud. I was just…you work so much and clearly work out at the gym.”
“How do I find the time to socialise? I don’t just ask Levi.” He looked over at Levi. “Why do you look pissed off?”
Levi blushed a little as he felt silly. He was annoyed because all your attention was on Erwin and he’d noticed you were checking out Erwin. “It’s nothing.” He moved over to you and sat down. “Tea.”
Erwin handed the cups over. “Sure. So, what would you like to know first?”
You smiled. “Everything.”
Erwin’s brow rose. “All right.”
Levi sat back and zoned out when Erwin talked for a long time and you asked a few questions now and then. He was a little confused about how he was feeling. He had never felt this way before. He was confused by his feelings. He had been possessive and jealous, but when you gazed at Erwin it annoyed him a little that your attention wasn’t on him. Part of him wanted to compete with Erwin. He also didn’t want to do anything because he got you all to himself every single day.
“Levi?” You smiled at Levi when he gazed at you. “You were zoned out for a while.”
He blushed. “Sorry. Did you need me?”
You nodded. “Yeah.”
Erwin chuckled. “She thought she was taking up too much of my time and was wondering if you could take her home. You have not taken up much of my time, okay? You can come to talk to me whenever you want.”
You blushed a little. “Thank you.”
“I’ll give you my number.” He grabbed his business card and wrote on the back of it. “This is my private number. Call me or text me if you ever need me.”
You took his card and smiled. “Thank you.”
Levi shot to his feet. “Let’s go. You need lunch.”
You stood up and smiled at Erwin. “I’ll message you. We should have coffee sometime.”
Erwin smiled. “I’d like that.”
Levi grabbed your hand. “Oi, come on. You get cranky when you’re hungry.”
You waved to Erwin. “Bye-bye and thank you!”
Levi pulled you into the lift. “You going to ask him on a date?”
“No.”
“Tch, why?”
You looked up at Levi. “Cause I don’t want to.”
“But you seemed like you were into each other.”
You leaned up and kissed Levi’s cheek. “You’re cute.”
Levi’s cheeks burned. “Tch, I’m not cute.”
“Let’s have some delicious lunch together.”
“Was the meeting useful?”
You nodded. “Yes, very. I know a lot more about this company.” You released a long sigh. “It hurts my brain a bit, but I’m glad I have you always with me to calm my mind.”
Levi smiled softly. “Sorry I got a bit grumpy back there.”
“It’s okay. I figured it is because you’re hungry.”
Levi chuckled. “Yeah, that’s why.”

Medusa Ex Makina
Tumblr media
Chapter 8: Reconsider the Follower
Rated M for Mature
Warnings: Canon typical misogyny, period accurate misogyny, slapstick violence
Author’s Note: This is it, the finale of Arc 2! Will Makina and Chester ever be on good terms again?! This is a really long chapter. -w-;;
The colors of the dream grew dim as Nathan looked on from the ocean’s bar, if he went closer into the dunes of the beach, he wouldn’t be able to breathe and his voice would be hoarse again. There had to be a way to have his voice reach her. Makina walked closer to the cave by the coast, there. Maybe there was water inside the cave? Nathan swam closer towards the high rock near the entrance and saw a tide pool. It was the perfect entrance point. However it seems the sea had a mind of its own as the faint sound of a piano began to play. Its notes sounded slow and oddly familiar to Nathan, but they seemed out of order; C, D, D#, G, low G, low G#, low A#, and repeat. Suddenly the tides began rolling out, beaching Nathan on shore. His breathing became coarse and stiff, it was happening again. Makina was closing in on the cave, Nathan desperately reached out to her and grabbed onto her ankle. He was so happy, he finally reached her. Or so he thought… Nathan looked up to see that the woman who he thought was Makina, wasn’t her at all. Her eyes were deep red with a large scar over her left, she had an upside down pentagram in her it and long flowing wavy black hair tied into low twin tails. “You shouldn’t be here, traitor.” The woman said. “Now be gone with the tides.” Just as she said, the waves rolled high and grabbed Nathan away from the cave, pulling him back into the sea. “NO!!” Nathan shouted as the ocean reeled him back further away. “MAKINA!!!” Makina turned her head as if she heard her name being called, there was no one there. It must have been the wind. She then faced towards the cave to see the woman Nathan had seen. She was wearing the same tattered red dress as her, only now Makina can clearly see the symbol for the gears clearly on her chest. “My sweet egg, my kin.” the woman sweetly replied, she leaned into her ear. “Your time to hatch is nigh.”
Makina awoke with a sweat, the pounding of her heart thumping irregularly making her breathing uneven. The raven haired rookie looked up at her bedside clock, 1 AM, she sighed. Chester was working poor Makina to the bone for the past 2 weeks. Rewriting lyrics, rejecting ideas left and right, and worst of all were the many conference calls with the label head, Damien Cornickleson about their contractual arrangement. The thought of him made her shudder. It was no use getting back to bed now, she was far too awake. Makina rolled over to her bedside lamp to turn it on. Rubbing her eyes, she carefully got out of bed and walked towards her desk. She quietly put on her hoodie and some baby blue character slippers and walked out of her room door. ‘Maybe some tea would help calm my nerves. Yeah, lavender tea.’ Makina had thought to herself. As she walked past Nathan’s room, she heard a creaking sound. The young singer turned to see Nathan’s door opening and him in a fluffy black and red bathrobe and slippers. “Nathan, what are you doing up?” Makina whispered. Nathan turned to see Makina and scanned her up and down. “Bad dream… sorry do those slippers have my face on them?” The raven haired rookie looked down at her feet and blushed a deep red. “Just pretend you didn’t see them. I uh… misplaced my other ones.” Makina lied through her teeth. “Right… anyway, let’s go to the rec room.” Nathan said, inviting Makina on his midnight snack run. The singer nodded and followed her mentor.
The moonlight’s gentle glow shone high in the sky as Nathan asked a klokateer for some chips, a throw blanket, and tea for Makina. The two sat next to each other on the couch, a relaxing silence filled the air. “Did you have a bad dream too?” The larger man asked as Makina put her feet on the couch to hug her knees, she silently nodded. “What was yours about?” Makina asked as the klokateer put down the requested items, including the throw blanket, placing it in the middle of the two vocalists. Nathan looked off to the side, he never told anyone about the strange dreams with the whale prophet. He should lie or… “Why don’t you tell me yours first.” Nathan requested, he began to unfold the blanket and put it onto his legs. Makina grabbed her tea and sipped it. “I’ve been having the same dream for the last 3 years now. It’s a beach with a wide open ocean, a piano plays a weird song in a cave, and I wake up whenever I walk closer to it.” Makina looked down at her cup with woe, “And then recently, I’ve been hearing voices. Raspy ones and whispers calling my name. There was even a freaky lady but I didn’t recognize who she was. And those kinds of dreams have been happening since I got here.” Makina replied somberly, she put her tea down and curled up into herself once more. Nathan’s facial expression grew weary as he placed another chip into his mouth. He quietly placed a hand on her shoulder and opened up the blanket. Makina began to huddle underneath, she reached out for his hand and held it tightly.
“What about your bad dream?” Makina asked cautiously. The hulking man paused for a moment, grabbing another chip from the bag and chowing down. The dream he woke from sounded exactly like hers, but from an opposite perspective. Nathan didn’t want to be too blunt, that would probably freak her out. Just a little lie wouldn’t hurt right? “It was about a beach too,” Nathan began, “except there were freaky monsters and stuff. Like zombie mermaids and the ocean was filled with uh… blood and guts. And they were singing about eating my balls or some shit.”
“Damn, that makes my nightmare sound like a cake walk in comparison.” Makina winced. Nathan sighed, “Yeah, way scarier than an empty beach.” He rubbed Makina’s arm, she felt safe in her mentor’s company, all of the insanity of the night terrors and issues before they met seemed to melt away. “Nathan?”
“Yeah kid?”
“Would I get in trouble if I punched Barker in the nards if he pissed me off again?” Makina asked with conviction. Nathan chuckled at his protoge’s violent thought, “Only if it’s for a really good reason, then you can. Otherwise don’t be a dumbass.” Makina smiled, her eyes half closed and her body started to get far too relaxed. Nathan scooped the raven haired singer up into his arms and began carrying her towards her room like a child sleepy from a car ride. He gingerly laid her down. “Rest up Medusa.” Nathan whispered as he tucked Makina into bed. The brutal man silently hoped no one saw him be soft towards his protege.
XxxX
The early afternoon came and Makina went straight to work, having to skip breakfast for sleeping in so late. Chester was more than annoyed at Makina’s lack of gusto and willingness to work. They were down to the last thing on their to do list for the day, recording a new demo for a single. Makina hadn’t had the inspiration to write since Chester’s new schedule had been throwing her off her creative juices. “Really Medusa? Nowt to show for the label?”
“Well I would have fucking time to write, if someone wasn’t taking up all of it.” she sneered. “Then perhaps Dethklok should give some back, eh?!” Chester retorted. “I was talking about the gazillion meetings you put on me, seriously why do I have to sit in with that CEO jackoff?” Makina hissed. “That ‘jackoff’ is doing all they can to kick off your bloody solo career!” Chester replied, Makina crossed her arms, “Successful my ass, all they want is a bottle blonde babe to sing trashy pop songs.” she mumbled under her breath.
Chester opened the door to find Murderface sitting on the sofa in a strange blue jumpsuit, goggles, and dish gloves. He was holding a vacuum cleaner hose attached to an oxygen tank and a trash bag. “Murderface, why are you cosplaying a sewage plumber?” questioned Makina with an eyebrow raised, “It’s not a costume, it’s protection over your ghost thing. I don’t wanna get chained up like Charles- I mean, Chester over here. Sorry ‘bout the name mix up, we had a guy with a similar name to yours and… I’ll shut up now.” Murderface sat back down. Just then Pickles walked into the room, “Hey, mind if I watch- …Murderface, you look stupid.”
“Well don’t come crying to me if you get chained up by Makina’s ghost powers!” Murderface shouted. Soon Nathan and Skwisgaar entered the studio, “Alrights Medusas, lets sees some- oh… what kinds of fashions criminals amst you?”
“Fuck off Skwisgaar, it’s ghost protection!” Murderface shouted. “You look like a mechanic that has no clue what the fuck their doing.” Nathan commented, Makina tried to stifle her laughter. “Ja, yous looks likes a confuseds scubas divers who amst a cleanings a hostels.” added Skwisgaar. “No wait, he’s an astronaut that came to wash moon rocks.” Pickles chortled. “Guys, stop making fun of him.” Makina butted in. “Thank you Medusa.” Murderface replied. “He’s obviously dressed as if Micheal Myers was a high school janitor.” Makina stated with a smirk. Murderface placed the goggles over his eyes and pushed his back further into the sofa. “Fuck you guys, if a ghost pops out and posesses Medusa don’t say I told you so.” the bassist pouted.
“Mother’s meeting over? Yes? Good. Come on Medusa, get in the booth.” Chester snapped his fingers in Makina’s face. “Fuck, alright! Sheesh, snippy ass producer manager.” Makina got herself situated in the recording booth and put on a set of headphones. “Quiet in the stands. That means you Murderface.” adjured Chester. Murderface gave an exasperated shocked expression before silently flipping the bird behind Chester’s back. Makina covered her mouth, holding back more of her laughter. The welshman pushed a button on the mixtable and began instructing Makina to begin whenever she’s ready. The vocalist took a deep breath in and signaled that he could play the instrumental. Chester pressed another button and a track began to play. The hum of a choir and gothic sounding bells began to ring through, and the bass line began to play along with a gentle piano in E Minor. Makina began to sing the first verse, really feeling the vibe of the song. Soon the lights began to flicker, the track became louder, as if she was singing in an amphitheater with a crowd of a thousand people. Out came the chains by the chorus and they swiftly latched themselves onto Makina and Chester, forming the muzzle and shackle again. Murderface tried to reach for the on button to his vacuum, but before he could make a move with his makeshift ghost gear, Nathan pushed Murderface’s chest back into the couch. Something was wrong with the ghost aura.
The aura kept flickering like a faded neon light until it completely dissipated. Makina raised her hand up to signal to her producer to stop the track, Chester tapped the pause button. “Medusa, we can’t afford to have a break right now.”
“I don’t want a break, I’m done for today. The song sucks and you need to remix it. I can’t stand that weird synthetic choir and you edited my lyrics without my knowledge!” she squeaked. “Oh fuck.” Nathan said under his breath. If there was one thing that Nathan knew as a lyricist that a vocalist’s words were their own thoughts and feelings flowing through a melody. Makina aggressively took her headphones off. “I’m clocking the fuck out. Fix the fucking track and use my original lyrics.” she demanded as she began to storm out of the recording studio. “Come on, you’re seriously packing it in?” Chester jeered, “Well then, why not just throw your only solo career chance in the shitter! It’s obvious you were never up for it in the first place.”
Makina gripped the door handle, fueled with rage she swiftly turned around, sped right to Chester, and punched him square in the balls. “Throw my CHANCE!? I am not throwing in the towel because I’m a stubborn motherfucker that doesn’t know when to quit. But you know who did? You did! I can forgive Syd and Gerard, because at least they were able to explain themselves and communicate to me their ilks. I did everything to reach you. But you ignored my calls, texts, and emails. So what does that tell me? You gave up on Lycan RIOT. You left Lycan RIOT the minute we were backstage of Doom-opolis. I know it’s not about me, it never is. But you left me, you broke your promise that we’d be in this together. And now you come crawling back into my life, to berate me on a dream you gave up on?! You’re a fucking coward Barker, you have no bite! Eat shit and good fucking day!” Makina slammed the door behind her and walked off with frustration in her eyes. The other members of Dethklok looked at Chester’s look of concentrated frustration. “Ooh, she chewed you the fuck out.” Pickles commented. “She’s lost her bloody marbles! How the hell am I the one getting bashed over it?!” the producer complained, Chester put a hand to his temple and began drawing circles into it with his fingertips. “Honestly, what got her fucking knickers in a twist?”
“Didn’t you hear a single fucking word she said?” Nathan answered back, questioning the manager, “I don’t think I have to spell it out for you.” The frontman sighed.  “Oh, please do by all means! That cunt clearly can’t!” cried Chester. “Hey, don’t call her a cunt. I only get that privilege!” Murderface yelled back, Pickles side eyed the bassist. “Whys evens bothers withs hers if you ams goings to calls hers nastiness?” Skwisgaar irritatingly asked as he fidgeted with his guitar.
There was a silent pause, a moment of realization. It had dawned on him like a caveman learning how to invent the wheel. These googolplexian famous douchebags had a fucking point, why even bother with Makina at all if this was how they were going to be working with one another for the rest of their lives? Has his own academic ego and goal oriented ambitions blinded him from the most important friendship in his life? He never considered how much Makina had meant to him. She wasn’t his lover or a close companion by any means… what were they?
XxxX
It was the new millennium, the year 2000 at Existrace high school, and 4 students sat in a classroom that used to be the music room. “Alright, let’s see here…” A teacher began, he pushed his glasses up to see the ledger more clearly. “Sydney Perseus, you kicked our star quarterback in the groin out of aggression during a food fight. First offense, don’t do it again. Chester Barker, another first offender. And from long time school ditcher, Gerard Desdemona. For starting said food fight, this isn’t “animal house” you dolts. And Miss… Mickey na Gordon…”
“It’s ‘Mah-kina Gorgon’ sir.”
“Whatever, you’re very close to being in the ISS young lady. You better behave yourselves. Now I need to step out to grab something. I expect you all not to get into too much trouble.” The teacher warned as he got up to leave the room. A small click was heard as he locked the door from the outside and walked away. Gerard leaned back in his chair staring up at the ceiling, high as a kite. Chester placed his head in his hands as he bent forward in his seat. The one called Sydney brushed through their half red and black hair vigorously. It was frizzing up with the heat inside the room. “I shouldn’t even be here!” they complained, “I was totally innocent!”
“Pssh, yeah right.” Makina replied, as she took out the red scrunchy from her hair. Her long raven locks fell comfortably to her bum and she began bunching it back up to remake her high ponytail. “It’s true, I was just defending myself! He threatened to throw me through the goal post.” Sydney retorted. “And he was pissing about with you because…?” Chester questioned as he slowly lifted his head up. “He wasn’t, Jordan Thompson was pushing around a classmate of mine from 5th period. You know that guy with the Abyssal Oblivion lunchbox?”
“I think I know him.” chimed Gerard, “Benny Oxford, the one with the mole on the side of his neck. I slide him Faygos in exchange for those expensive as fuck fruit snacks.”
“Yeah, anyway I told that meathead to back off. He threatened me and I kicked him in the dick.”
Makina couldn’t help but snicker at her peers. “Are you snickering? I ain’t done owt wrong.” protested Chester. The punkish girl cleared her throat, “Sorry but that’s not self defense. That’s the ‘talk shit get hit’ method. I should fucking know, it’s my specialty.”
“Oh, so we’re moving on to cockfighting then?” asked the young welsh. Makina shook her head, “‘Cockfighting’ is for petty people. I was in what they call ‘a sophisticated romp of fisticuffs’. In other words, beating her ass to a pulp for talking shit about Dethklok.” The others looked at her as if she had grown 3 heads, eyes widened in bewilderment. “…I beg your pardon?” Chester stated as the others were still slack jawed. “You’re a Dethklok fan?! Get the fuck out!”
“Nuh-uh, I know every song off of their first gig mix at the Depths of Humanity! And I can prove it!” Makina said in a sharp tone. Gerard sat up straight in his chair while Sydney scooched thier’s closer. Chester crossed his arms and leaned up against the wall behind Makina’s seat.  “Alright, what’s the ditty of the herring cannery called?” Chester quizzed. “Easy, that’s the 4th track and it’s called ‘Caught in a Sawfish’.” she replied in confidence. The dirty blonde haired boy raised an eyebrow, “Beginner’s luck. Alright, here’s one; Skwisgaar Skwigelf is from which country?”
“Sweden. Come on, this is child’s play!” Makina scoffed as she smirked at her peers. “Fine. Here’s a spicy one for yer then. Who came before Toki Wartooth, and what kind of guitar did he play?” The other teens eagerly leaned in to hear her answer, Makina crossed her arms thinking hard and then slyly smirked. “Magnus Hammersmith and he played a Gibson Les Paul with a custom glossy ebony fingerboard.”
“Bullshit, how the ‘eck do you know that?!” Chester shouted. “I’m not a fucking poser that’s how.” the rebellious girl responded, crossing her legs smugly. Chester fell back in his seat stunned, unable to make a single retort back at her.
“Shit… You really know your stuff uh, Makina right?” Gerard asked, extending a hand. “Maybe we should call you Medusa, ‘cause you seem to have turned that British boy to stone.” Sydney said playfully sticking out their tongue.  “I’m Welsh you pricks, look at a map once in a while.” Chester pouted. Makina put her hand under her chin, “Medusa… that’s a badass nickname. Thanks-”
“Syd, just call me Syd.”
“Syd, got it! Wonder when that teacher’s coming back?” Makina asked as she leaned to look at the clock. It was 12:30 pm, way past the time they were supposed to be let out. “Shit, only 20 minutes till the new Dethklok show starts!” Chester exclaimed. “Wait, that’s today?!” Gerard shouted. “Oh fuck, I forgot to set the channel at my place!”
“Crazy idea, what if we went to my place to watch the premiere.” Makina suggested. “Are you sure your parents wouldn’t mind?” Syd asked cautiously. “I never met my mom and my dad’s dead.” Makina stated, an awkward silence filled the air as she stood up to walk towards the window on the other side of the classroom. “Chillax, my pseudo-dad’s alive and he’s out till 5. Anyway, you fellas wanna break out of this joint?” Makina asked as she went to pick the lock of the window. “Pseudo-dad?” Chester questioned, raising an eyebrow. “God stop asking so many fucking questions. Do you wanna break out of detention or not!?” Makina yelled, extending a hand to him. Chester quietly nodded and followed Syd and Gerard out the window, escaping the confines of the stuffy classroom.
“Woo, freedom at last!” Gerard shouted as he went to slap Chester on the back. The dirty blonde swallowed the wrong way and cleared his throat. “Nice work ‘Dusa!” Syd said gleefully, Makina hi-fived them. The 4 teens began their short journey towards Makina’s place. “Sooner or later, you’ll want them in the band.” Chester uttered sarcastically as he rolled his eyes. “Barker, that’s a great idea!” Gerard exclaimed, Syd and Makina looked at him confused. “A band you say?” Syd asked, tilting their head with curiosity. “Like Dethklok?”
“No no it’s more uh… ‘punk’.” Chester stated with air quotes. “I thought we agreed that we’d try the more emo approach?” Gerard interjected. “Well I’ve considered it.” Chester replied. “What about instruments, who plays what?” Makina asked as the 4 of them stopped near a crosswalk. “Barker plays drums and I do… everything else.” Gerard replied.
“What are you trying to recreate, the White Stripes? You can’t be working poor Gerard to the bone!”
“It’s no biggie Medusa, really.” Gerard said, scratching the back of his head. “Besides we can’t fit more than our equipment and 2 people in my garage.”
The clouds in the sky began blocking the afternoon sun as the delinquent teens inched closer to Makina’s home. “Well if you let me in your band I can lend you a space.”
“Ooh, and I can help with mixing!” Syd interjected. Chester face palmed himself, “Syd can join, they’re alright. But not you, ‘Dusy.”
“Oh ho, shortening the nickname huh. You must be catching feelings aren’t you?” Makina teased, Chester sneered at her, blushing with embarrassment. They stopped in front of a hard rock bar that had a closed sign, Makina dug into her pocket to look for something. Chester immediately grabbed the raven haired rebel’s shoulder. “Are we wantin’ to break into a fuckin’ pub ‘ere?!”
“I live here chucklenuts, my pseudo-dad’s the owner.” Makina replied as she found what she was looking for, a small rose gold key. She unlocked the door letting the others in, turned on the lights, and then locked the door behind her. In front of them was a small stage, lights, and a shoddy little microphone setup. Along the wall was a bar to the left of the room, to the right was a set of tables and chairs stacked up. There were photographs on the wall with posters of all sorts of bands that had visited the small bar. Makina hopped onto the stage and walked to a door that read ‘Employees Only’. The teens followed her into a small 2 bedroom apartment. There was a bay window seat, a couch, a small kitchenette, and large stacks of vinyl records and a boombox with lots of CDs. “TV’s in my room, just don’t track any mud, and if my pseudo-dad comes home you best be running out through the fire escape.”
Chester’s heart sank, a bit of him felt bad that she lived in such a small place, on top of that her parents were gone. But on the other hand… “Tell yer wot Makina, you can join if Mr. ‘pseudo-dad’ lets us use the bar space for practice.” Makina’s eyes lit up as she accidentally bent the antenna on her TV in the wrong direction. “Really?!”
“Yeah, I mean, what can you do?”
“I’m a vocalist, I’ve always wanted to be one like my old man!”
“Who is your dead dad Makina?” Syd asked as they sat on the foot of Makina’s bed. Makina pointed at a framed poster in her bedroom. It was partially ripped in half leaving only 2 band members present. “Your dad was in The Abyssal Oblivion?!” Gerard shouted as he pushed his shaggy hair out of his eyes. “Yeah, but you better keep that to yourselves. Ah here we go, it’s starting!” Makina exclaimed, the 4 teens huddled in front of the tv to watch the Dethklok Minute premiere.
XxxX
Maybe that’s all she ever was to him… a pitiful means to an end. Chester recalled many of the private moments she had shared with her. The way she kissed him, the way she made him laugh, the way she felt in his arms. Since the day they met all he caused her was grief, never telling her why. “I’ll go talk to her.” He answered firmly. The welshman swiftly walked out of the room to search for his vocalist. Knowing Makina, there was one other place she could have gone in this entire death metal castle. And wouldn’t you know it, he was right on the money. Gingerly opening her bedroom door, Chester sat on Makina’s bed. There was a large lump underneath the covers and small whimpers. “‘Dusy?”
“Fuck off.” she answered with a sharp whine.  “‘Dusy, a quick chin wag?”
“Oh now you wanna talk?” Makina sniffled, “What took you so long?” Chester looked down at Makina’s blanket cocoon, her makeup looked smeared and she was cuddling her Skwisgaar plush under the covers. The look of her saddened face was just like how they were long ago. “Makina,” Chester said solemnly. Makina’s ears perked up, this was the first time in the history of their lives did he ever utter her name, her real name. “Makina… I’m… I’m sorry. For, y’know, all the bullcrap I put yer through.” Makina sat up, attempting to wipe her eyes. “I shouldn’t have kept you in the dark like I did. We both know you were just as important to Lycan RIOT as you were to me.” Chester reached for her hand and hesitantly, she held it. He took a deep breath. “I know we can’t change the past. And I know I’m the dick for breaking our promise. So… I hope we can have a chance to start over?” Makina didn’t hesitate and hugged her manager tightly. Chester was surprised and hugged her back, the feeling was warm and nostalgic. “I’m sorry for being an asshat to you, I know you’re just doing your job and shit. But I-”
“Yeah I know.” the producer said as Makina was embraced again in another tight hug.
Chester placed his forehead onto hers, “Starting now, I swear to be more open like a good book.”
“Good, because now I wanna know something.” Makina moving away from Chester as she slowly got out from under the covers to put the Skwisgaar doll away. “How’s your wife Tanja?” Chester hesitated for a response, but he kept his word and spoke the truth. “She’s pregnant, 7 months along.” Makina slammed her closet door in surprise and ran to his side. “YOU MEAN YOU-”
“Yep. So now we should-”
“BEANPOLE FINALLY GOT SOMEONE TO-”
“MEDUSA!” Chester shouted, the raven haired rookie backed away. “Sorry… Do you know what she’s gonna have?” Chester shook his head,  “We discussed names, she really doesn’t like Lynne much.”“Well what about Renee, it’s pretty neutral.” Makina said with a smile, Chester patted her back. “S’pose so. Anyway, perhaps we should get back to the studio and take another crack at it.” Makina shook her head, “Redo the mix and we record tomorrow.” Chester smiled, “Alright then, boss.”

some thoughts about Chester/Jon, Norris/Martin and Augustus/Jonah
reasons why i think Chester, Norris and Augustus really are Jon, Martin and Jonah:
- Chester's statements: curiosity that consumes you, the magnus institute, doing something dangerous and scary because you get enjoyment from felling fear, voyeur as a film name (very subtle), all very very Jon-like
- Norris' statements: losing the person you love, the person you love is not themselves anymore, having to kill the person you love, loneliness, being left completely alone and starting to enjoy it, all very Martin-like (also mentions of jasmine, which you can make tea from. this is nothing but it amuses me)
- Augustus statements: willingly doing something at the cost of your and eventually other's wellbeing, thirst for power and doing whatever it takes to get it, the statement itself being written as a letter/will (granted these aren't the strongest connections to Jonah Magnus, but we've only heard Augustus once so I'm sure it'll be clearer when we hear more from him)
- Chester reading out the words 'a blast from the past'. i believe that Jon heard Sam saying this about the magnus institute and then chose to say it while he was in the room to attract his attention and get him to investigate further
- the voice actors are the same. this isn't really that strong of a connection, but given that Jonny and Alex are playing 'characters' whose names aren't official and could be revealed to be something/someone else is. very convenient
- we never heard Jonah Magnus' original voice, so i do believe that Augustus is him. I've seen ppl saying that Augustus is actually Leitner, but i don't think it is bcs i really don't see how he could serve the plot in any way. also his va isn't the same, and it could be true that they just decided to change it, but given that they literally decided to kill off sasha instead of tim bc her original va couldn't work with them longer, i highly doubt that's the case
- because i miss my boys and i said so
now that i convinced you that i am 100% correct and right about everything, here are my thoughts on what role they'll play in the overarching plot:
- first off, there's the question of wether or not Jon, Martin and Jonah are the ones spying on the OIAR and controlling the computers/cctv/speakers (all technology in the building basically)
- if they are, it means that them being freed is something that has to be an endgame thing, since there would be no in-universe explanation as to how we're still listening to the podcast if no one is spying on everyone. i don't think this will happen, because having characters from tma be the endgame for tmagp is kinda lame and doesn't let tmagp fully stand on its own
- there is the option of Jon being the big bad of the series/season??? which would be cool and also very tragic, seeing him finally loose the last shreds of humanity he has left, but again. having to consume a whole other piece of media in order to fully understand the first one is. very lame. i don't think they would ever do this
- the other option is them simply being trapped in whatever is actually controlling all the tech, which i think is actually the case. i think that this reality's version of the Web is the one in control (either of all the weird spying computers, or of the OIAR itself, much how the whole magnus institute was controlled by The Eye), and Jon, Martin and Jonah are trapped in it, which given how tma ended makes complete sense
- i think Jon and Martin are gonna get the Gerry Keay treatment. they're gonna show up somehow, help the characters out and explain the concept of fears to them, then they'll get killed or somehoew trapped again, or whatever other extremely tragic thing. they are way too op to become actual recurring characters of tmagp, not to mention that, again, this wouldn't really allow tmagp to stand on it's own as a story
- as for Jonah, i have absolutely no idea what his role could possibly be. i doubt he's going to be any kind of villain, but i also doubt he'd be helpful to any of the characters. this is the only thing that kinda makes me doubt that Augustus is Jonah, but i do still believe it's him, i just think it's too early to tell what his role may be
- the other alternative is that we never actually see Jon, Martin or Jonah. we get some sort of confirmation that it's them, most likely from a statement, but we never hear from them nor do the characters ever get to hear their story. honestly this would be the most tragic since Jon would become 'just another mystery' with the knowledge that he doomed another world, Martin would never get the chance to see Jon again and forever feel guilty for his death and Jonah would never get to reclaim his power or his immortality in any meaningful way
so yeah. anyway im very much invested in the mystery of tmagp and i can't wait for more info/clues

Okay so!!!! Overall I loved Phantasia ✨
I love the time travel stuff in old jrpgs and the overall style of the game is very much my cup of tea sjxk
I don't remember all of the story perfectly since it took me over a year to finish but uwahh it's pretty good! I did get a little emotional at the end of course. I wish I'd been better abt trying to catch skits tho bc I definitely think I missed a lot and I would've liked to get more attached to the characters (than I already was ajdksk) but in the end Chester is my favorite followed by Klarth ✨
I did uh. Sort of accidentally skip Suzu's village so I never got to know her but maybe on a replay or just reloading my save outside the final boss room I'll go check it out.
Anyway anyway I really loved that we got to know Dhaos' motivation in the end, and that all he was really trying to do was save his people on his own. Obviously his methods were pretty callous and force-driven but I liked that he was really still just a person, fighting for his beliefs like the rest of us. I always like that in Tales games tbh, even for the antagonists I'm less sympathetic for, bc it gives the story some really nice depths and realness to it.
Only thing that killed me playing this game was the plethora of random encounters and adapting to the battle system, which made it a bit tiring at times and is why I dropped it for so long, but I'm still really glad to have finished it.
And we did it! We saved the world and even if we can't undo what's been done and parting is bittersweet there's still a future to look forward to together :D
That did make me really sad tho.. that Klarth would return to his own time and since he's only human, would die before ever meeting us again. Even Arche has to wait a century before reuniting with Cress, Mint, and Chester. Ough.. having feelings.
Oh yeah the Eternal Sword was cool! Was it the same one as in Symphonia?? Or similar??? It's been a bit since my Symphonia playthrough so the details are muddled but it was the same idea of combining two swords and some stuff with Origin's power I think.
There's a lot of little interactions and things in this game I really like sjxk but we all know my favorite is Cress and Chester best friends and more forever <3 expect a qpr fic abt them from me eventually I love them

mmmmmguh thinking about ocs again. have some trivia
spice tolerance: as a fire mage marcus has a high tolerance to heat in general, but also a high tolerance for spicy foods :) he loves all kinds of spice and prefers flavors with at least some kind of kick to it i.e. his favorite tea is chai and his favorite fruits are citruses. you can give that boy a bottle of hot sauce and he will literally just chug it like a glass of beer and be fine lol. but please don't do that. on the other hand his sister nina and their friend chester have perfectly average and respectable spice tolerances. however miss katie "loses spicy food eating contests to a white boy" marrows has the world's worst spice tolerance it is so embarrassing <3 she can't put any spice on anything or she will be completely red in the face and the others love to rib on her about it (affectionately)
diets in general: marcus also has the biggest appetite among the group! he will be on his fourth sandwich and nina will be like "dude slow down" but he never does. what can he say the man loves food and needs lots of energy! ...to sit still in a dusty library all day and read books without moving ? well. katie is probably second though lol. you can find her in the kitchen in the middle of the night trying to covertly sneak a huge plate piled with pizza rolls and cheeses and meats back up to her room (and failing). the fact that she does not sleep is not healthy but she is incorrigible. in contrast chester bizarrely only eats a few times a day despite the fact that he should definitely need more fuel as an athlete. nina has to watch him hauling heavy equipment around everywhere like "why tf are you this strong all u eat is leaves."
actually most of these are binge eating because katie just plays video games for hours straight and then forgets to eat until it's stupid late/early in the morning + marcus gets really obsessive about his work and then crams in enough meals for three people all at once + chester overworks his body and then just Forgets. like he just Forgor. nina will also later develop her own overworking habits later on in the story and ironically her friends will be there to remind her to eat the same way she used to do for them :) other than that nina is the only one who's normal about it lol. except during holidays! she really goes all out because she LOVES the vibes she LOVES the carefree unity of everyone celebrating together it is so so addicting to her. if it's a special occasion you can always depend on nina to show up HARD and start feasting <33
favorite foods: nina lovessss sweets so so much! she also loves seafood :) nina also really dislikes vegetables and also oddly does not otherwise eat that much meat? and obviously as previously mentioned marcus is mr SPICE SPICE SPICE 100% >>>> but he will also eat his veggies. and unlike his sister he despises sweets lol marcus is the type of person that will fake a bite of cake at a birthday party and then sneak it to the dog under the table. he's also a soup fan, and will not eat fish, again unless the fish is in a soup. idk what it is with this boy and soup. katie's favorites are savory meats! she also has a bit of a sweet tooth herself, although for her she tends to prefer the richer sweets such as chocolates over anything too sugary. her fave flavor combo is chocolate and cheese! so obviously she's a fan of fondue. she's also known to eat a lot of junk food, sometimes she can be the "gamer girl" stereotype of "locked up in her room eating only potato chips and mountain dew"
gynawis: ok sorry I'm done talking about food lol. dlagynnawis is my (lazy, extremely barebones) conlang :) it's a foundational language that many other languages developed out of, was originally the language of dragons, can be found in many older documents and historical sites, and can functionally be considered this world's equivalent of latin* (in terms of how it is used and some of the areas in which it is studied.) gynawis is notable for it's lack of subject pronouns and emphasis on possessive pronouns, meaning that it has a different grammatical structure that doesn't make any sense if translated directly into english i.e. the common way to say "I walked through the park" would translate like "the walk through the park was mine" or sometimes just "my walk through the park" even though the latter reads as incomplete to us.
*however I do not think it can be considered a dead language
because dragons are highly respected and are still alive, although in extremely isolated communities, and because the language is still highly utilized (in science, law, religion, etc.) gynawis is a common second language taught in schools. katie is the most fluent of the group and often acts as a translator when they come across usage of it in the wild. marcus is decently fluid in it, at least enough to be comprehensible. chester is as well, but he has a heavy accent. nina's gynawis is complete dogshit lol my girl can only say like ten words <3 she was not passing that class

The Flash Season 10, Episode 15 - "Green Day"
Click "keep reading" to expand the entire script, or click here for the rest of the episodes!
FADE IN:
EXT. CITY STREET - DAY
A billionaire is walking down the street, talking on his phone when a green energy arrow hits him in the shoulder. He falls to the ground, dead.
EMERALD ARCHER (O.S.) (stepping out of the shadows) Looks like he couldn't keep his balance.
Emerald Archer, the Green Universe version of Oliver Queen, smirks as he looks at the lifeless body.
EMERALD ARCHER (CONT'D) (continuing his pun) But don't worry, I'll make sure his balance sheet is zeroed out.
He chuckles to himself and disappears into the shadows as people start to gather around the scene.
CUT TO:
TITLE CARD: "The Flash"
FADE OUT.
INT. STAR LABS - DAY
Iris, Chester, Allegra, and Snow-Green are gathered around Emerald as he lays on a bed in Star Labs. Iris hands the technology box to Chester.
IRIS: (to Chester) Can you use this to charge up the greenforce in Emerald?
CHESTER: I'll try my best.
Chester places the technology box on Emerald's chest and begins to tinker with it. Suddenly, Emerald's body starts to vibrate.
CHESTER: Whoa, this is crazy! I can feel the latent speedforce in him.
ALLEGRA: (smirks) Don't get too excited, Chester.
CHESTER: (laughs) I know, I know. I'm just saying, this is some powerful stuff.
ALLEGRA: (teasingly) I bet you're used to vibrations, huh?
Chester laughs, but Iris rolls her eyes.
IRIS: Can we please focus, guys?
SNOW-GREEN: (nods) She's right. We need to concentrate on charging the greenforce in Emerald.
Chester nods in agreement and continues to work on the technology box.
INT. HALLWAY OUTSIDE THE ROOM WITH RIDDLEMAN AND GREEN FURY
Green Fury walks down the hallway towards Riddleman's room, holding a small bottle of smelling salts. She unlocks the door and enters, finding Riddleman lying unconscious on the bed.
GREEN FURY: (softly) Wake up, my love.
RIDDLEMAN: (groaning) What…happened?
GREEN FURY: (offering the smelling salts) You passed out, but we need your help.
Riddleman takes a deep breath of the salts and awakens with a start.
RIDDLEMAN: (speaking in green-themed riddles) Green as the grass, I've been revived. But why do you need me, my Green Fury bride?
GREEN FURY: (taking his hand) Emerald needs our help. He's connected to the Emerald Archer, and we need to break that connection.
RIDDLEMAN: (nodding) I understand. Let us go and help our friend.
INT. STAR LABS MAIN ROOM
Green Fury and Riddleman enter the room to find Emerald vibrating on a table, with Allegra and Chester working on the technology box to charge up the greenforce.
GREEN FURY: (to the team) Any progress?
ALLEGRA: (frustrated) Not yet. It's like we're hitting a wall.
CHESTER: (wiping sweat from his brow) This is tougher than I thought it would be.
RIDDLEMAN: (speaking in riddles) The green energy within him is trapped, by the archer's power that overlaps. We must break the link, to revive the one on the brink.
IRIS: (entering the room) What's going on?
GREEN FURY: (to Riddleman) Can you help us sever the connection between Emerald and Emerald Archer?
RIDDLEMAN: (confidently) Of course, my love. But first, you must solve this riddle with a green theme, to help me unlock my mind's dream.
IRIS: (sighing) What's the riddle?
RIDDLEMAN: (speaking in riddles) What's green, has leaves but isn't a tree, and is used to make tea?
The team looks at each other, thinking hard about the answer.
FADE IN:
EXT. RAY PALMER'S OFFICE - NIGHT
Emerald Archer and Speedy Green are standing outside the door of Ray Palmer's office, their bows drawn and aimed at the door.
EMERALD ARCHER: (to Speedy Green) You ready to take out the competition?
SPEEDY GREEN: (smiling) Let's do this.
As they're about to shoot their arrows, a blast of green willpower energy knocks the arrows out of their hands.
EMERALD ARCHER: (turning around to face John Diggle Green Lantern) What the--?
JOHN DIGGLE: You're not going anywhere, Emerald Archer and Speedy Green.
Emerald Archer and Speedy Green readies their bows, but before they can shoot, Good Green Barry Allen runs up behind them and delivers a swift kick to the back of their knees, causing them to stumble.
GOOD GREEN BARRY: Hey, buddies. My speedster name is Good Green Barry Allen. Nice to meet you.
EMERALD ARCHER: Who the hell are you?
SPEEDY GREEN: Yeah, and what's with the "Good" Green?
GOOD GREEN BARRY: (smiling) I'm the good guy, you guys are the bad guys.
Emerald Archer and Speedy Green try to take shots, but Good Green Barry effortlessly dodges them.
SPEEDY GREEN: (grinning) Looks like we've got ourselves a speedster.
Emerald Archer fires an arrow at Good Green Barry, but he phases through it and lands a blow of his own. Meanwhile, Speedy Green is taking on John Diggle with a flurry of punches and kicks.
JOHN DIGGLE: (grinning) You two are no match for us.
Emerald Archer and Speedy Green try to regroup and fight back, but the battle rages on. The four of them engage in a fierce fight, with punches and arrows flying everywhere.
Despite their best efforts, none of them seems to gain the upper hand. The fight continues, with no clear winner in sight.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - DAY
Snow-Green is standing in front of the team, holding a piece of paper in her hand. Riddleman is standing beside her, twirling a green-tinted cane.
SNOW-GREEN: (smiling) The answer to your riddle is tea.
RIDDLEMAN: (applauding) Very good, Snow-Green. You're quite the clever one.
CHESTER: (reading from the paper) "Sever the ties between Green Ronnie and Green Thawne to gather the latent speedforce energy inside and use it to charge up Emerald and Barry."
IRIS: (nodding) It's worth a shot.
CECILE: (looking concerned) But how are we going to do that?
ALLEGRA: (thinking) Well, we know that Green Thawne is from the future, so maybe we can find a way to send him back.
SNOW-GREEN: (nodding) And if we can separate him from Green Ronnie, we might be able to harness that energy.
RIDDLEMAN: (smiling) Yes, yes, very good. The potential for success is clear, like the leaves on a green plant.
IRIS: (determined) Alright then, let's get to work.
The team starts to move out, preparing to execute their plan.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - DAY
Cecile and Joe are in a quiet corner of Star Labs, discussing ways in which Cecile could use her mind powers to assist the team.
JOE: Have you given any thought to how you can use your powers to help us with this Green Ronnie and Green Thawne situation?
CECILE: (thoughtful) Well, I've been trying to focus on amplifying my telepathic abilities. I'm hoping that I can tap into their thoughts and feelings, and maybe even influence their actions.
JOE:  (nodding) That could definitely come in handy. But what about your empathy? Do you think you could use that to track down any emotional connections between them?
CECILE: (considering) Hmm, that's a good idea. I could try to sense any residual emotional ties between them and then work on severing them.
JOE: (impressed) That's some next-level psychic work, Cecile. I have no doubt you'll be able to make it happen.
CECILE: (smiling) Thanks, Joe. I'm just happy to be able to help in any way I can.
The two share a brief moment of silence before returning to their work.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
EXT. STAR CITY - NIGHT
John Diggle Green Lantern and Good Green Barry Allen are in a fierce battle with Speedy Green and Emerald Archer.
EMERALD ARCHER: (parrying a blow from Good Green Barry) You know what's wrong with the world? Billionaires like Ray Palmer hoard wealth while people struggle just to survive.
GOOD GREEN BARRY: (landing a punch on Emerald Archer) I agree that wealth inequality is a serious problem, but that doesn't give you the right to destroy entire universes.
SPEEDY GREEN: (firing an arrow at John Diggle)  And what about the fact that the rich have the power to shape the world to their liking? That's not fair either.
JOHN DIGGLE: (blocking the arrow with his ring) I hear what you're saying, but you can't just take justice into your own hands. That's not how the law works.
The two sides continue to exchange blows, each trying to gain the upper hand. Emerald Archer and Speedy Green continue to make compelling arguments about the need for social and economic justice, while John Diggle and Good Green Barry argue that violence and destruction are not the answer.
EMERALD ARCHER: (grappling with Good Green Barry) We're not the villains here. We're fighting for what's right.
GOOD GREEN BARRY: (dodging an arrow from Speedy Green) There's a right way and a wrong way to fight for what you believe in. You're choosing the wrong way.
The battle rages on, with no clear end in sight.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - MAIN ROOM - DAY
Chester types furiously on his computer as the team watches eagerly. Suddenly, a green light emanates from his device and spreads through the room.
CHESTER: (grinning) We did it! Green Ronnie and Green Thawne are now two separate entities.
IRIS: (smiling) That's great news, Chester.
ALLEGRA: (holding up her hand) And I've got just the thing to get Barry and Emerald back in the game.
Allegra aims her light beam at Iris's wedding ring and it bounces off, hitting Barry, Emerald, and Thawne.
BARRY: (opening his eyes) Whoa. What happened?
EMERALD: (also opening his eyes) I feel… different.
CHESTER: (jokingly) And Thawne's now a vibrating husk on the floor. Sorry not sorry.
IRIS: (turning to Barry) Are you ready?
BARRY: (nodding) Let's do this.
Barry suits up and takes Emerald with him as they exit STAR Labs.
CUT TO:
EXT. CENTRAL CITY - DAY
Barry and Emerald run through the streets of Central City, scanning the area for any sign of Emerald Archer.
EMERALD: (breathing heavily) This is insane. How do you do this all the time?
BARRY: (smiling) You get used to it.
Suddenly, they hear the sound of arrows whistling through the air.
EMERALD: (drawing his bow) That must be Emerald Archer.
Barry speeds ahead while Emerald takes cover behind a nearby building. As Barry dodges the arrows, he spots Emerald Archer on a rooftop.
BARRY: (calling out) Stop this, Emerald Archer. We can help you.
EMERALD ARCHER: (smirking) Sorry, Flash. But I have a job to do.
Emerald Archer fires an arrow at Barry, who manages to catch it in mid-air.
BARRY: (grinning) Nice try.
Barry throws the arrow back at Emerald Archer, but he easily dodges it.
EMERALD ARCHER: (laughing) Is that all you've got?
BARRY: (smiling) Not even close.
Barry charges forward, punching Emerald Archer in the face. Meanwhile, Emerald takes aim at the rooftop and fires an arrow at John Diggle and Good Green Barry, who are still fighting Speedy Green.
EMERALD: (calling out) Duck!
John Diggle and Good Green Barry quickly dodge the arrow, giving them the chance to take down Speedy Green.
EMERALD: (smiling) Nice shot.
BARRY: (grinning) You're not so bad yourself.
The two heroes regroup and prepare to take on Emerald Archer together.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - MAIN ROOM - DAY
Riddleman is sitting in a corner, surrounded by green-themed riddles that he's scribbled on pieces of paper. He looks distraught, mumbling to himself in riddles.
RIDDLEMAN: What's green and red and goes a million miles an hour? My heart, breaking with every second that I'm like this.
Snow-Green approaches him with a reassuring smile.
SNOW-GREEN: Hey, Riddleman. How are you doing?
RIDDLEMAN: What's green and has a broken heart? This guy.
Iris, Allegra, Chester, and Cecile watch from a distance.
IRIS: (whispering to Allegra) We need to find Emerald Archer before it's too late.
ALLEGRA: (nodding) I'm on it.
CHESTER: (smiling) And I'm on making sure Thawne doesn't pull any tricks.
Cecile walks up to Riddleman, placing a hand on his shoulder.
CECILE: Riddleman, can you hear me?
RIDDLEMAN: What's green and can hear everything but still can't get through to the love of his life? Me.
CECILE: (smiling) Listen, I can try to enter your mind and help you. Would you like that?
RIDDLEMAN: What's green and wants nothing more than to be fixed? Me.
Cecile closes her eyes and focuses her mind, entering Riddleman's "mind palace." The scene ends as she disappears into his subconscious.
FADE OUT.
INT. MULTIVERSE - FIGHT SCENE - CONTINUOUS
John Diggle Green Lantern and Good Green Barry Allen are taking a beating from Emerald Archer and Speedy Green. John Diggle Green Lantern grunts as he blocks an arrow with his green energy shield.
JOHN DIGGLE GREEN LANTERN We can't keep this up much longer.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (panting) I know. But we have to keep fighting. We can't let them win.
Emerald Archer smirks as she knocks Good Green Barry Allen to the ground with a well-placed arrow.
EMERALD ARCHER You're fighting for a world that doesn't deserve you. Why bother?
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (struggling to stand) Because it's the right thing to do. It's what heroes do.
John Diggle Green Lantern steps in front of Good Green Barry Allen, using his power ring to create a shield to protect them both.
JOHN DIGGLE GREEN LANTERN I've always loved you, Barry.
Good Green Barry Allen looks at John Diggle Green Lantern, touched.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (smiling) I know. And I've always loved you, too.
Suddenly, regular Barry and Emerald arrive, ready to help.
REGULAR BARRY ALLEN Hey, guys! We've got an idea.
Good Green Barry Allen nods, and regular Barry whispers something in his ear.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (grinning) I think it just might work.
The scene ends as they prepare to put their plan into action.
INT. STAR LABS - RIDDLEMAN'S LAB
Cecile closes her eyes and concentrates, reaching out with her mind to enter Riddleman's mind palace. She finds herself in a dark, ominous place filled with green riddles floating in the air.
CECILE (whispering) Hello? Is anyone here?
Suddenly, a small, frightened boy appears before her. He has Riddleman's face and is surrounded by a group of mocking children.
BOY RIDDLEMAN (tearfully) Who are you?
CECILE (smiling) My name is Cecile. I'm here to help.
BOY RIDDLEMAN (scared) You can't help me. This is the Riddle universe. Nobody understands me.
CECILE (calmly) I understand. But I'm here to tell you that it's okay to be yourself. You don't have to hide behind riddles anymore.
BOY RIDDLEMAN (incredulous) What do you mean?
CECILE (gently) You don't have to be afraid of being different. You're special just the way you are.
BOY RIDDLEMAN (smiling) Really?
CECILE (nodding) Really. And you don't have to be scared anymore. I'm going to help you.
Cecile reaches out and touches the boy's forehead. He begins to glow with a bright green light and suddenly transforms into a confident, grown-up Riddleman.
RIDDLEMAN (amazed) Cecile! You did it!
CECILE (smiling) I just helped you see the truth. You were never broken, Riddleman. You just needed to believe in yourself.
RIDDLEMAN (thankful) Thank you, Cecile. Thank you so much.
Cecile nods and begins to exit the mind palace, leaving Riddleman behind. As she opens her eyes, she sees Riddleman standing before her, his eyes clear and free of fear.
RIDDLEMAN (grateful) Cecile, I don't know how to thank you.
CECILE (smiling) Just keep being the brilliant, green-themed riddle master that you are. And remember, it's okay to be yourself.
The two embrace, and the scene fades to black.
EXT. CENTRAL CITY - NIGHT
Good Green Barry Allen and Regular Universe Barry Allen stand in front of Speedy Green and Emerald Archer, who are both looking downcast.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (angrily) You know what the problem with you two is? You've never known love. You've only known hate and revenge.
Regular Universe Barry Allen nods in agreement.
REGULAR UNIVERSE BARRY ALLEN Love is the most powerful force in the universe. It can conquer anything.
Speedy Green and Emerald Archer exchange a glance.
SPEEDY GREEN (sadly) I've never known love. Only the pain of losing my father.
EMERALD ARCHER (sadly) And I've only known the desire for revenge.
Regular Universe Barry Allen steps forward and puts his hand on Emerald Archer's shoulder.
REGULAR UNIVERSE BARRY ALLEN (empathetically) But it's never too late to change. You can choose to let go of the anger and the pain, and open your heart to love.
Emerald Archer looks at Regular Universe Barry Allen, tears welling up in his eyes.
EMERALD ARCHER (sadly) I don't know if I can.
Good Green Barry Allen steps forward and takes Emerald Archer's other shoulder.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (optimistically) You can. We all have the capacity for love. You just have to let go of the past and open yourself up to it.
Emerald Archer nods, and Speedy Green looks at them both with a small smile.
SPEEDY GREEN (gratefully) Thank you.
Suddenly, Speedy Green and Emerald Archer are enveloped in a bright green light and disappear.
REGULAR UNIVERSE BARRY ALLEN (surprised) What just happened?
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (excitedly) I think they've been absorbed into the greenforce!
John Diggle Green Lantern flies over to them.
JOHN DIGGLE GREEN LANTERN (looking relieved) Thank goodness. It looks like we've won.
Good Green Barry Allen turns to Regular Universe Barry Allen.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (whispering) I have an idea. Follow my lead.
The scene ends with Good Green Barry Allen and Regular Universe Barry Allen whispering to each other, but we don't get to hear what they're saying.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - NIGHT
The team is celebrating their victory with a foam party. Good Green Barry Allen and regular Barry Allen are standing together, covered in foam.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN: I can't thank you enough for your help, man. You saved me back there.
REGULAR BARRY ALLEN: (smiling) No problem. That's what we do here.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN: You know, in my original timeline, I died because of a lack of green energy. But I must have been revived when Iris created the time vortex.
REGULAR BARRY ALLEN: (puzzled) That's… interesting. I never even thought about that.
Good Green Barry Allen nods and takes a sip of his drink. Meanwhile, John Diggle Green Lantern walks over to them.
JOHN DIGGLE GREEN LANTERN: (to Good Green Barry Allen) Ready to go back?
Good Green Barry Allen nods and turns to regular Barry Allen.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN: Goodbye, Barry. I hope we'll see each other again.
REGULAR BARRY ALLEN: (smiling) I'm sure we will. Take care.
John Diggle Green Lantern and Good Green Barry Allen share a kiss and disappear in a flash of green light, returning to the green universe.
As the foam party continues, Barry stands deep in thought, pondering the implications of what Good Green Barry Allen had just told him.
FADE OUT.
INT. STAR LABS - FOAM PARTY - NIGHT
The foam party is in full swing. Everyone is dancing and having a good time. Suddenly, Snow-Green and Emerald step up to the center of the room.
SNOW-GREEN: Excuse me, everyone! Emerald and I have something to announce.
EMERALD: We've decided to return to the Green Universe to start a new life together.
Everyone looks surprised.
SNOW-GREEN: We want to thank you all for your friendship and support.
Suddenly, Green Fury steps forward.
GREEN FURY: Wait just a minute. I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying in this universe.
EMERALD: But Green Fury, why?
GREEN FURY: I'm staying because I want to be with the love of my life, Riddleman.
RIDDLEMAN: (becoming emotional) Green Fury…
Cecile puts her arm around Riddleman and speaks to him softly.
IRIS: Well, as happy as we are for Snow-Green and Emerald, we have our own news.
Allegra places her hand on her stomach.
ALLEGRA: Iris and I are still pregnant.
CHESTER: (in a funny tone) Well, I guess the universe will just have to wait for another speedster to arrive.
Everyone laughs.
IRIS: Alright, who's up for pizza?
Everyone cheers and starts making their way to the kitchen.
As they exit the room, the camera lingers on Green Fury and Riddleman. They are lost in each other's eyes.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - CONTINUOUS
Riddleman takes Green Fury aside, looking nervous.
RIDDLEMAN: (rambling in riddles) My love for you is like a green tea blend, A concoction of sweetness that'll never end. In the Green Universe, you're the queen, But here in this universe, you make my heart sing.
Green Fury looks touched and takes his hand.
GREEN FURY: (smiling) Riddleman, I love you too.
Suddenly, a loud noise interrupts them, and they turn to see a blender turning on by itself. The vortex begins to form behind Riddleman, and he is pulled towards it.
RIDDLEMAN: (panicking) Green Fury! I had something important to ask you!
GREEN FURY: (concerned) What is it?
RIDDLEMAN: (shouting over the noise) Will you marry me?!
Green Fury looks shocked but doesn't get a chance to respond as Riddleman is pulled into the vortex.
GREEN FURY: (calling after him) Riddleman!
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
EXT. STAR LABS - NIGHT
The camera pans to Star Labs, where everyone is still picking up blenders and shaking them, trying to find Riddleman.
Suddenly, a blender turns on and a portal opens up, and out comes Supergirl herself, wearing a Riddler hat.
SUPERGIRL: Hey, guys! Did somebody say riddles?
Iris and Allegra look at each other in disbelief.
IRIS: Supergirl? What are you doing here? And why are you wearing a Riddler hat?
SUPERGIRL: (long pause) You know, sometimes you just have to mix things up a little. (smirks)
CHESTER: But how did you get here?
SUPERGIRL: I was chasing a villain through the multiverse, and I stumbled upon this universe by accident. I guess I got a little lost.
ALLEGRA: But why are you wearing a Riddler hat?
SUPERGIRL: I made a deal with the Riddler. He promised to give me a clue to where the villain was headed if I wore this hat for a day. And here I am.
IRIS: Well, we're glad you're here. Maybe you can help us find Riddleman.
SUPERGIRL: Riddleman? Who's Riddleman?
The camera zooms in on Iris's face as the scene ends.
FADE TO BLACK.

By the time they had finished stripping half of the room, the downstairs foyer was full of neighbors. People were moving slowly between the living room and dining room, forming quiet clusters of conversations that kept breaking and shifting as someone left to greet a newcomer, refill a coffee cup, or help themselves to the cold buffet that was laid out on a sideboard in the dining room. Willie and Lester walked along the banister in the darkened upstairs hallway, trying to locate Parker in the crowd. Lester recognized quite a few faces from First Crescent Drive, and his mother was sitting in the corner of the living room with a plate balanced on her lap. They finally spotted Parker seated quietly in the dining room at the head of a large oval table with a glass top and a centerpiece of white tea roses. The twelve chairs around the table were continually changing occupants. As soon as someone finished eating, another person would take his place, carrying one of the clear glass plates, which were stacked on the sideboard. From the second floor, the brass chandelier reflected the changing faces bent over the tabletop as clearly as a mirror.
Lester tried to get Parker’s attention without calling out, but he sat with his eyes lowered to his lap and his plate untouched. Mrs. Donnell sat beside him and occasionally she would lean over, pat his arm, and urge him to eat.
“Oh Christ, how are we gonna get him up here?” Lester whispered. “He’s down there playing the grieving husband.”
“He won’t have to play soon when we tell him we ain’t finishing that room. Maybe we could throw a note down into his lap or something.”
“Well, let’s just wait a minute. Maybe his neck will get tired and he’ll change expressions. And when he moves into one of those anguished appeals to heaven and rolls his eyes up here, we’ll signal him.”
But for the next five minutes all they could see was the light bouncing off Parker’s smooth bald spot and occasional reflections from his rimless bifocals in the glass tabletop. Then a bloated hum started at the other end of the table and rose above the quiet murmurs in the rest of the room before a woman’s sharp voice cut into it.
“Bob, this isn’t the time or place to bring that up.”
“Well, I still think it’s a damned shame,” the man beside her almost shouted.
Parker’s head swung up toward that end of the table. “What? What’s a shame?” His whisper, carrying the import of the bereaved, silenced the others. “Now don’t be too hasty, Bob. Believe me, Lycentia would have wanted it that way, she was always saying—”
“Lycentia was the first one to bring it to my attention, Chester—God rest her soul—and she was dead set against it.”
Parker began to tremble, little rings of moisture forming on his bifocals. “Why, that’s not possible. She—”
“Chester, just last month she told me she had all the petitions in to the city commissioner and she was sure the council was going to impose that zoning restriction. Now I get the news today that they overturned our petition. And I think it’s a damned shame, that’s all. Because all that aggravation is probably what killed her—excuse me, Chester—this may not be the time for all this. But with all that woman’s hard work, the city’s still going to erect that housing project.”
Forks clattered all around the table. “What?”
“There has to be some mistake.”
“Mistake, my eye. Where’s Bryan?” Bob twisted around in his chair toward the dining room door. “Bryan, you’re the councilman for this district, so I know you’ve got the inside dope. Didn’t the planning commission use our petitions for toilet paper last week?”
“Now, Bob, it wasn’t quite like that.” The champagne-colored man cleared his throat. “There was a lot of time spent considering all the issues involved. And certainly the feelings of this community were given quite a bit of weight. Why, I personally made a vehement appeal and used every ounce of influence I could to be sure that your views were given a fair hearing—just as I did for the new sewage plant and the renovation of those vacant lots across—”
“Cut the mumbo-jumbo,” Bob interrupted him. “We heard all that when we elected you. All we want to know is did they or did they not approve of building those low-income projects.”
“Yes, but—”
“See!” Bob turned back to the table.
“But by a small margin.” Bryan tried to raise his voice above the scattered outbursts. “Bob, you and the others have got to understand that there has been a lot of pressure on the mayor to do something about the living conditions in Putney Wayne. People are over there in tenements that should have been condemned years ago. There’s no heat in most of them and at times no water. The health department reported three cases of diphtheria within six months—and it’s no wonder, the way they live. And one of the kids who caught it last year died recently, so your petition was just bad timing, that’s all. It’s not my fault. People were starting to talk epidemic.”
“Well, you can’t help but feel sorry for those mothers,” one of the women said, “but the city should just renovate the housing that’s already there. God knows they milk us enough as it is for services we’ll never use—all that welfare and food stamps. You know what it costs just to print up those stamps—it’s scandalous.”
“It’s not that simple, Mildred. The city has to apply for federal funds to undertake any building plans and there are regulations about size and number of units. It’s really less expensive for you if they build an entirely new complex.”
“Yeah, sure,” Bob said. “And then they’ve got to fill those units and that means you’re doubling the size of Putney Wayne in half the space. Then we get a whole army of them right across Wayne Avenue. Practically in our backyards. So you can kiss your safe streets good-bye.”
“And just about everything else in our homes. You fill up the neighborhood with people like that, the next thing you know your TV’s and stereos are walking out the door.”
“Well, crime is everywhere. If worse comes to worst, you can always get extra security for your homes. But what about our children? The local schools are overcrowded as it is. We’ve managed to maintain a pretty decent standard of education so far, but this is just going to swing the ratio too far over. And I refuse to have my child suffer because the teachers will be overloaded with a lot of remedial cases and troublemakers.”
“Thank God I don’t have to send my Ernestine to these public schools.”
“Well, if the council gets their way, we’ll all have to take our children out of these schools—for their own sakes.”
“Yeah, or the next thing you know, they’ll be coming home with drugs and knives.”
Upstairs, Lester touched Willie’s arm. “Just listen to them,” he whispered. “Any minute, someone’s gonna say, ‘The next thing you know, they’ll be marrying your daughter.’ Let’s get out of here before I throw up.”
Willie motioned for Lester to wait. He hadn’t really been listening so much as looking down into the faces that were looking up through the clear dinner plates from the glass-topped table. And something was haunting him about the rhythm of the knives and forks that cut into the slices of roast beef. Click-scrape. Click-scrape. Click-scrape. Click-scrape. Now, where had he heard that before? Click-scrape. Click-scrape … These days-of dis-inheritance. Yeah, that was it. These days of disinheritance, we feast on human heads … The plates never seemed empty of the brown and bloody meat. The utensils worked their way from center to edge, exposing an ear here, a chin there. Parts of a mouth, a set of almond-shaped eyes.
The church bells clap one night in the week.
But that’s all done. It is what used to be,
As they used to lie in the grass, in the heat,
Men on green buds and women half of sun.
The words are written, though not yet said.
Willie knew it was just an illusion. Those plates were actually being emptied, so the clicking and scraping couldn’t go on forever. They had to stop in spite of what he was seeing. They had to put those forks down.
But the voices were beginning to circle the dining room in a fevered crescendo accompanied by a steady metallic tempo from the table.
“I hope they don’t expect us to take this lying down.”
“What is this—South Africa? As decent citizens and taxpayers, we should have something to say about what these officials do.”
“Does Nedeed know about this?”
“Bryan, what should be our next move?” Bob asked. “We can’t let it end here.”
“Well, your community isn’t the only one that’s upset about the proposal. I was talking to Phil Mackelberg, the councilman who represents Spring Vale, and he’d just met with an ad hoc committee from the Wayne County Citizens Alliance, and it seems that they’ve been working to place this proposal on a referendum in the next election. It could be stopped in November.” He cleared his throat nervously and glanced around the room. “But it would mean that Linden Hills would have to form a coalition with Spring Vale and the Wayne County Citizens Alliance in order to get enough support to defeat it.”
“I’m for it,” Bob said.
Willie whispered, “But I thought that Alliance was the Ku Klux Klan without a Southern accent?”
Lester shook his head. “Naw, just without the sheets.”
There was an uneasy stirring downstairs.
“I don’t know, we’ve had our differences with that group in the past.”
“Yeah, but you have to sweep all that junk under the carpet.”
“We’ve never needed them before—I don’t see why we can’t fight our own battles.”
“It’s not just our battle. Linden Hills has got to realize that we’re part of a whole city. And if we don’t hang with the Citizens Alliance then we’ll hang separately.”
“Well, I think this entire conversation is a disgrace!” Mrs. Donnell shouted. “Here we are turning this man’s home into a public forum and his wife’s funeral is tomorrow.” She pressed Parker’s arm. “Chester, you haven’t heard a word we’ve said. I can imagine all the things on your mind right now.”
“Oh, no, no.” Parker looked up from his lap and focused on his guests. “Bob was right. Lycentia spent her last days working on that petition. She would often say to me, ‘Chester, I’m going to do everything in my power to keep those dirty niggers out of our community.’ And this evening is in her honor.” He smiled weakly around the table. “So please, there’s more roast beef, folks.”
There was total silence for a moment. Gradually the people who were standing drifted out of the dining room, and the twelve seated around the table bent their hands over their plates in rapt attention to the music of their cutlery on the transparent surfaces.
It is like the season when, after summer,
It is summer and it is not, it is autumn
And it is not, it is day and it is not,
As if last night’s lamp continued to burn,
As if yesterday’s people continued to watch
The sky, half porcelain, preferring that
To shaking out heavy bodies in the glares
Of this present, this science, this unrecognized.
Willie sighed. “You’re right, I’ve heard enough. Let’s do what we have to and get out of here.”
Lester went back into the bedroom and Willie was about to follow him when the doorbell rang and seemed to echo from every glass surface in the room. The crystal balls on the chandelier even tinkled. Luther Nedeed came into the dining room, carrying a cellophane-wrapped cake. He was the only guest Willie had seen bringing food that night, and it surprised him. He knew that his family always fried chicken and baked stuff for a wake and so it was the last thing he expected to see done in Linden Hills. Willie lingered in the upstairs hall a moment and watched Luther as he hesitated in front of the buffet. There was no space for his bundle next to the ornate array of catered food.
“Nice of you to come, Luther.” Parker got up and took the cake from him.
“I guess I have to become accustomed to these modern ways.” Luther seemed embarrassed. “In my time, friends and neighbors always supplied the food for these types of occasion.”
“Of course, of course.” Parker blinked at him. “But I didn’t want folks going to a lot of trouble.”
“It was no trouble, my wife baked it. She sends her regards, Chester, but she’s not up to coming out tonight. And although I’ve been able to serve you in an official capacity in your time of loss, I felt I should come tonight in my unofficial capacity as a neighbor.”
“Yes, haven’t seen your missus in ages. Lycentia had mentioned something about a cruise, wasn’t it? Did she enjoy it?”
“Immensely, but it’s left her somewhat drained, so we’ve decided that she spend Christmas with relatives to save her the strain of entertaining. We’re planning something for the spring.”
“Well, I must give her a call as soon as the holidays are over,” one of the women said. “This has been a dreadfully busy season with the Alcott wedding and poor Lycentia passing.”
“Yes, yes.” Parker nodded. “Everything is all up in the air. When I think about the plans that Lycentia and I had. But she always said to me, ‘Chester—’”
“I’m sure, Chester,” Luther said as he stared straight into his eyes, “that whatever plans you may still have won’t be terribly disrupted.” Parker almost cringed under his gaze. “Because,” Luther continued slowly, “Lycentia would have wanted it that way.”
“Oh, yes, Luther.” Parker began to chatter. “Yes, she would have. Why, just before you came in we were all talking about—”
“I know what everyone in this house was talking about.” Luther took in the entire room with his dark, immobile face, and Willie felt the urge to move back into the shadowed hallway upstairs. “The same thing that’s been discussed every time two or three people from Linden Hills have gotten together lately. And I can tell you that it’s all been taken care of. The Tupelo Realty board met with the Wayne County Citizens Alliance today and there’s little doubt that the referendum on the housing project will be put on the ballot next November. Now, the only thing left is to vote on it, and with our combined efforts there’s no chance of it getting through.”
“Now, there’s a man who’s talking sense,” Bob said. “Luther, I’ve been trying to tell these folks that we all have a responsibility to the welfare of this county, and if the Alliance can see through that and work with us, then we should work with them. It’s not about black or white, it’s about our civic duty.”
“It’s nothing of the kind.” Luther’s voice was soft and low, but it carried throughout the room. “You know, Bob, my father often said, ‘Lie to everyone in this man’s world if need be, but never lie to yourself, because that’s the quickest road to destruction.’ The Wayne County Citizens Alliance is full of some of the most despicable racists on this side of the continent. And there isn’t a soul in this room that doesn’t know that.” Luther almost smiled at the expression on their faces. “And you’re only saved from being beneath their contempt because your education and professional status are above reproach and, more often than not, above theirs. But the people who would move into that new development don’t have that saving grace, so the Alliance is free to engage in myths about inferior schools and deteriorating neighborhoods while all they’re really fearing is the word nigger. And they’ve no intention of letting this county finance a breeding ground for their nightmares.
“We must give them credit for one thing: they’ve become civilized enough by now to recognize that there are two types—the safe ones that they feel they can control and trust not to spill tea on their carpets while they use a dozen euphemisms to form a coalition to keep the other type from moving too close. And I suppose that since I’ve just spent an entire afternoon listening to all that, I’m a bit reluctant to hear it all again tonight from you.”
“Now, Luther, that’s a bit harsh.” Bob pushed the meat around on his plate. “If you really thought that, you wouldn’t have been able to meet with those people.”
“I met with them and I’ll vote with them.” And this time he did smile. “Because I know that their nightmares are real enough to send them running from the other side of the hill. Real enough to get this entire district red-lined through the banks, and my realty company wouldn’t be able to finance another mortgage, and I’d have to watch the property values of Linden Hills go plunging into an abyss. And do you think I’m going to let that happen because a handful of fools can’t stomach the thought of living next to another group of people that happen to look like me?”
Willie wanted to applaud Nedeed. He had said all the things that Willie had wanted to hang over that banister and shout: Yeah, you turkeys, I’m one of those people in Putney Wayne you didn’t want near you. Maybe I don’t carry a wallet full of credit cards, but I’ve never carried a switchblade, either. Lester should have been out here for this. At least Nedeed was honest—Willie looked down at the suffocated room—deadly honest.
No one at the table was eating. Wineglasses were turned, napkins wiped clean mouths, and coffee cups were stirred. One woman got up and left the table without a word, but no one’s head followed her out of the room. Luther picked up a clean plate, filled it, and took her seat, completing the circle of twelve. His knife and fork caught the rays from the chandelier as he delicately sliced into the tender meat. He chewed slowly and looked around the table.
“Is everyone else finished as well? I hope not, since I’ve brought dessert—and I hate eating alone.”
One by one, the other knives and forks were lifted as the meal continued with the pathetic motions of children being forced to eat. The rhythm of the utensils was much fainter now, but Willie could still hear it plainly upstairs because it went unchallenged by any conversation. They cut. They chewed. They swallowed.
This outpost, this douce, this dumb, this dead, in which
We feast on human heads, brought in on leaves,
Crowned with the firsi, cold buds. On these we live,
No longer on the ancient cake of seed,
The almond and deep fruit. This bitter meat
Sustains us … Who, then, are they, seated here?
Is the table a mirror in which they sit and look?
Are they men eating reflections of themselves?
Realizing that no one else was going to speak, Willie went into the bedroom. Lester was carrying fresh water out of the bathroom for the steamer.
“Hey, White, I was just about to come get you. I thought you got lost.”
“Naw, Nedeed came in and I wanted to get a better look at him.”
“Christ, I bet they’re down there bending his ears with their gripes.”
“No,” Willie said. “As a matter of fact, they all shut up. Now they’re just eating.”

1 - The Kingdom of Astrape! (Astrape is the greek goddess of lightning, so I figured it'd work for Duarte's whole lightning motif :DD)
2 - She gets along well with Modern, even if it's mildly out of pity. (ily modern!duarte but you're a wet cat). She fucking hates Mafia. She claims its because they're too arrogant and cold, but it's also somewhat out of jealousy. Mafia!Duarte is the only Duarte with her shit together, and that sort of pisses her off.
3 - Am I worthy of forgiveness?
4 - Harpoon-wielding, existential-dread fueled artiste
5 - Duarte sighs, and pinches the bridge of her nose. "No, it's- it's alright. I understand, I really do."
She sets her teacup down onto the table, the liquid now cold and disgusting. She'd never really been one for tea anyway. "I've been training to take the throne since I was old enough to sign my name- perhaps younger." She laughs to herself. "It's my life. It always has been, and I wouldn't change that for the world."
Her nails tap against the saucer she'd rested her cup on, the noise shrill and brisk, cutting through the awkward silence of the room like a knife. "But it can be hard to separate the politics from the people, sometimes. To keep those parts of life separate can be a mammoth task." She continues. "So I understand the struggle. And it really isn't a bother if you wish to keep speaking like that. Your choice."
6 - (wow. right in front of my salad?)
Duarte feels bile rise in their throat. Nausea clouds their vision, turning the world blurry, a mirage of brush strokes. She wants to puke. But she can't. Because that would be the wrong, answer, she knows that.
She swallows the vomit and plasters a smile across her face. Her hands turn into fists, otherwise she would surely pick the skin off of them. She fights against her vocal chords to keep her voice even, level. "It sure is somethi- it's great, Chester. Great."
She feels electricity riot beneath her skin, trying to get out, prompted by the adrenaline. Raw energy. She's won fights with it before. Gotten out of so many scrapes with hunters, so many traps and ambushes.
But would it help her here? With this thing masquerading as her friend? Her Chester was wily, fast. A skilled fighter. The only thing she might've had over him was brute strength. But would it be the same with this Chester? Was this a fight she could win?
It was a risk she was unwilling to take. Just bide your time, then run. She forced the electricity down, and spoke again. "So, uh- you got a favourite?"
Currently having a horror marathon, which means I watched a horror movie, got scared so I couldn't sleep, had to watch more horror movies to stay entertained instead of sleeping, got more scared and am now trapped in a vicious cycle lmao
Questions/ Scenarios to try and distract us!!! :D
1) Royal! AU
What Kingdom is your Bug Prince/Princess/Royalty of?
2) One AU of themself that they like, and one that they can't stand
3) A question they've had for a while but have never been able to find an answer to?
4) How would you describe your Bug in one sentence, then how would your Bug describe you in one sentence?
5) Scenario #1 (Royalty! AU)
Bug and Chester had met a few times, their Kingdoms were having some troubles regarding trading/ stock prices between them and so had been having many discussions to try and sort that out.
Bug and Chester were being dragged along, apparently it was to 'get them some experience in dealing with issues peacefully, via democracy' when in reality they were being dragged there simply to talk and strengthen the bond between the Kingdoms.
This was the fourth meeting this month, this being the third month of these conferences happening, everyone was a bit sick of it by now. This time Chester and his family had come over to Bugs Kingdom. The two were ushered of, as usual, into a side room where they were, once again, told to remain until discussions were over.
"Well, it's a pleasure to see you again *Bugs Surname*. It's unfortunate these meetings have had to keep occurring, I'm sure it's a strain on you and the current Crown of your Kingdom. I do apologise if any of that is my or my familys fault"
Bug didn't respond at first, the two were sat at a round table, teacups delicately placed infront of them and a plate of snacks in the middle. These conferences usually went on for a while, usually hours though sometimes they would stay at the palace overnight and continue talks in the morning so it was rather boring.
When Bug finally did respond, they questioned why he was so uptight all the time? They'd met about a million times by now and he still acts as though this was their first meeting and thay he has to be the 'face of the family'. Why is he still like that?
"Oh, I apologise I...guess I don't even notice. I swear I'm not trying to be hostile towards you, no that's not my intent at all! It's just difficult, given how long I've spent trapped back home with only my parents really to talk to and well they demand I speak like that all the time so I assume its a force of habit. I'm sorry, I probably come across as quite rude, I don't mean to be really-"
He was rambling now, he knew he was so he sipped at his cup of tea in an attempt to silence himself. An embarrassed flush spread across his face as he stared down into the smooth liquid, spinning around freely in his cup. He had said too much, probably ruined the entire afternoon...fucking idiot
Bug?
6) Au Crossover time! (Swap & Bloodmoon Swap)
(I wanna talk about the head system)
Bug (Swap! AU) had decided they needed to go for a walk, it had been a long day. The group were forced to go out for an emergency resource trip into town, they were spotted multiple times and almost caught every few minutes. It was a shock they all got home thay night. Fortunately though everything was fine, but Bug had been left stressed so was gonna get some fresh air.
They walked into the swamps, the light in the sky fading darker as they went on. It was peaceful, they could hear the wind, gliding past the grass, the stream running nearby, it was perfectly calm...until they saw something odd in the sky ahead.
There seemed to be a rift in the sky, as if they were looking through a window to a different place. They sky was duller...red even, the ground wasn't green on the other side, it was dark, a red-ish brown, nearly black. It was gloomy, frightening even. But Bug assumed it was simply a trick of the light so pushed forward, as they walked through the glass like haze they felt a jolt. Like something...changed, but they couldn't say what.
They kept walking, trying to ignore how silent it had suddenly become. After walking for what felt like hours they decided to turn back, try to find where they bad come from...but they couldn't find their way. They were lost in this dark, different place. They knew they had to find a way out of there.
They heard a familiar scuffle from up in the trees, they glanced up, that tail...
Chester? Bug called out, asking if he knew what was going on. But he simply ran off, they decided he was their best shot at getting back so followed the sound of him speeding through the branches. Eventually he led them back to a small hut, high up in branches, a tree house. There was a bit of light shining through the small window, and a silhouette of a familiar half-blood slinking into the house.
They followed, climbing as quickly as they could. As they got closer they noticed an odd odur seeping from the hut, a gross decaying smell. They tried to ignore it..but it was so strong, their head began to ache as they pushed froward.
Reaching the top they pushed their way into the house...what the fuck. The walls...they were covered in heads, decaying, body-less heads. They were from a range of people...not just people, half-bloods too, no two the same...except from one thing. All the heads had blond hair, many different shades of blond, some closer to ginger, some more white, but they were all blond.
The heads on the walls weren't the only remains around though, piles of heads were stacked around the house...none of them had blind hair. These were the rejects, the heads he collected but couldn't display as they didn't have the trait he was looking for.
As Bug stood there trying to comprehend what on earth was going on a voice rung out from behind them
"So...do you like it?"
They spin round to see Chester...but not the Chester they knew. This one was damaged, broken. Covered in stitches, wounds, a sick, demented smile spread over his face as he stepped out of the shadows
"My collection...reminders of all those I saved, I made sure they would be safe from the terrors of the world...like a good brother"
He fell silent awaiting your Bugs response, do they like his collection?

What additional smell would be in Freyja's Amortentia if she was interested in Chester Davies or Duncan after her school years? What would they smell if they were interested in her? Also, any chance you could include some extra Chester x Freyja adorableness? I seriously love them!
Ah, time for me to get back on my ship-tease bullshit again is it? 👀
Tumblr media
February 1999.
Valentine’s Day “sales” are in full swing. Among all this is a seemingly innocent promotion at a sweet shop for chocolates guaranteed to bring that special someone closer to you. Samples given out to unsuspecting Muggles seem to result in love-like obsessive behaviour displayed by those who eat them. So Freyja is tasked with breaking in paying an after-hours visit to the back room of the sweet shop to see just what was going into these chocolates.
Among all the meticulously labelled ingredients, sits one plain looking bottle tucked away in the back, surprisingly missing any sort of labelling. With the dark coloured glass, and a dark room, it’s impossible to tell what’s in the bottle without opening it.
On removing the cork stopper, a pearly pink vapour rises in swirls from the bottle’s opening. The smell that reaches her takes her back to 6th year Potions class - Amortentia…
The freshly baked goods of a bakery in the early hours of the morning…
A warm breeze rushing through the forest behind her grandmother’s house…
The once invigorating scent of ocean spray now stings, mixed with the increasingly bitter smell of black tea… the last combined component is now fading to make way for the scent of:
-> (if Duncan - if he hadn’t died, obv)
rain on a cool night, peppermint, and something vaguely sweet - toffee?
-> (if Chester)
freshly ground coffee beans, ink still wet on parchment, clean linen
——————————————-
If someone was interested in Freyja, their Amortentia would include the fresh scent of eucalyptus and tea tree oil, tempered with something floral.
——————————————-
and here is the adorableness (?) you requested ->

Summary: Mike gets Will a surprise for his Birthday.
March 22nd, 1994
Will woke up to the sound of his alarm clock. He quickly turned off the alarm, he didn't want to wake Mike up. Will rolled over to face his husband. As you might know, gay marriage was illegal in 1994. They had a private "wedding" only 2 years ago. Friends and family came and Will's brother's friend, Argyle married them….it was hard to keep a straight face through that. Mike had changed his last name to Byers. Michael Byers. Will can't help but smile every time he hears it. Will kisses Mike's cheek softly and sneaks out of bed. He walks to the bathroom to shower and brush his teeth.
After his shower, Will walked back into his room, expecting to see his husband sleeping peacefully, but he was gone. He got a chill up his spine 'he's probably downstairs, he's fine' he arrives in the living room. Nobody. He starts to pick at his nails as he speed walks towards the kitchen. "Mike!?" He stepped into the kitchen and saw his husband cooking breakfast. He lets out a sigh of relief. "Good Morning babe." Mike walked over and kissed him. "Are you cooking breakfast?" Mike smiled and looked back at him. "It is your birthday after all." Will smiled. "So what are you wanting to do for your birthday?" The taller man asked. "I wanna visit my mom and Jonathan...and spend time with you." Mike smiled. Will continued. "My mom, Jonathan, El, Hop and I were going to get lunch. Do you wanna come?"  "I'm getting you a surprise while you are gone so i can't." Will frowned. "Hey, it's okay. We'll have plenty of time tonight to spend time together." Mike winked and Will scrunched up his face. "Weirdo." Will laughed. Mike loaded 2 plates with pancakes. "Bone apple tea!" He said as he held one plate in each hand and set them on the table. Will giggles. "I think you mean Bon appetit?" "That's what I said!" "No it's not!" They just looked at each other for a second and then burst out into laughter. "Lets eat dumbass." Mike gasps and dramatically puts his hand over his heart and Will just giggles. They sit down and start eating. "This is really good, thank you Mike." Will smiles. "You are very welcome sir William!" They just smile at each other, then finish their breakfast while they have small talk.
Mike was in the car. Will had left for lunch about 15 minutes ago and Mike was in a rush to get the surprise before he came home. Mike pulled into his destination and hopped out of the car. As he walked in he looked around. There were little kids and their parents, adults and couples there. He smiled and walked up to the counter. "What can I do for you- Mike!" Mike's friend Leo from school worked there. "Hey, how are you doing?" Mike asked. "I'm doing good! What about you and Will?" "We're good, it's actually birthday and I'm here to get him his gift." Leo smiled and looked around. "Aww he's gonna love it. Maybe I should buy Daniel one. Surprisingly, he loves pets." They both laugh. "That is surprising." "So what are you looking for?" Leo asks. "I don't know…" Leo smiled. "Wanna go look at them? People say that you will know when you find the right one." Mike Nodded and Leo led him to a room full of puppies. Will loves puppies. He hasn't had a dog since Chester and he is always talking about how he misses having a puppy. So here Mike is, getting him one.
Leo led him cage to cage so he could meet the puppies, one dog caught his eye. It was a briard mixed with a terrier. She was beautiful. She looked a lot like Chester. Though, the dog kept glaring at Mike and it was kind of scaring him but Leo assured that she was trained and a very good dog.  "Does she have a name?" Mike asks, looking at Leo. Leo shakes his head. "She's all yours to name." Mike smiles. He's gonna let Will name her.
He bought the dog and headed to the store to buy supplies for the puppy. He had the puppy in one of those dog carrier bags because he felt bad leaving the puppy in the car. He got food, doggy bowls, a bed, toys and a box. The box is for Will to open. He's going to put all the dog stuff in the box and then let the dog out of her crate so Will can see her. After he paid, he drove home.
Will wasn't home yet. 'Perfect'. He walked inside and  took out the box and started to put all the supplies in it. The puppy walked by him and just growled and walked away. "What the hell." He wrapped the box in wrapping paper and set it in the middle of the floor. He stood there admiring his work as heard a car pull into the driveway and he hurried to hide the dog.
Will had just got home and he was very excited to hang out with his husband. Him and his family had a lot of fun but now he's looking forward to having alone time with Mike. He walked through the front door and saw his husband standing in front of a box laying on the floor. "Welcome home babe." Will smiled. "Hi. What's in the box…?" Will asked, confused. "Why don't you come and see." Will crouched down in front of the box and Mike. At that moment the dog, who was hidden in her crate behind the counter growled. Will looked up at Mike. "Did you just...growl at me?" "I- uh i growled in anticipation! Grrr i can't wait for you to see your present! Now hurry and open it silly!" Will gave him a weird look then smiled. "Okayyy" he took off the wrapping paper and opened the box. Mike smirked as he saw the confused expression on Will's face. Will looked up to him. "We don't have a dog. Why did you get us dog stuff hun?" Mike smiled down at Will. "Stay here." Will looked confused as Mike walked to the kitchen. Mike unlocked the crate and the puppy booked it to the living room. "NO WAIT-" the puppy jumped on Will and started to lick his face. "Oh my god!" Will said while giggling. He was laying on his back. Mike just stood there staring at his husband. His laugh was music to his ears. Suddenly Will stood up and wrapped his arms around Mike's shoulders, burying his head in Mike's shoulder." I love you. Thank you." Mike smiled and hugged back tight. "I love you too." Will lifted his head from Mike's Shoulder and kissed him. They kissed till the puppy barked, startling both of them. Mike rolled his eyes. "Someones jealous." Will crouched down in front of the puppy. "What's her name?" Mike crouched next to him and the dog growled at him and got closer to Will. "She doesn't have a name. You get to name her." Mike smiled at him. Will looked at her for a while then smiled. "Lexi." "I like that name. It suits her." Will hugged Lexi. "I love her so much. Thank you Mike"  Mike smiled wider. "Anything for you, sir William."
