So I was rewatching good omens (again) and noticed in S1 while they’re talking about their “human operatives” they were on the freeway which I didn’t actually notice before

And it made me imagine this scene for some reason

-Crowley and Aziraphale are on the Freeway, they’ve been driving for awhile now

-Crowley glances over at Aziraphale because he’s been quiet

-Aziraphale is apparently sleeping (he’s not, he just has his eyes shut, but Crowley doesn’t know that) and Crowley does a double take because since when does he sleep

-He decides pretty instantly that he wasn’t going to make a sound so Aziraphale could sleep comfortably

-He tries to be as quiet as possible and tries to keep the car from jostling, so for the first time ever he actually drives within 10 miles of the speed limit (which doesn’t go unnoticed by Aziraphale)

-Crowley glances over every so often, to make sure he’s alright and takes in the rare sight of a truly relaxed Aziraphale

-Then he smiles, only for the briefest moment, but Aziraphale catches it, and a wave of that love Crowley usually keeps hidden fully envelops him

during college, when they have been dating for years now, Will brings Mike to a very queer & nerdy event where they all dress up as hobbits and have beer and there's upbeat instrumental music in the background with a live band and Mike is kinda reluctant to participate at first but they end up dancing the whole night together and with other people and then end up making out in costume (they are dressed as Frodo and Sam obv) and it was actually a pretty good night for Mike so when they come back home he's happy to continue what they started there and properly thank the love of his life

this got me thinking:

do you think when lynn and amanda finally got together, amanda never calls her a pet name, just calls her by her name, all the time. at first lynn thinks it's because amanda doesnt want them to go too fast or because amanda is not comfortable with that sort of intimacy.

but months go by and still it's "lynn, what do you want for dinner?" or "come to bed, lynn" or "i think you're pretty, lynn" and then it's a year, and she's called amanda every term of endearment in the book and she's still "lynn"

and one day she just had to ask

"why do you just call me 'lynn'?"

"thats your name, what do you mean?" followed by a soft laugh, because the mood is light.

"yeah but we're a couple... and couples are 'babe,' 'baby,' 'honey,' or 'darling', whatever, you know?"

"do you want me to call you those?"

"if you want to, i mean... you seem like you dont want to, because if you do, you would have."

"okay..." a smile and an affectionate look in her eyes, to lighten the mood.

"so maybe just why? why not?"

"well" and she cradles lynn's hand in between hers.

lynn takes a deep breath, and mandy gives her a kiss on the forehead—soft, affectionate.

"because there's no other word or phrase that means 'love' to me more than your name."
