S4 AU. Fitz enters the Framework after killing Jemma's LMD. It's not what he was expecting, his team is missing, he's Jemma's ... bodyguard, and she's heading up ... Hydra? Jemma might not remember him, but he’s determined to save her- no matter what he has to do to wake her up.

The hands on her waist pressed in harshly, slowly pushing her against the wall "It's either them. Or me." Her brother said.

Calliope gasped, a strange, fearful feeling arising in her chest at the words. The way he leaned in, how his lips rose in a snarl, how he put his mouth near her ear for her to hear.... It was all far, far too real.

This scene was supposed to be like that, she supposed. They were acting out a pair of toxic siblings. A possessive brother and an insecure sister. Perhaps that was why they had been chosen for the role. This scene in particular was supposed to be charged with tension, leaving the viewer unsure as to whether Lorde's- that was, Caliborn's character- intentions where simply those of a cruel sibling, or if his desires strayed in more.... Carnal directions.

Caliborn was performing his role well. A little too well.

"It's not-" she swallowed. Breathe in, focus on her character. Right now she wasn't Calliope Masis, she was Musa D'English "It's not like that. They are my friends." She looked her brother in the eye. Her brother looked at her like he wanted to *devour* her. "I will not abandon them for you." She stated, trying to act brave. Musa was supposed to be brave here. To show how much she had grown.

Callie was finding it increasingly hard to be brave right now.

"Sure." Caliborn Lorde said "See if you say the same thing when your friends all see you for the useless creature you are." He took a step closer. She took a step back. Her back hit a wall "I'm the only one who could ever want you sister. Soon enough you're going to realize that. And when you do-" he grabbed her chin and raised it slightly, exposing her neck to him. He leaned down and licked her neck, dragging his teeth over the vein slightly "That's when you'll understand you're mine. Always have been."

She gasped, breathing in, shuddering. She raised her hand to where he had licked her.

That had not been part of the script.

Cal- Lorde- Cal? Turned around and left her there, shaking, until she slid down the wall and curled up in fetal position. She was scared and frightened and confused and-

"END SCENE!"

And she was still at her job.

The director, one Mr. Weiste, walked towards her and helped her get up from the floor.

"Miss Masis- that performance- it was so real! At the beginning I doubted Ma'am Shelle's choice to let you in on the cast but by god, this scene- you made it so powerful! How did you make it so real?" Suddenly Mr Weiste turned around and extended his arms in greeting "And the man of the moment! I must applaud your performance too, Mr. I know Lorde D'English can be a complicated character to portray- Half our prospective actors rejected the audition for a reason- but you are absolutely killing the performance!"

"Thank you, Mr. Weiste." Caliborn spoke, a too sharp smile on his face "Sometimes it feels as if this character was made for me." His eyes strayed to her "Just as Musa seems made for my sister."

The hunger remained in his eyes. They were offstage so why was he still looking at her like that-

"Well, as I already told your sister" she flinched "I cannot wait to see how you both portray the developing conflict between the D'English twins- if you keep it up like this, I'm sure you'll do an excellent job. Both your performances were very very real!"

Yes. Very real indeed. As she quietly excuse herself from the conversation, she made a mental note to avoid her brother as much as possible.

M: I don't currently have any plans besides finishing "What They Were Fighting For," though I do have all of the rest of the chapters either partly written or planned! After I wrap things up with Mack and Elena, I'll be focusing on Enoch :)

N: I am still so overwhelmed by the fact that @cherrylimeade wrote that seaon 5 AU I've always wanted. I would also never say no to more post-canon fics or fics set between seasons 3 and 4!

R: I think it kind of depends on who/what I've been reading when I'm working on a new chapter. Like maybe I'll read something, and a quote will stick with me, and that will influence what I end up writing. For example, the Daisy chapter of "What They Were Fighting For" was influenced by a line of dialogue in "Every Me and Every You" by cherrylimeade, and the Mack & Elena chapter was influenced by a quote about grief from A Hole in the World by Amanda Held Opelt.
