There's one scene where L regrets the deaths of people he involved in the case:

He's not a well-established character here, though already willing to either put people in danger or to outright sacrifice them (Lind L. Tailor—who would have died in any case, but I imagine most people would find it harder to use someone like that) to solve the case.

Later in the story, he seems more ruthless:

If Soichiro and Light hadn't intervened here, those people likely would have died. He also thinks about letting Matsuda die at one point, haha.

But yeah, I don't think he's completely indifferent towards human lives. Ethical concerns are at no point his main concern, but he's also a human being and certainly not completely amoral.

RyuRem and Mellonia

Hi! Thanks for asking!

RyuRem I appreciate the concept a lot since Shinigami x Shinigami ships are so rare. The only problem is that I think it would be hard to make it believable, but it could be very fun. These two are the polar opposites of each other: Ryuk, who doesn’t take anything seriously and only knows about his “Shinigami job”, what he has to know, and Rem, who is serious all the time and much more knowledgeable. It would be chaos, which isn’t bad.

Meronia I do not dislike Meronia, but I do not ship it either. Anime/manga!Near is by far my least favorite character. Therefore, I’m not into ships with him. His childish behavior when he’s not working makes it even harder for me to see him in a relationship. (I headcanon him as aroace, btw.) Well, Mello and Near look cute together. I give them that. And there is some chemistry between the two. Still, I like their rivalry more.

1. Three Ships 

L/Misa from Death Note, obviously. Right now I'm also obsessed with Eve/Villanelle from Killing Eve, though I've never written for them because I'm intimidated by all the amazing fics already out there. And finally, Fleabag/Hot Priest from Fleabag, yes I'm still not over them.

2. First Ever Ship

Okay to be honest it was Spuffy (Spike/Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) back when I was like 13, and I still ship them. Spike was one of my first fictional crushes ever and I never recovered. I don't care if he's like 60 now, James Marsters can GET IT.

3. Last Song

"Mary Magdalene" by FKA Twigs, I've been listening to nothing but her all day. She's my dream woman tbh. Go watch her KEXP performance of "Two Weeks" on Youtube and tell me you're not in love with her.

4. Last Movie

Nope. It was my least favorite Jordan Peele movie I've seen so far, but that's just a testament to how much I loved Get Out and Us. It was still an okay movie.

5. Currently Reading 

Right now, I'm reading Interview with the Vampire and re-reading A Song of Ice and Fire.

6. Currently Watching 

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, tbh it's very good research for writing Misa, and I don't mean that in a derogatory way. Amazing show. Also 30% of the reason I watch is because Rachel Bloom is hot.

7. Currently Consuming 

Sushi from the grocery store and salt n vinegar chips and a hard cider. Treating myself.

8. Currently Craving

Physical touch tbh. I'm living far away from my partner and best friends for work reasons for a bit, so no one has touched me in weeks. I want a HUG. I want CUDDLES. I want someone to LIE DIRECTLY ON TOP OF ME AND SQUISH MY SOUL BACK INTO MY BODY. I want to get RAILED.
