Cherrycard’s Relationship and Dynamic

“Cherrycard” is the ship name of my oc Rory x Ace, since they’re my main oc x canon ship I felt like this post was long overdue. 

How’d they start?

 -Rory is my Yuu so him and Ace met on Main Street in the beginning of the prologue and obviously, they didn’t get along at first. 

 -During the prologue Rory was silently cursing both him and Deuce for their brash actions that broke the chandelier. 

 -In Book 1 Rory was even more put off when Ace stumbled to Ramshackle’s front door claiming that he had no where else to stay while his dorm leader was angry at him. 

 -He let him have the couch but quite frankly he wanted to give him the front porch. 

 -But then Ace defended him to Riddle, he even punched him for insulting him. He had to have been an idiot to defend a stranger. 

 -As a thank you, Rory would spend some nights at Heartslabyul if the conditions at Ramshackle caused him to have a health flare up. 

 -Then came Book 2, the time where everyone grew more competitive. Ace and Rory continued to bicker this entire book. 

 -Book 3, the turning point for their friendship. This was the first time that Rory truly yelled at Ace and Deuce. 

 -He blamed them for getting them into a contract and especially for losing Ramshackle. 

  -Yet Ace didn’t react negatively compared to Deuce, he sighed and said that it was about time that Rory told them how he was really feeling. 

 -To which Rory responded, “You’re an idiot!” Yet he stayed the night at their dorm room per usual. He didn’t immediately go to sleep, he stayed up and thought about what Ace said. 

 -After Azul’s overblot and Rory got a part time job at Mostro Lounge, Ace would come by sometimes to make sure he’s not overworking. 

 -Book 4, the beginning of their crushes. 

 -When winter first began Rory didn’t have any thick jackets to wear in the cold weather so he made do with his school blazer that he despised wearing. One day he ran into Ace who was going on a grocery run for Trey and Ace let him borrow his hoodie. 

 -Afterwards, Rory invited Ace to stargaze with him. 

 -Rory: Do you like the stars? Ace: They’re there. Nothing much. Rory: I see. 

 -When students left for winter break, Rory noticed that he felt lonely without the presence of his friends. Most especially a certain red head. 

 -Stuck at Scarabia, Rory’s stress got the best of him and he sent an sos message to Ace and Deuce. When it said it didn’t send he decided to push his own anxiety away and focus on taking care of Grim. 

 -At the party after Jamil’s overblot the last things he expected to see were Ace and Deuce running through the desert towards Scarabia. When they explained what they had to do to get there and how much they panicked when they saw an sos from Rory he didn’t know what to say. The duo panicked even more when they saw that Rory wasn’t just being quiet. 

 -He was crying. He didn’t think that people would go to such lengths for him. 

 -Ace tried to awkwardly comfort him while stating “Of course we would help you. We’re friends idiot.”

 -Friends. Friends. 

 -As they walked back to the mirror chamber Ace suddenly remembered something and had Rory wait outside of the Heartslabyul mirror while he ran to the dorm to get something. Deuce went ahead home but not without making sure that Grim and Rory would be okay. 

 -When Ace came back he held out a small box wrapped in wrapping paper. It wasn’t the prettiest job but it was charming to Rory. 

 -He hesitantly took it and began to unwrap it. Ace began rambling about whatever. 

 -“I chickened out from giving it to you before I left. Obviously I don’t have a lot of savings so it’s nothing lavish-if you hate it then that’s completely fine I know I didn’t ask you what you wanted-“

 -Except it was one of the sweetest gifts that Rory could’ve received. It wasn’t just one thing in the box, it was multiple. 

 -A notebook for him to journal in that had what seemed like Twisted Wonderland’s constellations on the cover, a few different colored pens, and a bookmark that at the end had various beads dangling off of it. The one at the end being in the shape of a heart. The bookmark looked homemade. 

 -Overcome with everything that’s happened, Rory pulled Ace into a hug. “Thank you.” He mumbled. “You’re welcome.” Was returned in an equally soft tone. 

 -When they parted ways, Ace was almost sad that he had to leave again. Whereas Rory didn’t feel nearly as alone as before. 

 -Book 5. When everyone returned from winter break Rory finally gave Ace his gift. A portrait of Ace. The red head was surprised at first, by both the gift and the thought behind it. 

 -The portrait even included the more subtle details that Ace didn’t think much about but apparently Rory thought about them a lot. Such as the faint freckles along his nose and his dimples and his long eyelashes. 

 -For once, Ace didn’t have a teasing remark. Instead his face started to feel really warm. 

 -It wasn’t until AFTER the SDC and that hard loss that Rory finally got the courage to ask Ace a question. 

 -“Would you like to-“ “Do you wanna-“ They both paused and went back and forth on who should speak first until they finally shouted “go on a date together?!” 

 -After their date, Ace asked Rory to be his boyfriend and promised him that he would never be the reason he cries again. 

Fun facts! (They aren’t all fun)

 -They are so sitcom coded it is actually sickening. 

 -Rory was incredibly devastated when he realized he liked Ace. So much that he told Crewel about it, who became equally devastated and disappointed. 

 -When Rory’s health issues flare up and he just wants to lay in bed or nap, Ace is right next to him. Helping in any small way that he can. 

 -When Rory finally told Ace about his trauma and what his home world was like, it all clicked to him why Rory had the mannerisms that he did. Following that he took care to be careful with what noises he made or sudden motions. 

 -Rory does his best to go to every one of Ace’s practices and games, to a lot of the other students surprise he’s one of the loudest in the stands when cheering. 

 -Ace has a habit of leaning on Rory. Whether they’re sitting or standing, he’ll find a way to lean on him. 

-They’ve spent countless nights on the roof of Ramshackle stargazing and talking about anything. From their lives now to the future.

 -Their love languages tend to overlap with Rory’s being quality time, words of affirmation, and acts of service with Ace’s being quality time, physical touch, and gift giving. 

 -They don’t call each other by nicknames very often, mostly when teasing each other or during a sentimental moment. Rory’s go-to is “Lovey” and Ace has a few he likes to cycle through such as “Honeybun”, “Sugarplum”, “Babe”, and “Sweetheart”.

Rory: Do you like the stars?

Ace: Yeah, I like ‘em because you do. Rory: I see. They remind me of you.

As for your question, its a liittle tough to answer bcs they havent interacted with many other fankids AHAHAHA

Other than romantic relationships (Marven x Ivrine, Evelio x Ashia) , All three of them are very close with (@screamintoad’s CherryCard) fankid Jane!! They see her as another siblings, and they all adore her. Alora especially! She sees Jane as her best friend.

Marven and Evelio are in a trio with their cousin Binnie (@justm3di0cr3 popel fankid), and they’re pretty much inseperable!! They all share the same dorm, and are super close :3

I imagine they all get along really well with Maggie!! (@midnightmah07’s Daiggie fankid) and Lana (@twtysevapr’s Rugmi fankid) but they havent had any actual interactions yet 🫶

Cherrycard Proposal

A/n: This came to me like a divine vision and these lil guys make me ill. Physically ill.

  The world felt like it was spinning as Rory paced around the bedroom. Applying for a new job was stressful enough but then he began thinking of the possibilities of waking up in his home world. If that happened, he doesn’t think he could take it. He tried taking deep breaths but they came out too fast. 

  He was so racked in his thoughts he didn’t even hear Ace enter their room. “Rough day?” He asked. Rory nodded, “I applied for that job but then I began thinking of what ifs.” He didn’t spare Ace a glance. They were about 23 and 24 years old now, living together for the past few years. “Like what if we got happily married and stayed together forever?” Ace proposed. Rory waved him off, “Haha very funny.” 

  He continued pacing in a circle for a few more minutes. Prattling on about what could go wrong with this job if he got it or the hoops he would have to go through to apply for another due to his lack of documentation in Twisted Wonderland. Yet, if he turned around he would see Ace in quite the position. 

  He only did turn around when Ace coughed into his hand. Once Rory saw him, it was as if the world froze. There was Ace, knelt on one knee holding out an intricate ring with a dark stone in the center of the band. “Oh thank goodness you finally turned around, I swear I was about to go into cardiac arrest. AhEm-“ his voice cracked as he began the speech he must have practiced so many times. “We’ve known each other for 7 years now and have been together for pretty much the same amount of time. We’ve seen each other at our worst and best so, uh-it is weird imagining you not in my life.” Tears began to well up in Rory’s eyes as he continued listening in silence. “I want to marry you, Rory. Can I keep you?” 

  Ace held his breath as he waited for his answer but he didn’t expect what happened next. Rory sniffled as the tears began flowing and shouting filled the room. 

“ARE YOU CRAZY? I AM FAR FROM MARRIAGE STANDARDS. I CAN BARELY COOK, I AM ALWAYS STRESSED OUT AND I’M BROKEN AND I KNOW WE’VE BEEN THROUGH EVERYTHING TOGETHER BUT-“ Rory sucked in a breath but, Ace offered a gentle smile. “Just say yes. I know you want to, I know about the engagement ring in your bedside drawer. Just be selfish and say yes.” 

  Rory tried to wipe away his tears, “…Yes!” And he tackled Ace in a tight hug that almost sent them both to the wooden floor. To lighten the mood Ace brought up something from when he confessed when they were teenagers. 

“Y’know, I promised myself to never let you cry but here we are.” “Shut up…just,” Rory hugged him even tighter, “don’t go anywhere yet.” Ace smiled and leaned his head against Rory’s, “I wasn’t planning on it, sweetheart.”

Snowy Shenanigans part 1

A/n: It snowed for the first time this season where I live so I felt compelled to write various scenarios except I only finished 2 today. They’ll follow all of my main ocs and their partner in crime (or naps looking at you Silanche)

Cherrycard (romantic):

  The first snowfall of winter is one of the few things that brings Rory happiness. He treats it like a holiday of its own, baking cinnamon rolls for breakfast, taking the morning slow, even for a bit amidst the usual chaos that stirs at NRC. Another one of his favorite things is to just lay in the fresh snow, bask in the cold. Which is where he lays now yet, he didn’t predict his boyfriend to pay him a visit. Rory didn’t process the sound of hurried footsteps approach him until he felt a shadow cover the sun and a hand touch his arm. 

  Rory’s eyes peaked open to see Ace crouched down and leaning over him. His cheeks were red from the cold air, every breath he took elicited a cloud. “Hello Lovey.” The brunette spoke up nonchalantly. Ace huffed as he sat next to him. “What are you doing laying out in the snow?! I thought you were dead or hurt or SOMETHING.” The red head scolded him. Rory only rolled his eyes and sat up. “I do this every time it snows. It’s comforting in a way, being surrounded by the coolness and the fresh smell.” Ace groaned at his answer and dragged himself to his feet. He reached out his hands and Rory happily took them for Ace to pull him off the ground. “You worry too much.” Rory leaned forward and pressed a cold kiss to Ace’s cheek. “And you’re sleepy, that’s why you’re being so nice to me.” Ace shot back. Rory’s mouth fell agape, “Rude Trappola, rude I say!” They both laughed as they made their way inside Ramshackle.

Cherrycard is very much “You go, I follow” and it goes both ways

And “You need me, I’ll help” again both ways

Rory is prone to self destructive behavior in the beginning, between the overblots, the new school life, living in a completely different world, and yet Ace was always there. He got past the bite that Rory always displays. They would follow each other into fire, although Ace walks into fire way less often than the former.

If Ace ever needs anything then Rory will drop his own chores and responsibilities to help him. At first it was Ace crashing at Ramshackle to escape Riddle’s wrath, the studying together, and all the overblots that they’ve dealt with together. Rory wouldn’t do this for anyone and Ace revels in it.

Picnic

A/n: All this fankid stuff made me write this

  The moment seemed perfect. Rory sat on one end of the picnic blanket while Ace sat on the other, his hands kept their young daughter steady on her chubby legs. Rory called out to Jane to urge her to take a step toward him. He felt so warm, from the setting sun shining on them all, and the love that circulated through his veins as if it was second nature. He laughed as Ace helped Jane take a step, then another. Rory noted how soft Ace looked like this, his skin glowing and eyes shining with a warmth to them compared to the mischievousness from their NRC days. Soft coos and high-pitched cheers comically left his mouth as the little girl awkwardly stepped towards Rory. 

  “Come on sweetheart, you can do it!” Ace urged her on. Once she reached Rory’s outstretched hands the whole family cheered. “There you go!” “I knew my little starling could do it.” Rory booped her nose with the tip of his finger. “You mean my firecracker.” Ace would’ve kept pushing until frustrated whines began to leave her lips, her legs kicking out into the air. Grim moved out of the way lest he wanted to get kicked. “I think she’s done walking today.” He pointed out. “It is getting late.” Rory noted as the sky began to darken and fireflies lit up over their heads. 

  “Yeah…” Ace plucked up Jane out of Rory’s arms and helped him to his feet while they cleaned up the end of their picnic. 

  Ace cradled the girl to his chest like he would when she was far smaller than she was now. She seemed quite set on throwing a fit mere minutes ago, but melts into her dad’s arms with a small giggle when he pokes her sides with his fingers. 

  Rory felt himself melt at the sight. He leaned over and saved their daughter from her dad’s ticklish clutches in a clean scoop into his arms. “Aw, c’mon-“ he began until his eyes drifted to a group of fireflies that flew in front of them. The baby’s attention is immediately drawn to them and she reached out a chubby hand to them. Ace imitated her action but successfully caught one in his hands. 

  He seemed giddy as he carefully cupped his hands to show her the blinking bug. “Waw!-“ She leaned forward and wrapped a hand around one of Ace’s fingers to steady her wobbly self. She gasped as she admired the firefly before it flew off. 

  “Oh, someone’s getting sleepy.” Ace pointed out as he wrapped the blanket around Rory so he could take Jane into his arms again. Rory shivered from the brisk October wind and curled the blanket tighter around him. Grim moved from Ace’s shoulders to Rory’s. 

  Ace held her like a newborn, rocking her and ghosting light kisses on her forehead. Soon enough her eyes fluttered shut and the only sounds she made was small snores.   One of her hands still tightly grasped Ace’s shirt and the other curled by her face, like the little princess that Ace taught her to be. 

  Rory smiled fondly at them both and leaned over to kiss Jane’s forehead as well. They continued their trek to the bus stop. “She’s getting so big so fast, eventually she’ll be too big for you to carry her like that.” He said. Ace shook his head, “I can still carry you just fine so, I’ll carry her until she tells me to stop.” He returned. Rory doesn’t say anything to that, he took note of the sentimental gleam that shown in his fiery irises. 

  “Do you think we’ll get the house?” Rory wondered aloud. Ace nodded, “I wouldn’t doubt it. It would be great being closer to the station.” “And I would love to live in this area.” “Mhm.” A peaceful silence washed over the small family.

  Rory wouldn’t say this out loud but this kind of future was one that he could only dream of. If you told him before NRC, or even during, that he got married and has a wonderful daughter, he would’ve laughed in your face. 

  But now, it was a future he wouldn’t dream of living without.

A/n: Just something short because you all deserve fluff sometimes

  Ace mindlessly poked Rory’s cheek as they sat in the library. The latter held back a smile, “You should probably keep studying, that last exam was almost a fail for you.” Rory said. Ace rolled his eyes but continued messing with him. From poking his cheeks, to his nose, to squishing his cheeks, until he finally got what he wanted. Rory broke out into a bright smile as he quietly laughed and waved his hands away. “Ace stop it, please, I’m trying to focus.” When Rory looked at him beside him he could’ve sworn Ace’s eyes were sparkling. “What’s up with you?” Rory asked. “Your smile it’s…” “…Crooked.” Rory’s smile faltered as he finished the sentence. “No no no!” Ace shouted and got shushed by a passerby ghost. “It’s adorable, a little lopsided yeah but that’s what makes it adorable. Because it’s your actual smile.” He grabbed his hand under the table, “Not that fake one you force when you have to be polite.” Rory’s eyes widened at Ace’s words. Ace had a habit of becoming sappy at the most random times.

“You are such a sap.” “Yep I’m done being nice to you.” “No it’s sweet!”

Sleepover time!

A/n: HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEE this becomes more so just short moments during the sleepover because I didn’t know how to keep everything flowing @blood-red-bumblebee

  Ramshackle was bustling with the sounds of people. The huge party has since died down and now all that’s left are those who chose to stay the night at the ghostly dorm. A few people were scattered all over, some were putting out the sleeping bags in the common room, others were preparing snacks in the kitchen, a certain couple was bickering over how to set up a projector, while another was setting up a pile of board and card games.

  “Should we really set up Rose’s spot? Won’t she be wherever Jack is? Including his sleeping bag.” Epel groaned, “Yes. Means more room for me.” Rory replied, “Focus on getting the projector working.” “Well I would but I’m dating an idiot.” Ace’s mouth fell open in shock, “How could you-what if that hurt my feelings?” 

  “Did it?”

  “…no.”

  “Then you’re fine.”

  Rory gave the projector one last smack before it started working, at the same time Rose, Jack, and Vil all came to the common room holding trays of various snacks to appeal to everyone. “You guys know how to be loud.” Jack pointed out, Ace and Deuce pointed at each other, “His fault!” Rose laughed at the twos antics and plopped down next to Rory. Her so called, soul sibling. They came to Twisted Wonderland around the same time and have been inseparable ever since. 

  Everyone found a spot around the room, both on the chairs and the floor. Small chatter filled would-be silence and kept the atmosphere friendly and warm.

  After the first movie they took a break and brought out some of the games that Blanche and Vil had curated together. When Rory started up the record player, chaos begun. “UNO Championship may now commence!” Rose announced. The game went smoothly until the ones playing noticed Ace’s cards disappearing a little too fast. “Ace…” Rory quirked a brow, “Where are your cards going?” He asked. “Yeah, you had a way bigger pile on your last turn.” Rose added. Ace scoffed, “This is all of my cards! I’ve been putting them in the pile.” He explained but, no one was having it. “Pat him down, he’s stashing them somewhere.” And at Deuce’s recommendation, Rose immediately leapt at him.

  Rory found the cards under the pillow that Ace was lounging on so they were all returned and he got the entire built up pile. Yet, through the fiasco everyone forgot to keep an eye on the one who actually had 1 card left, Blanche. 

  The next card game they played was Phase 10, this was a grave mistake. Because now, Rose and Silver were fighting over the scores. Physically fighting. “Quit copying me!” “I’m just good at the game. We’re tied!” They went for each other’s throats until Jack and Sebek pulled them apart. “You two need to be separated!” And separated they were, to opposite ends of the table.

  Afterwards most of the group got ready for bed. Silver helped Blanche braid her hair, Rory made Ace do skincare with him, and Rose conned Jack into letting her have his cardigan. Normal couple things. Except Rory and Rose weren’t tired yet.

  So Rory kindly asked Ace if he could borrow his phone to watch stuff on. With Rose partially laying on top of Jack and Rory taking up what was originally Rose’s spot, they watched romcoms until eventually passing out.
