i (can't) remember / kepa arrizabalaga
Tumblr media
wc: 1560 words
summary: a night out with kepa turns out into a trip back to memory lane and drunken confessions.
author's note: don't quite know if i love or hate it yet 🤔 the only thing i know is that i want more kepa fics and you've gotta start with something, don't you? anyways, hope you like itttt 🤍
"isn't it funny that we never even kissed?".
the ask comes abruptly from your best friend's mouth. it doesn't take you by surprise, as it probably should, due to the slightly intoxicated state in which you are in. it isn't weird due to where you’re currently at, a little london pub, and how many drinks have started to flow since you came in to celebrate chelsea's latest win with kepa and his teammates. the mood is light, and the alcohol accentuates your loud laugh at his question.
"actually, we did. once," you answer truthfully, while taking a gulp from your second beer of the night. kepa's eyes widened suddenly, and his reaction makes you afraid that he had regrets about it. you had never talked about it after it happened, and while it left you feeling a bit deflated due to the sudden feelings that had awakened once your lips met, you quickly let them go when you realized it didn't mean half as much to him. but now, you realize that maybe he didn't even remember it happened, and you don't know what's worse.
he reassures, "no, i would remember it: we didn't," although his tone is rather doubtful now, with his head slightly tilted to the side, and he looks like a confused puppy. it only makes you laugh more, but now it sounds more nervous than before, fearing that he would think of it as you taking advantage of him. "yeah, we did," you confirm, a bit closer to his ear now due to the loud music filling the air, which is interrupting the conversation a bit. "you were drunk as fuck, that's why you probably don't remember".
kepa's gaze remains locked into yours, looking for any sign that would let on a crack into your lie: but it never comes. his eyebrows furrow while questioning your recollection of events. "and you do? that's unfair," he complains, and now it's your turn to widen your eyes. “it's not a big deal, really. nothing more happened,” you gesticulate, hands going everywhere to try and prove your innocence. it gains you a few nasty looks when you almost make a stranger drop his drink, but he doesn’t, and you apologize profusely. “i think you said something in spanish after, but you know i can't understand shit, so i don’t know what it was: i’m sorry, kepa,” you apologize, partly because you feel like you owe it to him, for keeping the information that seems to have short circuited his brain for so long, and partly, because you don’t regret it like he seems to.
but suddenly, something clicks, and kepa remembers.
it was a hot, humid spanish night. the club was filled to the brim, and he was sure that not even one person more would fit into the pub before the walls exploded. the air was thick, filled with smoke from those fog stage machines that he so deeply despised. but kepa couldn't care less about it, or the light effects around, because you were there with him. it had taken a while for you to accept going to his home country in the first place, but he had insisted you for months to join him while visiting his parents, and finally, you had said yes.
you weren’t there for that long, so he knew that he had to use his time wisely. you had met his parents, enjoyed the beach, and now was time for the sweet nightlife that spain has to offer. it was almost 3 a.m now, and after too much to drink, on both ends, you had decided that it was time to go back to where you were staying.
“wait, no!” kepa protested, hand on your waist to try and stabilize himself. you were really trying to not think about it too much, but you couldn't really ignore the sensations a simple touch by your best friend were altering you. “we still have to do one more thing,” he slurred, and you remembered the stupid list he had managed to scribble on his phone’s notes.
“you need to kiss someone in this club,” kepa recalled, devilish grin painted on his pretty lips. you rolled your eyes, vaguely recalling how you had yelled at him to delete that specific item. seems that he hadn’t heard you.
“well, i’m not doing that,” you crossed your arms over your chest, and expected that, as every time you got mad at him, whether fake or real, he would back off on his challenge. unfortunately, the alcohol was making him immune to your charms, it seemed, because he kept going. “then we won’t leave,” he shrugged, and started to make his way back towards the bar to get another drink -one that he definitely didn’t need right now. you exasperatedly shaked his arm, bringing his wider frame to clash into yours, and through his drunken state he still tried to maintain you both stayed upright. “if i kiss you, can we go?”, you asked while rolling your eyes, but he didn’t see your expression since he was practically leaning his whole body into yours to get to hear what you were saying through the loud music.
you don’t know if it happened fast or slow, with how fucked up your processing of the situation around you is due to the alcohol you consumed, but what you do know is that, suddenly, it's like you’re not in the club anymore. all you can feel is kepa’s hands tightly holding onto your face, like you would slip away from him otherwise, and his fluffy, plump lips, now clashing with yours. you melted into him, like you had dreamed of doing way too many times to consider normal for two best friends. you only separate when the air in your lungs reaches an all-time low, and even then, it's begrudgingly. when you open your eyes back open, you’re afraid of what you can find: you don’t know if this was kepa or the alcohol’s doing, and the fact that you didn’t understand what he had said only made things worse. “quise hacer eso por mucho tiempo” (i wanted to do that for a long time).
“yeah, that sounds like what you said!” you cheer when you recognize vaguely what he had muttered. back then, a wide smile was painted on his lips, but now, the sentence doesn't sound the same, and his gaze looks almost lost in the pub. “what does it mean?” you question, and kepa’s eyes widen when he realizes that he had said it out loud, rather than just keeping the flashback to himself. he’s cornered now, between telling you the truth about what he said and risk losing your friendship, or lying to you and keep the newfound piece of information to himself.
instead of replying, he drags you through the bar, passing through a few of his teammates and explaining shortly that you two were already leaving. you wave goodbye excitedly, though your confused face doesn’t portray the same emotion. a confused tone is laced through your sentence when he finally reaches his destination: outside, at the back of the club. “what are we doing out here?”, you mutter, bringing your arms tightly wrapped around yourself to preserve some of the warmth that the sea of bodies around you provided when you were inside. kepa is quick to embrace your frame with his jacket, and both his smell and body heat warm you from the inside out.
“i wanted to do that for a long time,” he says, finally translating the sentence he had told you that night. but still, with no context, his words don’t make sense. “do what? i’m not following, kepa”.
he huffs in discomfort when he realizes he has to be a lot more explicit for you to understand what he meant.
“that night, when we kissed,” he starts, and his whole face turns into a reddish color. “i said that i had wanted to do that for a long time”. you squint your eyes, trying to watch closely for the classic lip twitch he had when he lied to you about something, but it never comes. instead, a warm smile forms on his lips, and you’re tempted to mimic it. “if you remembered, why didn’t you say something before?” you ask, scrunching your nose as well as your eyebrows. his head tilts back, and he’s laughing before dropping an impromptu kiss on your nose. “wish i remembered before, but i didn’t. until you said it back there”. you’re now hugging him tight, half expecting him to leave after what feels like the ending of your friendship due to the heartfelt love confessions. but instead, he returns the embrace just as tightly, and even if you had been in this situation many times before, now it’s more special.
although his confession sobered you in an instant, you’re afraid that -like it happened to him before, when the morning comes, you won’t remember it either. “what if i can’t remember this?” you question a few minutes after he muttered the last sentence interchanged between you two, arms still tightly wrapped against his middle while he places his big hands on your shoulders. “i’ll make sure you do,” he smiles through his words, while planting a sweet kiss on the top of your head.

Official announcement
Kepa Arrizabalaga's loan deal has ended, and Real Madrid is not interested in signing the goalkeeper permanently. He will return to Chelsea.
Real Madrid brought Kepa in following Courtois' injury. Kepa served as the first-choice goalkeeper until he got injured after the 12th La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano. During his absence, Lunin impressed in games against Valencia CF, Cadiz CF, SC Braga, and SSC Napoli, proving capable of filling Courtois' role. Kepa returned to play in five more matches post-injury.
Overall, Kepa played in 20 matches, conceded 18 goals, and kept 9 clean sheets. He helped Real Madrid win the Champions League, the Spanish league, and the Supercopa de España.
Thank you, Kepa, for this season and good luck in the future.

Chelsea could sign their best GK since Courtois in "unbelievable" £30m-rated titan in Emiliano Martinez
Tumblr media
Chelsea could sign their best GK since Courtois in "unbelievable" £30m-rated titan in Emiliano Martinez The uncertainty surrounding Chelsea's goalkeeping situation remains unclear. At the moment, Kepa Arrizabalaga seems likely to be the first-choice goalkeeper for Chelsea in the upcoming season. Mauricio Pochettino expressed his satisfaction with Kepa's performance during the pre-season draw with Newcastle, praising his commitment and adaptability to the team's new requirements, labeling him a fantastic keeper. Despite such positive remarks, there are rumors circulating that Mauricio Pochettino is considering further improvements in the goalkeeping position and might be exploring options to bring in another goalkeeper, potentially leading to Kepa taking on a backup role. According to information from Nathan Gissing via The Chelsea Chronicle, the club is closely monitoring the goalkeeper market, indicating that the situation remains subject to potential changes and developments. He said: “I am told Chelsea are still looking at a goalkeeper. They liked Onana, but never made a move. Maignan, I believe he’s too expensive for Chelsea, so they’re looking for that player who is not overly expensive, but can still compete with Kepa.” Given the context and the information provided, Emiliano Martinez could indeed be a fantastic addition to Stamford Bridge as a potential goalkeeper candidate.  However, it's important to note that there have been no official reports or confirmations about Chelsea's interest in signing him at this point in time.  The situation remains subject to potential developments, and the club may continue to evaluate their options in the goalkeeping department. Is Emiliano Martinez joining Chelsea? The report from Football Insider earlier this summer suggested that Chelsea was considering a move for Emiliano Martinez as part of Mauricio Pochettino's squad overhaul.  However, any potential deal has been complicated by Martinez's long-term contract with Aston Villa, making it likely that it would require a substantial transfer fee to lure him away from Villa Park.  According to Football Transfers, the player's current value is estimated at £30 million. Emiliano Martinez's time at Aston Villa since joining in 2020 has been marked by a remarkable rise to prominence both in domestic and international football.  He has earned praise for his consistent performances, with Matty Cash hailing him as "unbelievable." Throughout his 112 appearances for Aston Villa, the 30-cap international and World Cup winner has recorded 39 clean sheets, highlighting his abilities as a top-class goalkeeper. How good is Emiliano Martinez? Throughout this period, the ex-Arsenal player has been under the management of Dean Smith, Steven Gerrard, and Unai Emery.  All three managers have consistently shown unwavering belief in Martinez, as evidenced by his participation in 110 out of the team's last 114 Premier League matches. In the previous season, the star earning £120,000 per week showcased exceptional performance with 60 successful high claims, the highest in the league. Among goalkeepers in Europe's top five leagues, he ranks in the top 1% for the percentage of crosses stopped per 90, and he also stands in the best 22% for goals conceded per 90. This player is known for being an epitome of reliability and composure, two qualities reminiscent of Thibaut Courtois. Since joining the Blues in 2014, he has exuded confidence and permanently secured his position as the first-choice goalkeeper, displacing none other than the club legend Petr Cech. During his time in west London, the commanding Belgian goalkeeper achieved great success, winning the Premier League title twice and earning the Golden Glove award once. He managed an impressive 58 clean sheets in 154 appearances for the club. In contrast, Kepa's Chelsea career took a completely different trajectory, as he faced a barrage of criticism due to his inconsistency and performance issues. Mario Melchiot criticized him as a "liability," and the decision of the previous management to sign Edouard Mendy and promote the Senegalese as the first choice goalkeeper clearly showed that they were losing faith in the Spaniard's abilities. Currently earning £150k per week, Kepa now has a chance to become the starting goalkeeper due to Mendy's sudden decline and departure to Saudi Arabia. Originally brought in to replace Thibaut Courtois, Kepa has failed to live up to expectations. Therefore, it would be a risky move for Pochettino not to consider Martinez as Chelsea's new goalkeeper. Martinez was named the best goalkeeper in the world last year, suggesting that he could be the club's best goalkeeper since the days of Thibaut Courtois. Chelsea could sign their best GK since Courtois in "unbelievable" £30m-rated titan in Emiliano Martinez Read the full article

Remaking Chelsea
Tumblr media
After a spend approaching $750 million over the previous two transfer windows, Chelsea's priorities in this transfer window were pretty clear. In order to remain compliant with financial sustainability rules -- those of both the Premier League and UEFA (when they next qualify for European football) -- they needed to cut the wage bill and generate funds from sales. And they needed to reduce a bloated squad that, including loans, had ballooned to around 40 players (a figure higher than they needed, given the lack of European football this season).
All this while giving Mauricio Pochettino a squad competitive enough to get them back into Europe -- ideally the Champions League, but at a minimum the Europa League. They got to work straight away and Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, the co-sporting directors, have been aggressive and efficient in that regard. They have made two signings thus far -- Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson -- and we expect them to bring in two to three more players: another forward and one or two central midfielders. But that may take some time as it will depend on which players they can move out.
Editor's note: This is the fourth in a series of stories over the coming weeks applying the same "who to keep, who to extend and who to move on" approach to all the top clubs in the Premier League and Europe. You can find our Manchester City edition here, our Arsenal edition here and our Liverpool edition here.
Goalkeepers Edouard Mendy (31 years old, contract expired in 2025) -- transferred to Al Ahli for €18.5 million MARCOTTI: They had to make a choice between Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga and they opted to shift the former. It's not a big fee for a guy who led them to a Champions League crown three years ago, but then again, he lost his starting spot last season. With his deal expiring in 2025, his valuation was only going to fall.
Kepa Arrizabalaga (28, 2025) OGDEN: He's on big wages and hasn't exactly pulled up trees, so there's no need to extend. Maybe he'll blossom under Pochettino and then you can assess what you want to do. But for now, I'd ride out.
Gabriel Slonina (19, 2028) MARCOTTI: He was on loan in Major League Soccer last season and started for the United States at the Under-20 World Cup. I don't see the point in keeping him as a third keeper; he needs to play. So find some place for him to go on loan. You've still got Bettinelli as a backup.
Marcus Bettinelli, 31, 2026 OGDEN: There's a lighter workload with no European football and he can probably do a job as a No. 2. Though if Kepa gets injured, Chelsea may want to move for a keeper in January.

Defenders Wesley Fofana (22, 2029)
Benoit Badiashile (22, 2030)
Kalidou Koulibaly (32, 2026) -- transferred to Al Hilal for €23m MARCOTTI: They ended up selling him for almost half the €40m they paid to sign him a year ago, but needs must. He didn't have a great season, he's now 32, he was on a huge wage and it's not like they were going to get much more for him.
Trevoh Chalobah (23, 2028) OGDEN: They have a ton of central defenders and it was going to come down to him or Koulibaly for depth. It makes sense to keep him; he's younger and cheaper and showed he can do a job in that role.
Thiago Silva (38, 2024) MARCOTTI: I don't know how much he's going to play at his age, but I guess they value his leadership and it's only a one-year extension they gave him.
Marc Cucurella (24, 2028) OGDEN: Unless Pochettino decides he loves him, he's probably their fifth option at centre-back and their third option, after Ben Chilwell and Lewis Hall, at left-back, so he's the sort of player you want to move on. Problem is, with the sort of season he had last year, that's difficult to do. They paid a lot of money for him and he's on significant wages. So sell if you can, but you may need to keep him.
Ben Chilwell (26, 2027)
Levi Colwill (20, 2025) MARCOTTI: I think he's a phenomenal talent. He was on loan at Brighton last year and they, no doubt, want to keep him, but I think you have to extend his contract and resist the urge to let him go as part of a package for Moises Caicedo or whomever. If the Caicedo fee is too high, maybe you can include Cucurella in some form or let them have Colwill on loan for another season, but only after he extends with Chelsea. Simply keeping him around makes little sense to me; he needs to play.
Reece James (23, 2028)
Malang Sarr (24, 2025) MARCOTTI: He didn't play much at Monaco last year, making just eight league starts, but he'll likely play even less if he stays. I don't know what Chelsea can get for him because he's had little impact over the past three years for three different clubs, so you may need to simply loan him out. If not, take whatever is offered.
Baba Rahman (28, 2024) -- released OGDEN: It's remarkable to think he joined Chelsea eight years ago and spent the past seven seasons on loan. They may have taken a hit in terminating his contract, but it was worth it."\
Ethan Ampadu (22, 2024) OGDEN: He's not going to play and his contract is winding down. Move him on.
MARCOTTI: He was a highly touted youngster and, at 22, he already has 44 caps for Wales. Maybe he'll never live up to the hype, but he showed in loan spells at Sheffield United and then in Serie A the past two years that he can contribute. Yes, you can sell him now and get something -- not much -- for him, but I think it makes more sense to extend his contract by a year or two and either loan him out or maybe keep him around for his versatility. He can also play in defensive midfielder, and that's a role where Chelsea have a big hole right now, so he may be useful as a squad player.
Ian Maatsen (21, 2024) MARCOTTI: I think you need to think of him and Lewis Hall jointly. You can carry one of the two as a back up to Chilwell. Whichever one you keep, you'll need to extend. He had a great year on loan at Burnley, starting almost every game, helping them to promotion and being named in the team of the season. Chelsea seem intent on selling him and Burnley have had a £15m bid knocked back. If you can get the right price I guess you sell, but he looks a special player and if Pochettino is on board with it, I'd look to extend his contract and have him back up Chilwell.
Lewis Hall (18, 2025) OGDEN: I like Hall. I think he has talent and the ability to become the first-choice left back. I'd extend his deal and keep him at the club, giving him the chance to dislodge Chilwell. He could be Pochettino's project: a homegrown kid with the opportunity to become a club stalwart.
Cesar Azpilicueta (33, 2024) -- released, joined Atletico Madrid MARCOTTI: He's been a great servant for the club, but I think they made the right decision to write off the last year of his contract and let him move to Atletico. It cuts the wage bill and opens the door for younger players.
Malo Gusto (20, 2030) MARCOTTI: He's had two years as a regular at Lyon, so you feel he's ready to back up Reece James down the right flank. Only question here is playing time if James stays injury-free, but you can possibly look at that later. For now it makes sense to let Pochettino assess him close up.
Midfielders Cesare Casadei (21 years old, contract expires in 2028) OGDEN: He had a good year in the Championship and was top scorer at the Under-20 World Cup. Now he needs to kick on, so I'd look to loan him to a top-division club, ideally playing in Europe.
Faustino Anjorin (21, 2028) MARCOTTI: He's a very gifted player, but he's had major injury problems and hasn't played since September when he was on loan at Huddersfield. I think all you can do is try to get him fit again and then see if you can loan him.
Andrey Santos (20, 2030) MARCOTTI: Now that he has his work permit, I think this one depends on how many defensive midfielders Pochettino thinks he needs and how many he can get. Ideally, a loan somewhere in Europe might make more sense to smooth the transition from Brazil. But if they're short in the middle of the park, they may not have that option.
Tiemoue Bakayoko (28, 2024) -- released OGDEN: Another one where they decided to cut their losses. It's incredible to think they paid €45m for him six years ago, but he hasn't been able to make it work in any of his loan spells.
Enzo Fernandez (22, 2031) Verdict: Keep
N'Golo Kante (32, 2023) -- signed for Al Ittihad on free transfer MARCOTTI: He was a great player and a popular and likeable one too, but the combination of age, wages and injuries meant it made little sense to give him a new deal. They had to let him go.
Mateo Kovacic (29, 2024) Signed for Manchester City for £25m MARCOTTI: Selling him fits the broader plan of what they want to do: get younger and lower the wage bill. With a year left on his contract, they had little leverage in terms of fee. Maybe they could have got a little more, but I'm OK with £25 million.
Conor Gallagher (23, 2025) OGDEN: I don't think he's Chelsea-level, so I wouldn't extend him. Ideally, I'd look to sell, but they're simply short on bodies in the middle of the park. Plus, I think you need some guys with Premier League experience.
Verdict: Keep but do not extend
Ruben Loftus-Cheek (27, 2024) -- transferred to AC Milan for €16m MARCOTTI: Another massive prospect as a teenager, it's wild to think that he's 27 and never started more than 21 league games in a season (and that was while on loan at Crystal Palace and Fulham). He has an unusual skill set and showed glimpses, but it was time to move on. With a year left and big wages, you weren't going to get much more than what they got.
Carney Chukwuemeka (19, 2028) OGDEN: I think you let Pochettino make the call here. He's still so young and has started only four top flight games. If Pochettino thinks there's room for him to get some playing time and grow then you keep him. If not, send him out on loan where he can play. That will depend on who they bring in.
Mason Mount (24, 2024) -- joined Manchester United for £60m OGDEN: The relationship with the club fell apart, and once it became obvious he wasn't going to extend, they had to sell. I think that's a very good fee for Chelsea.
Mykhailo Mudryk (23, 2031) MARCOTTI: He struggled in his first six months but you made a long-term commitment to him, so you need to give him another shot and hope that he can settle.
Raheem Sterling (28, 2027) OGDEN: I'd look to move him on if you can find someone who will take him, maybe in England or overseas, even on loan. Even with all the attacking players who are leaving, you've added Nico Jackson and Christopher Nkunku and you'll want to give them playing time. You also still have Mudryk, Noni Madueke, Broja coming back from injury, plus whatever new striker we think they're going to sign and no European football.
Christian Pulisic (24, 2024) MARCOTTI: He's on big wages and he's a year away from free agency. It would be silly to keep him and lose him for nothing when he wants a move, you can get a fee for him and you're not going to give him a new deal. With AC Milan submitting a new bid worth over €20m for the forward, a deal could be on the horizon for the forward.
Noni Madueke (21, 2030)
Hakim Ziyech (30, 2025) OGDEN: They had a deal to sell him to Al Nassr lined up, but he failed his medical. It might be tough to sell him, but maybe they can loan him somewhere.

What about Kobel? I don’t even go there but I’ve seen lots of praise for him this season. Yeah no it’s a no from me for Pickford as well. Fucking hell if we are that broke then bring Henderson back and let’s see what he can do. Arrizabalaga? Chelsea is apparently buying Onana so they have an abundance of goalkeepers too lmao. Onana, Mendy, Arrizabalaga.. and all of them could be starters. If I were Kepa I’d start looking for options cause he’s gonna be warming that bench tbh
I would go for Mendy as a backup and see if we could keep him healthy. If we signed him as a #2, I’d give Henderson a shot and see how he does. Worst case in that scenario is Henderson flops and we have a top-class keeper to call on with a chip on his shoulder and a point to prove. 😉
Kepa is my Pickford: hell no. 😂 He’s definitely improved, but no. You don’t pass on Costa to sign Kepa unless you really love the Europa League. 😂

Andre Onana Tops Chelsea's Wishlist
Chelsea have a lot of work to be done this summer if they want to get back to winning manners. Illan Meslier is an Leeds defender, is close to signing with the Blues on a 2-year contract. Romelu Lukaku will likely quit and be replaced by Joao Felis. Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig is set to move to Stamford Bridge under a previously reached agreement, is being considered a potential target. Goalkeeper Chelsea are said to be in talks with Inter Milan over the signing of Andre Onana. The 27-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper has shown his class in his debut season with the Nerazzurri following his arrival on a free transfer from Ajax last summer. The west London club have struggled with the two sticks in this campaign with both Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga having trouble finding their form. It's believed that new manager Mauricio Pochettino would like to create his own position in the coming months and Onana is one of the targets. There is a report that the Blues are willing to offer Inter a number of players in order to reach a compromise over the limit. They're considering Brentford's David Raya, Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel and Rubus Loftus-Cheek as well as Trevoh and Rubus Chalobah of the academy. Chelsea might also be interested in Napoli's Victor Osimhen However, the Italian club isn't willing to let Nigerian international Osimhen go. Jan Oblak is another option However, Atletico Madrid are unlikely to let him leave for a bargain price. Midfielder The Blues want fresh competition to Kepa Arrizabalaga at Stamford Bridge next season and they are weighing the possibility of a deal for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. The Cameroon international is just one year into a five-year deal with the Nerazzurri and has impressed in goal for them this season as he has helped the Italian giants reach the Champions League semi-finals. Chelsea scouts are also keeping an eye on Brentford's David Raya, Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel and RB Leipzig’s Denzel Dumfries for the goalkeeping position. But 90min is aware that Onana is top of their wishlist due to the fact that he is offered for less than EUR40 million.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the two Premier League clubs would be willing to purchase Onana from the Italian giants. The Serie A club is unlikely to offer its star goalie for less than what Onana is earning now. Forward Chelsea are believed to be engaged in negotiations with Inter Milan over a deal for goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer. Inter Milan have played 35 appearances since the Cameroon International joined them as a free agent from Ajax during the last season. Kepa Arrizabalaga, Chelsea's first choice goalkeeper, has had difficult times this season. The Blues are determined to get another option in the middle of the pitch and want to offload one of Kepa or Edouard Mendy as part of any deal with Onana. Onana's agent has stated that the club is interested in signing him Blues. In an interview with TV Play, Albert Botines claimed that transfer rumors are not unusual, but my client is focused on his position at Inter Milan and he still has four years remaining on the contract.' Mauricio pochettino, the new Chelsea boss is a huge admirer of Onana. He worked with Onana at Tottenham. Romelu's return to Inter from his loan at Inter is expected this summer. The Argentine could also sign an additional striker. Defender With Kepa Arrizabalaga's and Edouard Mendy's futures in doubt, Chelsea are exploring a number of options to improve their goalkeeping unit this season. The Blues are believed to be keen on an agreement with Inter Milan's Andre Onana with the 27-year-old having impressed with his performances in Italy this season. Cameroonian goalkeeper, who has joined Inter from Ajax as a free transfer last summer, has risen to the top of the Serie A table. He is also one of the best Nerazzurri players in Europe this season as they try to make an Champions League final appearance. According to Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea officials are due in Milan for a meeting with Inter officials this week. Both sides are expected to discuss the possibility of moving Onana along with Kepa and Mendy being possible trade candidates. The Blues would also like to sign another defender since Nathan Ake's career is uncertain. They have been linked with Napoli center back Kalidou coulibaly. All credtis to YouTube
