there are two, count em, two fics where soldier either pops up in equestria or has just,,been here,, the whole time for no reason and those two fics have worked perfectly in their own way. now i love this au bc soldier is written in character and yet he still cares and learns a lesson and its SAPPY and SWEET.

also ft equestria girls; rainbow rocks bc i keep. i keep picturing Sniper singing with Twilight (as well as the other mercs and the rest of the mane 6) and its a whole music video in my head with the mercs coming in to help and being excited/annoyed bc they have to sing to win instead of using weapons but getting real into it. its sappy and very cheesy but thats the POINT, that’s the WHOLE POINT, its putting these tough guy mercs in situations that can’t be solved with weapons and have to be solved with ~friendship~

“James this is — it’s too…”

“Amazing, isn’t it? The orchards were full this year!” James exclaimed.

“What exactly are we going to do with this many apples?” Regulus was exasperated, staring into a kitchen laden with apples: apples soaking in the kitchen sink, in woven produce bags on the counter, in crates lining the floor.

Maybe James had gone overboard, but summer was finally turning to autumn, the leaves shifting from green to orange, the chill in the air sharpening. It had been the perfect day for apple-picking, so apple-pick, he did.

“I don’t know, we can make things?”

“Like what?” Regulus asked, bitterness rising. “We could make enough applesauce to fill the black lake with!”

“Maybe we should do just that, then,” James teased, pressing his chest into Regulus’ back, pleased when he felt Regulus' shoulders relax. He kissed the nape of his neck, the first two vertebrae exposed above his shirt collar, the space in between his shoulder blades. “We could make apple pie,” he suggested, turning Regulus to face him.

“Right now,” Regulus demanded. “Let’s make some right now so we can get these out of here.”

James chuckled, pressing a kiss to Regulus’ lips. “Right now,” he agreed. “Help me peel them, will you?”

Regulus set to work peeling and chopping the apples, while James worked with the spices, stewing the apples and coating them in cinnamon and nutmeg and sugar. They stepped around one another in perfect harmony, the apple filling taking shape seamlessly.

They worked on the dough next, puffs of flour landing in their hair and along their cheeks, cinnamon dotting regulus’ upper lip in just the right place for James to kiss it off. They mixed and sifted ingredients until they could shape the dough into two pie pans, long strips set aside to weave over the top of the apple mixture.

“How do they look?” Regulus asked, holding up the pies they had made for James to inspect before he slid them into the oven.

They were flawless, the apple filling poured to the perfect amount, the lattice crust perfectly symmetrical over the tops, but it was looking into Regulus’ bright grey eyes that James replied, “they’re perfect.”

Okay ultimate opinion on Cowboys & Aliens - better than i remember it being Favreau gave us a great time with a fun ensemble Daniel plays a great queer gunslingers feral little meow meow haunted by his past, there is a lot of potential SO MUCH POTENTIAL but like so many films in 2011 it's absolutely not smart enough to say what it wants to so I'm gonna sit here with my secret better version that isn't just Daniel Craig being incredibly attractive and exasperated for 2 hours in leather while putting up with Harrison Ford.
