my beloved homie @confessions-of-a-ex-cheesaholic asked for a "who did this to you" fic after it was missing from a hurt/comfort prompts list, and while I am incorporating this into the main plot of ACJFT here's just a little snippet from the chapter I'm currently working on

Suddenly his mind was in a memory, and he was fifteen years old again. His nose was bloody, his hair was caked in mud, and the sketchbook in his hands was torn and tattered. Loose pages littered the ground around him, crumpled and filthy. He sat hunched at the side of the path while Murph towered over him, their hands on their hips and their whole body quaking with rage.

Who did this to you? they spat, words full of venom. I’ll rip their fucking faces off.

Steve shook his head, hot tears burning his eyes. He didn’t want revenge, or justice, he just wanted to go home. A drop of red fell from his nose onto the last clean page of his sketchbook. He curled in on himself and buried his face in the paper.

When they received no reply from him, Murph let out a loud huff and knelt down in the dirt. They ripped the sketchpad away from his face so he was forced to look at them. For a second he thought they might hit him too, for being such a baby, for being too trusting of those bullies, but instead they reached out and wiped a mix of tears and mud from his cheek with their sleeve. Their face was still furious, eyebrows knitted in a dark scowl and ears pinned right back, but their eyes were glossy with tears. 

Please tell me. Their voice was softer now, but no less insistent. Their hand shook slightly as they carefully dabbed at the blood. Who hurt you, Stevie?

As the year comes to a close, I just wanted to stop and take a moment to thank all the people who have made this year possible for both the Archer Inventive shop, and for Loreamour and it's Knights.

It was a busy year filled with plenty of uncertainties, hurdles, and challenges to overcome, but thanks to all of you Loreamour was able to throw not just one event for the community but TWO! On top of that the The Knights of Loreamour were able to attend multiple events, and you allowed the Archer Inventive shop to continue to grow.

It took a lot of hard work, late nights, and a few smashed pumpkins, but thanks to all of you, we did it!!

I will not return to Gaza and my destroyed home anytime soon, as I do not own a car and have no one to take me. Therefore, my children and I will remain in the abandoned school, bidding farewell to everyone and watching their joy as they return.

How will I return with my belongings?

My home was completely destroyed, and I have no means of transportation. If I must return on foot, how can I leave behind my children's blankets, sleeping mats, and everything we own?

Frustration consumes me.

I don’t know what I will do on the day of return. It is exhausting and deeply worrying for me and my children.

My campaign is completely halted.

I am considering closing it, but I hope to reach 80,000 to manage my affairs. I want to travel, as I no longer have a home to return to, nor an education to secure my children’s future.

What's your favorite kind of cheese?

Ma'am, you should know better than to ask a cheesaholic their favorite kind of cheese! There are so many tasty cheeses to choose from!

I would have to say that my top category of cheeses are smoked cheese. Smoked Gouda is a contender but I think smoked string cheese is my #1. I love the smoky flavor and the smoking process dries the cheese a bit so it's even more stringy than regular string cheese.

On a completely different note, a good brie is also a favorite.

First of Many

Hi, my name’s Rachael, and I’m a cheesaholic.  I’m an American Cheese Society (ACS) Certified Cheese Professional (CCP), a tenacious turophile, a cheesemonger, and a champion of sensuality.  I’m starting this blog because I intend to document my journey to the next level in the cheese profession.  I plan to take the ACS T.A.S.T.E. exam in Richmond, VA this coming July.  It is a blind cheese tasting exam that requires palatal acuity.  Since my goal is to develop my senses in order to glean more nuances from my food, particularly cheese and other fermented ingestibles, this exam is a tremendous incentive with a reasonable time frame.  

Along with cheese, I have another addiction:  refined sugar.  Sugar is tricky because it exists in foods we wouldn’t even consider to be (or even need to be) laden with the stuff.  It affects our bodies at a microbial level.  It alters our intestinal microflora, which results in the over-production of yeast, which then requires more yeast to thrive, and so the cravings continue.  You see, it’s not purely psychological.  Have you ever had an intense craving for something sweet, even though you were full or knew that you didn’t need it, yet the craving persisted until you mollified it with a sweet?  

Sugar coats the tongue and causes dental issues, dehydrates the body, creates inflammation, and blasts the palate.  I have chronic asthma, which is basically chronic inflammation in the lungs.  I have noticed a correlation between the amount of refined sugar I’m consuming and my inability to breathe well, as well as my post nasal drip inhibiting my ability to smell.  None of this contributes to palatal development.  

My only option is to refrain from ingesting it altogether.  Seven-plus months of being sugar free will undoubtedly yield positive results.  Having been a slave to the junk since I was fed Nestle’s chocolate milk in my bottle as a baby, you can imagine the mental anguish and turmoil that the thought of not having it for instant gratification is causing.   

On this blog, I am going to be open and honest about my successes and failures on this embarcation to being one of the few certified cheese sensory analysis professionals in our country.  I’m going to document my tastings, educational endeavors, developments in organoleptics, and all things cheese.  I will also keep tabs on my lack of sugar ingestion, as withdrawals are bound to ensue.  If you are planning on taking the T.A.S.T.E. test, as well, or if you are interesting in finding out how to make the most of your sensuality in order to extrapolate the most from your food, please, follow along!

Ive actually not had it very long! Not since childhood like you, i've only had it for about a year now, it developed after I overdosed on THC and it left me vomiting all night long. After that, I haven't eaten ANYTHING that could make me remotely queasy. Fish is off the table. Meat, even. Dairy is questionable, I avoid cheese if I can (even tho i'm a cheesaholic)something tastes funny? Throw it out. I drink almond milk and eat mostly canned veggies and dried fruit 😂 i have an IG if you want it!

I recently started an IG account actually 😂 I hardly post on it, but you can follow it back as well if you want 😊I’m paranoid about people knowing how bad my ED can get, specially since I’ve always had ups and downs and I don’t need family pestering me about it more than they already do, so I don’t really post my face, but it’s not always the same pictures that I post on here. As for the emetophobia stuff, that super sucks but I totally get it. I’m über picky about foods and “safe foods” have a totally different meaning to me than what most ED blogs talk about lol. I don’t eat meat any more because my system can’t handle it and I feel sick, dairy is a hell no because I’m lactose intolerant, however I can eat some “older” cheeses like mozzarella and Parmesan because they have fermented long enough that the lactose is basically gone. I could list foods and the like all day and have a rant for each one 😂😂😂 what is my life? But! I get the feels. Sometimes I get this weird “throat is closing” feeling that makes me anxious and is related to the emetophobia. It’s a sucky phobia to have! I’m sorry you have to deal with it too!
