Apple’s New Beats Solo Buds Are Dirt Cheap and Have a Long Battery Life
Apple has announced two new products for its Beats line of headphones and earbuds. The Beats Solo Buds are truly wireless earphones with up to 18 hours of battery life, while the Beats Solo 4 are an upgrade for those looking to swap out their existing over-ear headphones for new ones. Both devices are more affordable than the three-layer AirPods. They are also lighter and smaller.
The Beats Solo Buds cost $80 and come in four colors: black, gray, purple, and a nostalgic-seeming transparent red. The buds have touch controls on the outside and can pair with Android and iOS devices. The Beats Solo Buds case charges via USB-C, and Apple says it’s one of the smallest cases it has ever made.
Rhe Beats Solo Buds come with Spatial Audio and a “custom-built acoustic architecture.” They’re purported to be more comfortable to wear than their predecessors, with four different ear tips included in the box. But they don’t have active noise cancellation (ANC), which is likely why these buds can get so much life in one charge. The Solo Buds are compatible with Apple’s Find My and Android’s Find My Device.

Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2: For under $200, these are one of the champion wireless over-ear headphones you can buy with proper pronounce character, a long-lasting firing and plenitude of on-device controls. Sennheiser HD 280 Pro: Ranging between $99 and $129 depending on if you touch them on merchandising, these over-ear apartment cans are eager for mixing penalization and perception in falsetto lineament.
best car speakers for bass
Sennheiser HD 598 CS: When it comes to alleviate, things are neck-in-neck between the HD 598 CS and the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro. If you requisite the benefits of closed-back isolation and a soundstage that resembles open-back headphones, the 598 CS are a great, cheap duet of headphones. Though, they do suffer from a lack of limpidity, especially with midrange frequencies. Sony MDR-7506: This is added zealous unify of studio cans; the MDR-7506 are arguably one of the most fruitful pairs of mixing cans to reside on the heads of frequency engineers everyplace.
best surround sound headphones
Sony WH-CH710N: For inferior than $200, there are few options punter than Sony's ANC headphones. These aren't as snug as the Edifier headset, nor do the ear cups circumvolve up (only vapid), but the microphone is large for telecommuters.

SEARCHING FOR THE BEST EVER EARPHONE SOUND EXPERIENCE? WORRY NO MORE!
Title: Don't Waste Time! Some Facts Until You Reach Your Best Bluetooth Earbuds.
1More True Wireless ANC: These are worth considering if you need true wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation. Unlike many of the true wireless ANC options available, this 1More pair offers decent reduction in the airplane band—enough to be useful on a plane or the subway. The moderate earbud size and inclusion of six sets of silicone tips (plus three sets of wings) help ensure a secure fit for a variety of ear sizes and shapes. The sound quality—which is THX certified as of September 2020—is on the sibilant side, but folks who prefer an extra boost in the consonant range may not mind this too much. Read more about them in our Noise-Cancelling Headphones guide.
So let’s jump into the review helps you choose the right product to buy:  Best Bluetooth Earbuds
The best wireless earbuds in the budget category that we've tested are the Anker SoundBuds Curve Upgraded 2019. These wireless in-ear headphones are decently well-built and very stable, with an ear hook design that should allow them to stay in place even during intense workouts. Their sound profile has an overemphasized, but not overwhelming, bass range, which should add a little more thump and rumble to EDM and hip-hop tracks without totally overwhelming the vocals and lead instrumentals of other genres. With over 18 hours of continuous battery life, they should have no trouble lasting throughout a couple of days at work. Their in-line microphone offers decent recording quality, making your voice sound clear and bright. That said, their in-line mic struggles to isolate speech from even moderate background noise. Their main audio cable is also somewhat thin and flimsy-feeling, and if it's damaged, the entire unit would have to be replaced. Otherwise, their long battery life, decently well-balanced sound profile, and stable fit helps make them some of the best earbuds and in-ear headphones that we've tested.
If the Jabra Elite 75t is sold out or you own multiple Apple devices and want the easiest pairing experience, the Beats Powerbeats Pro set is a great choice. These true wireless earbuds use the same H1 chip as Apple’s AirPods, so you get the same fast, easy pairing and “Hey Siri” voice activation. Overall, the Powerbeats Pro earbuds are superior to the AirPods, adding full track and volume controls, water and sweat resistance, and a longer battery life of nine hours for listening (or six hours of calls). The buds stayed securely in our ears and sounded quite good, with only slightly boosted bass. However, the charging case is larger than we’d like (see the photo comparison below), the ear tips can make a crinkling noise when you adjust them in your ears, and at the original price of $250, the Powerbeats Pro earbuds are not cheap.
If you would like to choose for yourself, here's the list of all our reviews for wireless earbuds and in-ears. Be careful not to get caught up in the details. There are no perfect bluetooth earbuds. Personal taste, preference, and listening habits will matter more in your selection.
Earfun Free Pro: If the most important feature of your budget earbuds is that they are fantastic for phone calls, the Earfun Free Pro might be your match. The microphones reduce background noise very well when you take a call. We tested this with 85 dB airplane noise and were very impressed by how much hum the Free Pro was able to cut out, though the mics aren’t as effective with a gusty wind. These true wireless earbuds have stabilizing wings that help to keep them in place, each earbud works independently, and the charging case is easy to fit in a jeans pocket. The battery life ranges from 5-7 hours per charge, depending on volume levels, if you have the active noise cancellation on, and whether you take frequent calls. The IPX5 rating means you can get caught in a drizzle and not worry about your earbuds getting ruined. On the downside, the active noise cancelling is only average, bass notes sound formless and too loud, and the touch controls can be fussy.
Overall, the Powerbeats Pro is a solid pair of wireless earbuds. The biggest concern is the cost. At the original sticker price of $250, this set is more expensive than the Jabra Elite 75t and the Apple AirPods. Although we believe that the upgrade in performance here over the AirPods (or AirPods Pro) makes it a far better choice for hardcore Apple (or, let’s face it, Beats) enthusiasts, for everyone else we can’t quite justify the price enough to make this set our overall top pick.

How do I choose a Bluetooth headset?
Who doesn't dream of a life without cables, wires or links? Over the last few years, sales of wireless Bluetooth headsets have exploded on the market, a very practical solution for listening to music while playing sports, walking to work, and so on. We give you the best advice and keys to choose and buy a quality Bluetooth headset, pleasant and, of course, cheap. The cables in a wired headset usually have a "life of their own": it's impossible to put them away without them forming knots! A problem that many have forgotten thanks to Bluetooth technology, present in the majority of mobiles, with which you can buy a wireless headset that will make your life easier. Why choose a Bluetooth headset? Some will tell you that, even though the differences between wireless and wired headsets have faded over the years, the sound quality of a Bluetooth headset will always be inferior to that of a wired headset. Everyone has to make up their own mind on the subject... Either way, if you buy a quality Bluetooth headset, you will barely notice the difference. Wireless Bluetooth headsets are a fast-growing option for comfort and versatility, suitable for both jogging and taking the subway. There are a multitude of foldable headsets that can be carried and stored anywhere. The best advice before buying a Bluetooth headset is without a doubt to try it out. It obviously works, but each headset has a different sound, so if you put it on your head and listen to your favorite songs, you'll know if the headset is right for you. That said, there are other tips and keys to consider before you get started, to make sure you choose the best wireless headphones. Choosing a Bluetooth headset: The design There are wireless headsets for all tastes, with different manufacturing and finishing materials. You can choose from in-ear headphones or large headsets, open or closed, which have colonized the market in recent years. No more need to carry a huge battery in your backpack to make it work! Be aware that the materials used will make the difference in terms of price, but also on the lifetime of each headset. how to choose a bluetooth headset 1 Choosing a Bluetooth headset: weight Here's another thing to consider when buying your wireless headset: weight. If you use a headset to listen to music on the street for several hours, be careful and avoid Bluetooth headsets weighing more than 400 grams. Choosing a Bluetooth headset: Active noise reduction One of the most recommended options, but not suitable for everyone, is to opt for a Bluetooth headset with noise reduction. However, if you plan to use it while driving, cycling or jogging, avoid this option as it can be dangerous for you and those around you. There are several ways to avoid or minimize background noise. Passive technology, described by some advertisers as sound insulation, only attenuates outside noise. If you need headphones that really isolate you from what's going on around you, look for headphones with active noise reduction (ANC) that create an artificial sound wave that destroys interference and picks up ambient noise to produce an opposite-phase signal, destroying the noise.
Tumblr media
Choosing a Bluetooth headset: the battery Although they have evolved tremendously over the last decade, one of the major drawbacks of Bluetooth headsets is the battery life. It all depends on how you use it, but a wireless headset with a battery life of less than five hours can quickly take your mind off things. Larger headsets usually have a longer battery life, but you should think twice before taking them with you on the street or when playing sports. how to choose a bluetooth 2 headset Choosing a Bluetooth headset: the microphone We are entering quicksand. For https://geekinfinite.com/ , the headset with microphone belongs to another species because it is mainly designed for playing video games. For the same performance, they are generally more expensive than conventional Bluetooth headsets but can be used for playing games, listening to music or talking on Skype.

Short Introduction to the Bluetooth Technology
Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows devices to transfer data. Invented in 1994, the first version of Bluetooth could transmit data at a rate of 1 Mbit/s and operate at less than 10 meters. Bluetooth uses a 2.4 GHz radio frequency band to communicate information over a short distance, eliminating the need for wires. The idea of Bluetooth technology was conceived by the Dutch engineer Jacobus Cornelis Haartsen. He wanted to revolutionize the way we communicate with our devices and decided he needed to make a change in order to do so. It has been over 25 years since the conception of Bluetooth, and today it is used worldwide. There are multiple ways to connect two devices wirelessly. Still, Bluetooth is the most reliable, efficient, and cost-effective method compared to other wireless technologies. It's not just because of its speed, but also because it can reach a long distance and retain the signal strength. Bluetooth can be used in various ways, such as for headphones, speakers, wireless mouse and keyboards, printers, headsets, computers, and mobile devices. Ultimately, Bluetooth technology is one of the most useful technologies in our world today. It has revolutionized how we communicate with devices. It is very convenient for people who need to share large amounts of information, like business partners or co-workers, with others around them. It is important to use this technology wisely.
Types of Wireless Headphones - Enjoy Wireless Music Differently
The types of wireless headphones are typically categorized according to the various ways in which they connect with devices and headphone type. They can be classified as Bluetooth, radio frequency (RF), infrared (IR) or near field communication (NFC) and TWS headphones, wireless neckband headphones, wireless earbuds, or just wireless headphones. Standard Full-Size Wireless Headphones Standard full-size wireless headphones are the regular over-ear and on-ear headphones you see in Best Buy stores or Walmart overhead headphones sections. In general, standard full-size wireless headphones provide a respectable performance for most situations and good noise insulation for most conditions, but not all of them. Standard over-ear wireless headphones are mainly used for traveling by train or airplane, featuring active noise cancellation technology. The others are for leisure or casual music listening. These headphones are the norm and provide good noise insulation as well as bass response, thanks to their closed design. Advantages Passive noise insulation Quality sound reproduction Good bass response Wide soundstage Battery life Disadvantages Can be heavy Reduced portability Stability In short, standard full-size wireless headphones are simple and effective for most people. In some rare cases, their simplicity can be a limiting factor. In-ear Wireless Headphones Earphones or in-ear wireless headphones are small headphones that fit inside your ear canal instead of on your ears or around. They provide good passive noise isolation and are comfortable to wear. In ear headphones are the first type of portable headphones to hit the market, and they are still going strong. They're very good for people on the go, although they're less versatile than the newly introduced earbud-style of wireless headphones. In-ear wireless headphones aren't very efficient at producing deep bass because they have very small drivers. Advantages Portability Comfortable Water and Sweat resistance Passive noise insulation Charging case with additional autonomy Disadvantages Hygiene Poor audio quality Short battery life Stability True Wireless Earbuds True wireless earbuds, also known as true wireless stereo headphones (TWS), are a good option for those who want a gym-friendly pair of wireless headphones that provide a stable and reliable performance. They are compact in-ear headphones with an oval or round shape. Unlike in-ear headphones, they are not placed in the ear canal but on the outside of the ear, resting on the opening outside the ear canal, making them easier to wear. The benefit of this design is that it provides a bit more air and an open sound signature. The advantages of true wireless earbuds are clear: portability, compatibility with various devices, and comfort. The sound quality may be somewhat limited compared to other headphones types. Some sports earbuds have a wing or hook that provides the stability that in-ear earbuds lack and additional features such as a heart rate monitor, distance meter, etc. Advantages Portability Water and Sweat resistance Stability Passive noise insulation Charging case with additional battery Disadvantages Hygiene Poor audio quality Short battery life Wireless Neckband Headphones Wireless neckband headphones are not as popular as many would like them to be, but they're good, and I'll tell you why. This type of wireless headphones is a bit more practical than the others because their main purpose is to work as headphones for people who want a bit more than what wireless earbuds and in-ear headphones have to offer while still offering a somewhat convenient cordless experience. They have a similar design to earphones and earbuds, except that the two earpieces are connected by a cable that stays on the back of your neck, hence the name "neckband headphones." So they're not completely wireless, but the wires don't interfere with your activities either, and they still provide good noise isolation and plenty of technology as well as battery life. The earbud-style design is also much more ergonomic and less prone to fall out, and the sound quality tends to be better than in-ear wireless headphones as well as true wireless ones, but not significantly better. Advantages Bigger drivers Portability Passive noise insulation Water and Sweat resistance Stability Good battery life Disadvantages Hygiene Bulky Heavier Short total battery life Bone-conduction Headphones Bone conduction headphones are a different breed of wireless headphones. They are somewhat similar to neckband headphones in that they are worn around your neck, but they do not rely on air for sound. Instead, the audio is transmitted from the headphones to your inner ear via vibrations passing through your skull. Since they rely on vibrations, they are called bone conduction headphones, and users can hear the music without covering their ears, which is also quite hygienic. The result creates a sense of sound emanating from the bones of your skull, so it's a bit strange but effective. Their main use case is swimming and water-related activities. These headphones aren't particularly good at delivering bass and mid-bass frequencies in most cases, although many consider this a positive aspect of them. The same can be said about sound insulation. Some like the lack of it, others don't. Advantages Hygiene Waterproof and sweatproof Portability No sound insulation Immersive sound experience Disadvantages Weak bass response Poor audio quality Shorter total battery life No sound insulation Wireless Headphones by Connectivity We already have a section that characterizes wireless headsets based on connectivity. To avoid repeating things, please visit the section titled "Wireless Headset Connectivity (LINK HERE)" to read descriptions of each type of connectivity.

The Best Sounding Wireless Headphones
Enjoying high-res music without the hassle of cables has been a dream for many years. Choosing the best wireless headphones is no easy task, and we want to make it easy for you by presenting the best sounding wireless headphones the market has to offer. HiFiMan DEVA - The Best Sounding Wireless Headphones HiFiMan DEVAs are those hi-fi luxurious-looking wireless headphones that can play so well that $1500 Focal Elear headphones start sweating. These are true audiophile headphones with magnetic planar drivers, a built-in amplifier, and the best Bluetooth codecs to listen to high-res audio files: aptX HD and LDAC. And best of all, they cost less than $300 if you buy the BlueMini Bluetooth module and around $200 without it. These hi-fi wireless headphones have an above-average build quality and aesthetically pleasing design with metal grills on the ear cups' back and leatherette where needed. Despite the plastic, fabric, and leather on the headband and ear pads, the HiFiMan Deva feels rather heavy. Fortunately, the soft, breathable fabric ear cushions are exceptionally comfortable for all-day wear. Their battery life allows you to listen for 7-10, which is a bit shorter than we wanted, but the sound is so great, we don't really care. It quite makes sense for HiFiMan Deva to have such a low battery considering the built-in amplifier and power required to play with good dynamic, detail, and the right amount of basses. And to keep the design luxurious and elegant, the headset uses a Bluetooth module called "Bluemini," which sits at the end of the left earcup. Upon detaching, it uncovers the headphone jack port in which you can connect the headphones by cable. Whether connected by cable or Bluetooth, HiFiMan Deva's sound will be just as impressive. It has a rich, neutral sound, good dynamics, and high-fidelity character that reveals all of your music's subtle details, provides tight, incredible basses that are not overpowering, and just give you a great sound that will make you want to listen to more. For those looking for true audiophile sound at a price point that won't break the bank, HiFiMan Deva is the only alternative to high-end audiophile wireless headphones like Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless and HiFiMan Ananda-BT. The next couple of models in our list - Amiron Wireless and Lagoon Traveler ANC are part of Beyerdynamic's line of German-made wireless headphones designed for audiophiles. As they are both very expensive, they are held to higher sound performance standards and build quality. Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless - Take The Best Sound With You Anywhere Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless is a high-end wireless headphone that offers a high level of performance. Unfortunately, it's expensive. The Amiron Wireless delivers a true high-end audio experience and should be considered if you're looking for the highest quality sound possible. It's comfortable with touch-sensitive control keys, 30 hours of battery life, and the necessary Bluetooth codecs for the best listening experience: aptX HD and aptX LL. We like the supremely comfortable earpads and the extensive technological integrations, which is why Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless is one of the best wireless headphones in the market. The attention to detail helps reveal the emotion in the singers' vocals and the slight nuances of the instruments. The bass is deep and you can feel its true character. It is crisp and warm, while the mids rarely feel too loud, but play with adequate fullness. Read the full article

i have a kobo. there's a lot wrong with kobo's interfaces, starting with the way they're phone interfaces that rely on dragging for selecting text, but they're on a very laggy screen so you can't really select text with any precision in a reasonable amount of time. also you can't select the last word in the first paragraph of the page at all. which presumably is a bug and not interface dumbassery but still. and the default dictionaries suck. it can't be that hard to recognize conjugated verbs. come on. and you can sort of change them to something reasonable? but of course they reset every time you have to wipe the ereader because it got confused by usb cables and now doesn't recognize your computer.
But that's the ereader. what if you forgot your ereader at your parents' house the last time you visited? well the kobo app doesn't support linux, but who wants to read on a laptop anyway (also, at that point, l1bg3n). there is an android app, and android apps let you google-translate shit from the context menu. except guess what! the kobo app doesn't —presumably for anti-piracy reasons?*— so you're stuck with the shit default dictionaries that don't recognize conjugated verbs, and it being a drm-protected book you can't move it to a functional reader app, of course. not that the app seems to have download options for the non-drm-protected books (shoutout to tor.com) in your account.
then there's my headphones. they're ANC headphones but they're cheap. i don't know if expensive headphones do this better, but these announce change of state by voice. which is ridiculous. i don't need to hear "transparency" in a fixed, loud, volume every time, what the hell. also i don't want the transparency mode. i really wish i could disable it. the only thing that transparency has done for me so far is that i sometimes accidentally turn it on (somehow! and if i want to check i need to get the woman in the headphones to announce up to three states by voice, while cutting out my audiobook) and, at best, get very cranky after a while and don't realize why and at worst do like yesterday and walk by a bus and get the amplified bus sound right in my ears.
so now i have tinnitus and i can't sleep and i'm trying to read a book on my phone but i can't look up french verbs or really any minimally obscure words.
*although it does, of course, have a big share button. "what happens if you share a word to the linguee app?" well it does a lookup for "<word> <book title> by <author>", doesn't it?

The 5 Best Noise-Cancelling Headphones on Amazon
As the holidays creep closer, you may be hearing sounds of the seemingly endless choruses of overzealous carolers—it’s all part of the magic of the season, right?
Thus, if you're like me, you're gearing up to tune out, which means finally investing in a high-quality pair of noise-cancelling headphones.
One of my motto's for gift buying is to give something I would like to have. This way, if the person does not like the gift, I know I am thoughtful and they just have bad taste.
So, down the Amazon rabbit hole we go. From big-name, over-ear favorites, there’s a perfect pair here for any budget. Now all you have to do is hit play and let the holiday spirit take over.
Bose Noise-Cancelling Headphones 700
$379 at Amazon

It’s no secret that Bose is one of the biggest names in noise cancellation. This over-ear wireless set comes with 11 levels of active noise cancellation (ANC), plus a deep, balanced sound no matter how high you crank the volume up.
They’re also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, and you can get up to 20 hours of battery life on a single charge. A pair of 700s comes in white or black, and the lightweight stainless steel design should serve you well at the office or on a plane.
They aren’t cheap, but if you want a set that’ll last for the long haul, this is a good place to start.
New Bose QuietComfort 45 Bluetooth Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones - Triple Black
$329 $279 at Amazon
*Get 5% back ($13.49 in rewards)

Comfort - clue is in the name. QC45 is the modern 2021 evolution of QC35 - it is still the most comfiest pair of cans on the market, cloud feel, ultra refined - never mind airpods max or Sonys XM4s as I have tried these in the past - just outstanding and I have a 59cm large noggin.
If you value comfort and plan to wear these for extending periods definitely consider this model. Don't get a QC35 like some have said, no USB-C, older technology in general, and QC35 probably won't get much software support going forward (being the old model).
The soundstage is expanded much more so than Qc35s, excellent wide reaching stereo with decent positioning and imaging.
Beats Studio3 Over-Ear Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
$350 $307 at Amazon
*Get 5% back ($15.34 in rewards)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ever since the brand popped up in 2006, Beats has been making some of the best headphones around—period. The company was acquired by Apple in 2014, but it still churns out the same quality products with some upgraded tech features.
This pair uses Pure Adaptive Noise Cancelling technology to keep external noise out and produce the clearest possible playback. The soft, over-ear cushions fit like earmuffs, and their ergonomic design creates the flexibility to fit any head perfectly.
They’re compatible with either iOS or Android, and you can expect up to 22 hours of playback with a full charge.
Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
$350 $248 at Amazon
*Get 5% back ($12.40 in rewards)

If you’re looking for a pair of headphones with a classic look and tech-age features, look no further. This pair from Sony employs Dual Noise Sensor technology, plus Edge-AI to control volume based on your surroundings. There’s a touch sensor that allows you to move to the next song or answer a call without picking up your phone, and playback will automatically pause when you take the headphones off.
They also come with some of the best battery life available: A full charge will set you up with 30 hours of uninterrupted listening, and just a 10-minute charge will last for five hours.
Anker Soundcore Life Q20 Hybrid Active Noise-Cancelling Headphones
$60 $53.99 at Amazon
*Current Coupon Deal $6 OFF (10%) and Get 5% back ($2.69 in rewards)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For an affordable over-ear set that doesn’t compromise on performance, you should check out Soundcore by Anker. This pair comes with hybrid active noise cancellation and hi-res sound that competes with sets that cost five times as much. The impressive battery lasts for 40 hours in ANC mode, and you can stretch it to 60 if you stay in standard.
They’re also a great option for anyone who needs to feel bass in their bones. With Soundcore’s BassUp technology, a digital signal processor analyzes frequencies in real-time so you can get the most out of bass-heavy genres.
