this isn't a response to any request, i'm just online window-shopping again and wanted to shout out my favorite fragrance shop since i think the scents they sell can be pretty alterhuman friendly
demeter fragrance is my go-to for unhuman scents. smells that are hard to capture. they have a lot of florals, which is common for perfumes, but uncommon scents like asian pear, basil, and monk fruit. they have enjoyable but strange scents, like the ozone smell of thunderstorms, and the smell of freshly upturned soil (one of my favorites, the scent is called earthworm). they have some smells that are outright weird, like turpentine, funeral home bouquets, fresh tennis balls, and glue
if the sound of smells named things like riding crop, lotus, spacewalk, tarnish, and wet garden sound interesting to you, please check them out! their 0.5 oz/15ml cologne bottles are really conveniently sized. for a fragrance company that makes strange smells, their prices are really cheap. most of their scents can be bought as splash bottles, spray bottles, roll-ons, lotion, body wash, and body oil and have sampler spray bottles

hi!! :DD no please ask me about perfumes i try my best!! i'm not super knowledgeable on these but i'm trying to find ones you could at least get cheap samples of to try! i own santal 33 and it's not suuuper floral but it's very good, warm and smoky and it has a nice soft violet note. i'm not as sure on the others but i wanted you to see the notes just in case bc i'm not sure what kind of florals you enjoy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i think byredo is pretty ok samples wise at least, i normally only really buy samples so i can't fully gauge prices but i think byredo does good fragrances! i own mojave ghost
Tumblr media Tumblr media
body seems expensive at first but i looked it up and i'm finding pretty decent prices for this online, not from burberry itself and i also have a website that does fantastic dupes for cheap of a decent amount of perfumes, another for more expensive but nicer dupes, and i'm sure you could find decants as well if these are out of the price range i'm not very good at finding firsthand prices or at least i got too sucked into finding ones that might fit what you want, if you give me tips for florals you like i could definitely find more you'd like and i could take my time and look at prices for you!

Hi Marie! What does B540 Girl mean?
Hi! :) In short, it refers to a girl who wears Baccarat Rouge 540, a very strong perfume. On public transport, sitting in the same cart as someone like this can be really, really annoying (or worse, depending on your nose, your allergies, and other factors the "B540 Girl on the Train"TM doesn't care about). So basically, what I was saying was "we can be sure we're not the type of person who wears a very heavy fragrance, disregarding the needs of the people around them".
There is more to say about this specific example, however - regarding current trends, greed and luxury, respect and status symbols, etc. I got carried away and did say it, and you're welcome to read it if you'd like! :) You don't have to, though, the short version sums up what I meant in the ask)
Baccarat Rouge 540 is a scent created by Francis Kurkdijan, a perfumer who has created a lot of very popular fragrances for different fragrance houses over the years. This scent, he created for his own brand, Maison Francis Kukrdijan. So the fragrance is sometimes shortened to "Baccarat Rouge" or, more cryptically, "B540 by MFK". This is a niche brand, which means a bottle will cost you between 250-450€.
The scent is incredibly popular and currently, we live in a time were "dupe" has become a very accepted concept. When I was a teenager, we called those counterfeits "knock offs" or "fakes" and the mere concept was embarrassing. So, in other words: The market is flooded with B540 knock offs. Zara sells one, for example. Kurkdijan himself has produced similar scents for other houses before creating this one for his own brand, for example Burberry Her Elixir. Cloud by Ariana Grande is also said to be very similar, but I'm not sure whether he created it. You'll find hundreds of tiktok girlies proudly showing off their fake B540s online and discussing which knock off is most convincing. Shein culture for perfume. Which is unfortunate, because the scent itself is most definitely very well done - FK is no doubt a skilled perfumer. However, this scent to me is always connected to this tacky greed that sticks to dupe culture. "How can I get this for cheaper?" - this is not meant to attack people who can't afford perfume this expensive. I think most of us would think three times before spending 250€. BUT the shein haul mindset of "if I get the knockoff of this, I can ALSO get the knockoff of that, and the knockoff of that, too, since it's all so cheap anyways" is very gross to me. It's pure greed and gluttony, there's no love or respect for the actual product anymore. --- Again, this doesn't apply to everyone who buys knockoff perfumes or tries to get a fragrance that is similar to one they like but can't afford. I have nothing negative to say to these people, I know what it's like. I'm saying that unfortunately, to me personally, B450 has become a symbol for a specific kind of gluttony.
To sum up this part: The scent is very popular. It's a status symbol, but you can also douse yourself in dupes and similar scents for a very wide range of prices.
As for the scent: This scent is very strong. Again, it's popular and taste is subjective. It's extremely sweet, smells of red fruits with something "deeper" that to me feels as if you're eating a bunch of mushed, sugared fruits (strawberries, red currant..?) with a handful of dirt thrown in. It grinds between my teeth. I notice when people wear this scent (or a similar one) around me, and it quickly becomes oppressive to me. I probably don't notice every single girl who wears a variation of this scent, but since it IS so very popular where I live, whenever I go out (shopping, uni, public transport), I'm very likely to encounter at least one person that smells like this. Strongly and oppressively. This also slips into another conversation around a current trend where the goal is to smell "so the whole room can smell you" - which is wildly inconsiderate not only to people with allergies, but also jsut to normal people who don't want to be trapped with your perfume. It's the equivalent of playing tiktoks on your phone on public transport. But once more, I don't want to hint that every girl who wears this fragrance (or a similar one) just showers in it, ignorant towards the damage she's doing to the people in her surroundings. It's a strong perfume, and when you get too used to is, you might end up overdoing it without noticing. OR, also an option: I notice is especially because the scent isn't pleasant to me.
To summarise: to me a "B450 girl" is someone who smells very strongly of a fragrance without regard or respect for the people around her, and who's a slave to fast fashion ideas of trendiness. It's a symbol more than a real person, and as such, it's a symbol for trends that are both inconsiderate and tacky.

Next up in my Orchid series:
Oncidium Sharry Baby Sweet Chocolate Fragrance
That's a mouthful...
But guess what? She does smell like Chocolate. Kinder chocolate, to be exact. That was a delightful surprise XD
She is also a massive Orchid and pretty new to my collection. She was already this big when I got her this summer, which was a surprise. I ordered her from an online nursery for about 15€. Thats really cheap here for a not standard sort Orchid this size. The others I got in the same order where absolutely dwarfed by this one, lol.
I had to instant repot her, though, because the pot she came in was NOT bigger that that of the other ones. Looked like a critically overfilled icecreamcone. Sadly don't have pictures of that.

how do I get into fragrances.... where do you get samples? is there a guide for noobs?
hiya!! firstly, i would think twice because it's rlly fucking expensive lol secondly, it really depends on your location, budget, personal taste, etc.
fragrantica is the best website for beginners - you can search up basically any fragrance for notes and reviews, and pay lots of attention to reviews, because notes on their own can be very misleading.
i would start with:
has there ever been a perfume you liked and bought? research the notes, then look through the 'silimar to' section on fragrantica and look up the notes by themselves to find similar perfumes.
what type of scents do you like? gourmand (caramel, chocolate, vanilla), clean (white musk), aromatic (lavender, rosemary), flowery (rose, jasmine, orange blossom), fruity (plum, peach, fig), etc?
if you're into that, find some influencers depending on your taste (ie perfumerism on tiktok)
research!
rock up to your local shop and smell around before you order anything online. sephora, space nk, independent shops, etc.
start with designer and graduate to niche. designer fragrances are generally more mass-appealing and less likely to make you gag (and some niche fragrances can and will make you gag), but, in many cases, just as good in quality.
don't allow influencers to put you off designer fragrances - ysl, jpg, dior, maison margiela, etc. sometimes, something is popular because it's good.
remember: spending £300/$400 or more for one bottle of perfume is and will always be insane; don't be put off dupes, because some are VERY GOOD for the fraction of a price of the original (see: sharaf blend vs angel's share); research arab perfumes - if you're into making a certain impression, they are it; no blind buys unless the blind buy is VERY cheap.
here's a few sample websites based on location: uk: tinyfragrances.co.uk, fragrancesamplesuk.com, myperfectscent.co.uk; eu: amyrisessenze, essenzanobile.de; us: twistedlily.
hope this helps!
edit and important addition: sauvage by dior is good, yet, unfortunately, the ultimate fuckboy fragrance. any man wearing that is a flag a deeper shade of red than the most. beware.

Tips from a recovering nail biter
My lil tip for nail biters who wanna quit - scented cuticle oil. Well, cuticle oil in general, but scented cuticle oil is even better.
If you can't deal with any added fragrance, try oil blends with stronger natural scents like rosehip or essential oils (whichever ones you can tolerate, I know not all are sensitive skin/nose friendly). The idea is to pick a scent that's pleasant but not associated with food. Those fruity and bakery scents are nice but may encourage you to nibble if you already have trouble keeping your hands out of your mouth. The idea is to condition yourself to associate that particular scent with "hands away from mouth". I like typical perfume scents, so I went with jasmine and rose.
I make my own cuticle oil. It's easy, cheap and there are dozens of recipes online. Most of them are jojoba-based, but feel free to add other oils or ingredients for added benefits. If you wanna keep it simple, jojoba oil straight from the bottle will work wonders all by itself.
Try to keep some kind of cuticle balm or oil on your person at all times. Treat it like chapstick for your nails. Rub a little on your nails every time you remember, you really can't do it too much. Keep your hands clean, but don't excessively expose them to water or harsh chemicals. Use gloves when cleaning (extremely important, borderline non-negotiable), and groom your cuticles daily.
Nail hardening polishes aren't bad but they're not the best. They can help protect your nails in a pinch, but they tend to overcorrect, making your nails more prone to breaks. If you can, I recommend getting a few mani supplies instead, like polish and orange sticks/a cuticle pusher. You'll want a barrier over your nails at pretty much all times. I'm biased toward gel, so I recommend a base coat, a topcoat, and a rubber builder gel. Normal polish is perfectly fine if you don't wanna fuss with UV or have an allergy. Just get a top, a base, and whatever color you want to wear whether it's nude or something fun. I don't care if you're masc or a man. You don't need a color on your nails if you don't want it but you will need something. Top coats come in matte if you don't like shine. If you're going with gel you have to use a rubberized base coat. Most biters have thin, flat nail beds that need support as they grow out. Rubber base gels provide protection and flexibility.
Rubber base coat + (whatever color you want) + top coat = profit.
Soak the polish off and replace it when it grows out (every week or two for me, but it depends on how fast your nails grow), but make sure to give your fingers a day or overnight to breathe between sets (if you wear anything heavier than a few coats of polish). Darker colors like deep reds or black can stain pretty fast, even with a base coat. Don't be alarmed if you remove your polish to see that they're brownish. You're fine. You haven't given yourself some horrible nail disease.
If you're starting off with broken skin, protect it. Wear a bandage over your boo-boos until they've healed up. Get a pair of nippers and get into the habit of using them to clip off hang nails or peeling skin. Don't let me catch you biting them off with your teeth. No, it's not fine just because it isn't your actual nail.
Controversial, but I don't recommend running to the nail salon in your first month of recovery. Fake nails are amazing for protecting your real ones as they grow out, but if you've just decided to stop biting, I'd wait a while before getting a set. 2-4 weeks at least. You'll want to begin the process of breaking your muscle memory before spending upwards of 50 bucks on a set that you'll just be tempted to eat off. Fake nails are not a replacement chew toy, they're a shield. I also recommend that you keep them as short as you can, just barely longer than your natural nail if not the same length. It may be tempting to go for those sexy stilettos or 2-inch coffins but trust me, life is different with longer nails. You have to work your way up to that length. Even a few millimeters can make a huge difference in how you function and you don't want to risk damaging your natural nails.
I also use Hard as Hoof cream before bed and after every shower and hand wash - that's really important. You'll always want to oil up your fingies. It's about 8 dollars USD and I thiiiink you can get it at drug stores. I get mine on Amazon. It really is a wonder product for your nails and really nice on my dry ass knuckles too.
I've been a nail-biter for over 25 years and this is the farthest I've ever gone without a relapse. Seeing my bell-shaped nails slowly return to a normal shape has been so reassuring. I always believed I'd gnawed myself into ugly nails forever, but nature is finally healing.
No matter how bad your nails look, recovery is possible! Be friendly to yourself. If you've been biting for years, you won't recover in 2 weeks. It's a process, and I believe in you.

How to clean cutting boards and butcher block counters
A friend on discord said they'd appreciate a cutting board care tutorial so here it is!
Note 1: sometimes wooden counters are treated or sealed. You can still clean them like this but the oils and wax will not absorb into sealed wood.
Note 2: when working with wood, always go with the grain. Follow the lines of the wood when cleaning, oiling, waxing or anything else.
Note 3: this is a messy process that takes hours. I usually do it in my underwear to keep from getting oil on my clothes.
First Step: Clean!
You can use dish soap and hot water on a cutting board but doing it super often can dry them out and cause cracking. I pretty much only use soap if I cut raw meat or something super sticky that won't rinse off.
For countertops I use distilled white vinegar and scrub it with a rag. This won't get the stains out but if I wanted stainless countertops I wouldn't have one made of wood.
Tumblr media
This little cart thing is from Ikea and is like a portable kitchen island or countertop. It's raw wood and I use it to cook so it's got all kinds of food stains, even though I wipe it down regularly. I've already cleaned it with vinegar in these photos, but it's been a few months since I've oiled and waxed it. You can see how pale and dry the wood is.
Second Step: Oil!
You want to use mineral oil. It is odorless, flavorless, very unlikely to cause allergic reactions, and cheap. Don't buy cutting board oil. It's just overpriced mineral oil. Don't use a food oil like coconut or flax or almond. They will eventually go rancid and make your cutting board smell rancid. Buy your mineral oil at the drugstore from the laxatives section.
Tumblr media
Drizzle that shit on your wood. Be sparing to start as you can always add more.
Tumblr media
Rub it in with your hands. You want the wood evenly soaked with oil. Rub it into the whole surface and into the sides as well. If you're doing this to a cutting board, make sure to get every side and edge.
Bare hands work best and the oil will leave your hands so soft. If you use a rag (not recommended!) please be aware that oily rags can spontaneously combust and dispose of them carefully.
Tumblr media
I love how the color changes to a richer darker brown as the wood absorbs the oil.
Tumblr media
Once you have a nice thick coat of oil on your board, let it hang out for an hour or so to absorb as much of it as it can. If any spots look dry, add more oil. (I admit I skipped the wait this time.)
Step 3: Wax!
Cutting board conditioner is so expensive but really it's just a mix of mineral oil and wax, sometimes with some kind of fragrance added. You can make your own at home for way cheaper, either in the microwave if you're making a small batch or in a double boiler if you wanna make a big batch. You can find a ton of tutorials online for this by searching for "cutting board conditioner recipe" but basically you just melt the wax (beeswax is the best IMO) and mix in some mineral oil. The ratio of wax:oil is a preference thing. I like around 1:3, my sister uses 1:5, I saw someone online who prefers 1:8. Find your own ideal.
Tumblr media
I also use mine as lip balm and cuticle cream.
But however you acquire the stuff, it's time to smear it all over your over your cutting board, just like you did the oil. If you're using a softer blend than mine, you will likely need to wipe up any excess oil before waxing.
Tumblr media
Rub it in until you have a smooth even coat.
Tumblr media
Let it hang out and absorb for another hour or two. I waited about 90 minutes this time. Then wipe off any excess wax with paper towels until the surface is no longer tacky.
Tumblr media
Your board or counter is now ready to use again!

pls tell us perfume recommendations!! i want to get into the art of having my own signature scent but i feel like the world of body mists and perfumes is so vast. do you have any recs for like sweet, fruit like scents? i feel like a lot of perfumes r very floral like and i am not a fan of them :”(
omg please i love when people ask me perfume questions. i’m a gourmand girl who doesn’t love florals on me and i have a lot of favorite fruity scents ranging from lotions and body sprays to perfumes!
- anything snow fairy by lush is a very sweet, candy like flavor. like strawberry bubblegum. SO distinct but the lotion or dusting powder layer so nicely with other sweet gourmands
- i’d be crazy if i didn’t include bath & body works somewhere here bc they have so many scents and a lot of them are very layerable with perfumes. my faves are strawberry soda (self explanatory, VERY spot on smell imo) and blueberry pancakes (love blueberry scents and it’s very buttery too, smells so good)
- soft by al rehab is a very affordable perfume oil that to me smells like very powdery candied citrus. layers beautifully and i get compliments on this one all the time as well!
- if you’re interested in higher end scents, fraaagola saalaaata by hilde soliani is a really sweet salted strawberry scent that i think smells SO good lol, i got a sample of it and am obsessed. the full bottle is like $140 but samples are pretty widely available online!
- sugar milk co has a range of really fruity gourmand scents and i love everything i have by them. they have a strawberry milk one i really want to try but i def think they’re worth looking into bc they have a lot of options! also the small roll ons are like $18 and i have 4 they’re so cute and worth it
- i’m (unfortunately) a fan of tom ford perfumes but i’m cheap so i bought a dupe of lost cherry and it smells sooo good. it’s called cherry smash by ALT fragrances and it’s really nice if you’re looking for a more mature fruit scent. it smells like sweet boozy cherries, i love it and it lasts ALL day on me

similar to an ask you already got but do you have any good summer scents? i really need a summer scent as all of the ones i bought are definitely more fall appropriate. my summer is gonna be full of going out on the lake, going on walks/hikes through fir trees and ferns, etc. maybe some bonfire notes in one of them? just something that screams summer- sweet but active and fun, maybe a lil earthy and salty. thank you!!! maybe even one based around a humid summer evening as well...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
before the rainbow by the fine'ry
this is inspired by a way more expensive fragrance by jo malone, but it's infinitely better and cheap!! fresh, salty, and earthy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
venus euplea by nui colbalt designs
a cheap indie fragrance that holds up pretty well for summertime. it's got a zest from the lime, coolness from the honeydew, and everything together gives off a sort of summer ocean breeze vibe
Tumblr media Tumblr media
cape heartache by imaginary authors
definitely recommended before, but i will never back down on my love for her... absolutely perfect fragrance for a summer full of being in nature. makes me think of my oregon camping summer days 🫶
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sailing day by replica
sorry for Another more oceanic recommendation, but sailing day is a really good summer fragrance!! it's spicy, salty, a liiittle floral...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a city on fire by imaginary authors
now this one is for your bonfire request specifically! if you want to smell like you've just got back from a bonfire, this is the go-to. maybe a bit heavy on the burnt smell, but it dries down alright after a while. you will definitely smell like fire smoke out in nature
other recommendations (hit the photo limit lol):
woody tobacco by dossier — a cheaper alternative to jazz club by replica. i LOOOVE this fragrance and i think it suits your request well. jazz club is fantastic but more expensive, either one would work 👍
fume by hendley — sadly sold out right now but you might find it somewhere online. pine, incense, green earthy goodness i love it and this would be my #1 recommendation if you can find it somewhere!
vince camuto by...vince camuto — yummy musky peppery citrus lavender wood smell!! its longevity is kind of crap if im being honest but it really is a good smell
i hope these help!! tbh i have more i could probably recommend if you're unsure of these

Violette EDT by Outremer
Tumblr media
I really wanted to like this one! The online reviews were largely positive, the packaging (of which this is only one variation!) is absolutely charming! It comes in a variety of sizes, and there's even an oil-based parfum extrait available, which had me dreaming of all sorts of possibilities (scented powder... bath salts?)... But, unfortunately, it just did not suit the bill.
Let's cut to the most important question: does this smell like violets? Well, the answer is... sometimes? A bit? I catch whiffs of a recognizable Violet freshness from time to time, but it's smothered or complicated by too many other things on top of it. Too much of something like cloves at first (which can sometimes have a slight violet-like effect but only in glimpses- like a peripheral glance. Too much and the resemblance crumbles) and the "powdery" note is too dry and dusty and almost sour... reminding me of the cheap knock-off "Smells Like..." perfumes my grandmother used to buy at the drug store*. It's too needlessly complicated for a soliflore, in my opinion, which is what it's supposed to be. Scent is highly subjective, and this fragrance might be appealing to and on other people, but it simply wasn't for me.
*I am not sneering at cheap, drugstore perfumes as a whole! Some of my favorites have been of that class, and I've tried more "prestigious" scents that didn't do anything for me. But there's still a certain type I mean, haha.

Are you safe? Online or home? Safe?
Word count 571
Mentions of online stalking and dick photos, home intruders.
Yandere
Tumblr media
            Unfriended.
"This guy is a creep! Dick photos really! Unfriend" going through all the steps to unfriend the creep, mission accomplished I should have gone with my gut instinct in the first place. All the direct messages, the personal questions he was invading my privacy like a pest, unfriend the social media  post control. Where do you live? Vague, always reply with non descriptive vague answers.  What's your digits? Who talks like this? No you are not getting my number. The feeling that this creep was stalking my online activity. No proof, just a feeling. Now dick photos. I feel safer already.
'You will regret this' what does this mean? What no more dick photos laughing out loud. A momentarily pause of unease, dont be stupid he is online he doesn't know where you live, your phone number or for that matter your name, he is just talking through his ass!
Block!.
🎲
"Just great!" The shower rose continues to drip, "damn it".
The main office politely informs  they will send someone to look at it, as soon as possible.
Tumblr media
Knock knock knock.
Opening the door, San stands on the entranceway, overalls covering his frame, the apartment logo embroidered into the fabric, holding what can only be assumed as a tool kit. "Shower probs?" He asks in a polite congenial manner. Yes yes. San makes polite conversation as he works and fixes the issue. Once the job is completed "nice to meet you, if you have any other problems, call me" he hands over a piece of paper with a number. "Thank  you".
In the ensuing weeks, San waves as he passes on the maintenance buggy, a genuine smile canvases his face. Nice guy.
"I'm just being paranoid," although I'm positive I did not use that coffee mug this morning. Looking into the Refrigerator, something is wrong. I just can not place my finger on it.
Examining the shampoo bottle, "how much have I used? When did I buy it?" On closer inspection the conditioner seems to be lower than expected. The towels are still damp?
A very faint scent of men's cologne lingers in the air, looking around 'am I alone?'  Frantically  searching the apartment, under the bed, the closest, every nook and cranny in fact. I am alone! Maybe a  maintenance guy was here? No! We always inform you beforehand, apartment rules. Just my imagination then.
"I can't find them anywhere?" Searching the drawers, the laundry basket, everywhere. "Dammit I just bought them" frustration edging the tone. Frigging sick of the dryer stealing my knickers.
How many pairs have gone AWOL? Lost count! It's not  like they are cheap! Guess I will order more, sighing.
"Dirt!" I know this is not me! I would not traipse dirt through the apartment aimlessly.  The dirt trail leads to the kitchen bathroom and bedroom. Sweeping up the soil, had to be the maintenance guys! Right?
"No there was no scheduled maintenance for your apartment"
Are you sure?  Nothing in the books.
Unlocking the door, the scent of men's fragrance is looming and drifting within. Flicking on the light switch,  "what the fuck!".
The apartment is plastered with dick photos, they cover all the walls, everywhere you look the photo mocks you. Stunned and stumbling walking through the apartment, something on the bed catches the eye.
A note in bold black lettering.
'You can not block me!'.

(1/2) hi, so branching off of a question you answered about specific details where you mentioned knowing the scents Armand would have Daniel wearing/15th century scents being your specialty etc.: fragrances are such an obsession of mine (esp. learning more abt historical fragrances) and i would Love to hear you talk more on that subject and about those aforementioned analogous modern products 👀
(2/2) when i first read the detail about how Armand had Daniel wearing a frankincense-clove-cinnamon blend and how it melded with his usual cig smoke aroma i thought ahh man what an atmospheric gift this is. i also immediately wanted to know if there's a real world frag that you had in mind when writing that or if i'm just going to have to be insane and make my own Daniel blend to sniff haha
So when it comes to 15th/16th century perfume there's a couple things going on that's important: ambergris and civet musk. These are the base notes of so many perfumes from the time. Ambergris comes from sperm whales and while still legal to use, it just doesn't get put in perfume anymore. Civet musk was straight up banned in the 90s.
Which means whatever modern perfume you get, it's not going to smell 'right'. Synthetic musk smells nothing like the real thing. But when Daniel and Armand were first together the real stuff was still being used so high quality perfume that matched historical scents would have been around.
As far as other notes go, there's two main categories: herbs/florals, and woods/spices/resins.
For herbs and florals you see a lot of lavendar, rose, chamomile, rosemary, sage, elderflower, jasmine, carnations, lily, juniper, orange blossom, and saffron.
For woods, resins, and spices you see a lot of sandalwood, agarwood, benzoin, cinnamon bark, cloves, frankincense and mastic resin.
They would be formulated in either a water base or an oil base. Rosewater and olive oil were common. And you either go for a spicy scent or a heavily floral scent.
SO. FOR MODERN PERFUMES.
The scent I described Daniel wearing is based on a real 15th century Venetian perfume called Olio di Gugliemo Piacentino. I don't know of a modern perfume that smells the same- in my head, Armand had it custom blended for him (because of course he would).
Number 1: You want to go for eau d'parfum. Most expensive, yes, but this is the strongest smells and won't be diluted with synthetic stuff that changes the scent profile. If you can get online and get an antique bottle that isn't gone sour, it'll be even more similar to renaissance scents.
Number 2: I suggest sticking to scents where the name includes or even hints at the scent profile itself. I just have more luck finding stuff that doesn't smell synthetic that way.
Number 3: Obviously these perfumes are insanely high priced. Sniff them, find one you like, then google a good dupe and go sniff that if you want to buy and wear it yourself. It won't wear the same but it'll be similar and not $500+
The two perfume houses I'd start with are Tom Ford and Clive Christian. Some specific scents are: Oud Wood (Tom Ford, woody/ spicy), Rose Prick (Tom ford, floral/roses), Jasmin Rouge (Tom Ford floral/amber), Amber Fougere (Clive Christian, resin/amber), 1872 Masculine (Clive Christian, floral/herbal/woody).
You can also find people doing recreations on Etsy (ymmv) and you can find the recipes to makes it yourself but the components are super expensive.
Another cheap way to dupe a scent profile from a historical recipe book is to get matching essential oils, put a couple drops into a carrier oil like olive oil, and then wear that.
I hope that answers your question ♥

Best perfume for men

Original Tulsi Mala
Original Tulsi Mala: Buyer’s Guide
Understanding Tulsi Mala
Tulsi Mala is considered sacred in Hinduism. It is often worn for spiritual and health benefits.
There are mainly two types of Tulsi Mala
Krishna Tulsi (darker beads)
Rama Tulsi (lighter beads)
Both are revered but may be chosen based on personal or spiritual preference.
Material of the Tulsi Mala
Beads :- The beads must be made up of genuine Tulsi wood. The wood has to be of a smooth texture and a natural, woody fragrance.
String :- The beads are typically strung on silk or cotton thread. A sturdy thread mala ensures durability.
Knotting :- A good quality Tulsi mala prevents them from rubbing against each other by having individual knots between each bead.
How to Identify Authentic Tulsi Beads ?
Color :- Krishna Tulsi beads are darker in color, while Rama Tulsi beads are lighter in color. The color must be natural, not dyed.
Weight :- Authentic Tulsi beads are lightweight. If the mala is unusually heavy, it means that it might be made from a different material.
Fragrance :- Real Tulsi beads emit a pleasant , mild , woody scent. A  fake bead will lack the fragrance or will have an artificial smell.
Surface:- Authentic Tulsi beads have a smooth, slightly glossy surface. Check for natural wood grain patterns.
Buyer Check
Certificates of Authenticity :- Some dealers will provide certificates or guarantees of authenticity. This can assure the buyer  of getting a genuine product.
Seller Reputation :- Buy from reputed dealers or from stores that have spiritual items or Ayurvedic products.
Purpose and Size
108 Beads :- Traditional malas have 108 beads, which has its significance in Hinduism and Buddhism. Some might also have beads of 54 or 27.
Bead Size :- Beads range from 5 mm to 10 mm. Larger beads might be used for wearing, while Smaller beads are preferred for meditative purposes.
Price Considerations
Cost :- A genuine Tulsi mala is mostly affordable, but a cheap mala could indicate fake material or  poor quality .
Value for Money :- Balance cost with quality. A well-made Tulsi mala of genuine beads is worth a moderate investment.
Where will I find it ?
Physical Stores :- Visit trusted and Authentic spiritual or Ayurvedic stores where you can inspect the mala physically.
Online Purchase :- In Online buying, ensure that the seller has good reviews, offers clear descriptions about the product, and has a return policy in case if mala is not as described. You can try our online store tulsimala.in
How to Maintain Tulsi Mala ?
Cleaning :- Wipe the beads with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid exposing them to water, chemicals or perfumes.
Storage :- Keep the mala in a dry, clean place. Storing it in a cloth or wooden box is ideal to maintain its longevity and sanctity.
Usage and Wear
Wearing :- Traditionally, a Tulsi mala is worn on the wrist or neck . It can also be used for  japa meditation or chanting.
Respect :- Handle the mala with respect and care, as it’s considered sacred.
How to recognize Fake Malas
