You’ll float too. It takes many forms. Based on the Stephen King novel, a group of friends decide to take on the evil entity residing in their town after a members younger brother becomes one of its victims. Scary (as it should be) and good. I’m not sure how I feel about the time jump - having the kids be in the 80s instead of the 50s like in the book (I’ll reserve judgement til I see the second part), but for me part of the chill/horror factor was that they didn’t have immediate communication in either parts of the book...it wouldn’t be as scary if they can just call each other up on a cellphone, or look stuff up about Pennywise or Derry history online, like it was the kids and their wits against It, they didn’t and couldn’t rely on anything but each other/themselves. I thought the kids and Pennywise were well cast, though they could’ve switched Eddie and Stan and it would’ve been fine too. I didn’t like that all of Mike’s research and town history storyline was given to Ben (what’s Mike gona do now?!) or that Ben was made the new kid (was that only so they could do all the NKotB references?!). Beautiful cinematography, and I’d definitely buy the soundtrack if it included all the songs in the movie.
