[CHAESOL] Meeting for the first time in the film-set

She walked past the large open doors and met the chaos in the set. Not holding back a small sigh, Chaesol felt a sting in her neck; she shouldn’t have slept in the couch of Nayoon’s house. Well, it isn’t like I can do much now.

Moon Chaesol was not in a good mood that day and Heejin, that had been trying to get closer to her since when they were recording the reality before their debut, was the first one to notice it. Good Day’s leader was small and looked a little awkward at first, but she was incredibly attentive and sweet. Chaesol’s mouth curved in a faint smile remembering the older’s frown when she refused to have them accompany her into her schedule.

“Chaseol-ah,” she had called with a careful tone in that morning, “eonnie can go with you, it isn’t a bother.”

“No, it’s okay. You guys have the day off and I wouldn’t like that you spent it with watching me linger around a film-set.”

No matter how much Heejin insisted, Chaesol didn’t accept at all. Now, with only their manager by her side, she thought that maybe it would have been better if she allowed Heejin to go with her; she was feeling a little lonely.

Nonetheless, she had work to do so as soon as they entered in the set, Chaesol went straight to do her hair and make-up. She wasn’t playing any big roles, it was more of a cameo appearance to try to promote the group a little more. Truly, she didn’t know why their manager chose her, but Chaesol accepted gladly when he came with the work proposal.

Even though she was trying hard to be happy there, she wanted to go back to her room and listen to their album again (debuting was a dream coming true and she loved it). Chaesol and the girls didn’t have much of a chance to experience new things such as acting, so she didn’t really know what to do there. She was very nervous-

A staff member, with a pretty smile and hair appeared in front of her and she momentarily forgot what she was thinking about. Chaesol’s eyes widened a little as she realized that person was really cute and she didn’t notice she was staring until the staff member chuckled a little.

“Hello, I’m the one taking care of you today,” that adorable person said. “You are Good Day’s Chaesol right?” she nodded a little and the other’s smile widened. “Nice to meet you. Please, sit down. I’ll make you even prettier than you already are,” the staff member winked and Chaesol’s mouth opened in surprise making the other laugh.

She sat down on the chair and, trying to be discreet, looked at the staff’s face through the mirror while she felt the hands working on her hair. It took her a few long minutes of silence before she noticed how weird she was for staring at that stranger.

Making her eyes avert from the mirror, she heard another giggle. Her cheeks flushed slightly.

“Are you nervous?” the staff asked. “You don’t have to. I feel like you’ll do great.”

Chaesol blinked a few times. Maybe I should say something. “I’m- I’m not saying anything, but I guess I am nervous,” she said and cracked an awkward smile.

The staff member looked at her and gave the most reassuring smile ever. “It’s okay to be nervous, but I’m sure you’ll do great. I listened to Good Day’s album a lot of times and I think you have a wonderful voice and that you won’t have any problems to day, okay?”

She blinked a few more times, feeling a little overwhelmed by the sudden ‘don’t worry, you are great’ talk, and nodded slightly. “Okay,” she said in a small, shy voice that wasn’t that typical of her.

“So that’s settled then! I’ll be working with you all day long so I’m glad that we are getting along,” and that cute smile again. “Chaesol-ssi, I hope that is fine with you?”

Yes. That is more than fine by me.

[ARTICLE] GOOD DAY’s practice with Bae Jinyoung, Wanna One’s Debut & their feeling

C9 Entertainment’s 10 member rookie girl group “GOOD DAY” have created traffic within the music industry. 

Good Day will release their first mini album “ALL DAY, GOOD DAY” on the 30th August at 6 pm, making their official debut. With the exception of Haeun who has been practising for her debut for 7 years whilst the remainder, other girls have been practising for about a year and 6 months to 2 years at the most. 

Nayoon said “I started my life as a trainee and C9 is my first company. I don’t worry about the other members but I can’t help but feel nervous but I’m glad my dream of debuting is coming true.”

“We’ve been practising together for 2 years but then the time comes we have to spread our wings and fly towards debut. It feels like a chicken in a chick” (they still feel like the chick although they have become a chicken, they have grown but they can’t help but feel vulnerable) Cherry said.

“Our debut is less than a week away and it feels like time has passed by so fast, I’m shaking with excitement,” Chaseol said.

Jiwon added “When I debut, I feel like I’ll have a job and I will get a sense of responsibility. I feel like I will have to bear the burden and I’ll finally be able to show what I have prepared.” 

Lucky said, “Of course it’s trembling and frightening, but I want to show you what we have prepared as a group.”

“I’ve been practising for a long time, ever since I was a child. I felt like I was so far away from my debut, I can’t believe that the date of the debut is right under my nose, I can’t wait for it.” Bomin said

“I’ve wasted a lot of my time, I’ve witnessed a lot of my friends’ debut. I was previously preparing my debut with another team with another company but that didn’t go to plan and before I knew it, 7 years had passed. But with C9 has put us together and thought that we should debut and I’m glad I’m debuting with them. Although a lot of time has passed, but never the less, I look forward to making my debut.” Haeun commented. 

Heejin spoke “This is my last week being a trainee before I debut in Good Day. It all feels very surreal but I have a strong drive to show as much of myself as possible.”

Viva replied “I don’t feel nervous about the debut yet, which is probably because I never thought that I would debut. We shall debut in 7 days and in that time, I want to show everything that I have prepared to the public.”

Genie commented “Once I was preparing for my debut, I believed that when the time came, I would debut and it would be the perfect ending to a hard life. As debut approaches, I feel like this is only the beginning. Which makes it seem like there will be many responsibilities and I feel like there will be a lot of hardships & I shouldn’t consider them as something that I can easily pass but as something I should learn. There are many people who are also struggling with hardships. The more I come out and see the world and the more people I meet, then the more I feel like I should act more cautiously. The more I think I shouldn’t act as I had before in the future. 

There have been moments where we have conflict before debut, Nayoon said. 

“We have had multiple friends before we were selected to debut. When we were chosen, along with the other trainees who also partook in the showcase we had. It was extremely hard to leave them behind.” Viva said. 

We recently moved into a dorm together and whilst I was working in the practice room, I had no space to practice so I had to use a full-length mirror, lying down on the floor. 

“It was a bit hard to see my friends who had debuted, I used to train with Laboum, MOMOLAND’s Nancy and SONAMOO’s Nahyun.” Haeun spoke of her past experience. 

The name “Good Day” is the name that represents everyone from different generations that would like to listen to their music. 

“We have three units, Good Morning, Good Night and Midnight,” Heejin explained, “From morning until evening we want to give those who are listening to good energy to have a Good Day.”

On the “ALL DAY, GOOD DAY album, there will be four tracks. The title song “Rolly” is a dance song that was composed by Jung Jaeyeop, who worked with the production team Avenger Seung. It is predicted that all generations will be able to listen to the song by adding retro sensibility to the trendy sound. 

Bae Jinyoung spent most of his childhood as a trainee, was the male lead in the “Rolly” music video and has been supporting Good Day.

“He joined the company later than us but we never had the senior-younger relationship, but when Produce 101 Season 2 happened, the roles changed. As a trainee before, I wasn’t surprised, but it happened. It had been a while since we had seen him, we met whilst filming the music video after WANNA ONE made their debut. It’s good to see him doing well within the group.” 

Heejin added, “Within the company, I took lessons where male and female trainees practised together, even if we were practising in the same place, most of us practised alone but we did practice the same form of greeting and practising.” 

Cherry “We were a little shy when it came to filming with Jinyoung at the filming set early August since it had been a long time since we had seen each other since he debuted in WANNA ONE.”

Viva “I had a close friendship with him (Jinyoung) but when we saw each other, it was kind of awkward.”

Whilst watching Produce 101: Season 2, we were rooting for him who was selected into the top 11, WANNAONE project group meaning he will be active until December 2018. 

Viva replied “We also watched the broadcast and picked him as our first pick for the program. I was shocked when I heard he had gotten F. I was a little upset when I heard. I believe it was a good motivation for him.” 

Genie said “I was extremely excited to see a friend who came out on the program and came to the practice room after the filming that took place. I wanted to quickly go on stage. I got good motivation from seeing him.” 

What are your goals as Good Day, what do you want in the future? 

Cherry said, “We want to appeal to the public by giving them chills when they see, listen to our music and see our stages also.”

Viva said,”We can say that we’re full of energy but other groups are likely to say the same. We want to make a good word for ourselves.”

Haeum said, “When talking about our concept, I believe that it’s better to work harder so it’s easy to explain everything later on.” 

Jiwon mentioned, “Our goal is to make it into the top 70 on the music chart (mostly likely talking about Melon, Genie etc). If we achieve that, we promise to be a barista for a day in return for our fans. Our second goal is to get the Rookie of the Year award that we can only receive once.”

Haeun said “Our other goal is for “Rolly” to get banned on the CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test, what she means is that she want it to become an addiction just like Shinee’s Ring Ding Dong was banned because it was too addictive and students were unable to get it out of their heads)
