"All children are charming as an adjective, but you’re charming as a verb." - Ben Philippe, Charming as a Verb •———————————————————————• If anything at least 2020 has been a year for gorgeous book covers! I absolutely loved @benphilippe’s Field Guide to the North American Teenager so buying his sophomore novel was automatic and then it ends up looking like this 😍😍😍 I cant wait to read it, after I finish all the half finished books I have lying around 🙈 2020 has been a tough year for my attention span.. •———————————————————————• I would highly recommend purchasing this book from a Black owned bookstore. The story takes place in NYC so why not @thelitbar -Black female owned indi bookstore with a bar AND sliding ladders = heaven. It looks like a really chill place to hang out. They also have a online shop for those of us outside NYC 💙 •———————————————————————• #charmingasaverb #benphilippe #bookspine #bookshelf #bookshelves #cozybookstagram #cozybooks #newrelease #bookobsessed #bibliophilelife #bibliophile #booklove #coverlove #booklover #booksbooksbooks #bookphotography #bookish #bookishlove #bookishcommunity https://www.instagram.com/p/CHqZ2q7gyhT/?igshid=qfamu3ugkdb2

All children are charming as an adjective, but you're charming as a verb. 🦄🦄🦄 Blurb in the comments! 🦄🦄🦄 Charming As A Verb is a rom com by Ben Philippe which was SO cute and I was 'Aww-ing' (is that a word? No? Moving on!) u til the main character had to go and F it up SO BAD it had me banging my head against the wall, and not it a good way. The story focuses on a lot of real life issues from stress for college, to worrying about family finances and even has (what I would consider) a believable ending rather than the 'Happy Ever After' most books have. I liked Henri for most of the book, after what happens in the end i just wanted him to say bye because if someone did what he did to me, I would show them the door. (Yeah, I know, forgiveness, blah blah, but some things are hard to forgive when it comes to trust. Can I just say, I may not be as smart as Corinne, but I'd love to have her truthful sass anyday or I'd just have her as a BFF. I was disappointed that Corinne's POV wasn't written because I would have LOVED to know what was going on in her mind when everything was happening, especially in the beginning given her social skills. Overall, loved the book! It's a quick read but talks a lot about heavy topics that are addressed in such a way that it's not forced upon you, but it lingers in your mind. 🦄🦄🦄 Rated 9/10 Melina L. #Bookstagramfeature #LibraryofBookstagram #bookstagram #bookreviewer #bookhaul #bookreviewerswanted #goodreads #bookishlove #thebookieclub #bookstagrammer #bookquote #bookreview #authorsofinstagram #authorsofig #bookworm #readeveryday #readersofig #authors #author #authorsofinsta #newbookalert #readersofinstagram #mybookfeatures #charmingasaverb #romcom #BenPhilippe #bookstoread #romcomnovel #romcomauthor #romancenovel https://www.instagram.com/p/CLJLzMNAd_n/?igshid=1wv6jllg42iz3

I'm highlighting some recently released books today on this rainy Friday. Epic Reads is proud of their recent books published celebrating Black! Boy! Joy! and they want to share them with you. Here are three books that are giving us cause to celebrate during this joyfilled campaign: 🙆🏿‍♂️ Early Departures by Justin A. Reynolds 🙆🏿‍♂️ Charming as a Verb by Ben Phillipe 🙆🏿‍♂️ Not so Pure and Simple by Lamar Giles I'm excited to read all of them and share them with others. Black males are portrayed in negative ways in media and it is crucial for us to break the stereotypes and spread stories that show black males in all their glory. Young, black boys need to be able to see themselves represented doing ordinary things and navigating life and finding love their own sense of happiness in the process. If these aren't on your radar, be sure to pick them up sooner rather than later. For more information please visit the landing page so you can learn more about these wonderful books and their fantastic authors. Here is the https://go.epicreads.com/blackboyjoy/. You can also find in it through my bio page. QOTD: What are some other Black! Boy!
