The mummy wrappings MAKE A RIBBON IN HER HAIR!!
I didn't even realize that!!!
Something I find very interesting about Madoka Magica is that Sayaka was the only magical girl in the main cast without a ribbon. Madoka has ribbons in her hair, Homura inherited said ribbbons after Madoka became a goddess, Mami has yellow ribbon weapons that tie up her enemies before her Tiro Finale and special red ones with a lock that she used on Homura, Kyoko has a tiny ribbon that carried the symbol of her father's church and she unties the ribbon to grasp the symbol in her hand in her final moments. Sayaka had none of these things in the main series or Rebellion.
But now, in Walpurgisnacht Rising, she (arguably) is covered in ribbons, wrapped up like a mummy, only one eye peaks through.
Why is that? Was it to resurrect any semblance of the magical girl Sayaka Miki after Homura made her forget all about magical girls in Rebellion? Is mummy Sayaka even real, or was she concocted by Homura for this new "dream"?
We're going to have to wait to find out, aren't we?
