I made one for Charlotte, so now I'm following in the footsteps of @keithsandwich and @bicayaya and made one for Chevalier. If you'd like to check out Charlotte's modern AU Insta page, you can see it HERE. In this modern AU, Chevalier is a musician and Charlotte is a photographer. They met at a photoshoot, and well...I'll write more of their backstory another day.

As I did with Charlotte's, there's more info/descriptions of photos under the cut. Please note that half these pictures are taken by Charlotte as Chevalier is a novice photographer and quite clumsy with a camera.

First pic - Lovely bookstore, I could have spent all day in there. We were running late for dinner, and Char was not thrilled that she had to drag me out of there. Will go back soon.

Second pic - Why is she always taking pictures of me? I had the last laugh as I got her back this time.

Third pic - She has a thing for my hands. Always holding them. Drawing them. Taking pictures of them. Must be an art thing.

Fourth pic - Char loves this clock. She loves to watch the animals go around and makes me stop to watch them. I think it's a bit ridiculous, but if it makes her happy...

Fifth pic - a favorite passage

Sixth pic - Char made me pose for this ridiculous photo. Threatened to throw my book in the ocean if I didn't. So I had no choice.

Seventh pic - Later that day, got her back by taking this picture of her. She doesn't particularly like posing for photos.

The complete lack of a black protagonist in Life is Strange is disappointing

We've got 5 games and not a single game has gotten a single black protagonist.

I do love the series, but even I can see  a problem. A complete lack of black characters in the franchise.

None of the main characters are black. None of the secondary characters are black and the only black characters they have are side characters or background characters.

Like there was no reason whatsoever why Rachel, Warren, Kate, Steph, Ryan, Cassidy, Finn, Jacob, Sarah Lee or Chris couldn't have been black. Hell, there is no reason why Max, Chloe or Rachel couldn’t have been black.(although personally I would've loved it if Rachel was Indigenous)

And the black characters we do have is really bad in terms of representation.

Wells, a drunk and crooked  principal.

Hayden, a stoner and member of the Vortex Club

Drew North, a bully jock who got in the drug trade

Charlotte, a likable character, but who's anger is consuming her and blaming others around her, tho I understand where she is coming from, but her characterization tends to be reminiscent of the unfortunate angry black woman stereotype. And just so happens to own a pot shop...

Ms Grant, Mikey, Penny, and Joey the Nurse seem to be the only positive black characters in the series.

And we still have not gotten a single black protagonist in the franchise.

I find it weird that we seemingly have little good black representation that isn't just associated with drugs.

Like I’m not trying to say DONTNOD, D9 or Square Enix are racist or anything, but I’m saying they need to do better when it comes to representation. 

We were robbed of a black main character for Life Is Strange and are instead getting a cash grab sequel with Max who might as well be a completely new character seeing as how they’re throwing away everything that Max experienced and learned and everything we loved from LIS 1 to make it.

But considering how the fandom treated Sean and Daniel and their story, I can only imagine the disgusting hate a black protagonist would get in an extremely white franchise.

This headpiece was first seen on Adjoa Andoh as Lady Agatha Danbury in the 2020 first episode of the first season of Bridgerton. It was used again with further embellishments on Michelle Fairley as Augusta, Dowager Princess of Wales in the third episode of the first season of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

Decided to join in on the fun of this Instagram trend for the Modern!AU OCverse- thanks to @keithsandwich and @bicayaya for creating this idea and template. I don't share much about my ikepri oc, but I'd like to start now (did you even know that i had an ikepri oc? you do now.)

Meet Charlotte, my ikepri oc. She is paired with Chevalier (what a surprise). She exists both in the game timeline as well as this modern au (but this post is just about the modern au).

Bit of background on this modern au under the cut as well as descriptions of each photo in her instagram.

Chevalier is a musician (yes, like in those ridiculous all for love/fight for love art where they all look like in a band or some shit). Charlotte is a photographer. They met on a photoshoot, and the romance didn't take long to blossom. They're not married, but when he saw her Instagram with her last name on it, he changed it. He didn't like seeing her name without his. She travels with him as often as she can when he's on tour. Back home, they share a (modest) apartment with their pet cat, Chloe.

First pic - since they're often separated, Chevalier will leave Charlotte a short handwritten note with a single rose when he can't say goodbye to her.

Second pic - their bedroom. Those are all his books. They both hate mornings and love sleeping in.

Third pic - he plays the piano (beautifully) and is teaching her how to play.

Fourth pic - Charlotte loves ballet. If she wasn't a photographer, she might have been a dancer. Dancing is her favorite exercise and still takes classes.

Fifth pic - a favorite quote of Chevalier's.

Sixth pic - on their first Christmas together, he gifted her these pearls. They belonged to his deceased mother and are a family heirloom.

Seventh pic - when Chevalier met Charlotte, she had a kitten named Chloe. When Charlotte moved in, so did Chloe. Chevalier pretends to be indifferent around Chloe, but when Charlotte's not around, Chevalier is often found reading with the cat in his lap.

Eight pic - a favorite couple activity is reading books when it's raining outside. There's just something about the smell of books and the sound of rain.

Ninth pic - Chevalier doesn't like many sweets, but he has a thing for beignets. Especially when she makes them. This was a new recipe she tried; it was a big hit.
