ECU High - Vince's Attitude

A Lincoln Town Car drives up to ECU High's front door.

"Jeeves stop here. I wanna get out now." Vince orders.

"Yes, Master Everett," his chauffeur says as he stops.

Vince gets out of the car with his Ralph Lauren backpack wearing high end clothes.

"You better be back at 3:15 or else." he says as he closes the door.

Jeeves drives away as Vince walks into the school.

"What's up poors!" Vince yells as a flex.

"Ah shut up, Vince!" some of the boys yell as he walks by.

"And a good morning to you too Charlie, Steve and Walter. I know you're all so jealous but oh well. We can't all appear on MTV and land a huge recording contract." Vince starts to laugh and walks away.

Walter has to hold Charlie and Steve back. "He ain't worth it. If there's any justice in this world, he'll get his one day."

Vince keeps laughing as he walks to his locker.

"Vince you really need to end this state of hubris and narcissism."

Vince rolls his eyes as he opens his locker. "Ah what do you know Scotty boy. You ain't got much room to talk with that silver spoon shoved in your mouth. Beat it."

Scott just sighs and walks away. Vince turns to his left.

"What ya got something to say to me Chad?"

Chad just chuckles. "You know, Vince. I never thought you'd be the kinda kid who becomes a complete ass just because he made a million bucks. Didn't anybody tell ya to be nice to the people on the way up? If they did then you'd know that you're only gonna run into them on the way down. Keep it up and -"

"Ah shut up!" Vince interrupts.

Chad just shrugs as if to say "Can't say I didn't warn you." and walks away.

Vince groans in annoyance as he grabs his books to put away. He looks at his schedule and finds that he has American Literature as his first class. When he walks into the classroom he immediately gets annoyed.

A teacher is talking with her student about a project. "What did you want me to help you with, Johnny?"

"Ms. Xana, Ah'm tryna write a story about a man who performs on riverboats in the 1860s. Where should Ah look?" he asks sitting at a desk.

She thinks as she goes through some books at her desk. "I think I have just the book for you, Johnny."

She pulls out "Life on the Mississippi" and hands it to him. "This is a memoir by Mark Twain. He used to work as a steamboat pilot before the Civil War. This should help you get started with your research."

Johnny takes the book smiling as Vince rolls his eyes. "Are ya done with the theatrics Johnny? Nobody reads your damn plays."

Ms. Xana gasps. "Vince watch your language. I won't have that type of talk in my classroom."

Vince scoffs as he sits down and waits for the bell to ring so class can start. His mind starts to wander and thoughts become sour.

"Why'd my stupid parents decide to keep me enrolled at this stupid school with these stupid kids and naggy ass teachers? I'd rather go to a private school or drop out all together."

Some character deaths hit me harder then any other death. Some characters deaths are so hard its like loosing an actual family member or your beloved pets. Some character deaths make you have to take a break from the series because the show isnt the same, and you dont understand why every other episode in the series they are not grieving this character because this character was perfect in every way. There are so many characters i have fallen so hard in love, some not even in a romantic way. So there death felt like i was loosing a whole piece of me. I miss them every day, yet there not even real. The actors or book pages still exist but those characters will never be on screen or page again unless in a flashback or memory. And it hurts.

Another month, another wrap up!

I got a lot of reading done in the first two weeks in the month as I had to take some time off from Uni for mental health reasons. It was a rough time, and the only things I could bring myself to do was read and blog. I felt bad not doing Uni work, but if I hadn’t taken that time, I would have pushed myself too far and been even worse than I already was.

  READING WRAP UP

  The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare [3.75 stars; Tessa Dare’s Girl Meets Duke series is by far my favourite of hers, really enjoyed this first book! Such quick reads]

The Governess Game by Tessa Dare [3.25 stars; not as good as The Duchess Deal, but still enjoyed it for the astronomy elements and the banter!]

A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay [4 stars; this was scary at the start and just grew more and more sad as we got closer to the end and realised what was, realistically, happening]

A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro [5 stars; Charlotte Holmes is my girlfriend and this is my new favourite series]

    Oroonoko by Aphra Behn [1 star; not good, my university is ruining me with our reading]

Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: The Novelization by A.C.H Smith [2.5 stars; it was okay, but not amazing; if you’re as familiar with the film as me, you could probably skip this]

Fence #12 by C.S. Pacat [3 stars; not the best finale, but I was super happy with the conclusion, and I love this cast. It feels like the art has grown progressively more jokey and juvenile as the series has gone on, which annoys me]

Heartstopper Volume 1 by Alice Oseman [5 stars, I would die for Charlie Spring to be happy]

    Say Yes to the Marquess by Tessa Dare [3 stars; not my favourite Tessa Dare, although I did still enjoy the romance and the boxing/bulldog elements]

Lazaretto by Clay McLeod Chapman [4.5 stars; a truly horrifying comic about a flesh eating virus that breaks out on a college campus during the first week of school, not for the faint of heart. I genuinely wanted to throw up after finishing, but I loved it?]

WASHINGTON Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez announced the complete list of people on the 21-member Unity Reform Commission on Monday.

The panel was created at the partys national convention in July as a last-minute compromise between supporters of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and those of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who were demanding the elimination of super-delegates from presidential primaries.

The commission will now begin the process of discussing reforms to the partys presidential nominating process, including hot-button issues like the role of super-delegates and caucuses. It will present its recommendations to the DNC by January 2018.

At the 2016 convention, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and national delegates agreed that in order to capture the energy of Democrats from across the country it is critical that we enhance the nominating process that continues to embrace the big tent of our party, Perez said in a statement. This includes everyone, from lifelong Democrats to 18-year-olds who cast their first ballot in 2016.

A Democratic Party that gives every Democrat a voice in the process will make enormous gains from the school board to the Senate this cycle and it will take back the White House in 2020, he continued. We already see this incredible energy in a number of highly competitive races across the country.

The 21-member commission includes nine members selected by Clinton, seven members picked by Sanders, three picked by Perez, and the chair and vice chair selected by Clinton and Sanders, respectively.

Aside from Chair Jen OMalley Dillon, a Clinton pick, the breakdown of themembers selected by Perez and Clinton is not public.

Sanders had also already named his selections to the commission. They are Cohen, the vice chair; former Ohio state Sen.Nina Turner; former Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver; former Sanders New York delegate Nomiki Konst; Jim Zogby, founder of the Arab-American Institute; former Berkeley, California Mayor Gus Newport; former Nevada Assemblywoman Lucy Flores; and Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb.

Members of the Democratic Partys progressive wing, particularly those who backed Sanders insurgent candidacy, eagerly await the commissions deliberations.

Many Sanders partisans accuse the DNC of skewing the presidential nomination process against Sanders and other outsiders. Super-delegates, or party insiders and elected officials free to support a primary candidate regardless of whom their states voters backed, are a particular sticking point. Hundreds of super-delegates endorsed Clinton before Sanders even entered the race.

Other issues include a primary schedule that critics charge with favoring well-funded candidates, the timing of primary debates, and the ability of independents to vote in states where primaries and caucuses are currently closed to them.

One area of compromise might be the role of caucuses, the in-person meetings that some states use to elect their nominees. The gatherings often take hours and disproportionately attract party activists, which has elicited criticism that they are less democratic. Sanders nonetheless turned in some of his strongest performances in caucus states.

Once the commission makes its recommendations for reform, it will be up to the DNC to adopt the commissions recommendations.

While he was campaigning for DNC chair, Perez acknowledged the legitimate grievances of the Sanders faction at one point going so far as to imply the primary was rigged, before walking it back under pressure.

He has had some rhetorical commitment to trying to bring the progressive wing of the party into the fold, said Rhode Island state Rep. Aaron Regunberg, a Sanders supporter who was on the Democratic National Convention Rules and Bylaws Committee. I see this as a good test of whether thats real rhetoric or not.

A lot of people are watching to see if there is a genuine commitment to embrace the energy that has come from the progressive side of the party and step away from plutocracy. I dont have a crystal ball, but I gotta hope that we will. If we dont, I dont see us making the other changes that we need to win in 18 and 2020.

Regunberg and other progressive reformers who wanted the Rules and Bylaws Committee to abolish super-delegates outright this past July are mostly taking a wait-and-see approach now that the commission is in place.

We have a real opportunity to present a dynamic shift in the party and Im hoping that all the DNC Unity Commission members are on the same page about needing these real changes, said Nomiki Konst, a Sanders appointee to the Unity Reform Commission. We should take our job very seriously.

Brian Ertz, an Idaho environmental lawyer and Sanders appointee to the convention Rules and Bylaws Committee expressed skepticism.

Ertz voted against the compromise that created the Unity Reform Commission on the grounds that these commissions are where reform goes to die.

The question is whether the DNC will adopt reforms that necessarily diminish and dilute the power of individual members. And I just dont see that happening. Im hoping Ill be wrong, but Im not counting on it, Ertz said,referring to the fact that all voting DNC members are super-delegates, among other potential conflicts of interest.

The commissions first meeting will take place in Washington, D.C., on May 5-6. All of its meetings will be public.
