Fantastic capture of this incredibly immersive and beautiful production. there is a bar in the bottom right corner of the screen that doesn't take away except for one moment where Gandalf and Frodo are talking on the stairs in act one, but overall I worked around it and you can always see Frodo and sometimes Gandalf. At points people are in the audience and I wasn't able to capture them but you can always hear them and I do my best to always try to make sure to capture anything in the audience that I could. Some washout and shakiness throughout.

Marcel spends half of his time traveling with Rebekah and half of his time back in New Orleans. He’s finally at a place where he can trust his city in the hands of others.

Marcel has been helping newly turned vampires learn to control their hunger. On his travels he looks into strange “animal attacks” and hunts down the vampire responsible, doing his best to help them.

Hunters aren’t just about protecting the common folk and hunting the things that go bump in the night. Some of them like good food too! At least, that was the case for Devon’s mother. She was never the type of woman to do things needlessly so when her sister had a wedding near a supposed haunting, she decided to kill two birds with one stone. It was at her sister’s wedding reception that she met Devon’s father, the chef responsible for the delicious catered food. They hit it off well despite the fact that she told him she was a pharmaceutical rep, but her lie worked out in her favor. Devon’s father didn’t care for the fascinating world of sales or for much big pharma. He just liked feeding her with his love and his food.

Years after their meeting and after Mr. Wilder became the executive chef at a high end restaurant, they finally had Devon. The boy was raised eating fine food and an almost absent mother. With how much his mother worked and hunted, it was hard for him to develop a close relationship with her, but he didn’t seem to notice too because he was occupied with earning his father’s craft. His father taught him how to cook because he said one day he too would make the girl of his dreams happy in heart and in stomach. Also, as a young boy, he told himself that if he got good enough then maybe his mom would stop by long enough to try what he made.

It wasn’t until his father was injured one night before driving home from work that his mother showed up and stayed for more than a month. The story went that a rabid dog had bit him while he was throwing out trash. This was the first time that he ever saw his mother be worried for someone. His mother nursed his father back to health and even though he barely knew who she was, he could tell that something had changed in them when his father got better. A couple days before a full moon, his father and mother started to argue. Devon had been in his room when he heard the fight turn violent. He heard his father’s yell and a thump. Too afraid to leave his sanctuary, he cracked open the door slightly and listened intently. Very quietly, he could hear his mother’s labored breaths.

After that night, Devon refused to leave his room, but without any words, his mother would leave him food at his door. The food was garbage so he knew that his father hadn’t cooked it, but he didn’t say anything because he was scared. Then the full moon finally came and his mother opened his door without asking. She wasn’t ever much of a talker, but in a stern tone she told him to get out of bed and follow. She was going to take him to his father. Just when it got dark enough, she drove them to the middle of the desert and stopped when they got to a rock formation.

Inside the formation, his father was chained up like an animal. Although he yelled and tried to fight his mother, she wouldn’t let him near. Once moonlight hit his father’s skin, he began to shift and transform. His mother pushed him away and without a second thought, she planted a bullet laced with wolfsbane in between his eyes. And it was this moment that became his first couple lesson about the supernatural: anyone could turn into a monster and monsters needed to be put down quickly.

After his father’s death, his mother trained him for years to become a professional hunter, but eventually, she ran out of lessons and grew tired of bonding with him so they split ways. He doesn’t know where she is. However, that won’t stop him from following his dreams. Even though his father’s shift had scarred him, he still had a love for cooking, but after learning so much from his mother, he couldn’t ignore his new calling as a hunter. So he came up with a wonderful solution and that was to open his own food truck! That way he’d get to cook for others  to make them feel good and also go to wherever he needed to in order to make their environments better as a hunter. Devon sees what he is doing as killing two birds with one stone.

Devon’s rather optimistic for a guy who still has nightmares of his father’s demise. He sees himself as quite the hero and the protagonist in all that he does. Sometimes his ego, pride, and all around big-headedness gets in the way of any constructive criticism which usually leads him to some kind of failure, but Devon doesn’t like to dwell on negativity all that much. Even though he has his faults, his heart is the right place and he honestly wants to do some good for the world. As a hunter, others can expect him to be a dependable kind of guy who won’t give up even if the going gets tough. Through his eyes, he is the good guy and the monsters are still bad even if they pretend to be human.

VALEN MADDOX, They’re allies since they’re both hunters, but he thinks that she’s inexperienced and naive. He feels that she puts up a tough act that doesn’t really work and honestly, Devon could do without her attitude. 

EDGAR LUKASSON, Devon sees this guy’s mug so often at the food truck that he’s thinking of making a New Orleans special for him. He likes having a dependable customer and even if Edgar doesn’t speak much, Devon doesn’t care so long as the food’s good.

JASMINE HAROLDS, There’s a new barber at his favourite barbershop and to his surprise it was a woman, but her skills are off the charts. Every time he goes in for a cut, he leaves satisfied and feeling good, especially since he gets to see her. If he had more hair he’d come in more often, but he’s been told that bald isn’t a good look for him. So Devon has to think of a different reason to talk to her so that one day he can take her out to some place special.

Meet Derek Thayer, a thirty year old witch with the ability to see the future. He is an Elderand a Librarian. He is portrayed by Charles Michael Davis and his role is open.

╰ ✧ IS THERE A WAY OUT?

(tw; depression) Four years ago Derek Thayer was watching innocent people die. Which, for him, wasn’t new. He’d watched his own parents die just seconds before it actually happened. And over the course of his life he’d had visions of countless deaths. Unlike some familiars, Derek’s visions seemed to only focus on when something terrible was going to happen. But it was never worse than when hunters started attacking The Coven. He was helpless to stop them, his visions never giving him any information that could help stop the killers. The visions always came too late for anyone to stop them from happening, and it nearly led to Derek spiraling out of control. There were days when he couldn’t even get out of bed, couldn’t move, didn’t even want to. But when those hunting the hunters came to him for help, he found the will to pull himself from his helplessness.

╰ ✧ IS THERE A WAY OUT?

Derek was able to help the team significantly. He was able to piece together the flashes of the killers he saw in his visions, and give them a good description of people to look for. And eventually the hunters were stopped. People stopped dying every day, and Derek was able to relax. For three years that’s all he did. He took a break from The Coven, leaving the grounds for the first time since he came to go travel the world. The break helped clear his head, and he was even able to get help for his depression and anxiety. And after a long time of trying to heal himself and learn a better sense of control over his visions, Derek was finally able to control them. Now he’s able to touch someone or something and see a vision from it, to call visions to him, and to focus more while having a vision. Now his powers are more of the gift that Willow Nevian promised him they were when he was a child. Now, as an Elder, he is able to help people. He can actually stop his visions from happening, and he’s never felt better.

╰ ✧ CONNECTIONS:

Lux McCoy — Lux was just an acquaintance of his before the hunters. Just someone he saw often in the library and spoke to occasionally. Until one day he had a vision of her death. Hers was the first death that Derek ever stopped. He won’t ever tell her, but geting her away from Avery Hughes saved her life. And he’s happy now to call Lux a friend.

Tamara Ivy — Tamara was always nice to him, always willing to brew him a potion whenever he needed it. She saw how much pain he was in and how much he needed someone from a mile away, and even today she makes it a point to let him know how much she cares. And he can’t really ever tell her just how much that means to him.

Asami Hirata — Asami sometimes comes to Derek for advice. Which, if he’s honest, confuses him to no end. Why him? What could he possibly help her with? Girls? Issues as an Elder? How could he help with that? Even if he’s confused as to why she actually chooses to come to him, he doesn’t turn her away. He’ll try to help as best he can, even if it’s not much.
