Alexandria tilts her head back to Kass with a slight smile. "I hope you don't mean Frank, I doubt he'd harm a fly even if he could." She nodded in understanding, it was similar to Fortier house growing up. Though likely for different reasons. If she was honest she wasn't sure she entirely trusted Xavier with a fluffy pet running around. "We didn't either, aside from horses."
Her head lifted spotting all the cats lined along the walls and couldn't help but smile. As much as she adored Frank, they were cute too. Cats had a sort of indifference to them that resonated with her. "They are quite the characters, it looks like there's even personality descriptions. Does that say 'most likely planning world domination'?"
"Cold blooded reptiles scare me a little, if I'm being honest. Fluffy pets aren't for everyone, but I think they're still fun to be around once in a while," she commented. "I don't. I actually never grew up with pets. My family was unable to really dedicate the time for one." At a young age, Kassandra had quickly become a caretaker for her family.
As they walked in, they signed some forms, received a brief warning and rundown of the way the cafe operates, and ordered a couple of drinks. "Oh, there's a roster of the cats and all of their pictures on that wall. They're so cute."

🐢 Alex (had to cause Frank)
Alexandria - Mental Health Headcanon
It’s no shock that her childhood had an effect on her. While she’s never been diagnosed, she’s experienced more than a fair share of anxiety attacks. Stressful situations, like finishing an important project or being blackmailed have been known to trigger an attack, leaving her searching for control. Her most common coping mechanism is martial arts and commonly a session at the gym or in an underground fight can help her calm, the discipline forcing her to focus on her breathing and her body. However on occasion, she has lost control and in the ring that has only lead to injury.

FULL NAME: Alexandria Fortier.
GENDER & PRONOUNS: Cis Female & She/Her.
DATE OF BIRTH & AGE: April 28th, 1988 (32).
ZODIAC SIGN: Taurus.
HOMETOWN: Avignon, France.
CURRENT LOCATION: Amory Village.
OCCUPATION: Owner of Heira Tech.
HOW LONG THEY HAVE BEEN IN AMORY? Newcomer — 5 months.
FACECLAIM: Li Jun Li.
II. BIOGRAPHY.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Child Abuse, alcohol, drugs, injury.
The Fortier family always looked like a dream, the perfect family. Xavier Fortier was charming, a pillar of the community. His family’s wine business had been successful for generations, affording his family all the luxuries in life. Daiyu was ever the beautiful doting wife and mother, her smile lighting up a room. Their children, Alexandria and Edgar, fit right into the picture. However perfect was never quite how it seemed. Behind his charming exterior Xavier was cruel with a violent temper often turned on his wife and children leaving them walking on eggshells around him, or in some cases literal glass. Daiyu checked out, lost in whatever pills she could get prescribed just to hide from what her world had become.
Alexandria learned her place quickly, often quiet and reserved. She played the part well, and as the front doors closed she often disappeared into her room to lose herself in books or later, lines of code, those lines of numbers and letters that made up the beautiful app or webpage that everyone could see. It seemed that Edgar and code were the only real things in her life. Born just a year apart, the siblings were close, they looked out for each other. Though she was older, Edgar often protected her most commonly from their father’s wrath and she would tend to his wounds, often settled in his room making up stories of far away worlds they wished they could escape to.
Alex knew there was no real escape, instead she did what she could to be the best daughter hoping to quell her father’s open disdain for her and make their lives a bit more bearable. A talented equestrian, her trophies lined the walls for public view but it was only met with contempt. Her eyes shifted toward the business hoping that if she’d found her place there, maybe taking the stress from her father would lighten his grip on the bottle. She took her time, learning the business from top to bottom, developing friendships with the employees and had even created a plan to combine her love for programming with the family business and bring it forward into the digital age. However her pitch was ruined as her father entered sloshed on the latest bottle the company had put out. His cruel laughed echoed in the room, “You’ll never be apart of this business. You’re not my daughter. You’re mother was a slut and conned me into marriage. The only reason I didn’t force her to drop you off at the nearest orphanage is because she promised me a son.”
Alex never knew if his words were true or just the ravings of a mean drunk. She never could catch her mother in a sober enough moment to confirm. As deep as the words cut, she couldn’t seem to pull herself from the role she’d always played. Her brother had always been the braver of the two and he had gotten out and she’d found herself following him to New York, gaining much needed distance from the media that demanded the fake smiles of the perfect Fortier family. Web development was the new craze and it wasn’t long before she built up a reputation of her own landing her a top spot in the IT department of Elite. But still she felt like she lacked control, she still felt the weight of being the perfect daughter suffocating her.
While her work life was thriving, Alexandria had always felt like something was missing at least until she discovered the world of underground fighting. She and Edgar had been training to fight since their early teens, hoping to protect themselves from Xavier’s rage. Somehow she found herself in those matches. With each fight, whether win or loss, she gained a piece of control over her world. The irony that the bruises on her skin were of her own choice and no longer her father’s doing gave her a strange confidence and maybe someday she’d be bold enough to rid herself of the Fortier grasp completely.
III. PERSONALITY TRAITS.
POSITIVE TRAITS: Inventive, compassionate, reserved, reliable.
NEGATIVE TRAITS: Secretive, escapist, perfectionist, detached.

ALEXANDRIA FORTIER ( Li Jun Li ) is requesting their INTERNET FRIEND/BLACKMAILER ( fc UTP ). they are UTP years old. DAVINNA must be contacted HERE.
Background information →
Alex has trouble letting down her walls with people as she spent much of her childhood building them up. However she found the anonymity of online conversations with people easier. There was one such individual that she started talking to while she was in college. Throughout their conversations she found herself opening up more and more, even revealing bits about her past, ie her abusive father, Xavier and the fact that she is not his daughter. Until one day she got received an anonymous letter in the mail, with screenshots of their chats and a demand that if she didn’t pay the person would release it to the press or post it online causing bad press for both her family and Fortier wines. She caught off all ties with her friend and any chat services she had being sure to scrub her online existence and she followed the instructions to pay the blackmail demand.
This connection can work has two different characters: One being the friend, who was hacked (whether they know they were or not) and has no idea why Alex suddenly cut ties with them and then also the enemy, the person who used and may continue to use the information to get money out of Alex. Or it can work as one character in that the friend found out who she really was and for whatever reason decided to blackmail her. (ie desperate need of money, desire to take down Xavier or the Fortiers..ect..)

" penny for your thoughts. "
Edgar and Alex - " penny for your thoughts. "
Alexandria hadn’t even realized she had drifted off until Edgar’s voice had filled the room. Her head lifted up to see him, before dropping briefly to the sleeping Amelie cuddled into her side, worn out from her day with her aunt. Stroking the child’s hair gently her eyes lifted back to Edgar. “Are you sure you want to pay that much?”
She winks to him, sisterly playful but her face turned serious as she pondered taking his deal. Swallowing faintly she smiled softly. “I was just thinking about how far we’ve come, or how far you’ve come. Married and in love, with a precious child. It’s incredible.” Her eyes drift down to Amelie as she adjusts in her snuggle and she waits for her to settle back in before continuing. “You know when was born, I was panicking. I wanted so much to be apart of her life, but a baby. Isabella I could handle, by the time she came into my life she was old enough to throw a punch or ride a horse. But a baby...”
”All it took was one look. She’s got those Baby Yang eyes and I was gone. I knew I’d do anything to protect her. Be the best aunt I could be.” She smiles a little sadly. “And I love our days together, but lately I feel sad when she leaves. It feels quiet and empty, no offence to Frank. I don’t know if it even feels like a home.”
She looked up to him sheepishly, “I think..no not think I do, I want a baby, a child. Someone to care for, to teach, to love. Maybe its crazy, thinking about being in a long term relationship still gives me cold sweats but I could do this. I could be a mom, I could have a child, or adopt. Give them a great life, in a loving home. Don’t you think?.”
She wipes a tear away before it falls and gives him a look. “And don’t you dare tell mother. If she thinks I’m ready to ‘start a family’ she’ll have suiters at my door so fast my head will spin.”

⌛️ Alex
Alexandria - Sleep Headcanon
Alex’s sleep has always been short and light. She often doesn’t sleep much more than 5 hours. When it comes to someone sleeping at her side it takes her time to get comfortable enough with them there to fall asleep. There were rare exceptions. When he was younger, Edgar would often come into her room to sleep, away from the darkness of his room and in the comfort of hers. She got used to having him there, his steady breathing a reminder that he was ok, safe from Xavier if only for a few hours. Sam, ever the cuddler, taught her a love for snuggling. More than a few times, she’d find herself so calm curled up next to him that she couldn’t help but drift off for a little while. Amelie is the final exception to the rule. The child had always been so precious to her and Alex found that her steady breathing as she slept reminded her of young Edgar. That comforting reminder was enough to lull her into a light nap, plus the young child was the best snuggler.

4, 8, 12 Alex
4. Did they have any childhood enemies? Any friends? Enemies that became friends?
Though she did have people she was adversarial with growing up she never cared about them enough to call the enemies. Anyone who talked badly about her brother either earned a punch in the face from her or brother. Coya was probably the friendliest relationship she had and she was friendly with Nick atleast until he bailed out on her brother. Most of her true friends were gained once she was outside of that house and able to be herself outside of the family façade.
8. If they could name the worst moment of their life, what would it be? Did this change them as a person or change how they perceived the world, themselves, and others?
Her worst moment was likely the fight she had following the escalation of her blackmailer. She’s had a lot of bad moments but that one shook her the hardest. She trains to find control over herself and her emotions. In that fight she lost control, it was as though she was no longer fighting her opponent but the blackmailer and she refused to give in, only getting herself hurt. In the days that followed, while she was healing she realized there were some burdens she couldn’t hold on her own. She realized that despite her years learning chess with her mother and how to anticipate the moves of her opponent she’d set that aside so focus on keeping up the façade of a house she no longer lived in. So she reached out, confiding in Edgar and Demir and as they together dealt with the blackmailer, she learned that she had to let go of the urge to be the ‘good daughter’ and live her life outside of that house.
12. Did they face any kind of bullying or abuse growing up?
Xavier was not a kind man. Even with Edgar, his flesh and blood, he set standards one could never meet and was quick to respond when you didn’t. Alex was met with indifference for the most part, and anger for the rest. She wasn’t his child and though she fit the image he wanted to project to the outside world around the house she wasn’t much more than an object, a reminder of his wife’s affair. She existed in the house because he let her, because she played her part.
There were some good times however. Daiyu put them in martial arts, building up their bodies. Taught Edgar meditation and Alex chess, building up their minds. Eventually though both learned not to be so damn afraid of the man.

💔😜🔪 Alex
💔 …someone who broke my muse’s heart.
Alexandria and Ellison met in the early days of college. Both vying for top marks in their class, competition sparked a relationship. They dated all through college, despite her tendency to be more detached he always seemed to understand. He’d been someone to turn to when she realized who her real father was. She trusted him, loved him. They’d even talked about marriage. After college, their relationship took a turn. Opting for a long engagement, their focus became establishing their name in the field. While Ellison joined a company run by a few of his friends from college, Alex had decided to open Heira tech with her roommate Hannah and the pair worked well as her premiere software hit the open market.
As her business grew, things at home with Ellison struggled. Things that she had once brushed off as his competitive nature became a more noticeable issue with her place as a woman in the field. Though he pretended to be happy for her, his responses were often laced with passive aggressiveness as resentment built and when Daiyu suggested a prenup, the fight that ensured brought everything out into the light.. Alex left, leaving him the ring. They were far too young to get married.
Though it hurt, she’d built up dozen excuses why things had turned after college. Stress from work. Her tendency to be detached especially when working. It wasn’t until a year later when the first blackmail demand came in the mail that her heart broke. Even after they separated, she had trusted him. However when she confronted him, he confirmed. He’d been so angry, he’d sold the information to some investigator hoping it would knock her down a peg or two. It only left her questioning the love she’d felt for him, the trust she’d put in him. She found herself distant in her relationships after that, pulling away before things got too serious.
😜 …someone who makes my muse laugh.
When Hannah had forced her to hire an assistant, William stood out among the bunch. He was new to the field but eager to learn, but so were all the other applicants. It was his sarcasm that stood out. Being sardonic is a Fortier Family trait, it spills out of them far too easily, often earning a semi playful glare from Hannah. William however could keep up with her, his response quick and right on point, more than a few times earning a laugh or a smile. Their satirical displays, though meetings and around the workplace keep things light in the company.
🔪 …someone my muse hurt in the past
Coya Vogel was a member of one of the richer families in Avignon and a competitor in the local Equestrian competitions. Despite being adversaries on the field, the pair often trained together. They developed a bit of a friendship over the years, if only just in those few hours at the stables. When they could, they would even meet before, taking their horses on a leisurely stroll in the prairie, a contrast to the rigid sessions of jumps. A break for all of them, time to talk, though Coya usually did most of the talking.
Then one day, after Alex won what would be her last tournament, Coya embraced her in congratulations. Though not a bad move or even uncharacteristic, Alex abruptly pulled back. It wasn’t that she had minded the hug from Coya, but rather the bruised ribs she was diligently hiding, that and the indignation that she received more congratulations and affection from a competitor than her parents. Still the damage was done, a spurn of her friend, in public. In their circles, they had to be quick to save face.
Coya pulled away, though Alex reached out a few times to explain, there was no good explanation she could really give. The pair drifted apart. It wasn’t until years later that they ran into one another on vacation in Peru, that the pair managed to renew their friendship. The situation was long forgotten and they have kept up with eachother’s lives. She was even present for Coya’s wedding to her wife, Lilah.

[ PAW PRINTS ] (for three muses of your choosing)
Muses and their Pets
Alexandria
The Fortiers are known for their cold blooded pets. While Edgar has his boa, Nagini, Alex has her tortoise named Frank. He is very much her spoiled child. He is well fed. Though Alex lives mostly off takeout, Frank gets the freshest of foods, catered to his dietary needs. His terrarium takes up a large area in her home, when he’s not wandering in a designated space and occasionally when his hibernation time needs it, he’ll even take up part of her fridge, where she can control the temperature. He’s is beloved by Amelie, her niece, and is a frequent guest of her tea parties.
Mariana:
Knowing her love for hiking and being in the wilderness, most expect Mari to have a larger dog. However when she went to the local animal shelter she fell in love with this little terrier, Simon. The pupper has a love for laps, settling with her or commonly Iain when he’s reading, as the detective has spoils the little pupper. Simon actually holds his own on a hike but when he’s tired he knows he can get a ride on Mari’s shoulders.
Gray:
Gray has had a lot of pets over the years, most of them fosters from the local shelter. A few have found their forever home in his household though as Cara fell hopelessly in love and he could hardly say no. His longest running and likely favorite is his Arabian, Freedom. When he was working at the local stables he actually helped her mother give birth to the foal, and fell head over heels. He has raised her ever since. No matter what his circumstances, he always made sure he had enough to pay for her stable fees as she’d never be able to stay at his apartment. He was more than proud to introduce her to Cara, who always seems to have sugar cubes and carrots to sneak her when the kid thinks he’s not looking.

OCCUPATION: Boxing Instructor.
HOW LONG THEY HAVE BEEN IN AMORY? Newcomer — 3 months.
FACECLAIM: Lewis Tan.
II. BIOGRAPHY.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Child Abuse, alcohol and drug mention.
Family: Edgar doesn’t know what the word means entirely. Of course, he knows what the dictionary says family is, and what the media says family is, but he doesn’t actually know what a family is supposed to be. He’d always felt as if he was living in a reality tv show – on the outside, everything seemed perfect. The Fortiers had money – the result of a rather successful winery business that had been in the family for generations. The Fortier children had the best of everything – schooling, clothing, material possessions. On the inside, though, family was his own personal hell. His mother often numbed herself with pills and his father… Well, Xavier was the worst kind of monster – the kind of man who abused his wife and children simply because he could. The only bright spot in young Edgar’s life was his sister, but even she didn’t know how much he suffered.
Edgar made sure of that. Life may have been torture for him, but he would be damned if life was anything less than perfect for Alexandria. She was entitled to the picturesque home life that they’d seen on the television and obsessed over and he was determined to do everything in his power to give her that, even if it meant walking through hell.
Edgar Michael Fortier. It was a stately name. One a prince would be proud to bear, but to a young, broken boy, it felt like a burden. Edgar never felt as if he quite belonged. The son of a Chinese mother and Caucasian father, Edgar was made aware of just how different he was from a young age; he wasn’t white enough to have a place among the children of his father’s friends, and he wasn’t connected enough to his Chinese heritage to truly have a place among his mother’s family. He’d almost come to expect the quizzical looks that always accompanied his introductions.
He learned from a young age to breathe through those feelings, to be the stronghold his surname suggested. When the other children hurled ugly words at him, Edgar would simply bury the feelings that those words brought to the surface. Whenever his father flew into his rage and used Edgar as his target, Edgar would grit his teeth and propel his mind to somewhere else. After a while, it became easy to hide behind the mask he’d cultivated – cold, unfeeling, all business; to be the snake, biding his time for the perfect moment to strike.
That moment finally came on Edgar’s eighteenth birthday. His mother had baked a small cake (the first kind thing she’d done for her son in years). At first, it seemed as if the family would get through one event without an incident, but as the night progressed, it became increasingly apparent that Xavier wouldn’t allow his son to be happy. Overflowing with selfish pride, he announced that he’d played a hand in separating his son from the boy he’d fallen in love with. The family, after all, had different plans for Edgar – plans that didn’t involve losing his heart and his good sense to a staff member’s son. Years later, Edgar still cannot say exactly what happened. One moment, he’d been staring his father in the eyes. The next, his hand was wrapped around his father’s throat, pinning the man to a wall.
After his eighteenth birthday, Edgar cut all ties to his father. He changed his surname to his mother’s – Yang – and moved to New York City, an entire ocean away from the family’s legacy. While he still maintained his connections to the winery and its staff, Edgar began to build a life away from the Fortiers. This led him to the private security industry, where he could easily convert the skills he’d learned training since his youth with his sister. It was a career at which he excelled. The clients were annoying and Edgar couldn’t say that the job was fulfilling, but it was easy enough and kept him sharp.
As he got closer to the end of his twenties, Edgar realized that being a bodyguard for hire was not what he planned to do for the rest of his life. He moved to Amory, hoping for a quieter existence – somewhere where he could focus his efforts into building his own private security firm while also learning more about business management in the case that he ever decided to return to France and the family’s wineries.

10., 19. 55., 75. (Alex)
10. What does your OC keep in a special drawer?
Depends on which special drawer. The drawer in her bedside table has a variety of ‘toys’ including handcuffs (Police issue, don’t ask how she got them.) There’s a drawer in her dresser that she had specially made. Inside are several forms of knives (a collection she’s gathered over the years since she started training) and a gun. It is meant for her protection and locked up tight and out of the way of children. The third special drawer is in her office, it holds an album of photos she’s collected over the years of those she cares about. Soft, happy pictures of her mother and them when they were kids, rare as they are. Pictures of her beautiful horse she rode in Tournaments, of her friends, of little Amelie. Despite her often cold exterior she has her sentimental moments.
19. What does your OC think of children- either in general or about having them?
Alex used to be scared of having children but since being around Amelie she’s found herself warming to the idea of being a mom. She imagines giving her child a home full of love and laughter that she and Edgar had lacked growing up. She always struggles with the idea that she’s not good enough and in relationships that leaves her skittish. She’s worried about putting her heart on the line only for it not to be enough in the future. However with a child she’s not so afraid. She knows that no matter what, she will work at being the best mom she can be and she’s got her brother and friends at her back.
55. What are your OC’s thoughts on death?
Though Alex has strayed from the teachings of Buddhism in her life, however the beliefs on death have stuck with her. Buddhist belief that when you die your spirit or energy goes on into the universe, often to be reborn. The idea that her spirit or a part of her will live on in the world is calming, often making death not so scary.
75. What is your OC’s favorite scent?
Alex likes various incense, especially lavender as it tends to have a calming effect. She’ll often burn incense after coming home from a long day at work.
