Daughter of Daeron:
Bryden, to Aegor: I told all the crows about what you did btw. Good luck next time you’re in the forrest
Naerys: Bryden, can't you threaten people in a normal way?
Naerys finds it funny but they’re so unspecific they feel weak. Whatever happened to the classics.
Naerys: I will scoop out your eyes with a dull silver spoon and feed them to my dogs.
Traitor: really how likely.
Naerys, pulling out a dull silver spoon: incredibly.

Do you think, Aegon ii and Daemon blackfyre share alot of similarities? Weren't they both not interested in ruling until they've been manipulated by those around them so they can use these two as political tools? All of their children died in the war ?
Aegon II actually very much wanted to rule: Post #1, #2 and his switch up from THIS to THIS. Basically, I do not think Aegon II totally a victim of Criston’s persuasions. He wasn't much manipulated, he definitely wanted that throne as well, so that’s a bit grey there...if we believe Septon Eustace, who Gyldayn says “insists” this to be true. My own doubts may be biased, but why the “insists”? No Septon Eustace is likely lying or making heavy embellishments. He proves himself a green supporter.
And here is the entry in AWoIaF for how/why Daemon Blackfyre may have rebelled against Daeron II:
Yet too many men looked upon Baelor's dark hair and eyes and muttered that he was more Martell than Targaryen, even though he proved a man who could win respect with ease and was as open-handed and just as his father. Knights and lords of the Dornish Marches came to mistrust Daeron, and Baelor as well, and began to look more and more to the old days, when Dornishmen were the enemy to fight, not rivals for the king's attention or largesse. And then they would look at Daemon Blackfyre—grown tall and powerful, half a god among mortal men, and with the Conqueror's sword in his possession—and wonder.
The seeds of rebellion had been planted, but it took years for them to bear fruit. There was no final insult, no great wrong, that led Daemon Blackfyre to turn against King Daeron. If it was truly all for the love of Daenerys, how is it that eight years passed before the rebellion bloomed? That was a long time to harbor thwarted love, especially when Rohanne had already given him seven sons and daughters besides, and Daenerys had also borne Prince Maron several heirs.
In truth, the seeds found fertile ground because of Aegon the Unworthy. Aegon had hated the Dornish and warred against them, and those lords who desired the return of those days—despite all the associated misrule—would never be happy with this peaceable king. Many famed warriors who looked with dismay on the peace in the realm and the Dornish in the king's court began to seek Daemon out.
Perhaps at first, Daemon Blackfyre merely indulged such talk for the sake of his vanity. After all, years had passed between the first men approaching Daemon and the actual rebellion. What, then, tipped Daemon over into proclaiming for the throne? It seems likely it was another of the Great Bastards: Ser Aegor Rivers, called Bittersteel. Perhaps it was his Bracken blood that made Aegor so choleric and so quick to take offense. Perhaps it was the ignominious fall of the Brackens in King Aegon's esteem, leading to his exile from Aegon's court. Or perhaps it was only his rivalry with his half brother and fellow bastard Brynden Rivers, who had been able to maintain his close relations at court—for Bloodraven's mother had been well loved during her life, and was fondly remembered, so the Blackwoods did not suffer as the Brackens did when the king cast off his respective mistresses.
Whatever the case may be, Aegor Rivers soon began to press Daemon Blackfyre to proclaim for the throne, and all the more so after Daemon agreed to wed his eldest daughter, Calla, to Aegor. Bitter his steel may have been, but worse was his tongue. He spilled poison in Daemon's ear, and with him came the clamoring of other knights and lords with grievances.
In the end, years of such talk bore their fruit, and Daemon Blackfyre made his decision. Yet it was a decision he made rashly, for word soon reached King Daeron that Blackfyre meant to declare himself king within the turn of the moon.
("The Targaryen Kings: Daeron II”; pg 101-102)
He somehow "made his decision" before King Daeron II sent people after him.
And this is Daemon’s history/background:
However, one of those natural children came from a woman not accounted his mistress: Princess Daena, the Defiant.
Daemon was the name Daena gave to this child, for Prince Daemon had been the wonder and the terror of his age, and in later days that was seen as a warning of what the boy would become. Daemon Waters was his full name when he was born in 170 AC. At that time, Daena refused to name the father, but even then Aegon's involvement was suspected. Raised at the Red Keep, this handsome youth was given the instruction of the wisest maesters and the best masters-at-arms at court, including Ser Quentyn Ball, the fiery knight called Fireball. He loved nothing better than deeds of arms and excelled at them, and many saw in him a warrior who would one day be another Dragonknight. King Aegon knighted Daemon in his twelfth year when he won a squires' tourney (thereby making him the youngest knight ever made in the time of the Targaryens, surpassing Maegor I) and shocked his court, kin, and council by bestowing upon him the sword of Aegon the Conqueror, Blackfyre, as well as lands and other honors. Daemon took the name Blackfyre thereafter.
("The Targaryen Kings: Aegon IV”; pg 95-96)
AND
Although he [Daeron II] could not—and would not—rescind his father's last wishes, he did what he could to keep the Great Bastards close, treating them honorably and continuing the incomes that the king had bestowed on them. He paid the dowry that Aegon had promised to the Archon of Tyrosh, thereby seeing his half brother Daemon Blackfyre wed to Rohanne of Tyrosh as Aegon had desired, for all that Ser Daemon was only four-and-ten. On their wedding day, he granted Daemon a tract of land near the Blackwater, with the right to raise a castle. Some said he did such things to assert his rule and legitimacy over the Great Bastards, and others because he was kind and just. But whatever the truth, such efforts sadly proved in vain.
("The Targaryen Kings: Daeron II”; pg 100)
I don’t know if Daemon Blackfyre was so vulnerable either to Aegor Rivers’s persuasions so much as he accepted the offerings and fell into the temptations of power, wanting to accomplish a full coming into power that his upbringing, his father’s favor, and his name “promised” him.

i really believe that discussing the character with someone who shares ur interpretation is the closest u can get to modern day philosophy. we are like plato and aristotle but talking about a fictional guys trauma

If Nettles was white, she would be as popular as Lyanna, Brienne or Arya, and y’all know it.
She grew up a homeless orphan (which is why it’s so insulting when people try to act like she’s a freaking idiot who doesn’t know how to bathe herself yet she can tame a dragon🤦🏽♀️ Put most of the highborn women in her position and they wouldn’t survive a day in her shoes).
She’s the only known non-Valyrian dragonrider who claims a wild dragon. A prince who believes in Valyrian supremacy falls in love with her to the point where he’s willing to sacrifice his life for her. Nettles singlehandedly disproves the whole idea of Targaryen exceptionalism and their blood purity. She slowly earns a dragon’s trust by bringing him sheep, and gradually he lets her closer, and then forms the dragonrider bond and lets her fly. up until this point, nobody had tried a strategy like that before.
Nettles is self-made. She’s self-taught. She’s loved for herself. She survives a freaking war and becomes a fire goddess/witch. Who wouldn’t want her ? Who wouldn’t want to be her ? Unlike Rhaenyra and Alicent, she’s the final girl of F&B.
Once again, I don't understand where you got that I'm anti Nettles? I'm anti Nettles x Daemon, but other than that theory, I very much am a fan of Nettles as a character. I won't say that there isn't racism and unfairness that happen regarding Nettles' character (though I haven't seen it personally), because people can be really shitty. But me personally, again, I'm not anti Nettles, I just dislike certain groups of her stans.
Again, I don't deny that Nettles was a strong woman. She endured many things most characters in F&B don't and most likely survived the Dance. However, I do disagree with some of the ideas you're stating as fact.
For starters, we don't know if Nettles is non-Valyrian; that's one of the many theories surrounding her, but it's not confirmed, so stating it as fact is misleading. Just because she lacks traditional Valyrian features doesn't means she isn't a dragonseed.
Jace and his brothers don't look Valyrian but they very obviously are of Valyrian descent. Rhaenys, the queen who never was, had black hair; Duncan the son of Aegon V looked like his mother, Betha Blackwood; Aegor Rivers also had black hair; Baelor Breakspear had dark hair; Daeron son of Maekar had sandy brown hair; Rhaenys the daughter of Rhaegar had her mother, Elia Martell's features.
Moving on, Daemon's relationship with Nettles is ambiguous. We don't know if they were in a romantic relationship or if his attack on Aemond was purely to save her (though I'm sure that was part of his decision). Again, you are stating a theory you believe as fact, even though it's unconfirmed.
I'm not going to touch the whole thing of Targaryen exceptionalism, because, as I said earlier, Nettles' parentage is unconfirmed. But the whole blood purity thing still hasn't been disproven at any point of GRRM's works; they intermarried to preserve their magic blood, the magic blood still exists in ASOIAF due to the incest.
Nettles is an important character in the story of the Dance, but she isn't the "final girl" you claim she is, let alone of the whole book. There are several dragon riders who survived the Dance and thrived. Rhaena is the ancestor of the Tyrells in the main series. Aegon III is the ancestor of Daenerys, the Baratheons, any remaining Blackfyres, and possibly Jon Snow and Young Griff. Baela and Alyn are the ancestors of Aurane Waters and the Velaryons.
The book of F&B is so much more than the Dance of the Dragons. Saying that Nettles is the "final girl" of the book doesn't make any sense when she only appears in a few sections. That's like saying Alys Rivers is actually the main character of the book. Nettles disappears after the Dance and doesn't appear in any other event. She does nothing else after her disappearance and has relatively little impact on the history of Westeros post Dance.
I have absolutely no idea where you're getting the whole "fire goddess/witch" thing. However, you have already been throwing out theories and your personal biases as fact, so I don't think it matters. I'm not trying to control who your fav is, I totally understand wanting to be a certain book character. But that doesn't mean you can act like everyone else is wrong for not having the same fav as you.
It's that kind of entitlement, thinking you're better than everyone else that makes people not like Nettles stans. It's almost on par with stansas and Alicent stans. People like you project so hard onto your favs, you take any perceived insult, critique, or argument as a personal attack. It's exhausting interacting with people like you.

ranking the great bastards:
shiera seastar. i mean... i think it's obvious I adore her... but really this woman is such a fun character. she had men fighting for her 24/7, in a society that bases women's values on how great a husband they can score, and yet she remained unmarried? she's just vibing and i'm loving it. her taste in fashion is devine really, but i'm probably biased since I love her going "silver is good, gold is vulger" and my girl loved books + kept a huge library!
daemon blackfyre: now ik what people are thinking, how can I love shiera and not love her boyfriend second? well... *coghs* i may or may not have a weakness when it comes to men with swords! jokes aside i find daemon to be an interesting character, based off what little we know of him. his mother princess daena targaryen allegedly refused to name who his father was, it was only after daemon wins a tourney at the age of 12 that king aegon iv targaryen acknowledged him as his son. dispute being of royal blood on both sides daemon is still a bastard, which in my opinion plays a huge role in shaping his character. personally i don't subscribe to the daemon/daenerys romance given the timelines of everything and overall both parties seem perfectly happy and content with their individual spouses. daemon is shown to be a honourable warrior as we see how he treats his opponent gwayne corbray. he appears to have been a good father as well, given his reaction to his son's death. overall these qualities combined makes daemon a compelling character to me. even tho i don't support his rebellion or cause.
aegor rivers: well... *coghs again* in all honesty I'd say the reason aegor is above brynden is mostly because of my preference towards the bracken's and I think his aunt bethany bracken is such a tragic character. tho can't excuse how he acted towards my boy daemon ii blackfyre. overall the whole "he died defeated and alone, a broken man in an alien land." is so sad to me.
brynden rivers: okay so... i don't hate bloodraven, he's very cool! i love him and shiera they have this goth couple vibe that i find interesting. the thing is I find him enigmatic, and well his actions all point to him being a pro! targaryen person, plus not very honourable with what he did to aenys blackfyre, so have my doubts about him being an all good character.

WIP Wednesday means I finally start going at something I’ve been stewing on for a while: characters from The Bad Batch as characters from The Blackfyre Rebellion, a conflict that takes place between House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones.
It all started because, upon watching the first episode of TBB, I realized that Daddy Warcrimes Crosshair was a PERFECT Brynden Rivers/Bloodraven. Longer hair, medieval clothes, and boom. That's him. Pack it up, we're done. HBO, I'm waiting for my contract as a showrunner, thanks.
And Hunter? Let's give him the same wardrobe, drop the bandanna, color his hair silver-gold and his eyes purple and....there. There's the beautiful Targaryen bastard prince Daemon Blackfyre in all of his glory.
Oh and these guys are half-brothers, as is Daeron II, who will be played by Tech, and Aegor Rivers/Bittersteel, who is Wrecker, for sure.
The ladies? Their sisters, Daenerys (not the one from GOT) and Shiera Seastar are absolutely Omega and Emerie Karr. With Targaryen coloring. Errrybody getting a silver wig here.
I'm coloring them all in and will post as soon as I can. I needed something out of my Expanse/multiverse world and this was perfect.

7 Which Free City are you retiring to?
GOD I WANT TO DO A GRAND TOUR OF THEM ALL... lorath the weird qohor the weirder. lys the forgotton revolutionary volantis the evil. renaissance myr bells of norvos pentos of varys and tyanna fame. tyrosh the slay blue hair and pronouns. but its gotta be braavos!!! the only one not tainted by valyria the one with hot sauce. myr second choice :)
11 Favourite bastard
honestly. gendry. he does NOT want to be that man's bastard he HATES that motherfucker he's an anarchist union man but the thing is. he is literally doing robert and lyanna. liiike. king sorry. if this meant great bastards im going aegor rivers for horse representation
26 Favourite "problematic" ship
genuinely everybody feel free to unfollow me for this but i am a minor closet sansan shipper im so sorry guys booo boooo tomatoes i know !!!! i got into this series through watching game of thrones at 14 okay. i was a sansan jonerys gendrya normie. i am on the vanguard of stop shipping sansa with adult men. unfortunately its in my blood i just cant escape it... its not huge for me and i consider it (like gendrya) a part of the scrapped time skip thing where it might have happened but not anymore. sowwy </3
32 A fancast you absolutely can’t stand
fancasting is hard for me i can never fully see a real person as one of these characters unless its absurdist ie tobin bell bloodraven jennifer tilly alys rivers or michelle visage barba bracken from my elaborate asoiaf in my mind surreal adaptation. but honestly every skinny white pretty fancast does nothing for me i dont care. or if its some russian model like what? do you really want some rando russian model who cant act to portay these characters??? just cos theyre skinny with bone structure??????? most fancasts i deride as "white" despite the fact the characters are canonically white* *u know what i mean

12 for the ask thing
peace & love i already answered this one. i said larys. lemme do another one completely unexpected.
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
AEGOR RIVERS!!! i fear he's so unpopular people might think i'm doing a bit but i actually like him so much. he's even unpopular IN THE STORY... no bless yous for giacomo ever. sistergf left him for his other brother, had to raise all his nephews and niecewife in exile, one of those nephews fucked it up so much he ruined for the rest of them..... i like him because while he has such a black reputation in universe a lot of his actions don't seen to be as that evil?? i mean the dichotomy is so interesting because in any other universe he would just be maekar, one of the good guys, except he decided to side with daemon, putting himself in opposition and keep the rebellions going, crowning nephew after nephew out of love for his brother. he could've crowned himself, he had the army! but he didn't. also he's so hot. number one hater, homophobic, misogynist, a bracken, probably a control freak....
choose violence ask game

Jon Snow's Living Situation in ASOIAF
A lot of people take for granted that it was "unusual" for Jon Snow to be raised at Winterfell, so I tried to gather information on as many natural born children mentioned in ASOIAF and related materials to see if that was true.
And it seems not to be, even in the South (outside of Dorne, even). The children born out of wedlock to highborn parents seem to be kept with them or nearby.
This is admittedly a small sample size (around 80 characters, and I didn't go too deep into it so I'm missing at least some), but it's not like this is real history, and the fact that Jon's situation is not unusual seeming from what we're shown in the books just adds to the idea that people's impressions of what is normal are not the truth of what is normal.
Northern Bastards that lived/probably lived with their families (other than Jon himself):
Brandon Snow (Torrhen Stark’s brother, most likely lived at Winterfell)
Sara Snow (Rickon Stark’s daughter during the Dance, if she existed definitely lived at Winterfell)
Dacey, Alysane, Lyra, Jorelle, and Lyanna Mormont (Maege Mormont’s daughters, father(s) unknown and most likely not married to Maege)
Denys Snow (Bastard of Barrowtown, bastard of House Dustin)
Lonnel Snow (Son of Brandon Stark from Daeron II’s reign, possibly the origin of House Cassel)
Timothy Snow (the Bastard of Flint’s Finger, presumably lived with his Flint relatives)
Northern Bastards who were acknowledged and fostered elsewhere in the North:
Larence Snow (Halys Hornwood’s son, fostered with the Glovers)
Other Bastards who seem to have lived with/near their families:
Addison Hill (Bastard of Cornfield during the Conquest)
Alys River (House Strong, a wet nurse at Harrenhal)
Aurane Waters (Bastard of Driftmark, Lord Monford Velaryon’s brother)
Bastard of Blackhaven (House Dondarrion during the conquest)
Bastard of Harrenhal (House Lothston during Daeron II’s reign)
Bryden Rivers (Bloodraven), Gwenys Rivers, Mya Rivers
Cedrik Storm (Bastard of Bronzegate, House Buckler bastard, fought Barristan Selmy)
Daemon Sand (Bastard of Godsgrace, son of Ryon Allyrion)
Daemon Waters (aka Daemon Blackfyre, son of Princess Daena and Aegon IV)
Falia Flowers (daughter of Humfrey Hewitt, though made a servant)
Joy Hill (Gerion Lannister’s daughter)
Lynora Hill (daughter of Ser Jason Lannister, works at Casterly Rock)
Obara Sand, Nymeria Sand, Tyene Sand, Sarella Sand, Elia Sand, Obella Sand, Dorea Sand, and Loreza Sand (the Sand Snakes)
Orys Baratheon (rumored bastard of Aerion Targaryen)
Red Robb Rivers (the Bowman of Raventree, bastard of House Blackwood)
Rolland Storm (Bastard of Nightsong, House Caron)
Ronald Storm (son of Ser Ronnet Connington)
Ronard Storm (House Durrandon, usurped his brother King Morden II)
Tom Flowers (Bastard of Bitterbridge, from House Caswell during the Dance)
Tyler Hill (Bastard of Lannisport, son of Lord Lyman during Maegor’s reign)
Tyrion Tanner (Lollys Stokeworth’s son)
Walda Rivers (great-granddaughter of Walder Frey)
Walder Rivers (Walder Frey’s oldest bastard son)
Walys (Maester at Winterfell under Rickard Stark, while becoming a Maester might normally be seen as sending the child away, he was the son of a Hightower and an Archmaester)
Wex Pyke (son of Sargon Botley)
(I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume if someone is called “Bastard of [seat of their family]” that they lived with their family, as Jon Snow is the “Bastard of Winterfell”)
Other Bastards who possibly lived with their families (at least for a time)
Blackshield (Bastard of Uplands, possibly of House Mullendore)
Ellaria Sand (daughter of Harmen Uller)
Garrett and Garse Flowers (Mace Tyrell’s first cousins, presumably lived with their father)
Harry Rivers (Bastard of Bracken, son of Lord Jonos Bracken)
Shiera Seastar (daughter of Aegon IV, not really confirmed where she lived her early years I don't think, though most likely in King’s Landing)
Bastards definitely not raised at home:
Aegor Rivers (Bittersteel, would have been raised in King’s Landing but Daeron and Aemon forced Aegon to send him away)
Cotter Pyke (Night’s Watch member, most likely did not live with his highborn relatives)
Edric Storm (Robert Baratheon’s son, technically was raised at his family’s seat in Storm’s End, but not at the Red Keep)
Gendry Waters (Robert Baratheon’s son)
Mya Stone (Robert Baratheon’s daughter)
All the rest of Robert Baratheon's kids
Notable bastards whose situations are not at all comparable to Jon’s:
Ramsey Snow (Roose Bolton’s son, a product of a First Night rape)
Benedict I Justman (a Blackwood/Bracken mix, so basically an abomination in the eyes of the gods lol)
Addam and Alyn Velaryon (Lord Corlys Velaryon’s probable sons, most likely purposefully hidden)
Franklyn Flowers (mother was a small folk raped by Fossoways of Cider Hall)
Glendon Flowers (could not prove parentage, claimed to be Quentyn Ball’s son with a camp follower)
Jayne and Jon Waters (Alyn Velyaron and Elaena Targaryen’s children, Alyn died when they were young but had planned to marry Elaena)
Joffrey, Tommen, and Myrcella (obviously)
All of Lyonel Hightower and Samantha Tarly’s children (weren’t allowed to marry, but had children anyway)
Named bastards we don’t have enough information on:
Addam Rivers (briefly a river king)
Humfrey Waters (Commander of the City Watch)
Jafer Flowers (Night’s Watch member)
Mervyn Flowers (King Aegon III KG)
Robert Flowers (former LC of the KG)
Robin Hill (former LC of NW)
Ser Samuel Stone (Runestone master-at-arms)
Tristan Rivers (Golden Company)

What do you think of Daemon Blackfyre in general ?
I got into an argument with someone about this and my thought son him are there (you can also read the earlier reblog/rebuttal to that person), and back then I argued that Daemon Blackfyre seemed very much the would-be usurper/traitor of his brother Daeron II. I haven't seen or considered how he isn't, since he marries his daughter Calla to his other, 100% rebellious brother, Aegor Rivers.
I could be too harsh on Daemon, but again, I can't see him not thinking of himself as the one meant to rule. Perhaps this would upset some people, idk.
